Urgent,Can i deploy Forms6i application on Oracle 9i AS R2 ?
I installed Oracle9i infrastrucure Release 2, Bussiness Intelligance and Forms in another home on the same machine.
Can i deploy my appliction made by forms 6i using this release or i must migrate it to Forms9i DS firstly ?
Yasser,
We had to recompile our 6i forms with 9ids to have them work under 9ias rel2. That was all that was required (assuming your forms and reports directory structure remains the same - if not, you will have to change path statements in your forms before the recompile).

I am using jdeveloper 11gr2, so pls dont tell me to use jdeveloper 11gr1. because, i hv already developed an application for my final year B.Tech and i cant migrate to previous release. So there is only one way for me by generating ear file and deploying from console.
So,
I m not getting what is the problem and what will be solution for this?
What should i do?
What changes should required?
pls, help me to get out from this problem !!!!!Well, I guess you have a problem here. Check http://multikoop.blogspot.de/2012/12/deploying-adf-applications-into-oracle.html and from this

Note: In its current stage Oracle Java Cloud Service runs WebLogic Server 10.3.6 with the appropriate Runtime ADF 11.1.1.6. Deployment of ADF 11gR2 Applications is currently not supported. Beside this limitation some ADF Features are not supported on the Oracle Cloud. According to the Oracle Cloud Documentation it is not supported to use the following ADF features
ADF Desktop Integration
ADF mBean
ADF MDS (Seeded customizations or cross-session personalization)
ADF Mobile
ADF Active Data Services (=> No real-time ADF Web Apps in Oracles Cloud)
ADF Business Components services interfaces (web services) or events
ADF Data Controls for BI, Essbase, BAM, and JMX
Further there are some restrictions which are good to know I think
No Java Mail API (=>Sending Mails is prohibited)
No File system access by deployed applications (=>Writing files is prohibited)
No Direct use of Oracle JDBC Driver APIs
No Java Message Service (JMS)
Max Size for deployment archive 95MB

I hope for you that the information from the blog has changes in the meantime (blog is from end of last year). Check the current doc for the cloud ...

Surendra Sahooi'Ve had the exact same problem.
for me this solved the problem:
Prior to starting the WebLogic Server, you need to add a setting to the domain's configuration file that enables the credentials that are included in the FOD application to be deployed to the domain. This setting applies only to development instances as described above in the introduction to this section.
In a text editor, open the file <FMW_HOME>/user_projects/domains/MySOADomain/bin/setDomainEnv.cmd (substitute the name of your own SOA domain in this path,) and add the following to the SET JAVA_PROPERTIES line:
-Djps.app.credential.overwrite.allowed=true -
Error -8 when deploying JHeadStart application to Oracle Application Server
Hi,
I have developed an application using Oracle JHeadstart 10.1.3 Preview Version 10.1.3.0.78
We have Oracle Application Server 10g running in AS400. I created a connection to the server and tested. It shows the connection success.
I am trying to deploy my application to Oracle Application Server 10g but getting the following error:
Closing connection to Oc4jDcmServlet
#### DCM command did not complete successfully (-8)
#### HTTP return code was -8
Exit status of DCM servlet client: -8
Elapsed time for deployment: 30 seconds
#### Deployment incomplete. #### 25-Jul-2006 2:21:44 PM
I developed applications in JDev10.1.2 and deployed to the same server (Oracle Application Server 10g) without any problem.
But if I want to deploy application from JDev10.1.3 then I am having this error.
Can anybody help me? what might be the problem?
Thanks
SyedSyed,
Did you generate your application with service -level property "JSP version" set to "1.2"? If not, you cannot deploy your app to a J2EE 1.3 application server like Oracle AS 10.1.2.

Can you deploy an application sequenced with App-V v5 with SCCM 2007?
We are currently in the process of upgrading to SCCM 2012. We are also embarking on testing App-V v5. Can we deploy sequenced applications from App-V v5 using SCCM 2007? What limitations will exist with SCCM 2007? What release of
SCCM 2007 should we be at for App-V v5 sequenced applications to be deployed and/or streamed? This KB article is now available: Supported Configuration Manager and Microsoft Application Virtualization scenarios

Urgent :- Unable to deploy EAR file in Oracle application server
Hello folks,
I am trying to deploy an application containing jsps and servlets
packaged into EAR using ant. However when am trying to do so by using
the Deploy EAR option in the Enterprise manager, it throws the
following error -
"Invalid J2EE application file specified - Jar file:
/var/tmp/jar47241.tmp is missing its standard xml descriptor located at
META-INF/ejb-jar.xml"
I suspect that something could be wrong with regards to the way the ear
file has been created.
Please if someone could pin point the problem and help me understand
the the above error message , it will be of great help to me and I d
really appreciate this.
Many Thanks,
Ramn.Hello,
I try to deploy an ear file (contains jar and war files) in Oracle Application server in linux, but the time is so long. The same file I deploy in a OAS in windows and the deploy time was 2 minutes, but in linux I leave the hole night and the session close and the deploy in unable.
I don't know if I need configure an especial option in the OAS in Linux, how I can load my ear file.
The OAS in windows was installed with oc4j options only, but the OAS in linux was full installation
Please help me....
Thanks. -
Can I deploy ADF outside IAS & Oracle RDBMS ?
Hi all,
We are exploring JDev 10g to be our standard J2EE IDE.
But I am wondering whether ADF can be deployed outside IAS (e.g : Tomcat, JBoss) ? for production ?
Also what If ADF on SQL Server 2000 as backends ?
We need to make sure about this because we are not dedicated to Oracle RDBMS and IAS. We just look for an best J2EE IDE to speed up development.
Thank you for any help,
KristYes both are possible.
In the JDeveloper tools menu the ADF Runtime installer has options to be installed on JBoss and Tomcat and Weblogic with a single click.
We also know of people using other application servers.
ADF is also database independent - for example in the how-to section of JDeveloper on OTN you'll find instructions for using ADF BC with MySQL.
Toplink (another ADF persistence option) can also work with multiple databases. -
How to deploy hibernate application in Oracle Content Management SDK?
Hi All,
I have a hibernate application which is perfectly working in Tomcat Server. I need to deploy the application under an OC4J Instance of Oracle Content Management SDK.
I have deployed the application under one OC4J Instance, but when I submitting the login page of the application, some errors are coming. The error is given below.

I think there is some thing missing in my configurations. Can you please tell how to deploy and run a hibernate application. Is there any problem occurs while accessing another DataBase from Oracle Content Management? What are the setting I have to do for running a hibernate application from Oracle CMSDK?
Thanks in advance
BasilHi,
I got the solution for my problem. The error came because of the hibernate pooling. I removed the hibernate pooling lines from my hibernate configuration file and it is working fine.lines

How to deploy ADF applications in Oracle apps
Hi,
I just gone thru demos on ADF rich client applications using jdeveloper 11g.My doubt is how to deploy and use these from oracle apps.Is ADF supported in R12.If yes then could anybody provide me steps to deploy code at unix file system and how to create form functions for accessing jspx pages?
I know that in OAF, we can deploy server components at $OA_java and PG.xml files using xml importer and we can create form functions for PG.xml files.Similarly what are the steps to deploy and access ADF applications thru oracle apps.
Thanks,
ashokADF Rich Client Components need a newer server than the one that comes with Apps R12.
So what you'll need to do is have a separate WebLogic 10.3 server where you deploy the ADF Rich Client Applications.
You can call them from your Apps by customizing your current apps and adding a button or link that just calls the URL where your ADF apps are. -
Can I deploy an application as ROOT url?
I have an application, which the linking and redirection urls use the absolute link. So, if i deploy it, I must deploy it as ROOT for runing. but in the Oracle9ias I can not find out how to do, any one can help me? thanks a lot.
Hi,
Amazingly enough, I'm stuck with the same problem! Chech the thread that I've started:
Re: Count(*) doubt
At this point I have one question: are you using the standalone oc4j or the 9iAS?
I have troubles with deploying my application in 9iAS under the root dir. For an unknown reason, the opmn.exe (oracle process manager) crashes completly.
Note that I took the exact steps as you did in order to mount my application. The only difference probably is that I have a servlet in the fromt that intercepts all the requests. See the thread that I've pointed out for more about this.
Please tell me if you have had any problems (crashes or anything unusual) deploying your application under ROOT.
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
I am writing a J2EE application which (in theory, at least)
connects to an Oracle 9i database.
I have written a simple Java test app utilising only the
java.sql package classes (e.g. Connection, ResultSet) to directly
connect to the database. As long as the classes12.zip is in the
CLASSPATH it works fine.
Now I have written an Enterprise application (SessionBean,
Remote and Home interface and Client) which I am attempting to
deploy via deploytool.
If I include just the client jar and EJB jar in the application
it deploys okay but when I run the application (using runclient)
it produces the following error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jdbc/OracleDriver
(It is nested within other error output but that is the core
issue).
However if I try to include the JAR libraries into the app
(classes12.jar and nls_charset.jar from $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib),
then I get the following output from deploytool when I hit the
"deploy" (or "redeploy") button:
Deployment error: invalid entry compressed size
(expected 14411 but got 14580 bytes)
Can someone please tell me what is going on???
How can I deploy the J2EE application including the Oracle
JDBC Driver???
My only other option at the moment is to place all the function-
-ality in the client and not use the J2EE framework.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

[email protected]OK Ben,
I admit I'm a bit confused. Let me see if I understand where you're
coming from.
You have written a J2EE application that includes a session bean,
correct? If so, your session bean needs to be deployed to an EJB
container. What container are you using? The Oracle 9i database
has an embedded EJB container which (theoretically) you can use.
However, as far as I know, Oracle recommends you use OC4J as the
EJB container. So again I ask, what EJB container are you using?
If, as you say, you are new to EJB, then I think you should
immediately start working wiht OC4J as your EJB container.
Did you look at the tutorial link I gave in my previous post? It
explains -- step by step -- how to create, deploy and run a J2EE
application using OC4J as the EJB container. It also has links to
introductory material for people without little knowledge of J2EE
and EJB.
I have 9iAS Enterprise Edition and 8.1.7.1.0 database server (and
OC4J) installed on my SUN machine. I cannot find any of the
utilities you mention -- "j2eeadmin","runclient" or "deploytool".
What Oracle software have you installed? What are the versions?
What platform are you using?
A J2EE application (according to the specification from SUN)
consists of modules. A module can either be a client module or an
EJB module. A client module can either be a java application client
or a web-based client (servlet or JSP). A J2EE application usually
contains one client module and one EJB module. A J2EE application
needs to be deployed to a J2EE container.
Hopefully the J2EE picture is becoming clearer. I think you need
to read some introductory material regarding J2EE if you intend
to become proficient at it.
I feel that you are under the impression that a J2EE application
is a glorified JDBC application. It isn't (as far as I'm aware).
Good Luck,
Avi. -
Hi.
We are deploying a flash application that connects thru flash
remoting with ASP.NET 1.1 and everything runs fine when runned
looking for localhost but not when we set the real domain or IP.
There 's no firewall between.
May be we are missing a configuration issue??
thanks in adviceHello,
Which version of Eclipse are you using, with which plugins?
Do you know that you can use WebTools Project and you have an adaptor for OC4J 10.1.3?
Take a look to : WTP Tutorials - Deploy Web Applications to the Oracle Application Server
To answer your question, you can take a look to the documentation on Apache Ant configuration with Oracle Tasks.

We recently upgraded to Netbean 6.01, but we have Netbeans 6.0 still installed on the computer. I'm trying to deploy a web application to Tomcat. I can deploy to GlassFish, but whenever I try to deploy the application to Tomcat, it gives me this message.
Deployement error:
The module has not been deployed.
See the server log for details.
...a bunch of other useless messages...
It gives me this error even with the brand new web application that Netbeans creates when you create a new project. When I check the server log like it says to, it's completely blank. However, when I check the IDE log, it says this:
INFO [org.netbeans.modules.tomcat5.TomcatManagerImpl]: TomcatManagerImpl connecting to: http://localhost/8084/manager/list
java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://localhost:8084/manager/list
INFO [org.netbeans.modules.tomcat5.TomcatManagerImpl]: TomcatManagerImpl connecting to: http://localhost:8084/manager/deploy?config=file:/C:/DOCUME~1/Temp/context64322.xml&path=/WebApplication3
java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://localhost:8084/manager/deploy?config=file:/C:/DOCUME~1/Temp/context64322.xml&path=/WebApplication3
...bunch of other stuff...
INFO [global]
The module has not been deployed.
...bunch of messages..
java.io.IOException: Bad pathname
I checked this file: C:/DOCUME~1/Temp/context64322.xml and it exists, but when I try to go to http://localhost:8084/manager or http://localhost:8084/manager/list it comes up blank. Is there something wrong with the configuration of Netbeans? It is because there's a Netbeans 6.0 and 6.01 on the same box? I did notice that it appears that Netbeans 6.0 and 6.01 are using the same configuration folder ({USER_HOME}/.netbeans/6.0) How do I fix this?looks like you have to add getter/setter for every one of your field (or at least firstName) in the class User
