once you have created the equipments it is impossible to change the name,also for deleting the equipment ,first you have to delete all the dependencies first,ie maintenace order,tasklist,notification etc

Change display name of the server under Equipment

is it possible to change the display name of the LIVE / PRODUCTION blade under equipment --> Chasis -->Servers to our own naming standards.

It is not possible to change the name of the server, but you can add a label to it (see attached screenshot). And yes, it can be done during production hours, this doesn't affect the production data.

Sorry I think I worded my question wrong. When I connect to my G4 to our company network the computer changes its name:
from renata:~ REN$
to kate:~ REN$
but you can only see this change in terminal. But what I think it might be doing is whoever had the IP address before my computer it is taking there computer name(PC) and assigning it to my mac G4.

Changing the name of serial communication example in lab windows. Urgent help required

I am using the example of getting data from rs 232 in lab windows. I want to use this in my final year project that's why I want to change its name that appears as "serial communication example" how can I change its name and how can I make its exe file that will run on any system even without lab windows.
How can I modify this example to save the data. I am very new to lab windows, I was using hyper terminal previously.

I am not informed about the file format that hyperterminal uses. However, CVI allows wiring to files. To get a list of functions that deal with file handling, press <Ctrl-Shift-p> to get the "Find Function Panel" dialog. Type in "file" and press the "Find" button. ChaRM Urgent Change Preliminary Import variant

Hi,
I am trying to change the Umode of the preliminary import program being used by an Urgent Change in ChaRM. This is the program name:
/TMWFLOW/SCMA_TRORDER_IMPORT
Is there a way to configure the import UMODE based on variant configuration? I know we can configure the variant to be used by the program in the Task List/Schedule Manager. However, currently there are no variants and I am also unable to configure/create a variant via SE38.

Notifying a user that an Urgent Change Request has been Approved, or Denied

Trying to figure out the best way to have an email go back to a user after a Change Request has been updated with either an Approved or Deny
What we do now is after a user creates an Urgent Change Request, and email goes out to all of our Managers. One of them will reply all to the email with either an [approval] or [deny] in the message body so Service Manager gets the email and acts on
it and the other Managers know it was acted on.
Problem is, if the Manager forgets to add in the Change Requester in the email, they don't know it was acted on. I tried using WorkFlows for Change Request to update the Change Requester of an update but there is nothing in there for Approval or Deny.
I then resorted to subscriptions but can't figure out how to configure the subscription so that only the Change Requester gets the email. We can configure different email templates based on the whether the change was approved or denied. Just need to figure
out how to configure the Recipient.

I've checked the link and found it working. Of course, it works only if the RA is a direct child of work item itself (so for RAs encapsulated in SA or PA it doesn't work).

It does work even if it is within a PA or SA or even deeper, you "just" have to follow the path to the CR from there. But then you would need a subscription for each RA depending on where it is in the flow. Try to make your users understand that :D

Change router name

I entered a unique router name during the initial setup but now would like to change that name to something different. How do I make that change?

I found where I could change the name, but now my other equipment in the house (TiVo or PDA) cannot sync through it. By using the SSID that I originally gave it I can sync and the passwords will work. But once I changed the name, the other equipment sees the router but the password will not work and it will not sync.
So I changed it back and it works but I would really like to change the name, if I could

I tried to change the name of my device and now I cant sync anything and it says there is a problem with the disk and when I changed the name back it still said the same thing so I restored my ipod (not from itunes but on the ipod itsself)

And now its saying my ipod is corrupt. None of my stuff was erased from itunes it was only erased from my ipod so why am I not able to just sync everything back onto my ipod? why is it doing this now? I think this is ridiculous that just changing one name would do this much damage.

Change the name of custom tab in me51n / me52n / me53n

Hi,
I have to add a few custom fields in PR item of transactions me51n / me52n / me53n. I have used the enhancement MEREQ001 for adding the custom fields. The sytem automatically creates a custom tab with the name Customer Tab for the additional fields that I have added using the enhancement MEREQ001 while displaying in me51n / me52n / me53n.
Now I have a requirement to change the name of the custom tab created for transactions me51n / me52n / me53n from Customer Data to Others.
Can anyone suggest me how to go about doing this???

Changing Step Name in XML Report programmaticaly

I am trying to change the step name programmaticaly in TestStand to reflect in the XML report. The step is executed several times in a loop, and every time the loop runs I want the step to be named differently in the XML report. For example, the names will be something like this < Test1: Signal Name 1>, <Test2: Signal Name 2> ....etc. Any help on this will be appreciated .

Hi,
The best time to change the name is before you perform the test, then it will get inserted in the ResultList and hence into your report.
I have attached one way of doing this. You can also perform it after the Step you wish to change, in which case you would use the RunState.PreviousStep as a reference.
You could call the API method as part of your code.
Remeber, if you use a PropertyLoader to load Limits, and you have placed this inside the loop, then your Limits file for the Step Name must match the new step name not the old one that you see statically.
This is a TS3.5 example.
