URGENT!!! Convert 4.5 to 5.0

Hi!
I need to know how to convert from Developer Forms 4.5 to
Developer Forms 5.0, without lose the fonts and dimensions
defined in version 4.5.
With 4.5 I developed with 800x600 and in 5.0 my resolution is
640x480. How can I resolve this without modify my originals
forms?
With the fonts...The font defined in 4.5 (MS Sans Serif 7) is not
available in 5.0, so where I have to define the default font to
be converted.

1.in win95 registry,local_machine\software\oracle,
add item 'forms50_defaultfont',value is 'font.size',
in which font and size is selected by you.
2.800*600 or 640*480 is display problem.I convert successfully.

URGENT: Converting Forms 4.5 application to 9i

Dear Friends,
There are a few things I want to know. I have a project to convert a Forms 4.5 application to Oracle 9i Forms.
Can you please guide me on the magnitude of change required. What is the major difference between 4.5 and 9i? Will i have to do entire recoding or the coding of 4.5 will be compatible with 9i?
Are there any other possibilities for converting 4.5 application to a 3-tier application?

A few points to answer your questions.
Yes You can WEB deploy Forms 6i on WEB. And Forms 6i was the last version of Forms which supports Character Mode.
The most important thing to remember about Forms Character mode is it wont support mouse and since all your operations are using key board, this is the primary concern while migrating from character to GUI/WEB.
let me give you an example..
I have three items each having key next item triggers.
In Character I cannot directly navigate from item 1 to 3 since I have only keys. But If I use the same application with GUI then you must remember that using a mouse to navigate from item 1 to item3 and the in between trigger ( of item 2 ) wont fire. This may not be a desirable behaviour ( since character apps are written with UNIX in mind ).And your problem starts here. You have to have a way of handling mouse navigation. I can give several examples. But 99% of the character apps that I have seen is written purely with character in mind and hence this will indeed be a major issue.
The second major issue is plcaements of your fields and appearance. You have to add Visual Atributes and Property classes. And let me assure you doing all this manually is a big pain and it will cost you a lot in terms of time and money.
Oracle does provide a upgrade utility , but this does nothing much than giving you a GUI Form with out taking care of the functionality.
So it is a hard bargain. There are corporations which have automated tools to do this. If you ensure that you interacvt with them properly you can get a good application in GUI/WEB. It will save you time but will cost you money.
So choose yourself .
V2 style triggers are no more supported. This basically contains many outdated builtins. So it is more or less a recoding effort if you have V2.
And with regard to 9i , Apart from that it wont support character and C/S there are no other issues. There is no reason why you cant use your 6i form with 9i.

I want to convert from AL16UTF16 character set to UTF8 character set
I tried to use the convert function but i couldnt ,

Check this setting in your smart form.
Global Settings --> Form Attributes --> General Attributes Tab.
Set radio button 'To All Languages'.
Now your smart form will be translated automatically to the logon language.
For example if you want to see your form in korean language, logout SAP once, then login with korean language 'KO'. (field after username and password)
If you need any specific text in other languages ... you have to create text id in SO10 using different logon languages.

URGENT: convert pdf Form to Word Form

Ihave a filled in pdf form and a blank form and I need to convert each to a Word form. acro pro 7 If I had vers 8.0 pro,would the steps be any different?
what is the fastest way to do this? The boss says the pdf form is not flexible enough but I cannot ask her more at this moment.

As long as you have been using Acrobat, I am surprised that your boss would have such a question. I thought of one possibility if the form fields are not retained in WORD, but don't know if it will work. You could try to save as HTML (I usually have best luck with HTML 3) and then open that in WORD. That might give you a back door to keep the form fields in much the same way opening a HTML form in Acrobat retains the form fields. Just a thought if the WORD save does not work.
In terms of flexibility, it is a simple matter to create the form (without fields) in WORD (the master document), make changes, and create a new PDF. Then the modified pages can simply be used to replace those in the old form (don't forget to work on a copy). I guess that is the second idea that is probably the route you were planning to take. Again, bood luck with the boss and with WORD. Bill

URGENT:Convert a Single Struts Project to Multiple Struts - 10g

Currently, I have a single Struts config file. Can i Add more projects and convert it to a multiple struts config project.
I followed the multiple struts config file in http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/StrutsMultiConfigs/struts_multiconfig_howto.html
and when i tryied to add struts in a new project, only the already existing struts file is added in the new project (Since the public_html dir is same). I cannot manually add a struts config file. Is there any way to do this ?

URGENT--Converting the BAPI return structure to XML

Hi,
I need to convert the return structure(export parameter) from a BAPI call to XML but not able to make out how to do that.
Before this I was required to convert the BAPI return table(export table) to XML and I did that by first converting it to the AdoDataTable, added it to a dataset and then used the builtin function to return the dataset in XML format. But here I am not able to make out how can I do the same with the Export structure.
Any help would be appreciated.

If the XML schema that you find as Xml attributes on the fields of the structure is good for you, you can just use the XML serializer to serialize it out:

Hi,
First you change the seetings in your Smartform.
Goto Global Settings ---> Form Attributes ---> General Attributes tab
Select the Radio Button "To All Languages".
Now you can use smartforms in any languages.

In this, the output list is getting populated into spool and to pdf.
But my requirement sending the internal table contents to spool directly without dispalying in the output list.
I did the program like the above mentioned one already. But my requirement is not that one.

Problem in converting into upper case urgent

i working on module pool program.
in the initial screen there is two fields one is number one is name.
if i enter the name in the name field it is automatically converting into upper case,
but in this case my select query is not working,how to solve this,i mean i have to take same as it is what i entered.
kindly give me suggestion.it is urgent issue.i have to delever today.

in the Report to handle like this situation.. we use the extentions to the parameter as LOWER CASE .
parameters p_t type char10 LOWER CASE .
i think in the Module pool also.. we can do this in Properties of the FIELD... once check the Properties of the field... there could be a chance.

there is field checkbox called UPPER/LOWER CASEat the bottom of the properties... if tick this u r porblem will be solved

URGENT!! Converting PAL to NTSC

Hi all
I need a reply on this badly!!
I just [so I thought] converted a PAL Anamorphic FCP Movie to NTSC Anamorphic QT using the Standards Conversion NTSC Anamorphic Preset in Compressor. RESULT: The Aspect Ratio has changed BUT when imported into an NTSC project in FCP Item Properties says its frame rate is 25 fps and not 30 or 29.97 AND when dropped into an NTSC Sequence it requires rendering for the video and audio streams. [Using Compressor 2.01 & FCP 5]

Just had a quick go taking a 4:3 pal clip (no anamorphic to hand) and outputted to Anamorphic NTSC and I got 30.12 fps! It seems something is up with compressor (search here)
If totally pushed for time try JES Deinterlacer its free, otherwise pop for

EDIT: It appears you must turn on frame controls (searching here) to get the frame rate corrected. You may want to set everything to the fastest since frame controls can take time to process

 Good Morning. I want an urgent program to convert a flat file seperated by '/' to an XML file format and store that in the the application server. If any one has done such a developement, could you please send me the code.
The flat file format is as below :
