  • Hi All difference between abap and hr-abap urgent pls

    Hi All difference between abap and hr-abap urgent pls

    Hello,
    To add to the above points regarding infotypes
    Infotypes stand apart in  HR and manage a volume of data in HR domain..they are unique to HR module ranging from basic employee information to time management and finally the custom infotypes.....
    Payroll and other monetory activities related to an employee also form a vital part of the HR module....
    while considering Reports..in HR data is mainly with respect to infotypes and the concept of PAKEY...7 key fields which uniquely defines any record in an infotype is used..with Pernr(employee number),Begda(begindate) and Endda(enddate) form an integral part of the key..Based on the time constraints(1,2,3) of an infotype the keys are judged (to retrieve data from an infotype)
    In ABAP HR we also have lots of predefined function modules that can be used..eg:go to se37..put 'HR*' and press F4...
    finally to update an HR infotype record we use the function module hr operation rather than direct updates...also there are standard audit trail reports that monitors various activities such as insert/modify/delete operations on an hr infotype record...
    Pls revert back for clarity and reward if helpful
    Regards

  • What is the difference between TO_CHAR and TO_DATE()?

    Hi everybody,
    i am facing a problem in my system.It is quite urgent, can you explain me "What is the difference between TO_CHAR and TO_DATE()?".
    According to user's requirement, they need to generate a code with format "YYMRRR".
    YY = year of current year
    M = month of current month (IF M >=10 'A' ,M >=11 'B' , M >=10 'C')
    RRR = sequence number
    Example: we have table USER(USER_ID , USER_NAME , USER_CODE)
    EX: SYSDATE = "05-29-2012" MM-DD-YYYY
    IF 10
    ROW USER_ID , USER_NAME , USER_CODE
    1- UID01 , AAAAA , 125001
    2- UID02 , AAAAA , 125002
    10- UID010 , AAAAA , 12A010
    This is the original Script code. But This script runs very well at my Local. Right format. But it just happens wrong format on production.
    12A010 (Right) => 11C010 (Wrong).
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'YY') || DECODE( TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'MM'),'01','1', '02','2', '03','3', '04','4', '05','5', '06','6', '07','7', '08','8','09','9', '10','A', '11','B', '12','C') ||     NVL(SUBSTR(MAX(USER_CODE), 4, 3), '000') USER_CODE FROM TVC_VSL_SCH
         WHERE TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'YY') = SUBSTR(USER_CODE,0,2)
         AND TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'MM') = DECODE(SUBSTR(USER_CODE,3,1),'1','01',
              '2','02', '3','03', '4','04', '5','05',
              '6','06', '7','07', '8','08', '9','09',
              'A','10', 'B','11', 'C','12')
    I want to know "What is the difference between TO_CHAR and TO_DATE()?".

    try to use following select
    with t as
    (select TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'YY') ||
             DECODE(TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'MM'),
                    '01', '1',
                    '02', '2',
                    '03', '3',
                    '04', '4',
                    '05', '5',
                    '06', '6',
                    '07', '7',
                    '08', '8',
                    '09', '9',
                    '10', 'A',
                    '11', 'B',
                    '12', 'C') as code
        from dual)
    SELECT t.code || NVL(SUBSTR(MAX(USER_CODE), 4, 3), '000') USER_CODE
      FROM TVC_VSL_SCH
    WHERE SUBSTR(USER_CODE, 1, 3) = t.codeand yes you need check time on your prodaction server

  • Difference between RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER and RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH

    Hi All,
    Currently we use RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER program to trigger daily mail broadcasting but will happen an error: Parallel processing not possible: no processing of xx package(s). in order to resolve this issue we search a link where it is mentioned to use the other program for RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH and use delay steps. http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BI/Common+Error+Messages+from+the+Broadcast+Log. We have no idea about the difference between RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER and RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH, could any experts explain about this. This is a urgent case for us, thanks in advance!

    Your error has been explained below in one of the WIKI.
    ERROR: 'Parallel processing not possible: no processing of X package(s)'
    To overcome Parallel Processing errors create a Process Chain which executes settings using report RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH.
    Create the variants for report RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH. Start transaction SE38 and execute the report. Select the setting(s) and save them as a variant.
    Include a process step in a process chain which executes an ABAP program. In the process step, choose the report RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH and the variant (from step 1) in the process chain step.
    Simulate a sequential execution by adding an additional wait-step in between process steps calling report RSRD_BROADCAST_BATCH, e.g. by adding a process chain step which calls a simple Z-report that waits for a given timeframe using the ABAP statement WAIT UP TO XX SECONDS.

  • Difference between KKS1 and KKS1N

    Hi,
    Could any one explain to me what is the difference between KKS1 and KKS1N. The problem is when we are calculating variance of production orders for a plant in KKS1, some of the old production orders are picked and when using KKS1N, in the processing category we can see the old orders are not picked, so varance are not calculated for those old orders.
    Please reply as soon as possible. urgent.
    Thanks and regards,
    Priyajit.
    Edited by: Priyajit  Ghosh on Jun 19, 2008 8:20 AM

    Functionality  KKS1:
    The system compares the control costs with the target costs and assigns the variances to variance categories. The variances are assigned to variance categories in the following sequence:
    u2022     Input price variance
    u2022     Resource-usage variance
    u2022     Input quantity variance
    u2022     Remaining input variance
    u2022     Mixed-price variance
    u2022     Output price variance
    u2022     Lot size variance
    u2022     Remaining variance
    Variance = 0 if only partial Goods Receipts has been performed.
    Variance = amount if only complete Goods Receipts has been performed.
    Scenario
    You want to calculated Variance either when Order is completed or at month end. Variance must be calculated when order is completed. In this case Variance = amount. Variance must also be calculated at month end even though order is not completed. In this case Variance = 0 (all left over amount is considered as WIP in this case).

  • Difference between Null and null?

    What is the difference between null and NULL?
    When is each used?
    Thanks,

    veryConfused wrote:
    There is a null in java, but no NULL. null means no value. However, when assigning value, the following is different:Although the empty String has no special role. Null means, the referential type is not assigned (doesn't refer) to a specific object. The empty String is just another object though, so seeing it or pointing it out as something special when it actually isn't at all (no more special than new Integer(0) or new Object[0]) just adds to the confusion.

  • Difference between GUI_UPLOAD and WS_UPLOAD

    Hi,
    Please make me clear about the difference between GUI_UPLOAD and WS_UPLOAD. In which cases we need to use these modules...??
    Thanks,
    Satish

    I would suggest to always use the GUI_UPLOAD.  I say this because this is the function module which is used in the GUI_UPLOAD method of the class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.   Really, you should probably use the class/method instead of the function module.
      data: filename type string.
      filename = p_file.
      call method cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_upload
             exporting
                  filename                = filename
                  filetype                = 'ASC'
             changing
                  data_tab                = iflatf
             exceptions
                  file_open_error         = 1
                  file_read_error         = 2
                  no_batch                = 3
                  gui_refuse_filetransfer = 4
                  no_authority            = 6
                  unknown_error           = 7
                  bad_data_format         = 8
                  unknown_dp_error        = 12
                  access_denied           = 13
                  others                  = 17.

  • Difference between char and varchar, also the difference between varchar2

    Hi,
    Can anyone explain me the difference between char and varchar, and also the difference between varchar and varchar2...

    Varchar2 is variable width character data type, so if you define column with width 20 and insert only one character to tis column only, one character will be stored in database. Char is not variable width so when you define column with width 20 and insert one character to this column it will be right padded with 19 spaces to desired length, so you will store 20 characters in the dattabase (follow the example 1). Varchar data type from Oracle 9i is automaticlly promoted to varchar2 (follow example 2)
    Example 1:
    SQL> create table tchar(text1 char(10), text2 varchar2(10))
    2 /
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into tchar values('krystian','krystian')
    2 /
    1 row created.
    SQL> select text1, length(text1), text2, length(text2)
    2 from tchar
    3 /
    TEXT1 LENGTH(TEXT1) TEXT2 LENGTH(TEXT2)
    krystian 10 krystian 8
    Example 2:
    create table tvarchar(text varchar(10))
    SQL> select table_name,column_name,data_type
    2 from user_tab_columns
    3 where table_name = 'TVARCHAR'
    4 /
    TABLE_NAME COLUMN_NAME DATA_TYPE
    TVARCHAR TEXT VARCHAR2

  • The difference between SFP+ and X2

    Dear Expert,
    I need to know what is the difference between SFP+ and X2! and can I use SFP+ card and module instead of X2?
    Thanks,
    Mohammad Saeed

    Hi,
    They are both used for 10Gig interfaces.  The difference is the connector type.
    SFP+ is LC and X2 is SC.
    You can not put an SFP+ into an X2 slot or X2 optic into a SFP+.

  • Difference between ok_code and sy-ucomm

    Hi,
    Can any one tell me the difference between ok_code and sy-ucomm

    Hi,
    Actually OK_CODE and SY-Ucomm are the same. But experts suggest use of OK code for following reason:
    In each PAI event that a user triggers by choosing either a pushbutton on the screen or an element in a GUI status, the corresponding function code is placed into the system field SYST-UCOMM or SY-UCOMM and placed in the OK_CODE field (as long as the function code is not empty). Empty function codes are placed in neither the SY-UCOMM field nor the OK_CODE field.
    In your ABAP programs, you should work with the OK_CODE field instead of SY-UCOMM. There are two reasons for this: Firstly, the ABAP program has full control over fields declared within it, and secondly, you should never change the value of an ABAP system field. However, you should also always initialize the OK_CODE field in an ABAP program for the following reason:
    In the same way that the OK_CODE field in the ABAP program and the system field SY-UCOMM receive the contents of the corresponding screen fields in the PAI event, their contents are also assigned to the OK_CODE screen field and system field SYST-UCOMM in the PBO event. Therefore, you must clear the OK_CODE field in the ABAP program to ensure that the function code of a screen is not already filled in the PBO event with an unwanted value. This is particularly important when the next PAI event can be triggered with an empty function code (for example, using ENTER). Empty function codes do not affect SY-UCOMM or the OK_CODE field, and consequently, the old field contents are transported.
