Urgent....Forcing validation on tab

I am doing ADF BC Application. I want to force validations(client and server) on tab.
please Help.

I am trying to do both client and server side validations.
I Have a creation form with 2 fields and a editable table.
Now 1st condition
In the editable table, the user can modify any no.of records. But every time forcing a refresh condition on pressing tab does no good.
2nd condition
How to check for null condition for the fields in the editable table.

How do I turn off tab groups?It forces the same tabs to reopen in next session

I upgraded to 6.0.1 and experimented with the tab groups. Now I cannot turn it off. It seems to force the same tabs to be opened with the next session. I had (and still have) the warn me when I close multiple tabs. It overrides that option if I click the close the window. It just closes the firefox window and reopens all the tabs with the next session. This nullifies the best feature that firefox had over chrome.
Please help me to get my old Firefox back...

I like them. I want them to stay attached and open all of them when I open FF.
I just wish there was a way to lock them at a particular point.
Occasionally, I mistakenly close a batch of tabs from my second screen... when I close my primary screen, it forgets the second screen tabs, and I have to reopen and regroup the tabs I closed by mistake when I re-open FF...
I love tabs and wish there was a way to keep them in spite of the fact that I might occasionally close them in the wrong sequence by mistake from time to time ...
Any recommendations for locking the tab groups once configured?

Spry Validation in Tabbed Panel

I've created a form that has a number of sections which I
have separated out using a spry tabbed panel. So far, so good.
On one of the panels, however, is a select box that is
required, so I have used a spry validation widget to look after it.
Now, if the select box hasn't been used then and the submit button
is clicked while one of the other panels is open, because the
validation widget halts the form it makes it look as though nothing
has happened. The warning message is only visible when the correct
panel is open.
My question is this: how do I either (a) force the panel with
the error on to reopen or (b) make the error message show up
elsewhere on the page so that it is visible? I tried positioning it
absolutely above the whole panel but it still only shows up when
the relevant panel is oen.

I have actually added multiple tabbed panels inside of tabbed
panels as well as collapsible panels inside of tabbed panels and
vise versa. This works across all browsers (IE 6 & 7, FF 2,
Safari 2 & 3).
The key for me was to use <div style="clear: both"> (I
put a comment here to satisfy IE6) </div> at the bottom of
the tab, before the closing of the tab since I was using a lot of
floating within the tabbed panels.
If you share some code, I'm sure someone could give you a
more specific answer.

Why are internal pages giving the error message "The address isn't valid" (New tab and session restore)?

Upon restarting firefox today, I was met not with the usual session restore page to which I have grown so accustomed, but an error page stating:
"The address isn't valid
The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.
Web addresses are usually written like http://www.example.com/
Make sure that you're using forward slashes (i.e. /)."
This also appears when I open a new tab. I've lost all of former tabs (of which I had a TON) and my easy access to my most visited sites that new tab usually gives me. Manually punching in about:sessionrestore, about:welcomeback or about:newtab all give this same error message.
I've already tried restarting in safe mode, and have reset firefox through the troubleshooting page- neither helped in the slightest. In fact, I "fixed" the about:newtab by changing it to :blank instead, and that got reverted in the Reset. Did the most recent update change how the internal pages are handled or something?
I'd like to fix things back to how they're supposed to be. I end up having to reset Firefox about 5 times a day whenever it gets greedy with my memory, which has never been more than a minor annoyance thanks to the good system restore. But if I can't repair this then it may be time to move on.
Any ideas?

I stated in my initial question that I already went through safe mode (and had also tried the theme thing), but regardless, I have tried again. No dice. They're still not fixing the problem.

Urgent: Stack Canvas in Tab canvas

Hi,
I have a very urgent requirement. Please help me solving this.
I want to have One tab canvas which has three tab pages.
On the First Tab i want to fetch the data from some table say XX_CUSTOM_TABLE.
Now, This should be displayed in Tabular format with Horizontal and vertical scrolling as the table has many columns.
Please give me step by step instructions so that it could be implemented quickly.
P.S : I am using Oracle forms 6i.

1. When i open the form only the fields added in the tab canvas are visible.
Where u have drawn the stack canvas,you need to create in the main canvas where ur tab canvas is there and u need to drag it to tab canvas.Have u created the trigger when tab_page_changed?
2. when i change the tab page from tab 1 to tab 2 and then again get back to tab 1, then the stack canvas fields are visible and the fields in tab gets invisible.
Just place the stack canvas correctly after the fields in tab page 1.
3. The stack canvas is not horizontally scrolling.
Just go to the property palette of stack canvas and make yes to both horizontal and vertical to yes.
Do i have to create a stack canvas separately? and then how do i drag it into tab canvas. i am still not getting this. because.
when i open the tab canvas page i do not find the stack layout so that i can drag it like a normal text item.
Yes u need to create a stack canvas separately. Just open the Mani canvas the tab pages are there, then in that click the stack canvas icon and create a stack canvas and create all the fields, and move the stack canvas to the tab page. And u need to create a when tab page changed trigger at form level.

Validation on tab and submit

Hello gurus,
I have four tabs on a page the first tab corresponds to page 1 and so on.. second tab for page 2 , third tab for page 3 and fourth tab for page 4.
in every page i got a submit button . The user can select submit button or the tab to go to next page .
I have implemented validations on a page and on submit button the validations are getting validated but not on tab .
how to associate the same validations for the tab too ... so that the validations can be implemented irrespective of whether the user submits the button or the tab.

Using a tab you wold navigate away from the current page. You can check if some changes were made on the page (othervise a validation doesn't make sense) and ask the user if he would like to save the changes before he leaves. See this example:

URGENT - Is the SPDIF Tab supposed to be greyed out on the Titanium HD? Mine is...

I'm trying to setup my audio workstation for production next week.
Is the SPDIF Tab supposed to be greyed out on the Titanium HD? I bought this card because I had read it had a optical in. Mine is greyed out. Is there a way to un-grey it? I can't use my inputs!!

Kokchoy-CL it's also grey out on my SPDIF input settings on my Titanium champ card also. I think it's well know driver bug.

Af:inputDate with both date and time: modal popup forces validation

Hello,
I am using an af:inputDate with an af:convertDateTime type='both' (displaying date and time).
When the calendar popup is shown it's a modal popup. I guess it is because of the type='both'?
My problem is: when the modal popup is shown I get also the validation popup with errors (for example required fields) which is shown too.
Maybe someone could help?
Is there a way to force non-modal popup for this kind of calendar?
Is there a way to stop validation if I am already displaying another popup?

How to force validator method instead of data type validation in af:table

This post will probably once again illustrate exactly how new I am to the Java/JDeveloper world so thanks in advance for any help! I have tried searching but couldn't find anything that seemed to mirror my problem.
I am using a modification of Frank's idea on how to individually color table cell backgrounds.

My intention was to use this along with custom validation to color cells with invalid values. It was a user request that it be done so as to quickly spot input errors (when updating records) if someone had missed the initial faces message and was no longer in the field that generated the error. It works fine for fields in my af:table based on VO attributes with varchar2 types but the 2 values with float and number types handle character input with a faces message "Not a number" and then do not seem to process the validator. The reason I (think I) need to use the validator in addition to Franks code is that in the validator code I use an addpartialtarget to the uicomponent that refreshes the background color if it changed in the backing bean.
FYI the project is based on ADF BC/JSF.
I tried gave the full use case as suggested so you understand what I am trying to accomplish and if you have a better way to accomplish this please let me know as well.

Frank (or anyone else who might offer some advice),
I thought that solved my issue as I could see the validator getting triggered, however something else is now happening. It seems to pass through the validator once for each of the values on my table with the invalid input I entered on one of the numbers, "a" in this case, and then once again through the color change backing bean but at that time the invalid input reverts to the original input and the change is rendered on the af:table as well. Any thoughts ? I put a print in the validator method, in the method that gets called from the validator (checks to see if value can be converted to float) , and then the color change bean (which also calls the float validation test) and pasted the output below.

Field validation with Tab Key

I am writing an application in which I must validate the data a user enters into a textfield when the user presses the "Tab" key. I have added a KeyListener to the textfield and when this java code is run as an applet the KeyListener catches the Tab key and all works fine. When I run this as an application, the Tab key does not seem to be caught at all by the Key Listener.
Has anybody else had this problem on the IPAQ, if so, do you know a solution.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I've been having this problem as well. I have created my applet using Visual Cafe 3 (Java 1.1). When I run this in Jeode it work great, Personal java works great, MSVM works great, but when I try to run using Sun Plugin 1.4.2_02 the tab key events are never fired.
Does anybody have a solution for this? Unfortunately, we are stuck developing with an older version of Java because of Visual Cafe.

URGENT - Forcing a custom locale in the BC4J/JBO framework

I tried to get the SessionImpl and forced a new Locale, but it seems it is in the JBOimpl first set, so anything I tried had no success.

Calling alter session will change how numbers and dates are rendered by the database, but the business components still store them as Numbers and Dates, rendering them in their own way. How do we change the way jbo.domain.Numbers and jbo.domain.Dates are rendered as String?

Urgent Apex validation required.

In my application i have following items like
Select List: Emp No
Select List: Emp name
Text Box:where they can enter same Emp Name
Text Box:where we can enter description.
Now the requiremnet is Description can not null.
cas1: When we select Emp No & Emp Name i will be dsiplaying descrption and it will be in readonly.
Case2: If we enete manaulaly in Text box of Empname then description text box will be in editable mode which helps user to enter the descritpion.
I have a problem in case 1 assuimg that if we do not have description for selected emp No & name and when we clik on save button i having call a Item not nul validation staying that "Description can not be null".
But this should happen only for case2 when we enter manually, but for case1 i need to handle error message some other way.
How do we can achieve this?

Put a condition on the validation which runs when the Emp Name text item is NULL (Item is null).
Have another validation when that item is NOT NULL for case 2

Urgent: Form Validation on invalid default value.

We have a user that edited a form to use date validation on a
field that has a default value set to DD-MON-YY. Clearly, this
will not work. The problem is that when I go in and try and
restore it from an archived version, it will not allow that.
The page does not display any of the form elements when I try
and edit, and thus I can not change it back. We really need to
get this working again. If anyone can give a suggestion other
than restoring from a system backup, I would appreciate it.

Nevermind. We just deleted the new form version instead of
trying to create a version from an archive and it is working
again. Pretty poor functionality, but that is just the way
things are.

Force bookmarks nav tab to open for a PDF

Hi everyone,
I'm creating a nice PDF with bookmarks, but if the people I send it to don't have the bookmarks navigation tab then they don't realise they can navigate my document easily.
Is it possible for me to create a PDF that automatically turns on the Bookmarks navigation tab when it opens?

I am having the same problem. I am using 8.1 and create my PDF and then set my Initial View to "Bookmarks Panel and Page". The I save the PDF. When I open it at my desktop, the bookmark panel opens along side the document. Nice. But when i post it on the web the bookmarks panel does NOT open.
Can anybody tell me why?

Workflow Substitutions - Force Validity End Date

Is there a way I can configure Business Workplace Substitution Validity date from and to dates to fall within a specific range? Can I prevent someone from using the default 12/31/9999 date when creating a substitute?

Well for starters a lot depends on:
a) What release/environment are you using?
b) What type of substitution - user to user or position to person are you using?
If you are using position to person, that's HR infotype A210 so you could use HR Structural Authorisations to only allow the infotype to be created e.g. up to the end of the current year.
If you are using user to user, its a bit harder. In that case its based on table HRUS_D2, which only checks the end date is a valid date.
So you would really have to code in an additional check from wherever you are maintaining the data.
So now the question is, how do your users maintain substitutions? i.e. in which release/environment? using which maintenance tool? Then you need to check out how that tool works.
E.g. you might be using the API SAP_WAPI_SUBSTITUTE_MAINTAIN or the table maintenance generated for HRUS_D2.
E.g. if its just the table maintenance view, you could add a table maintenance generation "event" with your additional check (go to the table maintenance generation and try menu Environment > Modification > Events).
Unfortunately the other maintenance tools use function modules - none of which currently offer any BADIs or user exits for adding additional checks. So at this stage it would be a mod. But a good thing to ask for in a development request perhaps.
