URGENT HELP!!. Applying 8.1.7.4 patch in different Oracle Homes.

Hi all,
We are using 8.1.7.0 on SunSolaris OS(5). We've 4 oracle instances running on 817 and one on 8174. They are all in different oracle homes.
Oraclehome1 - 8170
Oraclehome2 - 8174
When I tried to put 8174 patch on Oraclehome1 the installation terminates without installing the software and its not giving any errors. In oracInventory logs it displays the following version numbers.
8.1.7.4 > 8.1.7.4
I also tried to reinstall full software on Oraclehome1. It is also failing with link errors.
How can I install 8174 patch in oraclehome1? OR how can upgrade the oracle instance under oraclehome1 to 8174?
Thanks for any inputs.
Regards

Yes I did shutdown the database and stopped all other services running on the machine.

  • Can we apply one off or any patch in the OWB Home

    Hi,
    I have OWB and Oracle DB installed in same server.
    OWB Version - 10.2.0.3.0
    DB Version    -  10.2.0.5.0
    I need to know that, can we apply CPU/PSU/Oneoff patches to the OWB Home. Is there any patches like that specifically for OWB.
    As I am new bee on OWB please provide your inputs on this.
    Thanks
    V

    I get the same issue. I thought that it's a problem in a security - the catalog pane is clear in a union report. But saved filters work in 11g. I migrated catalog from 10g to 11g and I see saved filters in the conditions. But you may add saved filters directly into xml. Go on Tab Advanced and edit Analysis XML. You have to add code like this
    <sawx:expr xsi:type="sawx:savedFilter" path="/shared/FOLDER/_filters/FOLDER/FILTER_NAME" name="FILTER_NAME"/> in a right place.

  • Urgent Help !!!  Export data into insert format (Oracle Sql developer)

    Hi all,
    Please help , when i try to export ms access table which have 400,000 over rows to insert format using oracle sql developer 1.5.5. After the export have done the exported file xxx.sql is empty.
    Is it because of too many rows? or what tool or function should i use for exporting table with many rows.
    It used to have exported successfully with
    Insert into table( ) values ();
    Insert into table( ) values ();
    Insert into table( ) values ();
    Insert into table( ) values ();
    ----- when i try to export table with over 10,000 row.
    Regard,
    Tun

    Another option is to export your file as Formatted text (space delimited). This will create a fixed format file. You can either create an external table to access the file or use sqlloader to load it. In your control file or access parameters you will specify the positions of the fields you are interested in. Your control file will look something like this:
    OPTIONS (BINDSIZE=50000,ERRORS=50,ROWS=200,READSIZE=65536)
    LOAD DATA
    CHARACTERSET US7ASCII
    INFILE '/home/FIXED_FORMAT.dat' "FIX 58"
    CONCATENATE 1
    INTO TABLE "EMP2"
    APPEND
    REENABLE DISABLED_CONSTRAINTS
    "ID" POSITION(1:2) INTEGER(2) ,
    "REGION" POSITION(3:3) INTEGER EXTERNAL(1) ,
    "DEPT" POSITION(4:6) INTEGER EXTERNAL(3) ,
    "HIRE_DATE" POSITION(7:14) DATE(8) "mmddyyyy" ,
    "SALARY" POSITION(15:19) DECIMAL(9,2) ,
    "NAME" POSITION(20:34) CHAR(15)
    SQLDeveloper does not currently provide an option to import fixed format files.

  • Displaying Icons on buttons --Urgent Help Please

    Hi All,
    I have been trying to display icons on push buttons. This is what I did after reading the white papers. Still it does not work. Please help.
    1. Created a folder on my Oracle home called images
    2. From Ms Dos ran d:\OracleHome\jdk\bin\jar.exe -cvf d:\OracleHome\forms90\java\images.jar *.gif
    3. Changed the formsweb.cfg
    imageBase=codeBase
    archive_jini=f90all_jinit.jar,images.jar
    ( here I even tried Flip flopping the two values. The Jinitior part wored but the image still does not show.)
    4. Saved the file , started the listner and ran the test form.
    5. Named the Icon file name to Aflist (no extensions)
    DOES NOT WORK.
    Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Help.
    Many thanks in Advance.

    Frank,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I have opened the .jar file and saw that it is having the full path. myImages.jar is created in oracle_home/forms90/java directory. No luck.
    Now, I have some question about formswerb.cfg file, I do not see any section pertaining to the form that I developed and deployed. How is this config file referenced when my FORM is running on the browser?
    # 1) Runform arguments:
    #form=test.fmx
    form=EMP1.fmx
    userid=I changed the form to EMP1.fmx, but even with test.fmx file in place, my EMP1.fmx runs just fine. I am baffled with the arrangement here.
    Can you explain or direct to some documentation, where I can find precise information about what the following files do, from a developer stand point, what changes do I need to make in these files before deploying the forms on the browser.
    forms90.conf
    formsweb.cfg
    forms90.propertiesI will be very much thankful for the information.
    Thx,
    Sri

    Solve this. Patch just screwed the meta devices, changed vfstab in single user mod and it booted fine.

    After reviewing the FAQ:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-u44m1p7-installing-upd ates-ccm.html
    I uninstalled Photoshop CC and re-installed it, after doing so the installation started the patch but failed it..

  • OSA VB error - Urgent Help is needed

    Dear friends.
    I am using Oracle Sales Analyzer Vs 1.5.2.1 Rev.1.534g
    I am facing the following problem when I am trying to use the Custom Aggregates menu. I receive the following error:
    VB error #14 occured: Out of String Space
    \nfrmDSAggregate: FormLoad\nDSAG: SetupAG\nPMCatGetEntryList. This Application maybe in an unstable state. Do you wish to continue?
    If I choose Yes, it brings up the menu however with no data and no possibility to do anything. If I choose NO the program closes.
    Can you please help me deal with this problem? I urgently need to work on the data and I am stack!
    Please send directly to [email protected]
    Many thanks in advance
    George

    Not sure if it might help but take a look at Patch.5032548.

  • Urgent Help (Insert Jdev10.1.3.3.0)

    Hi all,
    I need urgent help. I want to simple insert, update process to custom table on R12.0.6 using Jdev10.1.3.3.0. My custom table have primary key. I follow the tutorial step by step. I can do the same thing R11i using Jdev9.0.3 on other platforms. Here I can also do cretae or update process with ADF. However here there is no IAS server. I have to use OAF. I check all data types length.
    My code is:
    in AM.Impl.Java
    public void createEmployee()
    OAViewObject vo = (OAViewObject)getHesAvivaVO1();
    if (!vo.isPreparedForExecution())
    vo.executeQuery();
    Row row = vo.createRow();
    vo.insertRow(row);
    // Required per OA Framework Model Coding Standard M69
    row.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    } // end createEmployee()
    public void apply()
    getTransaction().commit();
    } // end apply()
    In controller:
    public void processRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    if (!pageContext.isFormSubmission())
    OAApplicationModule am = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    am.invokeMethod("createEmployee", null);
    public void processFormRequest(OAPageContext pageContext, OAWebBean webBean)
    super.processFormRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    OAApplicationModule am = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    if (pageContext.getParameter("Apply") != null)
    am.invokeMethod("apply");
    In EO impll.java XXNTC_HESAP sequence for primary key HES_MAP_ID
    public void create(AttributeList attributeList) {
    super.create(attributeList);
    OADBTransaction transaction = getOADBTransaction();
    Number hesap = transaction.getSequenceValue("XXNTC_HESAP");
    setHesMapId(hesap);
    Whatever I've tried I get the same error:
    oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.DMLException: JBO-26041: Failed to post data to database during "Insert": SQL Statement "INSERT INTO XXNTC_AS400_HESAP_MAPPING(AS400_HESAP_NO,SEGMENT2,SEGMENT3,CREATED_BY,LAST_UPDATED_BY,LAST_UPDATE_DATE,HES_MAP_ID) VALUES (?,?,?,?,?,?,?)".

    Thanks.

    nope, its not the reason why you got that error.
    You got the error in a particular SQL statement.
    If something wrong with characters in the DBC file then your jdev would not have connected to the database in the first place.
    If are not connected to the database, there is no way you can get any database errors.
    You would have solved the problem either unknowingly or through different set of Data.
    cos its really the problem with the data thats getting inserted.

  • Urgent help!!!!!!Regarding the Credit Memo for oracle project customer invoices

    Hi,
    Can somebody help me in this issue
    we have a requirement from the users that they dont want the system to apply
    the credit memo automatically on the invoice when it released from the projects
    Scenario1: Invoice already been paid now they want to create a credit memo,
    system dont allow them to cancel the invoice the only way as per the theory is
    create a negative invoice and adjust it but the issue here is when ever you
    create a negative invoice it creates as invoice not credit memo which will be
    confusing to the users.
    in this case can we use billing extension to create the transaction type as
    credit memo when ever the invoice has negative amount?
    Or let me know if there is a way to perform this step?
    Scenario2: Invoice is created but they dont want to create a credit memo
    against that invoice since it gets applied automatically, the customer
    requirment will be they want to apply the credit memo for any future invoices
    as requested
    Is there a wya to have a credit memo created with out auto applying to an
    invoice, so that user can apply when ever they want
    what is credit memo on accoutn how it works with these above scenarios.
    sicne i tried setting up but the credit meo or concession is getting appled to
    the particular invoice automatically
    need urgent help required on this issue !!!!!
    Regards
    Lavanya

    Hi,
    For Scenario 1 you have two options:
    1) Update the AR transaction type extension for project invoice- Identify negative amount invoice and change the transaction type to project credit memo. This will update the transaction type on negative invoices before they are interfaced to Oracle AR.
    This is preferred option
    2) Update AR invoice Pre-processor to do the same thing.
    There is no standard setup which will allow you to change trx type of negative invoices.
    For Scenario2 - I dont think there is any direct way to create a credit invoice from Projects and keep it unapplied (again, apart from creating a negative amount invoice). You can create a credit memo in AR and use it to apply against future invoices.

  • Applying oracle patch set for Oracle 10.2.0.4

    Hi All,
    I need some clarification on below suggestions from SAP,
    <div class="jive-quote">there is also no optimizer mergefix installed in the database. This can lead to big performance problems due to wrong Oracle Cost Based Optimizer decisions. SAP therefore requires the installation of so called SAP Bundle Patches. Please refer to
    SAP note #1137346 - Oracle 10.2.0: Patches/patch collections for Oracle 10.2.
    It is mandatory to install the most current available SBP in SAP environments.</div>
    I have Oracle 10.2.0.4 and AIX 6.1 for my all SAP systems, please guide me what exact steps I have to follow, as this note contains information about the relased oracle patch set but doesnt have information about how to apply.
    I never applied any oracle patch set before and very new to all this, so your solution will help me a lot in this task.
    Regards,
    Ramesh.

    Hi Ramesh,
    Firstly, go to "http://service.sap.com/swdc -> Software Downloads -> Database Patches -> Oracle -> Oracle 10.2.0.4  -> OPatch"  then download and install OPatch_10205_Generic_v0.zip
    Secondly, go to "http://service.sap.com/swdc -> Software Downloads -> Database Patches -> Oracle -> Oracle 10.2.0.4  -> Database RDBMS -> Generic (32-bit / 64-bit)" then download and install "Pre-Upgrade Information Utility utlu102i.sql (zipped)" and "p8350262_10204_Generic.zip"
    Thirdly, "http://service.sap.com/swdc -> Software Downloads -> Database Patches -> Oracle -> Oracle 10.2.0.4  -> Database RDBMS -> AIX5L (64-bit)" then download and install "SAP_102048_201106_AIX.zip"
    You can find readme fles in the zip files.

  • Applying 10.2.0.3 Patch (Solaris SPARC 64)

    Hi,
    I'm a little unclear on how I need to proceed to apply the 10.2.0.3 Patch. I currently have 3 9.2.0.6 databases running on a single server. I've created a new Oracle Home and installed the 10.2 database server software. I have NOT upgraded any database yet. Do I apply the patch first, then upgrade the databases or do I upgrade the databases to 10.2 first and then apply the patch?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi, you must the apply the pacthset first to 10g ORACLE_HOME and after make the upgrade process for the databases from 9i to 10g.
    Regards.
