Urgent Help, Re Nokia Backup / Content Copier

Help,
I need to gain access to a *.nbu file, This Content Copier has some old Numbers in it, And I need to open it without the Headache of Restoring it on another phone and going thru loads of numbers.
anyone know if Nokia do a piece of software that opens the *.nbu files so I can retreive some VERY VERY important information please???

Awwww, sorry to hear your shoes and headache. There are some really good sales on at the moment and you may just pick up something real cheap.
I think you might have to decide between the hassle of restoring it to a phone or paying $49. It really doesn't take that long to restore it to a phone so I would recommend you trying that. I'd do it for you myself if I could.

For this do i need to create respective tablespaces? or import will directly create the tablespaces? it import will create then where i need to make the changes of the datafile names?

Just opening Nokia Maps application with newly formatted memory card should create the necessary folder structure to be recognised by Nokia Suite. You could try copying existing E:\cities and .qf file if present on memory card to folder on your PC for safe keeping and delete these from memory card and re-open Maps and try again to download regional mapping.

Urgent help with Nokia E71 back up/ restore

the problem this morning when phone started switching on and off by itself. As I had similar problem recently (and got new handset), I tried to back up the content. the back up went well as far I could see and i was asked to restart the phone. once restarted the contact/ emails/ text messages/ calendar went back to the old (1st back up). How can I restore this to todays details.

I really suggest to Nokia to make a rollback to the previous version for the firmware. As a faster solution I suggest to rename the old one (v. 6.xx) into something like v9.84. I have an open case since 3 weeks ago at Nokia and nothing's happend. The problems with this new firmware are:
I. The phone backup cannot be restored after firmware upgrade. The message is: "Restore must be done on the same model where backup file was created". This is really stupid...
II. The modules from OVI or PC Suite do not recognize the connected phone. Outlook Syncronization is not possible. So, if you make Fw upgrade, you will lose all the contacts and tasks and you can't restore them in any way. So, don't make Fw upgrade!!!
III. Calendar is not available anymore with the new Fw. Error is: "The calendar view could not read the entries from your device"
IV. At list "Calculator" app is missing from the Applications Menu.
OBS: I've done tests with OVI and PC Suite on Windows 7 and Windows XP SP3, so, Nokia can't accuse Microsoft for a incompatibility. Also Nokia must know that everything was running absolutely perfect with the old Firmware. But this is the Nokia Testing Dept.'s job, not mine!!!
I don't understand how this new firmware passed the tests, but the Testing Manager really have to do something!

Urgent help with Nokia 208 Dual SIM

Hi all,
I have a new Nokia 208 Dual SIM type RM-949 (English & Chinees).
I wish to install Hebrew on it but I can't find an appropriate firmware.
Does anyone knows if there's such version around the net?
Can I install the RM-948 instead? Will it support the Dual SIM function?
Is there an RM-956 version with Hebrew and if yes, can it be installed on this model (RM-949)???
Please help.............. I'm stuck........

The Dual-SIM version was specifically made for specific regions mainly for developing markets (esp in Asia-Pacific). Hence, language packs available are limited or made available only to those countries.

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum.
If you do not recall your Nokia Messaging login the best thing to do is to contact Nokia Care by phone, mail or chat (where available) to get your account reset or removed so you can set it up again.

Urgent Help for Nokia 6670

I am employed for Coca Cola at Mexico, in the company we develop a program in Java for the Nokia 6670, which registers the sale of our product to the clients. This program comes out into the server for Bluetooth. Now well we cannot unload cellular several simultaneously for that all the Bluetooth of these equipments have Mac Address the same (00:02:5b:00:a5:a5), nowadays we have 200 of these equipments. Is it possible they to change this Mac Address? I am grateful for the help that they could give us.

I purchased a Nokia 6070 with a data cable DKU-5, downloaded the latest PC suite and installed into my Windows XP Pc. When asked I connected the phone to the cable and PC. The PC sees the phone but when i try to connect to the internet it say "No MODEM FOUND". When i checked the website it says the modem drivers would be installed automatically but apparently not. for some stupid reason , i was told my memory was full and to delete some data or whatever, stupidly i did and now i have no tones, pictures, and lots of sentimental messages etc. !i have just got the stupid phone , its a nokia 6500 slide and is now practically useless.

E63 Firmware Updated now Content Copier "Hangs / H...

Good evening.
This is my first post here and it's a cry for help:
I updated my E63's firmware this (10/9/09) evening and then did the restore from PC Suite Backup "Nokia Content Copier", downloaded fresher versions of 3 or 4 applications, redid my email accounts and, once everything was back the way I wanted it, tried to do a backup via PC Suite to "gel" my changes should I have trouble down the road.
PC Suite Backup "Content Copier" goes through 7 of the eight progress points it lists without a hitch. On reaching the eighth "Settings" stage and displaying "67%", it stalls out... I've waited over an hour for it to resume / finish / error... 3 times! The program responds fine on the PC (WinXP) when I abort the backup.
Any suggestions or ideas are most welcome at this point - I feel rather vulnerable not having a backup of my data to fall back on...

Cannot backup my N6260 in Content copier

When I use the content copier to backup, it backs up to 10% then I get an error " Connection to phone was lost. Please reconnect and start backup" on the PC while my phone shows the error "App.closed Srcs" Then if I retry the backup, nothing happens but the status reads "No information about the latest backup is available. If you have used content copier before, use restore to search for files
What's a good solution?

Restart your phone and after that run Get Connected wizard after you installed 6.81.13 (Get Connected wizard updates newest version of SMS plugin in phone)
If that did not help, does your Nokia PC Sync works ok?

Content Copier cannot restore backup

Last night I backed up my phone with Content Copier
using PC Suite 6.84
On a Windows XP machine
For a N73 phone.
I then upgraded the firmware on my phone. And went to restore the backup. However, Content Copier (which I now understand why it's not named Content Restorer) cannot find the .nbu file. So I checked to see if the file was really there. And yes it is in the default location. So I decided to make a copy of it and place it in a separate location and try to browse to it. But no luck.
Odd thing is that the first page says " The latest backup from this phone was made 7/31/2007 22:18". Which tells me it knows the file is there.
So out of curiosity I tried backing up the N80 at the house. And same thing, it backs up fine and doesn't see the file to restore it. The next logical step was maybe PC Suite had a bad install I will uninstall and reinstall. Did..done...nope... neither phone can see the backup file made for it.
I have read many of the posts here and was able to restore my contacts using the Contact Transfer program. Which seems to see the files no problem. How do I get everything back to my phone?

Nope no crashes, no new software other than Software Updater. Which is currently not installed. And that did exist at the time but an old version.
Ok I just did something I HAD already tried...Simply double-clicking the backup file. I don't think I had done that since uninstalling and removing the registry entries though. But it appears to be working.
This doesn't explain why I still can't see the files when I browse for them or why they aren't seen in the default location. It restored everything but my
- Contacts (which had already been restored)
- Calendar and notes (none)
- Text messages (failed in the backing up process, but don't get me started and upon closer inspection it did restore my SMS)
- Multimedia messages(same)
- Emails(none)
Well I am going to be happy I got my files back...And hope that PC Suite has the bugs worked out before the N80 needs a new firmware. Thanks tons for your help.
PS I still haven't heard back from Nokia Support Department. Talk about Customer Service.

Content copier backup has contacts etc. but won't ...

I have a problem with Content Copier backups from my E71 to my PC.
1) I choose to backup everything.
2) Backup proceeds, but says there was an error: on viewing logs there is nothing listed under "These items could not be backed up" heading. Backup log says contacts, messages, calender have all been backed up.
3) On finishing backup my E71 is sometimes left with a semi-blank Home screen, and hung. Have to remove battery to get it working again.
4) On trying to restore this backup, contacts, messages, notes, calendar aren't listed as being included in the backup.
Installing the trial version of Noki shows that the backups DO indeed contain contact details. But presumably there's something in the backup file that makes Content Copier think that contact details aren't in fact there, or that they're corrupted.

I don't think it's the phone.
I've now tested using Content Copier to do backups on my laptop. This still had PC Suite 7.0.9.2 on it, and the backup completed without error, including "Settings" to backup phone-specific settings. I then upgraded PC Suite to 7.1.18.0 and now the backup fails if I have "Settings" selected.
I've also tried completely uninstalling PC Suite and reinstalling 7.1.18.0 but I still get failed backups.
PC Suite 7.0.9.2: backup works correctly, including "Settings"
PC Suite 7.1.18.0: backup fails if "Settings" are selected to be backed up
I've opened the backup files in Write, and both failed and completed backups contain Contacts data in VCARD format (which is presumably why Noki could see contact data), but the completed backups also have another 18Mbytes of binary data that are missing from the failed backup files (presumably the phone-specific settings stuff).
It would be nice if Content Copier could allow me to extract the Contacts and Calendar data from a failed backup: the data is in there!
I've been communicating all this with Nokia Europe Support, so hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Copying contacts from N95 to 6233 by help of Nokia...

I try co copy 475 contacts from N95 to 6233 by using PC Suite: Nokia Content Copier. My OS is Window Vista 32 bits, PC Suive ver.: 6.85.14.1, cable connection.
I started to backup the contacts from N95, thereafter I tried to restore the contacts to 6233. The restoration process looked normal untill all the contacts should have been copied (100%). Than the process aborted giving the error message: Connection to the phone was lost. Reconnect your phone and restart the import.
The import log gave the following massage: A fatal error occurred during the import operation. The data was not imported to the phone.

I have now downloaded and installed the Norwegian version of Nokia PC Suite, so now both mobiles, OS and PC Suite are in Norwegian language. I have made new backup of the N95, and tried to restore the contacts into 6233. I got the same error messages, unfortunately!

Content Copier crashed when I backup memory of pho...

In process backup crashed Content Copier with error "Unexpected error (0x80100011). Restart Content Copier application and try again..." after 25%.
I have WinXP SP2, MS Outlook 2003 SP1, firmware 5.5.
It doesn't started any application on phone when runnig backup.
Can you help me?
