Urgent Help to Startup Mac OS lion

Every time I go to startup my mac I get the following error:
panic(cpu 1 caller 0xffffff7f807b4ce7) : CPU 1 has no HPET assigned to it
How can this be fixed?

InDesign CS5 crashes on startup - Mac OSX Lion

Hi Everyone,
I've reinstalled InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator CS5 after upgrading to Mac OSX Lion,
Photoshop and Illustrator work fine but InDesign crashes on startup.
I've followed a few threads on here, one suggested creating a new adimistrator-level user on my machine - and that works, but I can't figure out what to fix in my regular user to make InDesign work in here again...

I'm having a similar problem but I haven't been able to get it to work. I created a new administer level user but InDesign still won't open under that user. I've tried the other suggestions as well with no success. Please help!!!! It really doesn't help that I'm in South East Asia traveling with no fast internet to be found. :\

N00b needs help setting up MAC OSX Lion Server for email.

I recently purchased a Mac Mini running OSX Lion Server and I really don't understand how to set it up as an email server (which was my main goal). Eventually I'd like to set it up to host just about everything else, but I can't seem to figure out how to set up my router and MX records to point to my server in order to host imap mail. I do have a static IP by the way but this N00b is confused... Please help!

Funny you should ask, because I have been spending the day trying todo the same. I just need to know what to enter into my mx record in network solutions. I can send mail, but I can't receive it just yet. Any help would be great.

Need Urgent Help Cannot install Mac OSX 10.6 on 20" intel imac

I recently purchased an intel imac an intel mac pro from an auction. When i purchased the macs i was told that no operating systems will installed and i would need to purchase and install mac osx10.
I purchased the mac osx10.4.6 family pack from the apple store online.
i put the new disc in the mac and restarted holding down c.
for some reason nothing happens and i get folder with a question mark.
I have tried this several times but nothing seems to work.
I am a complete novice with macs and migrsting from pc.

You cannot buy a retail version of Tiger that will install on any Intel Macs. You must have the original installer discs that came with the computer. You should not have purchased the computers without them nor should they have been sold to you without them.
The only option you have is to call AppleCare or go to a local Apple store and see if you can purchase the discs needed for each computer (there are different versions for each model.)

So I am selling my computer TOMORROW so I booted off the Tiger Install DVD CD and deleted my old computer files using the "7-pass." I think accidentally I did it twice, though. Selecting both icons of the harddrive...not sure if I was oly supposed to press one (one was indented on the left side, ring a bell)?

Now I can't seem to boot off the HD on the startup disk because it doesn't seem to exist. I figure that is because there is no operating system installed....so I went to install OS X off the DVD and it gets halfway-ish and then comes up with "an error occured during installation".....What can I do???

The one which isn't indented represents the whole drive, and the one or more which is indented represents a partition on that drive. If you only have one partition on the drive, both of them are the same for all practical purposes. If you have multiple partitions on the drive, choosing the non-indented one will cause the Disk Utility to act as if all of the indented ones were chosen.

Urgent help; is my mac dead?

My mac crashed so i switched it off and turned it back on to see a no entry sign. i have tried to put it in safe mode and single user mode and they dont work. i tried to reset the PRAM or whatever and that didnt work. i used a firewire to transfer my files to another mac. i have tried disk utility on the installation disk but it doesnt bring up my mac as an option to repair. i also tried to reinstall but there is no drive on the list to install on. is it dead?

Sounds like the drive is dead.
It will have to be replaced.
Do you have any backups?
If not, you are going to lose everything.

Urgent : Help, window and mac internet connection...

I'm using a iBook G4 to connect to internet using wi-fi.
Then i connect it to my Mac Pro using just a LAN cable to share internet connection.
Now the problem is, when i re-boot to window, how do i get my internet connection from my iBook?

The connection settings should be exactly the same as under Mac OS X.

URGENT Help Restoring Old Mac OS FIles After Install and No Backup

Have an older MacBook that was on Mac OS 10.5.?. A friend of mine just did an install of Snow Leopard but did not back up any of the files. He says it was a clean install.
Is there any way I might be able to restore any of the files that used to be on my system before the clean upgrade to 10.6? I am particularly concerned with iPhoto. My music is all on my iPod that I can copy off, and apps I have backups of.

Need Urgent help, I have made partition hard drive in my mac book and using OS mac & Window8 seperately... for couple of days it works great for both window & OS mac But nowadays, my pc gets restart automatically while using window & even I cant access to my Mac OS........... I can't find that model. If you open System Profiler in the Utilities folder look for the Model Identifier over in the right hand display. What do you find for the model ID? If your computer supports Internet Recovery here's what to do:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer. If Mavericks is not installed, then you can reinstall it by re-downloading the Mavericks installer.
You will need to use Boot Camp Assistant in order to create a new Windows partition, then reinstall Windows.

If the backup volume is encrypted, and you forgot the password, then you'll have to erase the volume and start a new backup. There's no way to recover the password.

i am using oracle 10g on windower server 32 bit.
i try to startup my database today, and it give me error, and it is my production database,
i need very urgent help from you.(i have no rman backup , and the data is not so necessory, since it is for student practice.)

Urgent Help! Flash Links not working on PC but fine on Mac??

I need urgent help as my client is expecting a fully working site this week and i can't seem to understand what the problem is with the site i created www.tuarard.ie. The links such as the link 'download current programme' which is on the splash page works fine on mac but not on pc. there are other various links throughout the the site as well which don't work on pc.
Could someone please help me fix this problem. i am guessing the flash in fine but that the html is causing the problems. i am a beginner in the world of html so i know very little about it.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know this is hindsight, and likely more of an opinion-based answer, but except for the original dynamic "opening" of the flash homepage there wasn't anything I saw on the pages other than the scrolling photos at the top that required flash to accomplish. Flash is cool (I use it frequently for sections of a page - banner animations, etc.), but I've found it's often more trouble than it's worth unless every section of you site will feature something amazing or compelling to use it...
It's not search engine friendly (unless all of your text is linked externally, and even then limited), the correct player needs to be loaded on the viewer's machine to view, and it opens (generally) much slower than a standard html page...
Having said that - I think the site looks great - and fits the feel of the content, (and worked fine on the mac and windows browsers I tried here...)

Flash catalyst trial has downloaded but wont install on my mac os Lion. please help!!

flash catalyst downloaded fine but when i came to installing it, no luck, it wouldnt do it. I have seen online that their maybe be problems related to mac os lion. any ideas of solutions to resolve this? i click on the install box in the catalyst folder and it comes up with an error notice.. -1712 ... means nothing to me. I spoke to apple and they dont know either... please help.

When is it coming up with error -1712? Does this happen when invoking the installer or when trying to mount the DMG file?
