Urgent - How to change UME datasource during Installation

Hey Guys,
I am installing a SAP ERP 2005 SR2 system on Windows- Oracle. My question is I want to change UME datasource to dataSourceConfiguration_r3.xml
But when I run SAPinst, during all input phase it never ask me for choosing UME datasource.
Can somebody guide me how to do it! its a Urgent one!

Hi,
You can change using the config tool.
But why do you want to change ? If your installation is an add-in then it would be the same it would refer to the abap-system if it is an addin.
Any ways you can change it ,but y default it will select the
datasourceconfigration_r3_rw.xml.
in config tool open it in configuration editor mode and then navigate to cluster>data>server>cfg>services and borwse for data source config

Thanks for your response.
It seems that sapinst itself detected our existing instances and assigned 02 and 03 for the PI instances.
We did not have to manually change the values. We have successfully completed the installation.
I am facing a new problem now. The solman instances cannot be seen in the sapmmc, only the PI instances are seen. The link is [here|Cant see instance in sapmmc after installation;. Let me know if you have the solution.

Changing shortcut location during installation of CS5

I like to know how to change the location of the installed shortcuts of Adobe CS5 during installation

I've solved the question myself just 5 minutes ago....
By default the shortcuts are placed in StartMenu -> Adobe Design Premium CS5...
We need to change this location to StartMenu -> - Bedrijfsvoering -> Adobe Design Premium CS5...
This is done by changing the OptionXML stream inside the installation MSI created bij de AAMEE...

i need to change the datasource from development environment to production server. i had configured the JNDI informations like the following in the 'context.xml':

How to change the SID during system copy

This blog /people/johannes.heinrich/blog/2006/07/07/new-features-in-db2-udb-v9--part-3 (i.e. the "new feature of V9" in this group) only
talk about the system copy without changing the SID.
In reality, we often want to change the SID during the system copy. Can we modify the script mentioned in above blog
to make SID change possible?

Hi Christy,
if you´re using export/import which is prefered you can change the sid during the parameter setting for export and import. You´ll be asked by the old sid and the new sid. For the tablespace names it is not so important because db2 is using tablespace id not the name for the internal administration.

the calenders are maintained in the source system and not in BW - if you have to change the calendar coming into BW - do the needful change for the related transaction in the source system.

it's not for the OSX system's language,
what I mean is the "macbook's" default language.
I've got a foriegn version of Macbook,
and during re-installation, all the interface is displayed in a different language, and there's nowhere to change it
yes, I can read this language so I know there's no option to change the language, but this computer will be passed to someone who will have to do another re-installation himself again, that's when he'll run into some problems
so is there a way to change the computer's default language? whenever a system is freshly installed, there also appears to have NO way to change the language either..... this is really frustrating..

How to change my client push installation version

I have one primary site server. I have updated it to 5.00.7958.1401 and this is the version shown if i check "about system center configuration manager".
When i push the client to machines by right clicking and choosing "install client"...SCCM installs client version 5.00.7958.1000.
How can I change it so my client push installs the CU3 version 1401?

If you were to mess with the files in the client folder of the site server's installation path, you would place your self in an unsupported state, though this is simple...
how about using the PATCH parameter for ccmsetup.exe? You could configure it in the Client Push Installation / Installation Properties tab...

How to change exchange rate during billing (VF02)

i already created the Billing documents from sales order and it took the exchange rate wat i mentioned in the sales document.
but still it is not release to accounting .
So i want to change the exchange rate in change of billing document.
The pop up box for that field is coming in the display mode and it is not coming in the change mode.
How to do it.
Please tell me .

But i have one querry that is when you go to billing document header there you will see exchange-rate accntg flied and above that there will be one checkbox set exchng rt and by going F1 on it is mentioned that you can give the exchange rate during billing and it can redertmine the value at billing level and also the exchange rate acctng field gives one pop up box same as it gives in sales order ,but here that box is in grey mode and in sales order it is in grey mode and how to bring this box in change mode during billing.
Please clarify my doubt.

Setting a new UME datasource during system copy

Hi experts,
As a part of an sap solution we are currently working onu2026.the following two systems have been installed: SAP NTW AS ABAP 7.01 and SAP NTW AS JAVA 7.01
In a first moment the ABAP DB was set as the UME data sourceu2026.however according to new requirements, LDAP should be set as data source. Iu2019m aware this is not possible. Apparently the only way to accomplish this is a complete reinstallation.
My question isu2026..Itu2019s possible to perform a system copy instead of re install the system? Does sapinst provide the chance to define a new UME data source during the system copy?

How can I change the pricing type from 'B' (which is in the copy rule VTFL) to 'D' during the invoicing regarding specific criteria like sales organization ?

If the unit price in sale order differs from pricing master data (VK11) and in copy control, if "B" is maintained for the field "Pricing Type", system will consider the price from master data in billing. If you dont want this new price for that particular billing document, as suggested already, go to condition tab, click on "Update" button and again double click on "G".
But please note this will work ONLY if accounting document has not been generated. If accounting document has been generated, then this button (Update) in condition tab will become uneditable.
On the other hand, if for any particular billing type itself, if you dont want "B" to consider, then in VTFL itself, change it to "G" or whatever you require.

Change media path during installation of iTunes

Hello,
I'm trying to re-package the software. This seems to work fine beside some "glitches". One of it is that the media path per default is set to "Music\iTunes" which is - in this environment - included in the roaming part of the profile. So I was asked to "shift" the media path to the local part of the profile (non-roaming). Excluding "Music" from roaming seems to be no option here.
Switching the location to another part of the profile gives me a headache as it's still "variable" (not like D:\iTunes or so). As far as I understood the path is stored in a file called "iTunes Library.itl" and this file seems to be not editable to me. Any idea how to 'tweak' the path into during the installation or may be during first startup of the program without user interaction?

The iTunes Library.itl file is the library itself. I believe the location of the active library is stored in:
<AppData>\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunesPrefs.xml
under the key iTunes Library Location:1 however it is not stored in plain text so you may need to experiment a bit to find out whether you can simply copy over an existing iTunesPrefs.xml file that targets a fixed location like the root of a drive, e.g. D:\iTunes, as part of your distribution (yes, I note that you don't really want a fixed path) or if you can decipher the encoding scheme you could patch the xml file to a provide a customised path. Alternatively you ought to be able to reconfigure the user account such that <User's Music> is stored outside of the roaming profile before iTunes is installed. By default iTunes will create its initial library at <User's Music>\iTunes where it reads <User's Music> from the registry.
Note also that the iTunes library doesn't function properly if placed at the end of a folder redirection, although this can, and probably should, be used to relocate any MobileSync\Backup folder as these too can grow quite large and you probably don't want them as part of a roaming profile, or on an SSD startup drive.

Lil bit tricky issue.
My client has asked us to change the existing Item Category values, Combinations, Category Set etc. Its been changed and uploaded successfully.
The question here is how we need to handle the category for Open Purchase Order. How to update the same.
Do we need to do manually or any other way ?

Hi John,
This is reallly a tricky issue!
I guess you cannot change the category of an existing PO's.
This field will be greyed out once we save the form...there were no profiles/other setups to enable this field.
For all new PO's since you have changed the new category value that should not be a issue.
Lets wait for some of our colleuges opinion.
I guess PO cancel should be the final option if we dont hear any new work arounds.

When there, I tried to download my free photoshop creative suite ( I was enrolled in a photography school so I was having an 'educational membership' ). At that time I contacted adobe support who was very gentle, unfortunately in the end we discovered that there was no way to have the programs in Israel. When I returned to Italy - still with some problems - I managed to download them and the problem was solved. Now the educational membership has expired, I'm no longer a student and I want to subscribe myself to one of adobe's plans BUT when I come to the paying , my residence is still set on Israel and the amount is set in NIS . And I can't change it. It's written also that I will pay an extra amount due to international transfers and so on.... I copy it here under:
