*Urgent* incomplete or malformed

Question

Hi Fellows,
I am writing a trigger with a boolean variable in declare section. I am getting the following error
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER gt_e1c10c20c31_T03
Before Insert or Update on gt_e1c10c20c31 For Each Row
DECLARE
lv_validate_recid BOOLEAN;
BEGIN
IF INSERTING THEN
lv_validate_recid :=('GT_E1C10C20C31', :new.GT_COVERAGES_RECID);
IF NOT lv_validate_recid THEN
RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-20107,'Invalid effective / expiry date ');
END IF;
END IF;
END;
Error:
5/10 PL/SQL: Statement ignored
5/31 PLS-00320: the declaration of the type of this expression is
incomplete or malformed
Will anybody let me know what is wrong in it???

BOOLEANs must be an expression that evaluates to TRUE or FALSE.
SQL> DECLARE
  2    lb BOOLEAN;
  3  BEGIN
  4    lb := (1=2);
  5    IF lb THEN
  6       dbms_output.put_line ('It''s true!');
  7    ELSE
  8       dbms_output.put_line ('It''s a dirty lie!');
  9    END IF;
10  END;
11  /
It's a dirty lie!
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
SQL> Your code does not do this.
