Urgent,: Info package prob in process chain creation..

Hi Experts,
I wanted to create a process chain for my master data, so then i started creating it, initially when i started executing info package which is the first step to undertake, the list of info packages is not generating when in clicked upon search icon. Rather it says "no data selected". Am not familiar in creating process chains. This is the first time i started creating.. Could you plz assist me with clear information in how to resolve this?

Info Package failing in Process chain

Hi,
One delta load InfoPackage fail every time in process chain with error message "Last Delta upload not yet completed".
Actually this infopackage load data in cube but in procuress chain log, it turn red and in the display message window, under tab "Chain" the request id is not the one which loaded data but different one.
This issue is delaying the upgrade and URGENT in nature.
PLEASE HELP....

Hi Anil
You are trying to complete a delta load while the previous one is not finished. Please check the monitor for the previous load. You can use the manage tab to set a load to completed, or you can delete the load.
If its hung (yellow) or in red goto the QM status in monitor and mark the QM status red. Then goto the data target and delete red request.
Go back to the delta infopackage and schedule the job again. this time it'll prompt you for a repeat delta. Click OK and the delta load will start again. This'll bring the data for the old failed delta as well as any changes or new records as well.

Just do detail view on in the process chain. It will take you to the error. See the message and then display message. You can know why the message is appearing.

How to run multiple packages in one process chain

we want to run a script logic with badi, followed by a standard move function. The BADI will perform a check and generate an error. If no error occurs, the move can continue ...
We created our own process chain, which is in fact the combination of a script logic and a move. The data package has underlaying syntax.
Problem is that the data package does not trigger the process chain ... Nothing happens when running it. When checking the status, nothing gets in here ... We assigned the correct process chain and get message a postivie message when running the package... Is this not possible?

Hi Sheldon,
we never have issues when we combine standard objects, like a cliear with a load inforprovider, or the master data integration you mentioned in your document. However, from the moment we combine a script logic with a standard package (like a move) it does not work .The data package contains the task needed for the script and for the move. the process chain is called up but always comes in error in the first step (BPC modify dynamically ) ... there is also no log when checking the view status ...

Process chain creation: error:

Hi,
i am creating process chain for the data upload of three info packages!
Two are master data IPs and one is transactional data IP. ( Requirement is to make single process chain for the master data and transactional data ).
Before transactional data upload, i had included the process delete indexes.
When i check the process chain, it says:
"process DROPCUBE variant is referenced but not in the chain "
May i know what is wrong with this process flow? i had actually done similarly in dev system it was not giving any error:

hi Narendra,
try RSPC->choose your process chain, go to menu process chain-attributes-display component (shift+F11)-> a small screen 'assign display grouping will come out', choose the 'directory' you want. save the process chain and 'refresh'.

Error in Process chain creation

Hi All,
My dataflow is:
R/3---ODS--Cube.
R/3 to ODS is Daily Load
ODS to cube is Monthly Load.
I am planning to create 2 process chains.
One I did from R/3 to ODS with following Processes.( This Chain Is OK)
Start----Execute ODS Infopackage--
ODS Activation.
Second One with (Error)
Start-----Further Processing--Delete IndexLoad Data--Create Index.
When I click on Checking View I am getting Red mark on Load data Process.
WHen I take Further Process as variant It proposed Activation of DSO process Again, I removed that process.
Details of the eRROR IS: Infopackage ZPAK_**is generated, Not able to be used as Loading variant.
Can ANy body help me on this and what could be the best way to create chain for this flow.

A. The Flow should be :
Start - > Delete Index for Cube - > Load Data (IP to load from ODS to Cube) - > Create Index for Cube.

Not able to include infopackage in process chain creation

Hi Gurus,
I'm creating a process chain. while including the infopackage its not allowing me to select the existing infopackage.
i'm geitting the message "no data selected".
First we had checked the maintain process types - if the loading process type is maintained or not, we could not find that particular process there we had created a new entry by taking the values from the table "RSPROCESSTYPES".
Now its show in the maintain process types in RSPC tcode.
But still could not add the infopackage.
any one please throw light on this.

Hi,
If your infopackage is active .. then you should be able to add in the process chain. Please check all the objects if they are active or not. secondly Execute Infopackage is the standard process type available - you dont need to activate the same. Also one rough estimate is to check with your authorizations.

Urgent Issue - Copy DTP and Process Chains in New Client Instance

We have created new client Instance ( CLNT 510 ) based on our present client ( CLNT 500 ).
We have all the process changes, application components from source system CLNT 500 and data ( both for master and transaction data ) in place for the CLNT 500.
Now we need to use the CLNT 510 for our futher development. RFC connection has been established.
Just want to know, do we need to create all the Application component trasfer , Transformation, DTP , Infopackages , Process chains again for the CLNT 510 data.
please help.

We have company implementing mutiple SAP Implementations in different countries.
Client for BW Dev is 400.
Source system for Client BWD :
ECC Client ERP Dev - 500 ( for Holland Implementation )
ECC Client EPR Dev - 510 ( for German Implementation - Instance of ECC 500)
We are completed with the Client 500 implementation.
We are starting the german implementation and they have created a intance of Holland ECC Dev client 500 for german implementation with german data.
Now they have setup 2 rfc connection in BWD 400.
Also finally when they move to QAS client they are going to integrate the data of the both countries into one client.
Presenlty I need to use ECC client 510 client for our german development.
We have around 40 SAP BI reports in our first implementation. and around 10 in our second implementation.
Just want to know, what are issues to be considered in loading master data ( will it overwrite the master data from the client 500, if i extract the master data from client 510 )...and all the other issues like can I copy all the process chains...etc from client ECC 500 to ECC 510, without creating all transformation, DTP , Infopackages to load all the master from client 510 again.
I need a broad understand on how to go about the development ...starting with Application Components transfer from source system Client 510 ....to report development. ( if possible using the already created objects....infopackages , DTP etc..)

Process Chain Creation

Hi All,
I am creating process chain.
first i have given the name and description of the process chain --> then next step is insert start process So, i have clicked on new and given the name then click on continue --> so it populates one window and it says that " Changes to Repository or cross-client Customizing are not permitted " AND ''Choose 'Display object' or 'Cancel'' .
when i clicked on display object it shows "Changes cannot be made, display user only"
and in brief it says that
Diagnosis:
In this logon client, any changes to the Repository and to cross-client Customizing objects are prohibited.
System Response:
The function terminates
Procedure:
If you still want to make the changes, contact the system administrator, who can allocate you a user in a client where you can make the changes.
What should i do ?

Hi,
Please check the Forum, You will find lot of discussion on this topic.
You can transport the process chain by collecting it in transport. Based on authorization and system setting you can create it in Production system as well but it is always recommended to transport it from DEv in order to avoid problems in future.

It is always advisable to transport the process chain from DEV to Production. You can just do this by simply gather all the necessary objects for process chain into your transport.
During the support phase, you have to monitor the data load through process chain. That can be done via transaction code rspcm. In case there is any error in the process chain ( various errors can be there, data loading error, delta error). In that case you have to go to the step of the process chain when the error occurs (it will be marked as red) , rectify the error and process the step manually at the point so that the following process finishes.
Hope this is clear now.

Info package in process chain

Hi experts,
I want to create process chain and have created a start process
variant.Now i want to include info package. I drag and dropped the
infopackage and tried to give the infopackage name but it is showing
that there are no infopackages in the bi system. I clicked on
create, a new session of bi system is opened.When i tried to drag
and drop the other objects like dtp it is showing all the dtps in bi
system.
Anyone please explain me how to include info package into a process chain.

Status of Info packages and process changes become yellow after Unicode con

Dear Friends,
We have been facing very critical issue in Production system after Unicode conversion.
Sequences of Details are provided for your reference.
1. We suspended all BW loads for 48(2 days) hours before Unicode starts and Handover the BW system to Basis.
2. Basis started doing Unicode conversion on BW and they found some standard jobs ( BI_* , Ex: BI_PROCESS_LOADING) which are released status and they assumed that these jobs would run any time so that they suspended all of them but they didnu2019t inform to BW team that they had done. We didnu2019t know that when they did that like pre-Unicode installation, during the Unicode conversion and post Unicode.
3. Basis handover the system to BW team for Unicode testing (we called five finger testing) and we didnu2019t find any issues in the testing. Again we handover the system to Basis for post installations settings for Unicode and back up things. That time we didnu2019t release any jobs to load data to BW because Basis didnu2019t inform us that we can start loads.
4. After post installation is done and basis told us that you can start loads from Monday. Entire Unicode activity had been done on weekend.
5. Before releasing all BW loads to run regularly, I found the all completed process chains status become yellow and I did further detailed analysis to find why; then found some more strange things those are as follows.
          1. Only info packages in process chains are become yellow and other process variants are fine like activation,
               DTPu2019s, index and DB stats.
          2. Requests in PSA which were completed successfully are become yellow.
          3. Info packages in the process chains are successfully completed are not updating correct status instead of green it
              showing yellow because of that other dependent objects are not triggering.
We all thought that suspension of standard jobs must have been caused the problem.
How can we change the status of IPs, PSA and process chains automatically?
We reactivate all PCu2019s and released to run tomorrow.
Could you please share your thoughts about the issue and help us resolve?

Nageswar,
A couple of questions :
1. If your previous PC runs were in yellow status - it would not impact furute PC runs..
2. If your IPAKs are in yellow - then you might have an issue with deltas happening since the last status would have been shown as incomplete.
3. Suspension of the standard jobs will not affect the status since the jobs were suspended but not the actual loads i.e the loads were not stopped halfway but only the released jobs were stopped - you might have to schedule the process chains again to get back the old schedule.
Usually in a Unicode conversion - the data is exported out of the DB and imported back - this might have caused some inconsistency in the database for the RS tables used for the monitors.
Which version of BW are you in ..?
were there any errors in the export / import procedure for unicode conversion ?
As part of testing did you check if loads went through properly ..?
Was stats run on the tables after unicode ?
Also if possible regenerate all the indices on the files.
Rerun stats and indices for all RS* tables
