The user running setup is not in sysadmin role in the reporting database. This one took a little bit longer to tackle. The SDK account (the
Data Reader and Data Writer account as well) did have sysadmin permissions on that database
    (ReportServer).
Verify that user who used in setup has sysadmin role
Also checked the Data Warehouse database (hosted on the same server) and the same permissions were in place there as well. A last check was performed on
Security > Server Roles > sysadmin.

  • Installing Reporting Services in Sharepoint Integration Mode

    1) One WEF Server - WEFServer
    2) Sharepoint App Server - SPAPPServer
    3) SQL Database Server for cubes - SQLCubeServer; The Cube server has data from some external resources/data sources.
    4) SQL Database Server - SQLDEServer
We want to install Reporting Services in Sharepoint Mode to generate Reports for SQLCubeServer Data.
Please suggest what needs to be installed for Reporting Services and where?

For performance purposes, SSRS should be installed on the WFE server.

  • Question on Installing Reporting Services and its Databases ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB

Is it possible to have the Reporting Services installed on one server\machine and the databases ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB on a different server\machine?
I have always installed both on the same machine but this architecture is being suggested.
I know that you can install the services without the databases on an instance but how do you install just the databases without the services on an instance?
    lcerni

    Hi Icerni,
Based on the current description, I understand that you want to install Reporting Services on one machine, and install Report Server and ReportServerTempDB databases on another machine.
I think it’s not supported that installing only the databases related to Reporting Services on an instance without Reporting Services. From the document: Create a Report Server Database, we can need the Reporting Services Configuration Manager tool to create
    Report Server databases.
In Reporting Services, there is scale-out deployment which refers to two or more report server instances that share a single report server database. They are used to increase scalability of report servers to handle more concurrent users and larger report execution
loads. And it can also be used to dedicate specific servers to process interactive or scheduled reports.

How can I install report service?

  • Urgent please - Reports services doesn't start

    Hi,
I have installed reports server using the command
    rwserver -install repserv.
Service is created and when I try to start the service, I get an error msg.
Error 1053: The service couldn't respond to the start or control request in timely fashion.
This is very urgent requirement for me. Could any one help? Thanks,
    Lakshmi

    1) Try this
Verify the Reports 9i Service properties and check the "Log On as" information. Be sure to specify on "This account" the user information with which the installation was made.
    For Windows/2000:
    - Start-> Settings-> Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Services
    - Double click on the Reports Server
    - Go to "Log On" tab
    - Change on the "Log On As" section to "This account" and enter the userid/password of the
    user that installed Reports Server
    - Ensure that the user account where the Reports Server is installed has administrator privileges
    and a default printer.
    - Restart the Reports Server as the new user.
(For WinNT steps will be similar)
    2) Workaround till your issue is solved is ....
Start report server as a standalone server
    rwserver server=server_name
    Thanks
    Ratheesh

  • Error TF255050 when attempting to install reporting services in TFS 2013 in-place upgrade.

    Hi,
Last week we performed an in-place upgrade of our TFS 2012 server to TFS 2013.   During the upgrade process all went well until we hit reporting.   After placing the reporting server's name in the input and click populate URLs we get the TF255050
error.  We are running a dual tier setup, the reporting server is on a different server than tfs.  (Though the tfs database and the reporting database share the server).
Myself and my partner did a lot of digging on here and have tried most everything we could find to no avail.
-We have ensured myself(installer) and the tfs service account are local admins on both machines
-Sql client connectivity tools are installed
-WMI seems configured correctly when compared to other resolutions to this issue others have posted
    note: this site
ProBlog on artiso.com was mentioned in several posts as part of a resolution but is a broken link.
-I can connect to the reporting services manager from the tfs server without a problem, as both myself and the tfs service.
-I've followed suggestions mentioned in this post (ERROR (TF255050)
    while configuring Reporting Services)
-I've also looked into windows logs on both machines and really seen nothing useful.  We do know that we can successfully talk to sql server though, as the TFS 2013 install already did so.
I could really use some direction/help on the issue.
    Thanks

    Hi Kyleco,
    Thanks for your post.
Your TFS 2013’s SQL Server instance and the Reporting Server installed on the same machine?
On your TFS 2013 Server machine, open the SQL Server Management Studio and try connect to your Reporting Server, ensure can connect successfully.
You didn’t configure the Reporting Server for your TFS 2012 Server? If yes, we suggest you in-place upgrade to TFS 2013 Server first, then manually configure the Reporting Server for your TFS 2013 Server:

    Dave

    Hello.
After having the same issue like you in a recently installed SahrePoint 2013 SP1 farm, and using the information I found in http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa905871%28v=sql.110%29.aspx, I traced with the tool procmon the operation, and finally solved
the problem after discovering a little bug.
These were the steps I performed:
1.- I installed "Microsoft SQL Server 2012 RS Add-in for SharePoint" with the command
    Msiexec.exe /i rsSharePoint.msi SKIPCA=1
2.- I executed PROCMON ...creating a filter of include the Process Name "rsCustomAction.exe"
3.- I executed a elevated Command Prompt, and going to %temp% folder (in my case C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp), executed rsCustomAction.exe /i
4.- After execute this command I obtained in the Command Prompt the error:
    C:\INSTALL\RS>rsCustomAction.exe /i

5.- Tracing the results in PROCMON, I discovered an extrange issue: The installation was looking for the command PSCONFIG.exe but in a in a folder different than standard.
The installation was look for PSCONFIG in
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\BIN\BIN
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN\BIN
    ...instead C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\BIN or C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN
So... the solution which worked for me was to create C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\BIN\BIN and place here PSCONFIG.EXE and PSCONFIG.EXE.CONFIG obtained from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
    Extensions\15\BIN
After doing it, the "Microsoft SQL Server 2012 RS Add-in for SharePoint" was installed fine as you can see en the next Command Prompt capture:
    C:\INSTALL\RS>rsCustomAction.exe /i

  • SCCM 2012 R2 Install - Reporting Services Point, Remote SRS Server

    Hi all,
Here's a brief run down of the setup so far. SCCM 2012 R2 installed on Windows 2012 R2 (SCCM01). SQL 2012 back end is off box, on a separate cluster (SQL01C01). Reporting Services for SQL 2012 is due to be installed on a different server (SRS01).
My question is, when I come to sort out Reporting Services in SCCM, will I simply need to add SRS01 into SCCM as a Site System Server and install the Reporting Services Point onto SRS01?
I realise I could simply wait for the sql guys to sort the install of SRS and then test it myself but it might be a while before that gets done so I thought I'd ask....Thanks for the help

will I simply need to add SRS01 into SCCM as a Site System Server and install the Reporting Services Point onto SRS01?
Correct, although the other way around. Remember you have to make SCCM01$ a local administrator on SRS01.

reset the counts of Error, Warning, and/or Informational status messages reported by the component. To reset the counts, right-click Reset Counts on the component in the Component Status summary in the Configuration Manager Console. When the counts are reset,

is continually reported every several minutes or seconds.  2. Noting the Message ID of the flooded status message.  3. Creating a Status Filter Rule for site "PR1" that instructs Status Manager to discard the flooded status message when

  • SQL 2012 SP1 Reporting Services for SharePoint (2013) - Install-SPRSService Not Available

So, at this point, I've blown away an otherwise functional SP2013 + SQL2012SP1 multi-server farm trying to get this to work, only to end up with the same results. Irrespective of whether I install Reporting Services before or after the SP2013 server is in
a farm, SSRS does not seem to be enabled in the farm. I cannot add a new SSRS service application (the menu item does not exist); I cannot start the SSRS service on server (because it isn't here); I cannot execute the Install-SPRSService cmd in SP (yes, the
SharePoint) Powershell (PS comes back with this error:
Install-SPRSservice : The term 'Install-SPRSservice' is not recognized as the
name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the
spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is

Quite simply, something's broken. I've followed a couple of detailed how-to's on technet and elsewhere... Right at the point when I should be able to create the SSRS service application, the wheels come off the cart. I've tried Import-Module'ing the SQLCMDLETS
and SQLPS PS modules...nothing... The strange thing is that after the installation of the SSRS, if I happen to go into the General Application Settings in Central Admin, I see a new item after Content Deployment:
    $Resources:ReportServerResources,AdminReportServerGroupTitle;
    $Resources:ReportServerResources,ManageIntegrationSettings; |
    $Resources:ReportServerResources,AddTrustedAccounts; |
    $Resources:ReportServerResources,SetServerDefaults;
When I uninstall, this goes away.
Greatly appreciate any suggestions you can offer because this is driving me crazy, and I have tried everything I can think of to get this going...

Make sure you are running SharePoint 2010 Management Shell not PowerShell.
Also make sure you are running SharePoint 2010 Management Shell with administrator privileges. Right click the icon and click, "Run As Administrator".
    You must have installed "Reporting
Services add-in for SharePoint Products" on the server where you are executing "Install-SPService".
