ipad 4 frozen during update ios 8.1.3. - did anybody know how to restart (or reset) my ipad4 from black screen with white apple logo?

Hi there did you end up getting this resolved?  I have the same exact same issue with my Ipad 4 when updating to 8.1.3....frozen on the apple logo.  Tried resetting as advised by other users but just goes back to the same logo.  Tried connecting to iTunes but device is not picked up at all.  Left it over night to run flat hoping charging might kick start something....but when I put on the charger it shows the battery charge icon but won't actually charge it.  It's really doin my head in trying to find a fix - cheers Morgan

  • Previous image flashes on the screen occasionally when opening safari. Even after clearing history and cache.

Occasionally an image from a previous website appears briefly when opening safari. I'm afraid it might do it with a site that has private information and other individuals use this ipad. Is this a problem fixed in the updates to the iOS or something different entirely.  The image flashes sometimes even after clearing history and cache.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Did you try rebooting the iPad?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Safari won't trust ANY website certificate, even after I tell it to, and i can't connect to the APP store even though I'm clearly connected to the internet.  This all started immediately following a RAM upgrade.  Please advise.

Safari won't trust ANY website certificate, even after I tell it to (click Always trust this site option), and i can't connect to the APP store even though I'm clearly connected to the internet.  This all started immediately following a RAM upgrade.  Please advise.

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. If the problem isn't solved, ask for further instructions.
    1. Are the current date (including the year) and time shown on your system clock? If not, correct them and test.
    2. Disable any third-party firewall, "security" software, or network filter.
    3. In some versions of OS X, Parental Controls has a bug that prevents loading of secure websites. Turn it off.
    4. The process by which OS X checks the validity of root SSL certificates doesn't work behind the authenticating SOCKS proxies used on some enterprise networks. If applicable, contact your network administrator. The proxy server may need to have its settings changed.

  • TS3694 Ipad air frozen while installing ios 8.1.2

When installing ios update 8.1.2 my ipad air froze and is now stuck on a black screen with a power cord pointing to an itunes icon.  I have tried connecting to power, restarting and hard resetting.  Nothing works.  Has anyone had this problem and could tell me how to fix it please??

    YOU ARE IN RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
    3. Repeat the process if necessary.

  • I amusing iphone4 not iPad and the safari can't find any web page even after reboot

the safari can't do anything and shows the operation can't complete .is there some body running into the same problem? and how you fix it?

Do you have an active internet connection either via cellular or wifi?  Are other apps able to connect to the internet?

  • How can I lock "clear history" on my iPad Safari, so that you need a password to clear browsing history?

I am looking to lock my browsing history, so that other people cannot clear the history without my permission.

You most likely have 'Restrictions' enabled on websites. Go to  Settings > General > Restrictions and check if it says 'On'. If it  does, enter you PIN and go to the 'Allowed Content' section. Under this  section there is an entry for 'Websites'. Tap this and select the 'All  Websites' option.
This should bring back the Clear History button as well as the Private browsing button.
This  is actually quite clever on part of Apple. This is a form of parental  control where you enable restrictions on the websites that can be  visited and then obviously you would want to check on the actual  websites that have been visited. Hence, Apple disables the Clear History  and Private browsing options. Apple obviously has hidden this fact,  deep. There could be a better way of doing this but, this is what we  have for the time being.

  • IPad 4 continuously resets, even after full erase and reset.

    Hi,
I have an iPad 4 32GB, approx 2 years old. It has started resetting itself at a very annoying rate. At first it was once or twice a day, now it won't ever go more than 5 minutes without a reboot.  It has the latest iOS on it, and I've even tried doing a full erase on it. Even in clean, virgin condition (not even associated with an Apple ID, let alone with any new apps installed), it still resets.
It's pretty annoying - even though it was bought in Singapore, I live in Indonesia. This model was never officially released in Indonesia, so the authorised service centre won't look at it. It's out of warranty, so I can't talk to Apple about it except by paying $39. Luckily I am going to Australia next week, so can take it to an Apple Store, but that's very inconvenient. I suspect they will confirm it's a hardware problem and offer me a replacement model (for many hundred of dollars, of course).
    Any suggestions?
    Michael

    Hi Mike,
I can imagine how irritating that is for you. The fact that you've done a full erase of the device and the issue is still ongoing, the best advice I can give you is to take it into the Apple Store when you are in Australia and they'll hopefully run further tests on it to determine why your iPad is resetting so frequently.
I'm not sure about the cost aspect of it, but I'd take it into the store, see what the technicians say and once they've examined your iPad further, they should be able to advise you on what options are available.
    Hope this helps,
    Ana

  • App downloads frozen on "waiting..." even after reboot.

A few days ago I had a download from app store freeze on waiting status. I tried restarting ipad2 and "hard reboot" as stated from some ppl in forums using both home and sleep buttos but still no luck. I tried also downloading other apps which also froze on waiting and even deleting the initial "problematic" app. Still apps are on waiting status a few days now and no reboot helps. Any other suggestions? I use ios 5

    Thank you for your replies.
    @marianfromspringwood, yes I am on a wi-fi, I don't own the 3G version
@desmond 31, clicking on the app doesn't bring anything up. I can only delete it but that doesn't solve the problem.
I also found out that I have podcasts stuck also on downloading state and won't go further. Those I can not delete.
@abilash432 I think that's what I'm going to do. Sounds Like a way to go for PCs and a device as simple as an iPad should not have problems like that.
@diavonex, I did connect it with iTunes on my putter but I don't see how I can complete the downloads there. Any more info on that?
