Urgent:is it possible to revert old g/l

hi,
i have adopted new g/l and activated it. is it possible to deactivate it and use the old g/l again. if so how??
will ther e be any adverse effects...

Priyaraj,
Refer to OSS Note # 999614 (Activating the classic general ledger). It covers the scenario when you want to activate classic general ledger system-wide (that is, for all clients) in an ERP system. To do this, you must deactivate the functions of the new general ledger.
Bear in mind that you can only do this in a test system or in a system that is not productive and has no transaction data whatsoever in it.
Note that you can and must only convert to the classic general ledger in this way if there have been no postings made with an active new general ledger in your system. If you've already made some test postings with an active new GL and if you do not need these postings, you can delete them using report SAPF020 before you use the conversion described here.
You'll have to apply the corrections as mentioned in the Note, after confirming they are applicable to your system. Please proceed with extreme caution - if this is your Productive system you are working with.
Remember to assign points if found useful.

  • Is it possible to revert back from Maverick to previous software?

Maverick is causing many issues on my system.  Is it possible to revert back?

Yes. Erase your drive and reinstall Snow Leopard 10.6.8. You may then check your Purchases page in the App Store for your prior OS X version you want, download and install it.
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
If your computer came with Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed then do the following:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion on a New HDD/SDD
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your external hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Is it possible to use old Apple Flat Panel Display (62 watt power adapter) with MacBookPro 13" Mid-2012 running 10.8.4? Tried mini display to VGA cable

Is it possible to use old Apple Flat Panel Display (62 watt power adapter) with a MacBookPro 13" Mid-2012 laptop?  Would like to use larger screen when working at home.  I have a mini display port to VGA cable and have tried to hook up the old display but it seems not to work.  When I try to activate the screen on the old display-- a window comes up in the MacBookPro and asks me if I want to shut down the computer.  What little I have read it that the MacBookPro had Thunderbolt and the old display may not be compatible?  Any assistance would be appreciated.

    11.09.12 22:16:06,148 ClamXavSentry[286]: I will quarantine infected files
This doesn't have anything to do with your problem, but it will likely cause other issues with your e-mail.
Here's my standard recommendation concerting the use of A-V software to deal with potentially infected messages:
Never use ClamXav (or any other A-V software) to move (quarantine) or delete e-mail. It will corrupt the mailbox index which could cause loss of other e-mail and other issues with functions such as searching. It may also leave the original e-mail on your ISP's e-mail server and will be re-downloaded to your hard drive the next time you check for new mail.
So, if you choose to "Scan e-mail content for malware and phishing" in the General Preferences, make sure you do not elect to either Quarantine or Delete infected files.
When possibly infected e-mail files are found:
Right-click/Control-click on either the infection or file name in the ClamXav window.
Select "Reveal In Finder" from the pop-up menu.
When the window opens, double-click on the file to open the message in your e-mail client application.
Read the message and if you agree that it is junk/spam/phishing then use the e-mail client's delete button to delete it (this is especially important when the word "Heuristics" appears in the infection name).
If you disagree and choose to retain the message, return to ClamXav and choose "Exclude From Future Scans" from the pop-up menu.
If this is a g-mail account and those messages continue to show up after you have deleted them in the above manner, you may need to log in to webmail using your browser, go to the "All Mail" folder, find the message(s) and use the delete button there to permanently delete them from the server.
To fix the corrupted mailbox index(es), highlight each one that was corrupted and choose Rebuild from the appropriate menu.

  • How do I resize the window of pages in the new version? It takes up most of my desktop. I would like to make it tall and narrow, which was possible in the old pages, but I cannot seem to do it in the new version.

I agree it is a very bad and wasteful design especially for users on small laptop screens.
You can drag it to whatever shape you want from the bottom left corner.
Click on the paintbrush to make the Format side panel disappear. However you will need to use that side panel for most formatting.

  • Is it possible to revert back from iPhoto to Pictures?

Too be quite honest I have never really liked iPhoto and especially when you sync it with the iPhone and iPad etc. Is it possible to revert back to just using Pictures?
If this is possible I would like to be able to export my iPhoto album into Pictures and then delete iPhoto.
    Cheers and Happy New Year!!

    What is your iPhoto version?
In iPhoto '11 you would need to export your iPhoto events, one by one, to folders in your Pictures folder.
Use the command "File > Export, Kind Original" to export the original files you imported to iPhoto, and use the command "File > Export , Kind Current" to export your edited versions.
To find out, which photos have been dited or not, define two smart albums (File > New > Smat album) with the  rules:
         Photo is not edited
    and the other one:
         Photo is edited
This way you can make sure to export all edited versions as well and not only the originals.

in a perfect world, you do know the recording date, and you simply scroll to that date.
in a very perfect world, all your other imports are already tagged, so just have to create a smart list 'unrated' ...
(I know those messy Events… a friend of mine constantly ignores my advice to check the time/date on his camera; on every battery swap, the cam creates a very erratic timestamp ... his actual recordings are listed as made in "2004" or in "2020" .... )

  • Is it really possible to revert IPS signatures from CSM

    Hi folks,
I've been trying to revert IPS signatures that I deployed through CSM Signature policies to the older release but it doesn't seem to be working. Contrary to it Cisco's CSM guide says:
If you later decide that you did not want to apply a signature update, you can revert to the
previous update level by selecting the Signatures policy on the device, clicking the View
Update Level button, and clicking Revert
I can't imagine it is possible as the signatures are normally compiled into xml files. How would the sensor do it ?
    Eugene

During installation a copy of files that will be replaced or updated during the installation will be copied into a backup directory.
The CLI has a "downgrade" command that can uninstall the last update, and the backup copies will be used to replace the files being removed.
A few things to be aware of:
    1) Old configuration will be copied back. So changes made since the update may be lost.
    2) This works only for Engine Updates and Signature Updates. Major Updates, Minor Updates, and Service Packs replace the complete operating system so there is too much data to try and make backup copies for.
    3) This works only for the last update installed. Once you've downgraded the latest one, you can't downgrade the previous one.
    4) This can be done through CLI, and now also available in CSM.
Here are some things to check in your situation where it appears to not be working.
Login to the sensor and execute "show ver".
Does the history in the "show ver" output show a Signature Update package as the last update installed?
If not then either another downgrade was previously done, or a Major Update, Minor Update, or Service Pack was the last package installed and can't be downgraded.
If it can't be done through CSM you might try the CLI' "downgrade" command and see if it works through the CLI or if the CLI gives you an error and explanation.

  • Possible to use old company thinkpad?

Hello, I'm new here to the forums. A company in the same building as I work was throwing away several old laptops, and a took 3 of them home.
I now have one T400, one T410 and one X201 lenovo thinkpad. I was owndering if it is possible for me to use these somehow? I have some problems/questions:
    1. All of them have no harddrive, so I guess I have to buy a harddrive for each laptop. How do I know what will fit? And do I need some kind of "carrier" to mount the harddrive? Could anyone give me some information on what I need to look for to get a hardrive that will work?
    2. It seems like all of the laptops are partly locked in BIOS, so I cannot change the boot order for instance, it says now 1. ATA HDD0, and 2. -USB HDD. Will this make it impossible for me to install windows on these?
    3. All of the laptops has been installed with windows when they were new, there is a genuine windows code under each laptop. Can I use this license somehow to legally install windows? How does that work? How do I download windows and install it on the laptops?
Sorry, for newbie questions, I would be very greatful if someone could shed some light over this.
    thanks and best regards,

    1.  You can look up the hardware maintenance manuals for each model and see how to install drives, and look up the detailed specifications for each to see what the various components are.
    2.  If you can open the BIOS on each, that's partly a good sign.  But if they had supervisor passwords for making changes, you might be out of luck.  You'd have to contact the company and try to get the PWs from their records.  Or maybe their IT guy could unlock everything for you.
    3.  Transferability of licenses can be a problem.  If those are multi-user corporate licenses, for example, they may not activate if you try to do that.  If they were single-user licenses, you're probably OK if you try to install your own.  You can download iso images for Windows 7, for example, and it will install and activate according to the type specified on those certificates on the bottom.
You have to install the same version, e.g. 7 Pro or 7 Home, or Vista whatever, depending on what you have.  I did a fresh install of Win 7 Pro 64 on my Lenovo-purchased T440p from a downloaded iso and it activated without complaint on the CoA number underneath the battery.
Good luck.  Since the company is still there, I presume, you can at least ask for help if those devices are locked down.

  • Urgent help - History window accidental revert

Hey guys, thanks for reading this. I was working on a picture for about 5 hours and I was just looking at the history window when I clicked the snapshot at the very top. Now.. I clicked it, and it reverted my document all the way back to what I am assuming was my last save (ages ago).
Then I thought, Hey! this layer is pretty usable, maybe I can just copy it and add it to my current work
Big mistake now I cant get to my current picture as the history window now only mentions the layer I copied and not the current changes in the picture i've been working on for the past 5 hours. Surely the data is still here on my computer, I didn't hear my hdd spin as though it was being deleted or anything. Is there anything I can do to get my work back?
    Thanks in advance,
    Karan

If you only made one additional step after clicking on the snapshot, you can undo and you'll see all your previous steps in the history list, then you can click on the last one listed at the bottom and get back to where you were. If you did two things after clicking on your snapshot, then no, you can't undo to get your old history back.
The next time you want to access info in a previous snapshot (which can be set to take a snapshot of your work every time you save), you can click on it and select the little menu in the right corner of the history tab and select "new document" to make a new file out of that state. Be careful because your history list will be greyed and you have to make sure to click on the last step again to get back to your last state.
And of course, as I'm sure you've learned by now, save early and save often! Five hours is much too long to be working on something without saving your progress!

  • Possible to place old emails after a new install (10.5) ???

I've recently just installed 10.5 on a new internal drive..... starting from scratch minus the applications transfered using "migration assistant". I'd like to be able to apply (or move) all of my existing email from the 10.4 drive installed to the new 10.5 drives "Mail".
Is it possible to embed them into the new mail under a newly created account?
Would I have to transfer the previous account form old drive? Would that include all old messages?
.... sure would be nice to retain all my old emails!

    Chris,
The method I have given is an "all or nothing" proposition. In other words, it replaces whatever currently exists with the old one. Any new emails will be over-written. Do not use this method if you want to "merge" your email.
There's not a really clean way to "merge" emails folders, but there are a few options from which you could choose.
One option would be to move your current "Mail" folder (in your HOME "Library" folder) to a safe location; perhaps your "Documents" folder would do. It might also be a good idea to move the current plist file to the same location.
You would then place your old "Mail" folder in the Library folder, and proceed to launch Mail. Now, you would have access to all your old email, and it would be converted to the new Mail formats. Your objective here would be to create a new "mailbox" folder, and to place any messages you want to "archive" into that folder. Make sure you gather anything you want to keep from all of your mailboxes: "Inbox," "Sent," etc. The idea is to collect everything into one folder within the Mail application.
If you now go and look inside the "Mail" directory in the "Library" folder, you should be able to locate the "mbox" directory containing the contents of your new mailbox. Look in the "Mailboxes" folder inside the Mail folder. Find the "mbox" directory (it looks more like a file, but it is really a standard folder) for your mailbox, then drag it out to your Desktop.
You could now put your existing "Mail" folder and plist file back in place, then launch Mail and use File>Import Mailbox to import the mbox file sitting on your Desktop. The above method would be good to use if you have (or had in the prior installation) multiple email accounts, multiple "custom" mailbox folders, or both.
If, instead, you know that there are only one or two mailbox folders from the old installation that you'll want to import into the new, it might be easiest to simply import them as they are. If, for example, you only want your old "Inbox," launch Mail in 10.5 as it is right now, then use the "Import" dialogue to navigate to the corresponding "mbox" folder in the Tiger installation. Easy.

Hi and Welcome to the forums!
See JSanders reply above...it is accurate. BBM is peer-to-peer...there is no server involved in the message stream, from which a record could have been kept and subsequently retrieved. As such, if it is gone from your BB, then it is gone.

  • Is a hard drive upgrade possible for an old Powerbook G4?

I just recently got a Powerbook G4 400 (the first version, I think). It only has a 10 GB hard drive and 256K memory. I would like to know if it is possible, or worthwile to buy a newer, bigger hard drive, memory and a new OS. If so, can anyone give me ideas about what to look for, models, etc...???
I am completely lost so thanks for any help!

It is possible to upgrade your RAM and hard drive and install a fairly recent version of OS X on your Powerbook, but I wouldn't call it worthwhile. You'll spend as much or more doing so as the machine is worth afterward.
Your machine is now over nine and a half years old (it was released in January 2001). It has a DVD-ROM drive, so it can't burn CDs or DVDs unless you replace that drive, and its non-upgradeable graphics processor is completely obsolete for any sort of multimedia or streaming video on today's websites, or for gaming. Its CPU, blazing fast for a notebook of its time, is ten to forty times slower than the ones in today's Macs.
The most recent OS X version you should consider is Tiger (10.4.x). To install it, you would have to replace your hard drive and you'd want to add RAM. A new 80GB or 120GB hard drive (you can't use one larger than 120GB in that machine without third-party commercial software and a lot of caveats) will cost $60-$75. 512MB of RAM would cost $35-50 and 1GB would cost $55-80. The kicker is that even a decent used copy of the retail Tiger installer DVD is likely to cost over $100. So at a minimum, you'd be putting $200 into a machine that right now isn't worth that much, and wouldn't be worth any more than that afterward. If you're OK with that, go ahead, but don't expect that the result is going to resemble the experience of getting a new Mac in 2010.
