Urgent issue: photo invalid format after conversion

Hi,
I have this urgent issue...I purchased and Ipod in USA and with camera connector I downloaded all the pictures taken (1700...). Came back to home, I connected the Ipod to my Ibook and I saw a message "optimizing ipod for mac" ... after this, only 67 photo are working. The other are all "invalid format" .... I also looked at the binaries of the image...it seems the ones invalid missed the jpeg header or information. Does anyone know what happens in this "optimization" and if there is something to come back? THank you so much!

Invalid Format after updating iOS

I just updated my ATV 2 to the latest version of iOS an now my Plasma says "invalid format" whenever i start the ATV 2. No video, no audio.
Unplugging didn't work exactly. I can see the apple symbol at start-up but then the "invalid format" sign from the TV shows again.
Can anybody help?

So you disconnected everything and resotred through iTunes? Hmm, I updated mine and it's working fine. Maybe it is the TV? Maybe try calling support or taking it in and have them check.

Some Photos are blank after conversion from Aperture

Library contains 45K photos .. migrated from Aperture. For some reason a large number of the photos have meta data but are blank. Where have they gone?

Partial CLUE ..
Two photos .. appear to be dupes .. but the case of the file NAME is different. The UPPERCASE JPG is blank .. the lowercase .jpg is not.

How to put check box in a table format at the out put ? Urgent issue...

I am working an assignment to assign multiple roles for multiplr user.
In selection screen we have to enter mutiple EMPNO from ..to
1) in second screen we will get the empno, First name, last name, Position,
    From date, To date, Sap user ID, Email id in the table formate with first
    column with Check box.
2) In second screen below the table I have to place the multiple roles just like in
   the step loop format and below this one Execute button should be there.
If we select the multiple employees or single employee and place the multiple roles or single roles and if I click the execute button then the multiple roles will be assigned to the multiple employees. The empno and roles will come from table and step loop to internal table and the same will pass to the BDC.
For this requirement I prepered recording for Transaction PFCG. But I can't understand how to design the second screen that table format and the step loop format. Can anybody give any idea or any coding to design the second screen.
and how to meet the requirement. This is urgent issue. Good SDN points will be reworded.

There are slight changes in the sivas code.Where is the data coming into the table.If its from a Model Node then iterate each element of the source node get that value compare and set the corresponding value in the element of the node binded to table.
Create a boolean attribute "select" in the table node and bind it to checked property of the check box.

Mail photo attachment changes format after being sent?

When I take a photo using the iPad camera and send it as an attachment in mail, how can I ensure the photo will maintain the same format after sending it, as it did when I took the photo? Recipients of my email with a portrait photo attachment, will receive the attachment in landscape format. This also happens to photos I've taken and saved previously in photos on my iPad2.
Does anyone know why this happens or how I can prevent it from happening?

I have seen this effect on photos received from an iPhone camera. I suggest you let Apple know so they can fix it in a future iOS update. Go to <iPad Feedback>.
When saved, the side-ways photos seem to end up right-side-up, if that is any consolation.

FCP Project Files are all "invalid format?"

I tried uploading many FCP Project Files with no success. All Project Files run fine in Final Cut Pro.
Once the upload process begins, the "Jobs in Progress" status spins for about a minute or so. At this point a red exclamation point appears, then a popup window that states:
"Unable to Analyze Project ... Invalid Format."
The project file makes it's way into FC Server as a listed asset, however when I choose to "get Info" and do a Search for the associated project files, nothing shows up. The manual mentions or recommends to use file extensions, and I have.
I read Final Cut Server is supposed to automatically recognize all FCP Project file's associated media. In fact they don't need to be packaged in a folder, etc.
Lastly I created a brand new FCP Project with a single video clip and a single audio clip after I installed the new ProApps Update. Still no luck.
Is anyone experiencing the same issue?

I experience the exact same issue, yesterday and thought that after Apple released the following update

that things may work, but they still dont.
My guess, is that there may be a version update to Final Cut 6.0.3 to maybe Final Cut 6.5 or something that will allow this direct integration with Final Cut Server. However, note, I was able to success import Final Cut Project exported as Final Cut XML files. I tried this because this was traditionally how it work when FCServer was the Artbox product. My guess is because the Final Cut Studio and Final Cut Server engineers in Apple really don't speak direct to each other, FCServer was realeased with this bug.

Invalid format error

What version of FCSVR are you on? 1.1.1? What version of FCP are you on?
This issue was discussed here on the forums before and the resolution for some was that the user was not logged into the server itself and uploaded the FCP project via another machine's client:
"The reason i found that was causing the problem was the server was not logged in.
After logging in on the server everything was fine"

The values that I see in message monitor are also those that comes to XSLT programs as input.
I investigated our problem a little further myself:
1) XI always converts messages into XML format - this everybody knows.
2) In XI documentation it is declared that XI uses ISO 8601 for DATE type formatting. That's why you see dates in format YYYY-MM-DD in XML data in message monitoring.
3) The appearance of those decimal values are not that obvious for me. If XI uses ABAP transformation for message content then applies the rules for converting ABAP data types into XML. For this there is a SAP document 'ABAP - XML mapping' from TechEd2004. This document seems to describe how ABAP data types are handled by XML transformation.
Anyway, we currently need to play with decimal values in XSLT mapping programs inside XI:
a) add leading 0 integer if source value < 1
RFC returns 0.123 -> XI converts to XML '.123' -> XSLT mapper should return '0.123' ->SOAP response returns '0.123'
b) add decimal point and trailing zeros
RFC returns 0.000 -> XI converts to XML '0' -> XSLT mapper should return '0.000' ->SOAP response return '0.000'
With dates, the problem is actually on documenting mapping rules when writing interface specifications. If you would write an EAI-solution-independent conversion rule (RFC/date->SOAP/char) for date field it could sound like: YYYYMMDD -> dd.mm.yyyy. This works semantically between these systems but would not work for XI-developer, because he get YYYY-MM-DD from the RFC.
Additionally the decimal type conversion requirements in XSLT mapping programs probably only applies XI and are therefore not reusable in other EAI environments.
I would be glad if somebody would still have further comments for this data type conversion issue.

Aperture 2 and Unsupported Format After Image Adjustments

I was making tonal adjustments to a Nikon D3 RAW photo in "Browser Only" view mode. When I closed the adjustments HUD, the image was replaced with the red "Unsupported Format" window. I had to restart Aperture to get back to the photo. Sounds like an interesting bug.
Anyone else seen this?

Same issues here: Canon D5, after some editing I was getting the red block; and a restart of Aperture cured it (for now)
As mentioned in the other thread: maybe it has to do with setting the camera to store both the RAW and a (small) .jpeg? I haven't seen it appear in another series imported just before - and edited just before in Aperture - where the camera only stored the RAW on the card...
Any more experiences?

Unable to analyze project - invalid format

I currently have Final Cut Server 1.5.2 installed on a Macbook pro running 10.6 as a test bed while the eventual xServe is being installed and to go through the training book. I'm stumbling into a weird issue in that I can't seem to upload Final Cut project files into the server. Whenever I attempt it, the upload job fails after 10 minutes odd with the error 'Unable to analyze project - invalid format'.
Is this a known bug or is there something weird in my config? I've tried reinstalling FCSvr several times, but end up with the same problem.

I'm using FCSvr 1.1.1 & Quicktime 7.5.5. I can encode the failed clips with Compressor on it's own.
I talked to a tech rep at Apple and he found a partial solution. You have to erase and re-create your network in a very specific manner. With this solution everything works perfectly… except for element clip proxies, which periodically FAIL during transcoding.
The fix is to “search all jobs” with the status FAIL and then, within FCSvr, re-analyze the element clip proxies that failed.
These are the steps:
1. Access Apple Qmaster via System Preferences on each computer. Click the 'Stop Sharing' button. Hold down the Option key until the 'Start Sharing' button says 'Reset'. Click the reset button. Shut down the computer.
2. Turn on the computer you want to be the Cluster Controller. Access Apple Qmaster via System Preferences. Select "Services and cluster controller". Under 'Services' check 'Share' and 'Managed' for Compressor. For 'Selected Service On' make sure you do not add more than half of your processors (instances). Then click on the 'Start Sharing' button.
4. Turn on your FCSer client computers. Access Apple Qmaster via System Preferences. Select "Services only". Under 'Services' check 'Share' and 'Managed' for Compressor. For 'Selected Service On' make sure you do not add more than half of your processors (instances). Then click on the 'Start Sharing' button.
5. Go back to your Cluster Controller computer and open Qadministrator. Create a Cluster. Drag and drop the client computers you’re sharing with into your new cluster.
6. Sign in as admin for FCSer. Select the ‘Server’ button in the upper left of the main FCSer window. Select the ‘Administration…’ from the Server drop down menu. Select ‘Preferences’ from the window that opens. Select the ‘Compressor’ tab. Click on the ‘Compressor Cluster Name’ pop up menu and select your newly created cluster.
7. Test out the cluster by uploading media files.

[SOLVED] openssh 6.7p1 warning "key_load_public: invalid format"

I would like to share solution for a problem with openssh in [testing].
After updating openssh to 6.7p1 I've got a scary warning "key_load_public: invalid format" for my ECDSA plublic key when try to connect to a server. I looked at openssh code and found that it does not like "-----BEGIN" string in the public key (see function sshkey_try_load_public). And it what I had in my public key file - I think previous version of openssh generated it.
I removed "-----BEGIN/END EC PUBLIC KEY-----" lines and now openssh seems happy.

I still have this issue in Acrobat XI and MS Office Professional Plus 2010. I keep upgrading to no avail. This regression has resulted in a huge time drain for me. If you fixed it, please explain how I can get my hands on the resolution.
Previous versions of Excel and Adobe Acrobat enabled flexibility around the "Page #" of "Number of Pages" (Page &[Page] of &[Pages]) token, depending on context and usage. The "# of pages" token could represent EITHER the number of pages in the workbook OR the number of pages in the tab/sheet, depending on how you generated the PDF:
You could select "Selected Sheets" and then select all or some of the individual sheets in the workbook, and the PDF would honor the discrete numbering of each of the sheets, so the first page of each sheet was p1 and the "# of pages" was the number of pages in the sheet; not the number of pages in the workbook; or
You could select "Entire Workbook" and the PDF would honor continuous page numbers across all sheets, as a single document.
Now, it only honors the total number of pages in the workbook, regardless of the method you use to publish to PDF: saving as PDF, printing to PDF, using "createPDF" from Acrobat plugin to Excel's menu ribbon; selecting all sheets, some sheets, or Entire Workbook; automatic First page number or "1" under Page Setup > Page> First page number. (This last option, btw, does restart every sheet at p1, but it hardly makes sense if the total number of pages is still the total number in the workbook instead of the number in the sheet.)
I spent a lot of time trying each which way that the blog posts recommended and have tried this on multiple versions of Excel and Acrobat now.
NONE of these time-consuming experiments gave me what I wanted.They all insist that "Page #" of "Number of Pages" (Page &[Page] of &[Pages]) is the total number of pages in the workbook or the total number of pages in the selected sheets combined.
The numbering are correct in Excel Page Layout.
The same issue happens when using LibreOffice calc. (Although, I never tested with Libre Office before, so I don't know that it ever worked).
The workaround now is to create PDF for each spreadsheet one at a time, and then compile them using the Acrobat combine/binder feature. All alternatives are extremely time consuming and tedious. It used to be automatic. This is a major regression that has gone untreated for over a year now, maybe two years.
My task takes infinitely more time to complete than it did with previous versions of Acrobat. That means that days are added to my project, when the functionality used to enable a quick pdf generation that was ready for review, now I have to do this very manual time-consuming set of steps to generate a draft. As the project has grown and more tabs are added, my pdf-generation task takes that much longer. We require lots of drafts. It used to be easy and fast. Now it is hard and time-consuming.
In my opinion, the problem is not Excel; it is Acrobat because it was introduced with an upgrade in Acrobat, not an upgrade in Excel. The problem was introduced in Acrobat 9 or 10. Please provide a patch or add-on or something.

If you are setting up the page numbers in Excel, the resulting PDF would display the the page numbers created in Excel. On Excel 2010 support page, (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/insert-and-remove-page-numbers-on-worksheets- HA010342619.aspx#BM2) is stated the following "tip" which indicates by default Excel 2010 starts numbering each tab with 1. Exel's workaround tip is below -
Set a different number for the starting page
Tip To number all of the worksheet pages in a workbook sequentially, first add page numbers to all worksheets in a workbook, and then use the following procedure to begin the page number for each worksheet with the appropriate number. For example, if your workbook contains two worksheets that with both be printed as two pages, you would use this procedure to begin the page numbering for the second worksheet with the number 3.
On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click the Dialog Box Launcher next to Page Setup.
On the Page tab, in the First page number box, type the number that you want to use for the first page.
Tip To use the default numbering system, type Auto in the First page number box.
Also helpful in the same section is the note on viewing page numbers. To see if the page numbering dilemma originates in Excel make sure you are using the Page Layout View see below:

If you want numbers shown on pages when you print a worksheet you can insert page numbers in the headers or footers of the worksheet pages. Page numbers that you insert are not displayed on the worksheet in Normal view — they are shown only in Page Layout view and on the printed pages.
Overall it may be easier not to create the page numbers in Excel but instead create then in Acrobat using the Headers and Footers option in Acrobat. I hope this helps - it sounds like a frustrating issue you are experiencing.

INVALID FORMAT ON EXTERNAL MONITOR

I have an LG LCD TV and a mini-Display>DVI>HDMI cable connecting it to my MacBook Pro and with a misclick (apparently chose the wrong resolution but have since selected several and NO resolution change appears to work) on the display options, after a year or more of fine connection, I get INVALID FORMAT on the TV. I can reboot, reset the display and when I close the laptop > INVALID FORMAT on TV....any ideas?

So if I understand correctly, with the lid up you can get an image on the LG but with the lid closed you cannot? Is that correct? Yes, OS X is so clever that it stores two different user preferences for resolution under those conditions, e.g. lid up or lid down. But that means you can't change the lid up preference setting from the lid down state, or vice-versa. Sometimes OS X is too smart for its own good.
One way to fix that is to use screen sharing between two Macs, assuming you have a second Mac at your disposal. From the second Mac, you can control the problem Mac, and change the resolution setting to one that works again with the LG while the MBP's lid is down.
Another solution is to start in Safe mode (hold down the Shift key through a restart) but there is a catch with this solution because the screen needs to be down. But there is no way to hold the Shift key down with the screen down. Hmm. One clever person on these forums folded up a piece of matchbook cover and placed it on the Shift key, hit the power button to start the MBP and then immediately closed the lid. That did the trick. The matchbook cover held the Shift key down. You can lift the lid once OS X finishes booting. You should be able to tell because the LG screen should be working under conditions of a Safe start.
Once the MBP is fully booted, with only the external screen active and the lid now lifted, go into Displays preferences and set the resolution to the one you have happily used for a year. Now you should be able to use the LG again with the lid down and not get that "Invalid Format" message.
A third solution would be to trash the preferences file com.apple.windowserver.plist and that should give a fresh start with the external display. Good luck whichever way you choose.

Hdmi invalid format

yesterday for the 1st time I tried to connect my MBP 15" Retina Display to a Sony TV Bravia KDL-26M 4000 through HDMI but it didn't work. I got a 1st messages "Invalid Format" and after NO signal on TV and the computer monitor became black.
Today I went to visit a Genius at the Apple Store and as soon as he connected the computer to a TV, with the same cable, it worked... Just plug'n'play.
I came home I tried again:
1.- I connected the HDMI cable with TV Off
2.- I connected the HDMI cable with TV On
3.- I disconnected the power cable of the TV and I waited 30"/45" and reconnected
4.- I turned Off and On the computer
5.- I plugged In and Out severals time the HDMI cable, and I tried the 2 different ports
6.- I even tried to change the resolution on the computer but on the MBP Retina Display you can't do to much
7.- an many more
but NO success, still got the messages "Invalid Format"...
I'd like to add that the other devices connected to the same HDMI ports on that TV are working, means the TV is working
some help will be appreciate

theres no reason why it should not work, plug in the HDMI cable, select the Source input on LCD(HDMI 1/2), if still no picture on the Mini open System Pref>Display : Resolution> it should show 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p and other lower resolutions, just select 1080p and to your right select 60hz. Hope this helps.
