URGENT: JasperReport

Hi,
I have a report on Ireport.
I'm trying to compile, fill and run my report while my application is running but I get some errors.
This is my code:
//code
JasperDesign jDesign = JasperManager.loadXmlDesign(fileName);
JasperReport jReport = JasperManager.compileReport(jDesign);
Map parameters = new HashMap();
String cotiza = new String ("87872");
parameters.put("NumCotizaP",cotiza);
JasperPrint jPrint = JasperManager.fillReport(jReport, parameters, getConnection());
JasperManager.printReportToPdf(jPrint);
if (jPrint != null) {
JasperViewer.viewReport(jPrint, false);
//code
My error is this:
Error -> java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission /home2/websis/Creator/SunAppServer8/domains/creator/config/CTZ_COTIZA.java delete)
where CTZ_COTIZA is the name of the report.
What can I do? IT'S REALLY URGENT!!!
I really need to compile, fill and open my report. Actually I already can open the report with the JasperViewer.
Thanks in advance.

wendy_a,
Insert this class in your project:
public class Resources {
     private static ClassLoader loader = Resources.class.getClassLoader();
     public static DataInputStream getResource(String fileName) {
          DataInputStream dis = new DataInputStream(loader.getResourceAsStream(fileName));
          return dis;
}And load the jrxml with:
JasperDesign jDesign = JasperManager.loadXmlDesign(Resources.getResource("fileName.jrxml"));

    the following is the java code:
    Map params = new HashMap();
    params.put("order_type", "This is Test Print");

    InputStream is =Class.forName(                    "com.w3c.dom.Document").getResourceAsStream

    JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdf(jp);
    i reckon iam getting this error in the above highlighted code...
    i have all the necessary jars in weblogic's classpath!!
    just a thought...is this because of any mismatch in the jar version?
    on refreshing the page the cause becomes java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
    ANY POINTERS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING???

    Patrick-
    My best guess is that you did not include some required library in the
    runtime "required libraries" for your project. My first guess is that
    you missed the JDO library jar, since missing that would certainly
    result in an ExceptionInInitializerError when loading your persistent
    classes.
    You might also run the program in the debugger and see if you get a more
    telling stack trace.
    In article <bkuuef$9di$[email protected]>, Patrick Pracht wrote:
    Hello all,
    I am currently developing a webapp using Kodo-2.5.3, MySQL-DB, JBuilder9,
    Tomcat4.1.
    Everything worked as expected until I have been running the Metadata tool
    and Schematool from within JBuilder for a new class.
    After doing this , when I attempt to run the webapp from within JBuilder,
    the build process stops with the following message displayed in the
    build-panel of JBuilder: java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
    Since I have no further indication of what causes the problem (Filename,
    location, Stacktrace, etc.) I really don't know how to proceed. The only
    thing that I can see by looking at the kodo msg panel is, that Kodo did not
    parse all the persistent classes.
    Can anybody tell me how this problem could be tracked down?
    Is there any log-file I could have a look at?
    Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException: Error loading object from file : C

    I started using JasperReports for my web application report generation. I'm using JSPs for web development.
    I created a .jrxml file using iReport and used the following code to generate the report.
    try {
              JasperDesign jasperDesign = JRXmlLoader.load("C:\\tomcat\\webapps\\web\\JSP\\reports\\samples\\pmm-final.jrxml");
              JasperReport jasperReport = JasperCompileManager.compileReport(jasperDesign);
    // Second, create a map of parameters to pass to the report.
              Map parameters = new HashMap();
              parameters.put("Title", "JasperReport");
    // Third, get a database connection
              Connection conn = null;
              Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
              conn=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=C:/tomcat/webapps/db1/db1.mdb");
    // Fourth, create JasperPrint using fillReport() method
              JasperPrint jasperPrint = JasperFillManager.fillReport(jasperReport,
                                  parameters, conn);
    // You can use JasperPrint to create PDF
              //JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdfFile(jasperPrint, "C:\\tomcat\\webapps\\web\\JSP\\reports\\TestReport.pdf");
              JasperExportManager.exportReportToHtmlFile(jasperPrint, "C:\\tomcat\\webapps\\web\\JSP\\reports\\TestPMM.html");
              JRXlsExporter exporter = new JRXlsExporter();
              exporter.setParameter(JRExporterParameter.JASPER_PRINT, jasperPrint);
              exporter.setParameter(JRExporterParameter.OUTPUT_FILE_NAME, "C:\\tomcat\\webapps\\web\\JSP\\reports\\TestPMM.xls");
              exporter.exportReport();
    // Or to view report in the JasperViewer
              //JasperViewer.viewReport(jasperPrint);
    } catch (JRException e) {

    Anyone pls help. It's bit urgent. Thanks.

    I was using iReport v0.5.0 and it uses jasperreports-0.6.7.jar (v0.6.7) of
    JasperReports. I compiled and i deployed my application in BEA weblogic server. I got the error listed below. Only after i saw your
    response explaining that iReport was the issue, i checked the iReport lib directory and found this version of jasperreport jar.
    iReport creates a java source file which is used to a jasper file.
    iReport will link in the v0.6.7 version of jasperReports. When you
    deploy your web application it will recognize this version through the compiled jasper file and give you the InvalidClassException, even
    though you only have one jasperReport jar deployed with your war file.
    The way i fixed this problem was to create my web application with the
    jasperreport jar comes with iReport.
    Thanks for mentioning iReport.

  • Problem with client side printing, please help its urgent

    hi ,
    am using struts and jasper reports on my project, now i was having problem that whenever i try to print the report , the printer dialogue box was appearing on server machine, i want it on client end, how to solve this problem, please any one know help me, it was urgent,
    my code was like this

    JasperPrint jasperPrint = JasperFillManager.fillReport("c:/report/test.jasper"),parameters,con);
    List l=jasperPrint.getPages();
    if(l.size() != 0){
      jasperPrint.setOrientation(JasperReport.ORIENTATION_PORTRAIT);

  • Create report using JasperReport

    I use JasperReport to create report. The jrxml file is created by using iReport. But when I run the program, it shows error:
    net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException: Error loading expression class
    Is there any can help me?
    Please help me, I need to do it in urgent.
    Can you suggest me other tools that I can use to create report in JSF portlet? Because I try many way with JasperReport but no success.
    Thank you very much.

    After going through sevaral forums looking for a solution to this problem here is what I figured
    - This problems is there for some time now.
    - No one seems to have identified the root cause for it or fail-safe solution
    - For some it went away by changing JVM for others it disappeared by changing JasperReports version
    For me, here is what I noticed. I compile the reports in each environment for same Java and JasperReports version
    - It appeared only on UNIX environment.
    - It is intermittent. out of 12 reports I have, one or the other fail in different environments (all on UNIX). There is no consistency and its not repeatable
    - For a moment, I thought the problem is resolved after I migrated JasperReports from 1.2.2 to 1.2.5. I wasn't so fortunate. There is still one report which fails to load.
    I know this information is not very useful, but I just wanted to share my frustration. I also wonder why this problem has not been addressed so far.

  • Compile a JasperReport

    Hi,
    I have a report on Ireport.
    I'm trying to compile, fill and run my report while my application is running but I get some errors.
    This is my code:
    //code
    JasperDesign jDesign = JasperManager.loadXmlDesign(fileName);
    JasperReport jReport = JasperManager.compileReport(jDesign);
    Map parameters = new HashMap();
    String cotiza = new String ("87872");
    parameters.put("NumCotizaP",cotiza);
    JasperPrint jPrint = JasperManager.fillReport(jReport, parameters, getConnection());
    JasperManager.printReportToPdf(jPrint);
    if (jPrint != null) {
    JasperViewer.viewReport(jPrint, false);
    //code
    My error is this:
    Error -> net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JRException: Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.
    What can I do? IT'S REALLY URGENT!!!
    I really need to compile and fill my report. Actually I already can open the report with the JasperViewer.
    Thanks in advance.

    I guess this is what I was trying to explain before. You cannot use JasperViewer in the normal JSC/JSF senario.
    JasperViewer runs on a java runtime, when using JSC/JSF you are only sending web pages to the client. In the normal JSC/JSF senario you are only using the Runtime on the server (hence your experience). That said there are ways to make the report viewable in JasperViewer on the client, but its much harder. We have done this using an java applet.
    You have 2 options:
    1. Send the report to the user in PDF form (or Excel or text or html, or whatever jasperReports provides). See my example http://swforum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?forumID=123&threadID=50166
    2. Use an applet to bring up the JasperViewer, This will take you a long time to develop.

    Jonathan

  • JasperReports: pagefooter and LANDSCAPE mode

    I am using JasperReports to generate an excel file. Inside my main report, I have 2 subreports, one pagefooter, and one summary page.
    I have 3 problems:
    1) I need the summary page to appear on a new page. Right now, all the sections are printed one after the other.
    2) Though I have set the orientation to landscape in the JAVA code (and teh content is corerctly printed in the same mode)), I also need to set the Print Page set up to "landscape' instead or portrait.
    3) The most important: I have a static text as the footer, and I haev placed it in pagefooter. However, the text is not printed at the bottom of each page, but somewhere inbetween. I have tried all options that IReport had to offer, but have made no headway.
    Please help. It is very urgent.

  • Logical command in ABAP.....Urgent

    Hi,
      i am pretty new using ABAP program so i neeed help urgently. i am trying to move a file on the application server from one directory to the other and i was using the open dataset function to do that. but the file i am trying to move is pretty big and because i am using internal table to store, it is causing problems with the space.
      i have consulted the basis guys and they have managed to create a logical file for copying from one directory to the other on the application server. to help you furthter. i am enclosing the mail sent to me.
    I have created a logical command which should copy the file from one location to the other but you need to pass it the source dir and file name and the destination dir and file name.
    The logical command is ZCOPY and uses cmd /c copy
    Copies one or more files to another location.
    COPY [/V] [/N] [/Y | /-Y] [/Z] [/A | /B ] source [/A | /B]
         [+ source [/A | /B] [+ ...]] [destination [/A | /B]]
      source       Specifies the file or files to be copied.
      /A           Indicates an ASCII text file.
      /B           Indicates a binary file.
      destination  Specifies the directory and/or filename for the new file(s).
      /V           Verifies that new files are written correctly.
      /N           Uses short filename, if available, when copying a file with a
                   non-8dot3 name.
      /Y           Suppresses prompting to confirm you want to overwrite an
                   existing destination file.
      /-Y          Causes prompting to confirm you want to overwrite an
                   existing destination file.
      /Z           Copies networked files in restartable mode.
    The switch /Y may be preset in the COPYCMD environment variable.
    This may be overridden with /-Y on the command line.  Default is
    to prompt on overwrites unless COPY command is being executed from
    within a batch script.
    the problem now is i have no idea about how to use the logical command. can any one help me.
    Thank you,
    Ravi.

    If memory is not an issue, then there should be no reason why this should not work.

  • FUNCTION IS NOT WORKING WHEN RUN IN SRW.RUN_REPORT, URGENT

    Hi,
    I have a report. it has got 1 Query and 2 groups.
    Q1
    |
    |
    __G1__
    |F1 |
    |F2 |
    |F3 |
    |
    |
    |
    __G2__
    |Items|
    |Sales|
    | Qty|
    |Store|
    |Func4|
    |Func5|
    |Func6|
    The Query looks like above. Now In the report I have a 3 User parameters . For Each record in G2 the functions Func4,Func5 and Func6 adds the value to the user parameters at the report level.
    Now the Func1,Func2,Func3 takes the value of last 4 record for each item at each G1 Level and devides it by 4 and prints . As an example given below
    ITEMS-----SALES-------QTY-----------STORE
    10001-----10000-------200-------------100
    10001-----20000-------500-------------200
    10001-----15000-------350-------------175
    10001-----45000-------650-------------225
    10001-----50000-------700-------------300
    AVERAGE==>32500-------550-------------225 ==> Calculated by F1,F2,F3
    20001-----70000-------900-------------400
    20001-----30000-------600-------------350
    20001-----20000-------500-------------300
    20001-----25000-------450-------------275
    20001-----35000-------550-------------225
    20001-----65000-------800-------------400
    AVERAGE==>36250-------650-------------300 ==> Avg of last 4 records
    This report takes an parameter which is part of the Where condition of the Query Q1. If I run this report from the report builder and provide the value for the parameter then the report runs fine printing the exact values. If I run the report from another report(which I have to do, due to circumstances) using SRW.Run_Report and pass the parameter in the same command. The the function FUNC4, FUNC5, FUNC6 does not do the addition, as a result the Func1,Func2,Func3 returns 0. I dont know why this is happenning .
    This is very very URGENT, My project manager is on my head to finish it ASAP. Please help.
    Thanks
    Feroz

    Hi Toby and Danny,
    Thanks for the quick reply. I dont think I am having an interdependancy of the functions. Here is an sample what two functions do at each level
    Func6 =========> This function at group level G2
    begin
    -- To initialize the user parameter for each new item.
         If :CNT = 1 Then
              :Wk4_Pos_Qty := 0;
         End If;
    -- to add the qty value to the user parameter for last 4 records. Uchange is the no of records for each item
    If :CNT >= :UCHANGE - 3 Then
         :Wk4_Pos_Qty := :Wk4_Pos_Qty + :Qty;
    End If;
    return 0;
    end;
    Func3 ======> this function at group level G1
    Begin
    -- if no of records are less than 4 then devide by the no of records or devide by 4.
         If :UChange < 4 Then
                   return((:Wk4_Pos_Qty + :Qty) / :UChange);
         Else
                   return((:Wk4_Pos_Qty + :Qty)/ 4);
         End If;
    end;
    Here Wk4_Pos_Qty is the User parameter created to hold the calue for the Um of last 4 records Qty.
    I tried to modify the Func3 so that it looks like this
    Func3
    begin
    srw.reference(:Wk4_Pos_Qty);
         If :UChange < 4 Then
                   return((:Wk4_Pos_Qty + :Qty) / :UChange);
         Else
                   return((:Wk4_Pos_Qty + :Qty)/ 4);
         End If;
    end;
    But it does not effect anything. I mean its the same. The Wk4_Pos_Qty returns 0 and Func3 returns 0.
    Any Suggestions .
    Thanks
    Feroz

    One reason that I sometimes get 'NoSuchMethodError' is when I make a change to a
    java class that is imported into another java class. When I go to run the
    importing class, it will throw a 'NoSuchMethodError' on any methods that I've
    changed in the imported class. The solution is to recompile the importing class
    with the changed classes in the classpath.
