Urgent - KM Folders Backup

Hi,
We are having important folders , which has around 5000 subfolders and around 15000 files.
How to take  backup for those files.
We are having Portal on Sun Solaris system.
Thanks and Regards,
Srini

Hi Srini,
Check the Repository Manager documentation, to know how different types of Repositories need to be backed up.
Check this for more:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/62/468698a8e611d5993600508b6b8b11/frameset.htm
So if your repository is CM Repository, then:
Persistence Mode - DB : Database needs to be backed up, as all properties and contents of files are stored in DB.
Persistence Mode - DBFS : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/44/fa8a46127e0484e10000000a155369/frameset.htm
Persistence Mode - FSDB :
For a scenario with write accesses, this mode cannot ensure consistent data backup and restore. This is because changes to the folder structure in the file system could be made in the time between the two actions. This would lead to inconsistent data following the restore process. Consistent data backup and restore can therefore be ensured only if read accesses alone are taking place.

    i want user-manage backup commands
    help me urgent
    senthil

    Hi
I don't know if your database is really 24/7. If so I suggest you to execute a TSPITR (Tablespace Point In Time Recovery). To do that you must restore the those datafiles and archivelogs (from a backup before the corruption) that you need on a separate (new) database, recreate the controlfile, execute a rollforward (RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUO CONTROLFILE UNTIL TIME '2006-02-27:19:30:58'). Of course you must replate the UNTIL TIME timestamp with a date before you deleted the rows.

  • Is there a note app that features encryption, folders, backup, and import/export?

    Hi friends,
I have been searching for a month for a Notetaking app for the iphone which has these attributes:
able to import/export notes from some form of text file suchas csv. I need to bring over a large number of notes from my android phone. I can perl-script and should be able to massage my data into any format requiredby any text-based importer. I would expect this feature to be based either on itunes or a proprietary sync program on a Mac.
encryption (not just a password), preferably AES-256 bit orhigher
features categories, tags, or folders (any one of these isfine)
able to backup and restore notes in encrypted form, in caseof loss of device
You would think this is a very basic set of features, but I have notbeen able to find anything on the App store that includes all of thesefeatures. If you know of any such app, please let me know.
    Thanks a lot!

There should be some utilities that might do that on macupdate.com if you search around in there. It could be done as a macro action in Photoshop, but that's an expensive solution for this. VueScan could also potentially do it, but is also not cheap.
Also, some of the utilities that come bundled with scanners may be able to do this, but only when running the scanner they came with.
Definitely the features exist on the Mac like auto-recognition of multiple images on a page, auto-rotation, auto-levels, PDF export etc. You just need to find them in the right combination in the right app.

  • [Urgent] N97 sms backup

    Hi,
I'm thinking of sending my N97 for repair. I've backup my stuffs using the ovi suite and did a hard reset on my phone. Text messages saved on my E: Mass memory can still be found after doing a hard reset.
Can i delete all the messages there before sending it to repair and retrieve the messages when i load my backup file and sync to ovi when it's back from repair? Will the messages on E: Mass memory be retrieved successfully?
    Thanks!

well i have the latest version of OVI suite and when i click on messaging, folders and messages i cannot copy them to pc. the only option is FORWARD, REPLY, DELETE...
My old nokia 6300 did allow copying smses directly to pc using drag and drop using the old nokia pc suite, but with nokia ovi suite and newer high model nokias its all Fed up and no longer user friendly...
Nokia has stuffed up badly with the N97...
I do not like getting backup of all data into a specific nokia image file...i like backing up my SMS messages only just like the old nokias, directly to pc by dragging & drop...
I guess its time to leave nokia forever and move into another brand phone...
I used nokia for 14 years and the more i see their newer phones the more disgusted i get with their feature, qualiity and performance...
My N97 has been replaced by warranty quiet a few times and still stuffed up, hanging and freezing...even with latest firmware its even worse...latest firmware is supposed to improve not get worse...what nokia programmers are doing and their engineers i dont really know...they going down and down and down...

  • Reports, Universe, User folders backups

    hi All,
We have a scenario here, could you please give some lights on this.
We used BO 3.1 for our client reporting and our one of the important task was to back up all components in the repository
We used to take weekly backup of all reports, universe and user folders as biar files and keep them in safe location, so that we can retrieve as and when required. It was very useful couple of times when users lost their reports by mistakes.
We have moved to BO 4.1 now.
Same procedure followed using promotion management and we took biar files and kept those in safe location . But when we tried to retrieve one of the report the promotion management window, it didn't showed any option to select any component to be promoted else all components where default selected and i can prompt the whole bunch together.
Could you please suggest a proper solution to resolve this backup issue, also let me know if we have other options for the same

    Hi Manesh,
Try to copy the folder where you save the backups in the BO server, in order to acces from the CMC to the folder structure and you would be able to copy and paste the files or open it in Rich Client and check it.

  • Help needed urgently with Superduper backup of Macbook and external HHD

My Macbook is doing strange things (not sleeping and turning itself on and off, fans going mad etc) so I want to do a cloned back up before taking it to my Apple Service store. I have downloaded Superduper ready to do this but am not sure how I use this as I have an external firewire drive as well as the Macbooks internal drive. Ideally I want to clone everything in order to make sure I have it all covered. Can I make one cloned backup that will include the external drive and the Macbooks drive onto one hard drive that I will use just for this purpose? Or do I have to use Superduper to clone the macbook and then do a separate backup of the files on my external drive? All my important files are on the external drive (photos, iMovie, documents) and I do have a backup of this on another portable drive but this is now too small to fit any more on and is therefore not up to date so I now need to buy a bigger drive and do a full back up ASAP.
By the way, I am still using Tiger so do not have Time Machine.
Also, how do i prepare the new drive? Do I need to partition it to a GUID system for my Intel Macbook first before doing the clone?

I am not clear on how many drives you have, of what type, and how much data is on them and which are empty. Perhaps you could provide a list. You say you have an internal, and an external, both with data. If you want to back up both of these you will need another drive that is at least the size of the current space occupied by the files on your internal and important data external. I am less familiar with SuperDuper than I am with CarbonCopyCloner but for both programs there exists a complete bootable backup clone option which puts everything on a drive (including invisible files from your operating system which are essential for your computer to boot) onto the backup. This will also erase the target drive so you need to have an empty drive (or one where you don't care about the content) for a target. You would back up your internal drive in this manner. Your external drive (unless it has a different boot system on it) you can just copy files over since it is just data. It would be handy at this stage if we knew more about the drives so we can make specific recommendations as to what to copy where, and how.
Kappy posted a detailed description of drive preparation in [this thread|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7009683#7009683].

  • Urgent need to backup my iTunes including tv shows etc

    Hi,
I have a hard disk that is failing, and needs to be quickly replaced.
I have been able to copy my music and my playlist data, but what do I do about the podcasts and most importantly all the TV shows I have purchased.
How do I backup these. I have paid for heaps of TV shows, but not yet watched them and don't want to loose them

What are you copying them to, an external hard drive?
Just use the consolidate library command and everything (TV shows included) should get copied over the the hard drive. Directions here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1364
Make sure you backup your database ITL file, too:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1660
And deauthroize your PC before you change out the hard drive.

  • URGENT! Encrypted backup password recovery on a Mac?

I just upgraded to 5.0 on my iPod 3rd Gen and lost everything except music! I lost all my notes, photos (!!), contacts, apps and everything. I'm literally on the verge of tears here because I had 3 years worth of data in there. I thought I could restore it using backup data BUT I lost the password (i set it up 2+ years ago on a whim, totally my mistake and should have remembered it...) and now whenever it prompts me to enter, I can never get it. I have tried everything but I just cant seem to get it.
I tried using some software like Elcomsoft but it is only avilable for Windows and I have a Macbook Pro. Is there any way around this? Any way I could retreive my backups or crack that password? I have tried everything. Please help!

  • Lightroom backups folder.  Huge size.

In "My Pictures" is a folder called Lightroom, where all the catalogues and backups are stored.  A while ago, I had a major crash on the computer and lost everything on my hard disc.  I was able to restore most from my external hard drive.
Now, in the Lightroom folder I have the following folders:
Backups - this is 11.7 gb and contains multiple back ups.  Can I safely delete some of the older ones?
Lightroom 2 catalogue - size greater than 97 gb.  This has masses of backups inside it going back to 2008.  Also inside this folder is a Lightroom previews lrdata file of 7.7gb and a  Lightroom 2 catalogue of 1.44 gb
Lightroom 2 catalogue previews.lrdata with a number of folders 0-9 and A-F in it.  8.7 gb
Lightroom 3 catalogue previews. lrdata. Same as above but for LR3.  513 mb
Lightroom catalogue previews.lrdata This probably relates to LR1 and appears to be empty.
Lightroom previews.lrdata  Again seems to relate to LR1 and is empty.
    Lightroom settings   That's OK
Lightroom 3 backups  That's OK too.
All the above are shown as folders.  the next lot show as single sheets of paper, if that makes sense to you.
    Lightroom 2 catalogue 1.49 gb
    Lightroom 3 catalogue 41mb
    Lightroom 3 catalogue 2  261mb
    Lightroom 3 catalogue 2.lrcat-journal
When using LR3, I have not integrated the LR2 catalogue.   LR3 has only a small number of photos in it. This was advised somewhere.  I read a post in this forum a few days ago suggesting that the LR files should not be so large as these are.  I have a total of about 12,500 photos in the catalogue.
Which files can I delete?  All the LR1 files?  Old backups, keeping just the latest of each LR2 and LR3?
Why do I seem to be getting multiple backups in different folders?
I am not a computer wizard.  My understanding is limited and I don't want to delete data that should not be deleted but this does seem to be using a huge amount of disc space.
    JW

Many thanks.  I back up weekly or more often to an external drive, including all the LR files so I feel reasonably happy about them being on the same disc.  I can get rid of masses of old backups, then.  That should release some disc space.

  • Azure backup services for Object Storage

I'm investigating using your Object Storage services for our on-premise application. I see there are replication options for this service but I assume all the replicas are near real-time. I want to be protected from something horrible like an application
defect corrupting or deleting our BLOBs.    The Azure backup service seems to be for backing up on-premise data to the cloud. The Object Storage BLOBs I want to back up will already be in the cloud. Even if I can use Azure
Backup for this, I'd like not to manage it myself. Is there a backup service I can use with the Object Storage service that allows me to have backups but not have to deal with managing/monitoring them?   If so, where can I get pricing information?

Azure backup supports files and folders backup to Azure. if there are Windows VMs or machines using Object Storage services, then install Azure backup agent in the Windows machines to backup the relevant files and folders.

  • Personal Folder Backup add-in does not work

When I installed Office 2010, it migrated my Outlook 2003 setup successfully and the Backup add-in appears on the Add-Ins tab.  It is also shows up as being active in the Manage Add-Ins page.  The add-in is set up to run every day, but when I close Outlook 2010, it does not run.  If I trigger the add-in from within Outlook, the normal dialogue box comes up, and lets me select "Save Backup".  But it still does not run.
I have tried disabling the add-in, removing it, and then re-installing it.  But it makes no difference.  Does it depend on any other add-in?  Has anyone else managed to get it to work?

If you want to correct the issues you are having go to the following link and you will fix all you issues and be happy.  What you will want is at the bottom of this page that I write. It will do it all for you and you will see the fimialure backup once
    you do.
    http://www.msoutlook.info/question/421
Due to changes in the graphical design of Outlook 2010 and technical changes in its shutdown behavior, the Personal Folders Backup Add-in works a bit different than expected when compared to previous versions of Outlook.
    Backup command
    The options menu for the Personal Folder Backup Add-in is now shown on the Add-in tabs in the Ribbon;
The Backup Add-in “hides” itself on the Add-Ins tab in Outlook 2010.
    Shutdown changes
Due to shutdown changes in Outlook 2010, the add-in will indeed no longer prompt you to backup when closing Outlook.
    You can either
backup the pst-files manually, wait until an updated version will be released or apply the registry fix mentioned below.
When adding the following key to your
Registry, you’ll change the shutdown behavior of Outlook 2010 back to the shutdown behavior of Outlook 2007 SP2.
    Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Microsoft.OutlookBackup.1
    Value name: RequireShutdownNotification
    Value type: REG_DWORD
    Value: 1
Note: If you do not want to edit your registry manually, you can also apply the reg-file in this
    zip-download.

I am trying to backup my data using the Blackberry desktop manager, but it keeps trying to connecting with the phone with no vail (Although it is connected with the blackberry device manager and I can get some media files as a usb. I urgently need to backup my contacts and calendar, in order to update them on my new bold 9780.

It sounds like more might be damaged than just the display. It is odd, though, that the media card shows but not the device databases. Hardware failures have been known to corrupt software, though.

  • Time Machine backup folder trashed

I've screwed up. I sent my Time Machine Backups.backupdb folder to the trash.
Fortunately, I caught the error and didn't empty the Trash and dump the folder. But then instead of using "Put Back"  I copied it out of Trash to the HDD and now have two folders:  Backups. and RETRIEVED… but the Backups folder is empty and the RETRIEVED folder has an odd string of folders:   HDD> iMac > 2011-08-08-000744 and 2011-08-09-124425 both of which have >HD > System >Library > Core Services> boot.efi
If I open Time Machine I see a full backup but only for the last day and I can't go back any further.
I still show a Backups.backupdb folder in the trash, but I don't know what, if anything, to do with it. If I use "Put Back" I will then have 3 such folders. I'll survive losing the backup files because I have been duplicating most of my data files from the past several months on another HD 'just in case,' but I want to get this set up correctly.
Any guidance on what I did, how to fix it? Thanks,
    Brian

You can't. Once removed from the Backups.backupdb folder, backup folders can't be put back:
Unless you need something from it, move the "Retrieved" folder to the trash and empty it (while holding the Alt/Option key).
Or, if there's nothing left on the drive (not a good idea to mix other stuff with Time Machine backups anyway), just erase it with Disk Utility.
