Urgent: MDM SP11 Vs SP12

Hello experts,
We have recently moved to MDM SP11.
However we heard that SP11 gives lots of problems so ppl move to SP12 Instead.
I need to justify why we need to move to sp12 now, Does anyone know/faced any issues with SP11 and that it is fixed and working fine in SP12.
I have refered Help documentation , which states whats in the release.
But what im looking for are the limitations of SP11 and thereby moving to SP12 solved them.
Please let me know your views.
Regards
Eva

Hi Eva,
The release notes for SP12 have the reference notes which talk about issues which are resolved with this service pack, you may get relevant information there.
Thanks,
Ravi

  • EP7 upgrade from SP11 to SP12

    Hi experts,
We are using read-write connection to LDAP from SAP Portal EP7 NW04s.
All user groups are maintained in LDAP and in portal we have assigned relevant roles to these groups.
After we’ve upgraded EP7 from SP11 to SP12, we can’t see the roles that are assigned to the groups.
It is reasonable to assume, that roles are still related to groups and we just can’t see it, because users get the relevant roles when they enter the portal.
Had anybody upgraded SP11 to SP12 and experienced the same problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    Inna

Hello, I am having the same problem. But nobody answered...
Look at this thread : Worksets problems after upgrade to SP12
    Did you find a solution??
    Thanks in advance!

  • Migration from SP12 to SP15

    Hi all,
I'm evaluating the migration from SP12 to SP15 on AIX5.3. Has anybody made any negative experiences regarding this issue? Are there any obstacles/glitches I will have to consider?
    Kind regards,
    Heiko

I've followed a couple of successful migration, both from SP11 and SP12, SunOs and Win32 respectively. Nothing particular. I heard "bad" thing only about SP14.

  • Data Federator - Building Web Services Data Source - Request Guidance

    Hello -
I am trying to build a web services data source in Data Federator.
    I have:
    1. In ECC, I have created a web service, proxy, port, endpoint, etc. and am testing it with WS Navigator
    2. I have created a Project in Data Federator of the type web service
        a. Here I have assigned the WSDL URL (generated in ECC) as the URL
        b. I have setup web service authentication using the same userid, pwd in the web services definition (note: I have set the
web services authentication to 'NONE' to avoing authorization issues)\
        c. I am now trying to "Generate Operations"
I keep getting the error :
The File Access Parameters are not valid (directory path = <HERE IS THE PATH TO THE WSDL WITH THE HOST/PORT stripped OUT>; file pattern = document
I believe that it is finding the WSDL, becuase when I change the WSDL from 'Document' to 'RPC', the error changes with the file pattern = rpc.
What needs to be done to the file access parameter piece.
    PLEASE provide guidance.  Thanks.

    Ananya,
We are using XI to load data to BI from source system. XI basically uses the same concept as Web Services - Real time data concept via RFC embeded in Proxies.
I was using web services to test data load - eventually we will use XI.
KJs blog is pretty good. I was able to get data loaded - after several iterations and several OSS notes. It is still not perfect - there are several manual steps . I am going to pick KJs brain on that.
We are on SP10 and looks like there are several bugs in RSRDA. Some of these are addressed in SP11 an SP12.
    Some notes to consider are
    0001003963, 0001008276,0001009260 and 001003265.
Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Planning Availability Times tab not available

    Dear All,
    Greetings!
We have a SAP NW 04s system with PI 7.0 SP 11, we are trying to do some actions in the Planning Availability Times tab at the Communication Channel Monitoring in Runtime Workbench.
But the Planning Availability Times tab is not available when I choose any of the Communication Channels, I am able to view only the Cluster Node and Administration Tabs in the browser screen.
Kindly let me know whether any configurations needs to be activated for the tab
    (or)
Any special authorizations to the user
    (or)
Is the feature available only from SP12, as I searched few OSS notes for Planning Availability Times and found that the corrections or changes refering to SP 12 and above for WAS 7.00.
Currently we are on the below mentioned SP's,

    SAP BASIS

    Hello Vineet
I am not sure exactly when this functionality was released (SP11 or SP12). I think it may be available in the latest SP11 patches (XIAFC, XIAF and XITOOLS). You would need to be on the latest patches to ensure you can use the functionality. If you still don't see the button then it will be necessary to go to SP12.
Regarding configuration etc, see the link below.

  • Basic question on classification

    Hi,
Why is classification used? How does it help beside being categorised differently than the actual folder structure? Please clarify.
    Thanks and regards,
    Arun

    Hi Arun,
    Refer to the link below-
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/bf/a17a05d15211d6b2c700508b6b8a93/frameset.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/bf/a17a05d15211d6b2c700508b6b8a93/frameset.htm</a>
Classification is used to classify your documents in a proper taxonomical manner.
For example - Say you have created a taxonomy on the basis of "technology". You have two categories - "portal" & "sap".
The category "portal" has subcategories "SP11" and "SP12".
Now say you upload a particular document that contains text and terms relating to "portal" then it automatically gets classified under the category "portal".
If you upload a document containing text "Poral SP11" it get classified under category "portal" and sub category "SP11"
Documents containing text relating to both "Portal" and "SAP" shall automatically appear in both the categories.
    Thanks,
    Samta

    Dear all

    SAP: EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01
    Interactive form properties:
    DiplayType: Native
    Enabled: True
    Form layout:ZCI
    Interface: XML
Submit button used from Web Dynpro Native.
Can someone please help me resolve this issue as it is very criticial for me.
    Many thanks,
    Ravikumar.

    Hi Ravikumar,
Your ABAP backend is of version NW7.01, but your ZCI script version is 710.20060821084622.325745.280724.
This is a very old ZCI script, delivered with NW 7.00 SP11 or SP12.
I assume that your ADS is still running on a NW7.00 system (JAVA stack!)
You have to update the ADS and you have to update the ZCI script of your form. See SAP note 999998, search for "The Web Dynpro application hangs during submit". There's a detailed explanation + solution description.

WISH YOU HAPPY NEW YEAR 2006
    FOR GETTING COLOR WEBDYNPRO APPLICATIONS

    Hi Kalasker,
Thanks for the New year wish & hope you too have a wonderful year ahead :).
Make sure you close your NWDS & re-open it after you copy these plugins. Even then if you are not able to see the themeeditor, it could be a problem with the version of your NWDS. Make sure you use a themeeditor compatible with your NWDS. For any information abt downloading themes & themeeditors refer SAP note 854870. This query may help you with this: Where to download the themeseditor?
    Hope this helps,
    Best Regards,
    Nibu.

    Hi
Once you have done developing the WebDynpro applications, You need to deploy them into portals as WD IViews. In the portal you apply the Themes.  That is one procedure.
Second , if you want to disply Graphical elements, you need follow
    Creating custom themes
    Developing a Theme Editor Project
There are a few steps in putting our own customized themes.
    Steps Involved
Theme editing does not come in the standard set of installation. We have to download a few files for this purpose.
    1. The first of these is a zip file containing the standard themes provided by SAP.
Download this file and unzip it in your local drive.
    NW04Stack09Themes
And it is available in the following link.
    [https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/business_packages/a1-8-4/nw04stack09themes.zip|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/business_packages/a1-8-4/nw04stack09themes.zip]
Note: NW04Stack09Themes is suitable for NW 04 stack 9 only. If we upgrade our stack we have to upgrade this zip file to the corresponding version.
The corresponding files for SP11 and SP12 are available in the following links. (Link paths might change in the future.)

  • Compare classes after upgrade

    Hi, guys
Next week we will apply CRM 4 SP11 and SP12 and this SP will probably
modify some of the standard ABAP classes for ICWebClient, such as CL_CRM_IC_BUPASEARCH that I copied. Is there any system tool that I can use to compare the new upgraded standard classes with  my copied from standard Z classes?
    Thanks for your help!
    Joaquin

    HI Fornos,
You can do version comparision for that ...i.e,
    Utilities->versions-> version Management ..
This does the comparision between the previous code ( before Upgrade ) and Modified Code ...

    Santosh
