URGENT-MUSIC VIDEO WILL NOT PLAY

Ok, i know this sound desperate, but technically it is. I have to know the entire dance section of "Thriller" by Michael Jackson by Monday. So i bought the music video and it works just fine on iTunes, but when i play it on my iPod, it goes to the black "Video" screen for about 15 seconds and then goes bak to the menu. I open the video through the video menu, it is set to "Off" on TV Out, the TV signal is NTSC, and the widescreen is off. I've tried reseting it and it still does not work.
Im sorry if i gave you too much info, i just want to give all the facts so you have something to work with.

Oh and by the way, it wont let me restore the iPod, it says an unknown error occured

Regular playlists vs smart playlist does not make a difference. What I noticed is that some videos create this behavior and some not. I created 2 videos and 2 music playlists, one with 2 songs and 2 videos (that I encoded myself with Handbrake). Another list with 2 videos and 2 songs, videos encoded with Handbrake, but that I noticed they triggered the behavior. The first playlist played fine, with no problems. The second one, created the problem. When I look at the video, it is the same type of video (bit rate, audio channels, etc...) I don't see why it would do that.
Later I will test: playing those videos in question and then selecting songs to see if they play.

My itune music videos will not play through my soundlink air

Why do my itune music videos not play through my Bose Soundlink Air? My downloaded music plays fine. Also my music videos play through my iTouch its just through my Mac computer they won't.

NPR Music videos will not play.

None of the videos on NPR music will play. They play on IE and Chrome. I have updated flash and downloaded Real Player.

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.

Some videos will not play (blank screen).

Some of my videos will not play. I select the video and a "Play" arrow shows in the upper left portion of the screen, but the screen is dark (blank). I can press Menu and return.
I don't believe it's a size issue because certain other larger videos do play. Nor do I think it's a format issue because all of the videos are the same format (*.m4v). It also doesn't appear to be a time/sync issue because some videos added after others do play and some don't.
I really don't have a problem reformatting and starting over if that is the best or only solution as I only use iTunes and don't have calendar, notes, etc.

Where are these from? Are they from the iTunes Store or where they downloaded elsewhere and then added to your library? Perhaps you can try restoring your iPod to factory settings and then resyncing the videos back over to it.
If the videos are not from iTunes, perhaps you can try and re-convert them using a third party utility such as Handbrake or MPEG Streamclip.

DustinMedlam, I have the same exact problem. I started using my Iphone 4S for shooting video about 2 months ago and tranferred them to my Windows machine with Windows 7. I use the clips in Sony Vegas pro 11 and make short movies. I upgraded to ios 6 last week and every video that I shoot with my iphone 4S now is not usable in Quictime or Sony Vegas???? My old videos from before ios 6 play just fine and I can use them in Sony Vegas with no problems. The only way to play the files is with Windows media player. this does me no good as I just began making short films and now I can not use any of the video I have shot since ios 6. I also have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and I shoot video with it and use the clips in Sony Vegas with no issues!?? I can not believe this is not BLOWING up on the internet like the WIFI issue is..... What do we do? All my video gear is for my Iphone not my galaxy S2. This is very annoying. I also notice that no one from Apple response to these support forums. So why are they available?? What a JOKE!

Try Hard Reset > Restore > Contact Apple for service.

Video will not play, yet audio does.

Like the header says, all of a sudden I go to work on a project I've never had trouble with and the video will not play; it is frozen wherever the cursor is. Yet the audio does play. I've tried clearing cache, clearing premiere cache, gone all over the internet to try and find an answer, of course India is closed right now, so no help there, not that they really give it anyway. So I'm asking if anyone might have experienced this one and figured it out despite Adobe. I'm on a PC with Windows 8 and terabytes and terabytes of storage; plenty of space left on disc, too. As I said; this has never been even a hint of a problem Just started up today. This even beats most Adobe "beta testing" problems they heap on us unsuspecting sheep. So I'm completely flummoxed. A prize to whoever knows what's up with this! It's a new one on me... Thanks in advance to whichever genius knows the answer! :-)

OK, I found the answer by myself and wish to share it with those having the same issue. It turns out that the saved workspace can corrupt allowing audio to play, while video remains frozen. The fix is to change the workspace. Go to WINDOW, after creating a new style workspace and save the new workspace. Problem fixed. Also, if there are already a number of other saved workspaces that involve video you can simply change to that one and it will be fixed. Delete the corrupt workspace. That's it! This was discovered through a simple process of elimination which proves that bugs really can surface anywhere for no intuitive reason. Hope this helps you!

I noticed after switching from IE9 to Firefox that some website videos will not play. How is this corrected?

I sometimes want to look at how-to videos. Some play and some do not in Firefox. When a message does come up on the screen it says someting like 'sorry, but the video will not play...do you wish to download the plugin?'. Because I am very catious about what I download, I am not confident about downloading a plugin. Does anyone know what I need for Firefox to play all website videos?

Certain website's videos will not play, MLB and Jay Leno's garage. Why?

Not sure when this started to happen - perhaps the last update but now the Baseball website and the Jay Leno's garage website's video will not play. They appear to go to sleep while loading. (The little circle goes round and round but never stops.) Other sites seem to work fine.

Try these steps, taking the next one if a previous one didn't help:

ITunes videos will not play

Ever since I've updated to the newer iTunes version, my videos will not play correctly. Any video I bought on iTunes will not work. Also any video previews or trailers from iTunes will not work. Any other video from online or ones that I've recorded work normally. When I try to play a video, this is what it looks like:
The picture does not show, but the audio plays perfectly. Quicktime and every other software is updated. I've tried to find the answer on the forums but couldn't find one similar to my problem. Also, I cannot contact any apple support by phone because I'm currently living in China and this or e-mail is the most conveinent.

Videos will not play in presentation mode. They play fine when I preview them in Keynote but once I am presenting it trys to play and then skips the slide.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. my quicktime videos will not play on my hp envy15 (windows 7 64). the screen goes black, freezes and i have to restart.
I have tried to open files by opening itunes or quicktime or media player. I have been able to play the videos broefly but then they typically freeze.

Uninstall Quicktime, Then reinstall it.
