[URGENT] Need Help Updateing BIOS

well my concern is recently purchased Lenovo G580 (2689)
my BIOS version is 62CN41WW, 10-09-12
I want to flash the BIOS kindly somebody help me to geta detailed procedure for flashing the BIOS
Any help would be highly appriciated
And if so is it possible to Remove the exiting the Pheonix BIOS and Flash it and Install Insyde BIOS??....kindly help me

You can follow this article on how to safely flash the BIOS.
As for modifying the BIOS, you can only update the BIOS that came with the PC. If you flash it with a different type (i.e. Phoenix BIOS to Insyde BIOS, you might end-up corrupting the CMOS settings rendering the computer unsuable.
It maybe possible though to modify BIOS files using different tools as discussed in this thread.

Z87-GD65 - Need help updating BIOS, might've bricked

I recently tried to flash/update my motherboard and I think I might've bricked it. Could somebody confirm and tell me what I should do?
I have the MSI Z87-GD65 Motherboard with an Intel i5 4690k.
My BIOS was an older version and I needed to update to support Haswell refresh. This is what happened:
I downloaded the latest BIOS update from the MSI website, extracted the files to a USB. I plugged that in and updated the BIOS through the MFLASH feature in the MSI BIOS. I updated the MSI BIOS & ME with the USB and I think the updating got to around 30-40% before the screen went black then after a little bit I got back to the BIOS menu. I checked the version and confirmed that the BIOS was updated to the latest version.
Thereafter I restarted my computer a few times and noticed that it took a little longer for the system to get to the prompt to enter "DEL" to get to BIOS compared to the first time when I booted my computer. Everything else seemed fine so I went ahead and turned off the computer again and removed the USB and replaced it with another USB to install Windows. Then as the computer booted I see an screen that shows the BIOS and ME is updating from 30%-100% then my screen went black. Now when I turn on the computer it remains black but the system powers on/fans work.
I looked up several sources to make sure I was flashing the MOBO correctly and I followed all the directions I found through MSI.
I pretty much followed the instructions here exactly:
Also I think my motherboard comes with a back-up BIOS. Is that a viable option to switch to? Are there any difference, how does it work? Also would resetting the CMOS do anything? I've been trying to figure out how I can fix the problem without having to RMA but was hoping to get some more knowledgeable advice before doing anything.

You should already be at the working bios (b) so there should be no need for switching. But of course boot from the good bios.

Yes, you switch to the bad bios WITHOUT restarting or turning off while the machine is running.

Once you switched nothing will change for you. You will have the options from the MSI USB tool youbooted from the stick we prepared earlier. There you select the number of the flash option

Right. What comes with the bios is the ME firmware (hardware level) but in Windows you also need to install the driver (software level). Therefor you install the driver linked after all went fine and you are back in Windows.

When I compile this in Flex Builder 3 it says: The element type 'mx:Application' must be terminated by the matching end-tag '</mx:Application>'.
but I have this end tag in my file, but when I try to switch from source view to desgin view it says, that: >/mx:Script> expected to terminate element at line 71, this is right at the end of the .mxml file. I have actionscript(.as) file for scripting data.

I know it's been a while but… did you fix this?
It looks to me like you are terminating the <mx:Application> tag at the top. The opening tag should end like this: resultFormat="e4x">, not resultFormat="e4x"/> (Remove the /).

First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

the update listed on the acer website, that mentions the a500 update is 'kernal source code (for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich) it's 96.7MB's released 2012/05/08' is that the right one i need? I Need Help in BIOS Update!!!

Hey!! i got the 875p Neo LSR motherboard and the BIOS version that i currently have or got with my board was 1.4 and the LIVE Update 3 says the online version is 1.7. There was something to do with Flash BIOS or something and i tried it and my PC would not reboot. So i had to format my HDD and install Windowns again and it did work. That was another pc and i got the same board on my 2nd pc and i downloaded all the appropraite updated BIOS files from the Link given in another Thread on the forum so I was wondering if anyone could guide me through of how to install the new BIOS files, as i downloaded the 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 ones, since i dont wanna end up with a dead board!! I have an envy laptop running InsydeH20 bios rev f14.
the bios doesn't recognize the internally connected hdd/ssd.
I have heard that with insyde bios', sometimes you have to unlock 'secret capabilities' to recognize hardware incl internal hdd.
but I am just trying to reflash my bios.
the problem is that I cant get into windows because it doesn't recognize my hard drive and windows doesn't allow insallation to usb connected drives.
I downloaded the patch from hp.com for my product and it actually has an option for making a bootable USB for use on the actual system, and I did this. the instructions are to just restart my computer with the bootable usb. I have tried Legacy support on and off, neither updates bios.
I highly doubt it has anything to do with the physical sata connector.
basically I need to flash my bios from bootable usb. I have done some research about making a bootable dos usb etc etc but I don't know what program to even run and how..

I need to flash the bios of my system. the bios is not recognizing hardware and cannot boot into windows to run the bios flash for windows.
on my other comp I ran the bios update patch and chose ' install to bootable usb ' so that I could use it on my system.
cannot run on my laptop. tried booting from the media. tried allowing 'legacy' compatibility.

Need help updating OS 10.2.1

I need to update my system software to 10.2.8. I have dial-up which is extremely slow, so I thought I'd update in parts rather than using the combo update. I had no trouble getting from 10.2.0 to 10.2.1. I've downloaded the 10.2.2 update three times. It seems to be working fine until I open the update icon. It says "The operation could not be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code 1000)". I can't find anywhere what kind of error this is. I have an old imac. I didn't think that would matter since I'm already in 10.2.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

first of all: WELCOME TO THE DISCUSSIONS!
The 10.2.8 Combo Update is 97 MB, the sum of all interim updates is more than 136 MB. Furthermore I saw, that the 10.2.5 Update is not online anymore. Use a download utility such as SpeedDownload or iGetter to download the 10.2.8 Combo update. With these you can interrupt, pause and resume any download.
Also, do not forget to Repair permissions before and after an update!

I need help updating the graphic drivers for my laptop.

Recently purchasd a new game and I am having some issues with the graphics. Every post I have read suggests it is an issue between HP and amd. I keep trying and seem to be going backwards. I would love to actually talk to someone from hp but they haven their number very well. I have tried every combination between hp and amd and I am obviously missing something. It seems Toshiba has published a special version of BIOS for Windows Vista.
If you want you can check it on the Toshiba driver page.
But if your Vista runs correctly on the notebook with previous BIOS version you dont need to update the BIOS.
I would recommend updating the BIOS if any strange operational behavior will appear.
