  • Nokia E75 does not support sis files

I've been trying to upgrade the Ovi maps on my E75, because navigation has kept me saying that I need to renew the license. I went to Nokia web site and found out that I need to upgrade Ovi maps in order to get the free navigation. I have a 202.12.01 firmware and I installed it once again when I had unsuccessfully tried to upgrade Ovi maps. I have Ovi maps v3.01 09wk44b01 (MW OpenGL LM MN) and Map version 0.1.24.114 (OpenBitLM 6.22.5). I've deleted all old maps and started to download new ones successfully over Nokia Ovi Suite. I've downloaded Nokia Ovi Suite and followed the instructions for downloading and installing the newest version of Ovi maps application (I suppose it must be newer than the one I have on now, because navigation still wants me to buy license, I guess it must be 3.03 or higher). I've tried it several times from the scratch, just to make sure I did it right. Of course I've also chosen the right E75 phone from the drop down menu and I downloaded the file nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.sis. I double-clicked it and everything seems to be right, but when action on the phone should be required the installation guide says "Nokia E75 does not support sis files". From the sis file name I can only now see that I have this version already installed.
Does this mean I can not use navigation for free on E75?
Can anybody help me ASAP, because I need the navigation evey day very badly?

I'v followed the directions of chanchan05 "Just uninstall the maps app, delete the folder and file I mentioned, then reboot your phone. Open the maps app, and it should recreate the qf file and cities folder in a version compatible to 3.03." on /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Wasn-t-it-supposed-to-be-quot-Navigation-on-your-Nokia-Free/m-p/668305#M...
Afterwards I installed the sis file you pointed me to and it worked. The maps on the phone were deleted, so I downloaded new ones over Nokia Ovi Suite and tried the navigation. Unfortunately it stills demands buying the licence for the navigation.
I guess this is because the recommended sis file is v3.01 and not v3.03? Is that right?
    Any other solution?

  • Why nokia 500 will not support widgets after the b...

please reply....why nokia 500 willnot support widgets after the belle update...i buy this phone for belle and all its specs...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Having read the FAQ on the Nokia Homepage (I'm assuming this is what you meant...) this is what is mentioned.
"Nokia Belle is specifically tailored to each phone model, including the Nokia 500. Due to technical specifications, Nokia Belle for Nokia 500 differs to other Nokia Belle phones in the following aspects:
Nokia 500 with Nokia Belle only supports 4 homescreens.
Nokia 500 does not support NFC.
FM transmitter and widget are not supported in Nokia 500.
Nokia 500 includes Nokia Maps 3.06 instead of 3.08.
Additionally, Nokia 500 will get Angry Birds with the Nokia Belle update"
Basically, due to technical limitations, you will get
    1) 4 homescreens
    2) There is no NFC or FM transmitter therefore you do not get THOSE widgets.
You SHOULD get all the other widgets (the only reason you will not get the FM and NFC widgets is because you don't have that hardware. That's how I read it anyway.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why the nokia n73 me not support N-Gage games ????...

why the nokia n73 me not support N-Gage games ???????
    Nokia N73, product code 0539295
    Version:  4.0839.42.2.1

Ngage has been around for quite a while now and has been "coming soon" for the N73 for as long as I can remember.
If they're taking this long to adapt it to the N73 it's almost certainly because they're having difficulty streamlining it to work on such a poorly-equipped handset.
Don't get me wrong. I think the N73's a great little device and I love mine. It's just not up to the task of a gaming platform.

  • Support Chinese Character

    Hi,
I have some problems on handling Chinese Character.
I pass Chinese words to CFC and then do the SELECT search in DB. However, I find it cannot find Chinese words correctly.
When I try to prompt (  alert(#trim(URLDecode(search_tenderee_name))#)  ) the wordings retrieved in CFC, it shows me incorrectly word.
I use the following method to call CFC:
    ColdFusion.navigate('cfc/control.cfc?method=loadNameListSelection&search_name='+escape(doc ument.getElementById('search').value),'tableList');
Can anyone help me to solve this problem?
    P.S. I have also tried:
    ColdFusion.navigate('cfc/control.cfc?method=loadNameListSelection&search_name='+document.g etElementById('search').value,'tableList');
    alert(#trim(search_tenderee_name)#)
It also cannot prompt me the correct Chinese Character.

no you can't if you have a US variant it has a language pack specific to north american region. you might be able to go to nokia care and ask them to install a language pack with Chinese language but make sure it also has other languages that you are likely to use . also it will cost you as it is not standard to switch language packs
You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me ! In love with technology and all that it can offer. Join me in discovery....

  • Does not support french character in UTF-8

I am using adobe flash 3 and all coding pattern in action script 2.
I have   french language's xml file which I have to show content in flash player. I have used UTF-8 for encoding. But my french encoding character is not working. How to show french language character such as " é " character ? I have used " é " for " é "character in UTF-8 format. But shows exactly what I encode  é. Is there any way to support encoded character in xml ? so, that it could show in flash player in french language.
My French Language xml file is attached with this post.

I hope you mean you are using Flash CS3? because Flash 3 is from more than 10 years ago and doesn't support AS2 or unicode AFAIK.
Assuming that you are using CS3 and that your XML file is properly saved as UTF-8. Then the usual problem is that the special character has not been embedded in the text field or that the font doesn't have that character.
But first are you sure that the file is saved as UTF-8? I ask because many people have come to these forums and say that their file is UTF-8 and we work on it for a couple of days and at the end they find out that it isn't. Just adding the UTF-8 header tag to a text file does not make it UTF-8. Whatever program that created the file must support proper UTF-8 encoding.
You don't need to do any special escaping or converting the character to html code. If it is unicode just type the character normally. And save your XML file.
The next thing to check is whether Flash is reading the character correctly. You can do this in a number of ways. What I usually do is have the code that reads the XML and then either trace the nodes from the onLoad handler. Or in the test environment I go to the debug menu and "List Variables." That will show all the variables and their value. If the character shows properly in the output window then you know that the file is encoded properly and that Flash is reading it properly and that the problem must be with the textfield and the font embedding.
If the character isn't right in the output window then you know that the problem is with the text encoding.

  • In my nokia asha 306 not support higer quality vid...

    Hey
sir what is this in old software all high quality videos are supported but in new software high quality not supported i want good video player

This has happened with my Nokia Asha 306. It had version 3.81 and it was playing this video very well but after I have had updated it to version 7..42, that very same video is not played properly. Its video is not visible with the message that the video is of higher resolution. But then how does that video was being played in version 3.81 correctly?
    My product code is:
    059L900: RM-767 MEA_MAA_RED_NULL_PK
    SW version: 07.42     variant: 33
I hope that support people would convey this to developers so that in the next version this is resolved.
I tried attaching that video that I was able to play in Nokia Asha 306, SW version 3.81, but could not.
This information is what I get from GOM player when I play this file:
    [Ver. 2, 1, 50, 5145(EN)]
    *** DIRECTSHOW FILTER LIST ***
    1. Default DirectSound Device
    2. VMR9 - Renderless mode
    3. Gretech Video
    4. Gretech Audio
    5. Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder
    6. Gretech MP4 Source
    *** VIDEO INFO ***
    Input Type : mp4v(GVC)
    Input Size : 320 x 240
    Output Type : YUY2
    Output Size : 320 x 240
    FrameRate(Frame/sec) : 0.00 (25.00)
    *** AUDIO INFO ***
    SampleRate(Sample/sec) : 44100
    BitRate(Bit/sample) : 16
    Channels : 2
    KBitRate(KBit/sec) : 1411
So it is clear that the video is 320 x 240 and it was played correctly before ver 7.42.
    We need that ability back.
    Thanks

What should i do to end this problem?

Do You mean downloading from phone directly?

Don't say you want to help - just do it! Happy user of Nokias: 6150 SAT (still work), 6021 (used as backup, still work), 5220 XpressMusic (Drown, screaming for Contact Service), C3-00 (my current phone).

  • Nokia e5 enhancement not supported

hi guys..i recently bought nokia e5 and i also got headsets ,chargers along with it.After a few days when i plug in my headset 'wh-102 hs-125 stereo headset' into the mobile i get 'enhancement not supported'.Could anyone give me a solution?I tried firmware upgrade and resetting factory settings but none appear to work.Pls help me.Thanks.

I think your headset is faulty.  There have been a few other threads about this, such as
    /t5/Connectivity/E5-and-Skullcandy-Headset/m-p/917639
My guess is that the phone does some kind of electrical/resistance check with the rings on the connector, and uses the result as a cheap form of plug-and-play.  When the phone fails to consistently recognize the headset as a headset, you know the connectivity is failing.  When you see an "Enhancement Not Support" message, you know it has totally failed.
Talk to Nokia support or to whoever sold you the E5 about getting a replacement.

  • X64 JRE does not support Chinese?

I have application that runs in multi-languages. I have pre-defined list of languages to be supported and I add the language to the combobox if it is installed in the machine where the application is running.
I used Locale.getAvailableLocales() to check for installed languages. In x64 machines with JRE 1.5 or 1.6 installed this call does not return East Asian languages such as Chinese and Japanese eventhough it is installed. Even in Chinese OS the call to Locale.getAvailableLocales() does not return chinese. I made several tests and it looks like the x64 JRE of 1.5 and 1.6 has this problem. I tried the 1.4 JRE and installed it in x64 machine and it was able to detect that Chinese is installed.
I tried setting the default languange to Chinese-China through Control Panel but Locale.getAvailableLocales() still does not return chinese. Although, all other programs are already in chinese. On the other hand, Locale.getDefault returns zh_CN which is correct. I don't understand how Locale.getDefault could return zh_CN while Locale.getAvailableLocales() did not include Chinese in the list.
I also tried SimpleDateFormat.getAvailableLocales() and DateFormat.getAvailableLocales() but they return the same list as Locale.getAvailableLocales.
Does anyone know of other ways of checking for installed languages that would work in x64 machines running 1.5 or 1.6 JRE?

    Hi,
I know nothing of x64 JRE's, but when running into a similar problem I eventually found that I installed the (Sun) JRE with the default options. I needed to re-install the JRE and then clicked "Advanced options" (or something similar) on the first installation screen. Then you have an option to select all fonts, including Asianfonts). After I installed with all possible options my problems were gone.
I'm not at all sure that this is causing your problem but you might try,
    Piet

  • Nokia 6131 NFC not supported by iSync2.4?

... although the compatibility list says that 2.4 Nokia 6131 is supported.
    Can anybody help?

That's a good point, and I should have taken the time to point that out.
It's not particularly important that Nokia has chosen to offer free plug-ins for a limited number of their mobile handsets not presently supported by iSync. The really important thing here is that a manufacturer has actually chosen to support the technology at all!
I do support a vibrant developer community, and think that Nova Media and others who have taken the time to create plug-ins and, who continue to support them, deserve to be compensated for their efforts. It worth noting that Nova Media was out front with support for Nokia mobile handsets about a year before Nokia itself chose to offer support. And, as Jan points out, they continue to support units that Nokia itself does not.

  • My Nokia 6681 is not supporting for PC Suite SMS/M...

How can I access my "Nokia 6681" PC Suite support for SMS / MMS. Totally dissapoint in this regards. Please help. Raaj. Bangalore.

After researching this phone on the website, discussions with customer service, a call to the flagship store, and even trying a bootleg (LG) micro cable with no success, I relented and went to the flagship store in NYC to purchase the $30.00 CA-101.  Fortunately the sales assoc. attempted to connect a cable to my phone to confirm that it would work. It did not. Ironically, the results were similar to the results I got with the LG cable, it would charge but it wouldn't communicate.
Fit to be tied, I called the Nokia support line from the store.  After at least 30 minutes I was told that the PC Suite version available on the Nokia website is not compatible with the 1606 and that a version that is compatible is forthcoming but they don't yet have a release date.
I'm still in shock in that page 18 of the user guide that (a) comes with the phone and (b) is also on the Nokia website, specifically says that "You can transfer data between your device and a compatible PC by using a CA-101 USB data cable."
    It couldn't be any clearer.
How does Nokia reconcile sending the phone to market if one of the "Main features" isn't available?

  • Nokia 6500 - charger not supported

just bought a nokia 6500 classic. first thing i know when i plug in the charger, i get a message "charger not supported". this is bizarre. nothing wrong with the charger itself, it seems, but a software quirk? anyone else with the same problem?

I have a really bizarre problem:
I bought the Nokia 6500 classic out of o2 earlier this year.
My Dad also has the same phone but on T Mobile.
Last night both our phones were low on battery, we use the same type of charger but have one each.
When we plugged our phones in we both got a message on our phones saying 'charger not supported'.
We swapped chargers but got the same message, I've tried charging the phones through the USB cable but this hasn't worked either, have taken the batteries out and put them back in but that was just wishful thinking, have left the phones on charge for hours and still nothing.
Both phones are completely dead now apart from the occasional flash and then the screen just goes black.
I've called o2 who have no idea what the problem is and have said to bring it into the shop, I also called T Mobile on behalf of my Dad who said the same thing.
I tried calling Nokia but just got an ear piercing fax machine sound.
My worry about taking them into the shop is that most likely they'll get send away and we'll have to wait decades to get the phones back or we'll be accused of dropping the phones etc.
The thing is, it's nothing that we've done to the phones as this happened to the same phones on the same night at the same time and that's just too bizarre.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks!

  • Nokia 6300 charger not supported

when i plug in my nokia charger, it says charger not supported, what shall i do, the charger works on my sisters nokia 6300 but not mine!!!

There is a little chip inside the phone that if it is faulty or damaged you get this message.
If it was sealed and brand new then i would put it down to a poorly manufactured handset.
The shop needs to take this back and replace it for you.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.
