Urgent!!! OAM install

My OAM points to OID (VIP, and separate data store for user and policy, configuration; replicated)
It so happened that they reinstalled OID user store and from that time I having problems setting up OAM. It worked fine before that. So, after the reinstall I tried to reconfigure the Identity, Webpass following note :402738.1 on metalink. After that I tries uninstalling everything and also now OID Policy store was re-installed. So It was like a fresh install. I am at a state where in I have installed Identity and Webpass and I am trying to restart webserver and identity server as part of installation process during configuring of webpass. The Identity server doesn't start.
I get the following Errors.
Engine did not initialize.
DB_RUNTIME ERROR 0x00000711 ../dbmanager.cpp:540 "Could not get any DB Profile during initialization of DBManager" WhichApp^Oracle Access Manager Identity Server ComponentId^identitysrv1_6022

Well, the error message is indicative enough - the db profile that is already in your configuration data is not usable by the newly configured identity server. The problem is that because the server won't come up, you can't get to the UI to change this.
So you have two options - and make sure you back up your directory contents before you try these, just in case -
1. Blow away the configuration tree (or decide on a new subtree for configuration data) and run through the web-based product setup again. You can even try to delete only the node obcontainerId=DBAgents inside your configuration data and rerunning setup. That should create the db profile correctly this time.
2. If you have privileges to directly modify the configuration directory using an LDAP browser, find the node obname=default-<your_identity_server_id> under obcontainerId=DBAgents and in this, modify the value of the attribute "obdbusedby" to your new server id. Alternatively, you could set the value of the attribute "obDBUsedByFlag" to 4 (the value will be at 32). After this change, the identity server should start right up!

• URGENT: Re-installing CS 5.5 after CS 6 installed

How do I reinstall CS 5.5 after already having CS 6 installed on my computer, without losing the data I worked with through CS 6? I bought the Master Collection for CS 5.5 three years ago, but I lost it this year due to a hard drive crash. This year, I installed the trial version of CS 6, but it expired recently.
I tried downloading CS 5.5 again through this link (Other downloads) but an error saying 'image not recognized' pops up when I try to install it on my computer. Image is attached.
I have already received this reply (Re: URGENT: Re-installing CS 5.5 after having CS 6 on computer) so it would be helpful if you could address my specific installation issue with CS5.5
I have tried chatting with a sales person, and they have re-directed me to this forum, so please do not re-direct me to a chat. I would also not want to spend extra money to upgrade to CS 6.

Download again using a different browser... nobody here (or at Adobe, since that is an OLD product) is going to be able to help with a corrupted download
When you do get a good download... write the file(s) and a text file with your serial number to backup!!!

Regards,
Deena.

2 things.
How did you register the agent ? - through UI or through rreg.
if through UI i would suggest you try to register using rreg inband registration and let me know if that is successful.
If that fails (which i think it will)
Its most likely a problem with your java version.
I know for sure that Java version 1.6.0_37 doesn't work and that 1.6.0.41 works for sure.
Can you try installing a different version of java.
if on linux use the
update-alternatives --config java
as root to point to the java (other version that you installed) and try again.
Let me know if that helps.
Cheers

• OIF+OAM: install/config  issues

This post is long. Hoping that at least one of the issues is seen by someone or someone has insights before we open SR(s) with Oracle.
We have a working OAM/OVD 11.1.1.5 installation (done according to the EDG at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/core.1111/e12035/toc.htm).
We started an evaluation of OIF and ran into some issues grouped under Install and Config categories.
h2. Install issues:
We installed it per chapter 16 of that EDG and and all the steps went OK except step 16.7 (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/core.1111/e12035/oif.htm#BAJCJHBG).The config properties userldaphaenabled, fedldaphaenabled are getting set via WLST but don't appear to be persisted anywhere. On a restart they are false again. Are they supposed to be saved to config.xml of the IDMDomain? Can I try adding them manually like this as child elements under each of the wls_oif managed servers?
<datastore>
<userldaphaenabled>true</userldaphaenabled>
<fedldaphaenabled>true</fedldaphaenabled>
</datastore>
If those settings were properly set what is it supposed to do? I can see that config.xml, cots.xml files are stored as blobs in one of the OIF db tables. Will the above setting move them from DB to LDAP?
h2. Config/Runtime Issues:
We proceeded with configuration because the /sp/metadata and /idp/metadata test URLs are working fine via the VIP address. we used this manual to do the integration.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e15740/oif.htm#CACJDDGE. In section 4.3.1.6 (Configure Oracle Identity Federation in SP Mode) of this document it says to configure Oracle SSO. We only have OAM and not osso. We went ahead and configured the second tab (OAM) in the screen capture in that section as well (is there any documentation on how to configure that tab?)
In SP mode (section 4.3) , testing of a resource protected with OIFScheme in OAM is not successful. It does not show any OIF login screen. Instead it takes the user to through these URLs:
         1.     https://sso.company.com/test-app/
         2.     https://sso.company.com/fed/user/sposso
         3.     https://sso.company.com/fed/user/authnoam?refid=id-tB20kXzmHjpn6MUSdOr7qbmd2OU-
         4.     https://sso.company.com/fed/sp/art20?SAMLart=AAQAAbV1ElKBtte9uuhKoeo4h%2FMufCdY2wDlDIM2T9dL%2BvhsvtfUrwCuZg8%3D&RelayState=id-JPh8MY05pAZRckl4yOc2J4-80GI-
and then shows this error in the browser:
Error 401--Unauthorized
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.2 401 Unauthorized
The request requires user authentication. The response MUST include a WWW-Authenticate header field (section 14.46) containing a challenge applicable to the requested resource. The client MAY repeat the request with a suitable Authorization header field (section 14.8). If the request already included Authorization credentials, then the 401 response indicates that authorization has been refused for those credentials. If the 401 response contains the same challenge as the prior response, and the user agent has already attempted authentication at least once, then the user SHOULD be presented the entity that was given in the response, since that entity MAY include relevant diagnostic information. HTTP access authentication is explained in section 11.
The following errors are seen in the WLS_OIF1 (we turned off WLS_OIF2 during this test) managed server logs:
<Mar 10, 2012 10:58:37 AM PST> <Error> <oracle.security.fed.eventhandler.authn.engines.oam.OAMAuthnEventHandler> <FED-18068> <Authentication failed: WebGate did not authenticate the user>

A minor other problem seems to be with adcri:
Cause: DFW-40112: There was an error executing adrci commands; the following errors have been found "Cannot run program "/app/iam/middleware/wlserver_10.3/server/adr/adrci": java.io.IOException: error=12, Cannot allocate memory"
Action: Ensure that command line tool "adrci" can be executed from the command line.
We can run the adcri tool from command line using the same LD_LIBRARY_PATH as used by the wls_oif1 server. Why is it trying to run it and failing and what is it trying to do? Can we turn it off?

I reinstalled the suite. This time, during the Policy Manager install I left the "Root Directory for Policy Domains" (step/page 7-12) at the default, which was "/". The GUI now works correctly.
On the previous install I changed the path to /AccessManagerPolicy -- it wasn't clear to me what the installer meant by 'root directory'. I did try to get /AccessManagerPolicy to work by creating a directory under my web root to match, but I still had issues with the Policy Domain -- the no policy domains would match. So, it looks like this parameter should never be changed in the installer.
Aaron.

• Urgent: OAM 11g allow/block URLs

Hi All
I am using OAM 11g R1 and want to allow some and block some URLs. Please let me know if this can be configured in OAM.
URLs to be allowed:
http://Hostname1:80/rootContext?x=1
http://Hostname1:80/rootContext?x=2
URLs to be blocked:
http://Hostname1:80/rootContext?x=3
http://Hostname1:80/rootContext?x=4
Please help. This is really urgent
Thanks

I am aware of OAM configurations but want to know more about this specific configuration where the resource URL is the same and just the query parameter is different.

• URGENT: OAM 10g server and webgate certificates query

Hi experts,
There is an OAM 10g environment. OAM Access Server and Identity Server is installed and up and running. OAM servers are in CERT mode. So to install webgates residing in different machines from OAM servers, can we use the same OAM Access Server certificates for WebGate certificate while installing WebGate?
Thanks
IDM Team.
Edited by: 898990 on Mar 13, 2013 1:38 PM

Figured it out. The OAM proxy (AccessServerConfigProxy @port 5575) for 10g webgates was configured to listen in cert mode. I had to switch it to open mode. Not sure how it got switched, but got the webgate install going for now. Thanks.

• Urgent: OAM-ISA-OWA Integration

Hi All,
We have installed Exchange 2007 on Windows 2003 EE. It has been integrated with OAM. (WebGate has been installed on IIS) When internal users access the OWA resource they get a pop-up from OAM and they get correctly authenticated. ISA 2006 has been installed on another server and is acting as a proxy server to this Exchange 2007. There is no webgate installed on this ISA server. All the external users go through this ISA server to access their mail box. The issue is when any external user access the /owa resource via ISA, they do not get any pop-up from OAM, but directly get the OWA login form. This happens only when a resource is accessed via ISA.
Any suggestions on what we could be missing?

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Actually i have a basic doubt on versions. I am using 10.1.4.0.1 Build RC2 and weblogic 10.0 version and the SSPI connector i was using is Oracle_Access_Manager10_1_4_0_1_Win32_BEA_WL_SSPI.
So do i need to upgrade OAM to 10.1.4.2 version, because when i install the connector I can see the wl8NetPointSecurityProviders.jar and wl7NetPointSecurityProviders.jar. Are these jars supported with WL 10.0 version.
Please let me know.
Thanks,

• URGENT Cannot install Ora9i rel 2 Client on Win XP Pro SP2

Hi folks:
I have a problem installing Oracle 9i in a "clean" machine with Win XP Pro SP2 with .NET 1.1 running on a P4@3GHz and 512MBytes of RAM and 30GBytes of HD free, when I start de UOI only appear de Oracle's splash screen and when I select install/Deinstall products, nothing happens (in the administrator task appear not response and close automatically).
I read a lot of solutions about this here, always the same result, NOTHING.
- I rename symcjit.dll to symcjit.old (of course i copied the installation CD at the oracle subdirectory to avoid long directory paths)
- Install a JDK 1.3 and 1.4 (and deinstall them after and clean the registry)
- I login on windows with a user name without rare characters.
After trying all above and more that I've forgotten I try install a older version (8.1.7) but appear this message.
"There was a problem opening the staging area. Please make sure the 'Source' you have specified is valid"
of course the source is valid (products.jar) and I edited the oraparam.ini file to change the relative paths to absolute, but the same message appear.
¿I'm doing something wrong?¿incompatibilites between Oracle and Windows?
Thanks for any help, I need to resolve this problem ASAP!

Could it be a firewall blocking a port that Oracle needs?
Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Windows XP turns on the firewall by default.
Unless, there is a conflict somewhere with the installation program and what you already have installed. Such as, do you have a version of some Oracle software already installed?
Could it be a conflict with the Java runtime? The Oracle Universal Installer uses its own Java VM.
Have you tried downloading the latest client software for Oracle 9.2 and trying that?

• URGENT : Pb install last active x on TSE server

1 - Only administrator can ue flash on TSE.2
2 - I need the last install file, i don't want to download
the active for each machine !!!

Hi Jack,
By proxying I mean enabling proxying of your new resource explicitly under the routing section of the administration interface. When you create a new resource the proxy will set by default the "Use default setting derived from a more general resource" option but depending on how you have configured proxying for the "entire server" resource or other additional resources you may need to explicitly enable proxying of that resource.
Chaining means forwarding your requests to other proxys. Again this can be configured on resource basis (pretty much anything you can configure in the proxy server can be configured on a resource basis)
So, whether you are filtering OBJECT tags for the "entire server" or the "http://.*" resources you can disable OBJECT tag filtering for a specific resource (i.e "http://foobar.your.domain/.*")
As for the registering of the dll file, I am not sure what you mean, can you please clarify? You dont have to do anything else besides allowing the proxy to retrieve the activex object beeing referenced by the OBJECT tag.

• How to change metadata database after OIM/OAM install?

Hi everyone
We need to change the metadata/schema database for our OIM/OAM installation.
What I plan to do is:
1. Create the new db
2. Run the RCU utility for both OID and OAM.
3. Change the connection pool data source in the OAM Weblogic console.
Is there anything else I need to do?
I know there was a connection to the database done when I created the Domain from the OID home (using config.sh). I've tried to run this config script again but can't find any way to amend the domain, nor can I see how to do it in any of the (many) consoles.
Any help greatly appreciates!
D

Hi ,
At the time of configuration you will get an option to set the database connection parameters there you can point to your required DB schema.

• urgent:Error installing 10g on windows

hallo.. pls can some one give me a lasting solutionto this problem i encountered while installing oracle 10g.
When ever the installation reaches 88%, it brings an error message which says " Thrown when the IP address of a host cannot be determined"... the system has an assigned IP address
.. Can someone give me a solution to this...

Hi,
Two scenario i will explain you for installation.
(1) if your pc is not connected to network or says its in star configuration and do not have DNS configured ( more than one pc may in same workgroup)than you need to add Microsoft LoopBack adapter(using add hardware wizard) which creates virual network environment and configured this adapter using static ip says 10.10.0.1 and DNS 127.0.0.1 and add this ip in host file(10.10.0.1).Make sure you change/add computer name(fully qualigied) manually using compuer name change screen e.g. xyz.abc.com ->xyz is your computer name and abc.com will become your domain name. add this entry in host file like
10.10.0.1 xyz.abc.com xyz
keep 127.0.0.1 as it is in hosts file. and you would be okay. I did same this for my installation.
N.B when we install windows its only provide computer name by default with out domain so that we need to configure.Make sure during installation your machine should not have dynamic IP.
(2) if it is connected to network than you need proper DNS name and specific IP for you machine from your DNS admin. add those entries in hosts file like i mentioned in option 1.you I am sure that also will work in your case.
oracle Installation needs static ip and fully qualified Domain name for installation.depend upon the situation you can follow either steps. I did installation on windows as well as sun solaris and working fine.
hope this can give some idea.

Maulik

• ***URGENT*** - Problem Installing Flash Builder 4 beta

Hi folks,
I'm really having a trouble with Installing FLASH BUILDER 4 beta on my WinXP SP2, 1.5 Ghz processor, 256 Mb RAM, 1.12 GB free on C drive, 1.26 GB free on H:drive, and 1 GB free on D drive.
But still i'm getting this prompt by Installer files I dowloaded from Adobe Labs for Flash Builder 4 beta.
Do i need more Hard Drive space ?
I have attached the jpeg image of the prompt.
Please Help me with this. I have a client with a project to build on Flash Builder 4 beta & only got 3 days to deliver.
thanks in advance.
regards
Ronny Depp

Firstly, are you serious ?
virtually no hard disk space(the install files need to extract with enough space to actually then install the software)
virtually no ram  256mb is barely enough for windows XP to start up. How are you going to run Flashbuilder
1.5ghz cpu - hmmm I don't think flashbuilder will run on a pda....
delivering a project in 3 days with beta software that you are obviously unfamiliar with...sounds almost like a mastercard ad
$100 for a cpu, $100 for some ram, $100 for some hard disk, look on the clients face when he saw the result- priceless...
hate to take the mickey, but I couldnt let something like this slide by it was just to easy
David.

Error: The requested URL was not found,
or cannot be served at this time.
Oracle Reports Server CGI - Unable to communicate with the Reports Server.
when i go to services and try to start service for report it gives me error
The oracle report server (rep60_<machine> service returned >service specific error 186
i have created a service throu start program isuite >net8easyconfig and tested that service come with success and then copied that tnsname to 806 net80 folder but in no vain any help Ms. Geeta Kapoor....
Yes, obviously you will get this "Error: The requested URL was not found, or cannot be served at this time" as the service is not ready to serve your request.
I never told you to create a TNS Name/service name ........ At the time of installation of the Application Server the Universal Installer creates a service name for Reports Server and stores it in the tnsnames.ora of the 9IAS ORACLE_HOME which is, for eg. c:\iasora\app\oracle\product\9ias\6iserver, but the actual $ORACLE_HOME is c:\iasora\app\oracle\product\9ias\ when you start the reports server it will look in the tnsnames.ora in c:\iasora\app\oracle\product\9ias\6iserver\network\admin folder, when it checks for the service name it will not find it and gives an error.
So for this purpose I asked you to copy the parameter in the Reports c:\iasora\app\oracle\product\9ias\6iserver\network\admin\tnsnames.ora and paste it in c:\iasora\app\oracle\product\9ias\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
Did you edit your $ORACLE_HOME/6iserver/conf/6iserver.conf and specified to process the reports by rwcgi60.
