Urgent please help - brocade zoning and changing WWN

Hi all, we have had an issue with one of the devices on our SAN network, this means chaning the device, the engineer said we will need to change the name of the World wide name on the brocade to match. My question is, what is the WWN for? and do you assign it to one port, or a number of ports,and does a device that wants to talk to another device need to have the same WWN?

Hi Carl,
I'm presuming that you are talking about having either a whole server replaced or you replaced a HBA (host bus adapter (fibre channel card in a server)).
A WWN (World Wide Number) is a unique identifier in the fibre channel space much like a MAC address. WWN's are used for security purposes generally to prevent/allow devices from seeing each other.
In that case, you will need to reconfigure any zones that were configured for that host/hba. A zone is a method of preventing devices from seeing each other on a fibre channel SAN (its kinda like an ACL).
You will most likely have to make some changes on any disk arrays because they generally would be configured to only allow certain hosts or HBA's to see certain LUN (Logical Unit (a slab of disk)). This is called LUN masking or sometimes called LUN security.

I recorded an event for someone and then took the tapes to Ritz camera and had them put them on a DVD for me. The company they use is called _Yes Video_, I downloaded the video to my Mac and it plays but the problem is I need to edit some things. So I went to Yes video website and looked in the forum and saw a thread about handbrake and how to convert, so you can import into I movie. Well I did this but it only converts part of the movie, the time on the video say 1:48 but when handbrake converts it then it only comes to 56 mins and not all of the film in in there.
I don't know if I have settings wrong on handbrake or what but I have to have this film edited and finished and turned into higher ups by tomorrow. I am so stressed out and just thought this would be a easy process.....guess I was wrong ha-ha

Hi there, I initially used handbrake for the self same reason of converting footage on DVD before realising that MPEG Streamclip produces far higher quality output from the DVD.
For info it's a free download from http://www.squared5.com/ though you will probably need the small ad-on from Apple $15 USD (I think?) and don't worry, it will tell you if it's required.
I've had astonishingly good results from using MPEG Streamclip - it's a shame I'm not working on commission or else I could give up my day job!
The settings I use in MPEG Streamclip to create the video footage as a .mov file use the options shown below:
FILE > Export to Quicktime
Compression > Apple DV - PAL
Quality > 100%
Frame size > 640 x 480 - Note: I used this for YouTube - you may want to set the resolution at 720 x 576 or higher for your own purposes.

Can anyone tell me some idea in the below mentioned details.
Iam creating a Function for Encrypting and Decrypting Data Values using
DBMS_OBFUSCATION_TOOLKIT with UTL_RAW.CAST_TO_RAW by using
Key Value as normal.
But the problem, is it possible to have the key value more than 8.
Its showing me error when i give the key value less than 8 or more than 8.
Can u tell me why it happens, is that the limit of the key value or is any other way to do that.

If the input data or key given to the DES3DECRYPT procedure is empty, then the procedure raises the error ORA-28231 "Invalid input to Obfuscation toolkit."
If the input data given to the DES3DECRYPT procedure is not a multiple of 8 bytes, the procedure raises the error ORA-28232 "Invalid input size for Obfuscation toolkit." ORA-28233 is NOT applicable for the DES3DECRYPT function.
If the key length is missing or is less than 8 bytes, then the procedure raises the error ORA-28234 "Key length too short." Note that if larger keys are used, extra bytes are ignored. So a 9-byte key will not generate an exception.

Is your form running inside the browser window (with SeparateFrame=False)? If the browser is maximized, and your form is maximized, yet you cannot see the entire screen, you can run with SeparateFrame=True. You can do that on the browser line.

Date format Problem in OAF R12 Urgent Please help!!!

We have acustom application in OAF which was developed in 11i. Now we migrated the same to R12.
In this there are two date fileds getting dispayed on the page and the query for the same is
SELECT TO_CHAR (SYSDATE, 'dd-mm-yyyy') AS CURRENT_DATE, UPPER (TO_CHAR (SYSDATE - 10, 'mon-yy')) AS g_period, UPPER (TO_CHAR (SYSDATE + 5, 'mon-yy')) AS gnext_period, TO_CHAR (sysdate,'dd-mon-yyyy') as today_date, TO_CHAR (sysdate - 1,'dd-mon-yyyy') as yesterday_date FROM DUAL
In 11i version the output is dispaying correctly but in R12 the current date is dispayed as
Start Date 04-Nov-5242
End Date 04-Nov-5241
As per logic it should be
Start Date 09-Feb-2012
End Date 10-Feb-2012
Please help..Urgent issue.

Here are the answers to your problems :
1. Once u restart , the oracle services and the database is not mounting automatically.That is because, when you install the Oracle Oracle8i Standard Edition Release (8.1.7), the two key services namely
OracleOraHome81TNSListner and
OracleService<your SID name>
are configured as manual start ( check the NT --> start>setting>control panel>services. )
For the database to start automatically the next time you start your machine, these two services will have to be put into "Automatic Start" mode.
< for this double click on the respective service, select the "Automatic" radio button and click on ok>.
Now when you restart the machine, your database will be automatically mounted.
2. this as explained above is a corollory to the above problem. you can start or stop your database on NT using the "Services" window....

Hi All,
I have installed Oracle Oracle8i Standard Edition Release (8.1.7) from technet site.
I have installed it on windows NT 4.0 .
Installation is fine.
I can access or get into SQL prompt .
I have created a database also.
1st problem
My problem is once I restart the Machine and try to access SQL plus .it gives me an error
ORA-01034: Oracle not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist.
2nd problem
I dont know how to start and stop the database , as there is nothing to do that in the start menu of Oracle .
How do i do this .
This is very urgent please help.

PLEASE Help! - Bridge and Premiere CC- "the operation could not be completed" and export error - MAC

Dear Adobe Community,
I got my first imac a few days ago, and i decided to install Adobe CC.
When i want to run Adobe Bridge, says "the operation could not be completed", the same happens with Adobe After Effects.
And I also have a problem with Premiere, when i want to export a project says that premiere must close.
This is the try version, is this a problem of Adobe or Apple? i'm very worried

Confirma que se trata de una cuestión de permisos.
Por cierto te aconsejos actualices la 9.1 a 9.2, posiblemente se habría arreglado así también.
Bueno los pasos son:
2. Select Go from the Finder Menu.
3. Select Computer.
4. Select Macintosh HD.
5. Select Users.
6. Select your user profile.
7. Right click on user profile. Select Get Info.
8. Go to bottom and unlock with admin password to make changes.
9. Make sure your user profile has Read and Write privileges by selecting from dropdown menu.
10. Go down to wheel at very bottom and select Apply to enclosed items. This should allow Adobe Bridge to run properly.

Playlists only exist as part of the larger iTunes library listing so if you are not seeing it there it doesn't exist anywhere else. I know with my older version of iTunes it is very easy to accidentally delete a playlist. With newer versions it may be possible to recover it with the undo feature in the menu but this likely will only work immediately after the deletion.

Integration options for COPS(Customer Organisation Profiling System) ) is a proprietary CRM system holding contact, billing and other profile information as the authoritative source on customers;
I need complete solution.Please help me its very very urgent.

As mentioned in your Subject, if it is integration between OIM and Siebel CRM, we have an OOTB connector available for it. Even if your application is similar to Siebel CRM, you can refer the OOTB Siebel connector and do some reverse engineering on it to make a similar one..
Hope it helps.. otherwise .. all the best and go ahead with writing a new connector and share your exp with the other forum members.
