Urgent!!!printing field on several pages...

Hi!
I have a report with a long field, my first page
includes several fields and then the long field ...
the long field is printed on several pages, but from the 2ime page although the vertical elasticity of the long field is extend, it doesn't it print on the top of the page!!!!!
what can I set for that ???

You need to use a collapsable anchor so that the long field will replace the fields that do not display on the subsequent pages.

We finally found the right? combination to work around our problem.....By using Firefox as a browser, we went to the photos that were over 29kb's and even though they refused to fully load...when we reloaded the page, they finished loading....still not perfect but at least we were able to drag them to our desktop and insert them in an album....We then switched back to Safari using the same ISP and couldn't get them to load...So, it appears to be a problem with our Safari....Obviously, this is the wrong Discussion to get help with that.

How to print a Vbox container with several pages

I need to print a Vbox container that contains severval pages
of content with .5 inch margins and a footer with the page number.
The content is created from htmlText coming from several reccords
in a MySQL table. I have been able to print the content using
FlexPrintJob across multiple pages, but the print fills the entire
page with no margins and the footer only on the last page. How can
I best do this?

I had a similar issue, here are some tips:
Check Flex's example for printing a PrintDataGrid in mulitple
pages (

or in the Printing chapter of the Flex Developer's Guide), that
will give you an idea of how to handle the footer and the header.
Now about the margins you will have to do it manually, i
can't think of any other solution for that.

Preview : error while printing several pages per sheet

I have a pdf file from which I would like to get a pdf with several pages per sheet. I cannot do that using acrobat through printing into a pdf file because it tells me to save it first ! So, as I did before upgrading my OS from SL to Lion, I tried to do it with Preview. The problem is that I get the following message "Error while printing" and no more information.
- I tried with an other pdf file and I got the same problem.
- Printing one page per sheet is OK, either into a pdf file or to an actual printer.
- Printing several pages per sheet from Acrobat to a printer is working fine.
- I asked to a colleague who is still using SL to do the same procedure with my file and it worked fine.
My conclusion is that there is something fishy with Preview under Lion.
Does anyone get into the same trouble than me ? Is there a solution even an alternative one ?

In the printing configuration window, I selected Layout and then 2 pages per sheet, save in Pdf, select a directory and name then save. At the end of the process, I got the printing error message. Looking at the /var/log/system.log, I got an error message concerning PMSessionEndDocumentNoDialog() returning 1282.
I am using past because I do not have the problem anymore. My MBP is a bit funny since the Lion upgrade. It looks like windows : from time to time, I get the black screen telling me that I should press the switch on button (like the famous blue screen).
I am suspecting that XQuartz (last update) is messing-up somehow my laptop (system crashes happened when it was launched or even when it was starting).

Wonder if anyone can help here?
When I want to print any email from Mail, for some odd reason the email gets spread out over several pages or more depending on the size of the email. The text is printed in one vertical line consisting of one letter per line, like this:

I have to copy and paste each email into text edit and print from there.
If anyone can help, that would be great.

I have the same problem with the text in Mail printing very narrow like what you described. Did you ever get a resolution to the problem?

for a couple months now anytime I print something from my mail it prints very small and all to the left hand side of the paper and prints several pages, if I open and read from Internet Explorer it prints just fine? Now I am having problems with my facebook page also????

Control printing with ALTERNATIVE in several pages

Hello all,
I'm currently working on generating a PDF where each page needs to be conditional (ie user can print 1st & 2nd page, or 1st, 2nd & 3rd, or 1st & 3rd). Altogether there are about 20 pages.
The use of alternative + command with next page works great for the determining the print of the 2nd page, but I can't seem to get it to work the same for the printing of the 3rd page, etc. I did notice that in order for the contents of the 2nd page to print, they HAVE to be placed in a secondary window, but I can't put the next page commands in a secondary window. What I've tried is to have the secondary window first (with all the page content), then a main window (with alternatives & commands), but this doesn't seem to work. (Also, listing main widow then secondary doesn't work.)
When I add breakpoints, it seems as though the main window is never called. (I can see the breakpoints in the F01 include, but they are never called.)
Any ideas?

- alternative 1 -> TRUE -> go to page 2
- alternative 1 -> FALSE

OK, here's the technique I used to make this work.
I pass a table with pages to be printed (PAGETAB). In the main window, I loop thru PAGETAB and use it's value to use the layout for that particular page (grouped into a folder, with conditions). At the end of the main window, I check to see if this the last page to be printed, else I use Command to force a page break (otherwise, 2 forms may print on the same page).
Here's a sample of the code:
Page
Main window
- program lines -> get total # lines in PAGETAB into V_TOTAL
- loop @ PAGETAB
-- program lines -> add 1 to V_LOOP
   -- folder 1 -> condition -> PAGETAB = "PAGE1"
    --- page 1 layout stuff
   --- alternative - if V_LOOP < V_TOTAL
TRUE
command -> go to next page -> Page
   -- folder 2 -> condition -> PAGETAB = "PAGE2"
     --- page 2 layout stuff
     --- alternative - if V_LOOP < V_TOTAL

How to print the all content of JTextArea to several pages

Hi there, my application have a JTextArea and user can type text in. When the jbPrint button is pressed, the all content of JTextArea should be printed to papers. But now my application can only print out the first page even the content of JTextArea is 3-page length, does anyone can give me some clue or example? Thanks in advance.!! Really hurry!!

Use freely downloadable smart jprint classes from http://www.activetree.com. This package also allows you to print contents of any kind of JTextComponent such as JTextField, JTextArea, JEditorPane, and JTextPane.
Print the swing components with or without showing in the UI. Line breaking is done automatically for you and prints in multiple pages.
JTable printing is specially interesting.

Printing several page ranges

I have been trying to figure this out for days. I have a set of forms with an attached instruction sheet. Within the instructions i would like to put a button to print say forms on pages 2-4. Then another button to print forms on page 5-8. Is that possible?

The print command has parameters that will allow you to enter a start and end page. Have a look at the help - search for print and you will see th ecommand with all of the parms defined.

How to: Print table on first page, use second page (back) for text only

Hi, I am looking for a clear document on how to use pagination and the Odd and Even pages.
We need to print a table over several pages, but only on Odd pages.
On the back of each page we need to print "Terms and Conditions". Is that possible? Can it be done without scripting
We are on ADOBE version 8.1
In the file properties, double sided is switched on, and version set to 8.1 and higher.
I created two Master pages, a FrontPage with ContentArea1and a BackPage with ContentArea2.
FrontPage is used for uneven pages, BackPage is used for the even pages. The masterpages are printed correctly (alternating properly).
Two pages were created for the content area's:
ITEMS: contains item data (table with header and footer). Place is "On Odd Page". After "Goto page BackPage". And if the table needs to be paginated it goes to BackPage with overflow leader "Conditions".
CONDITIONS: contains a textfield (Terms and Conditions). Place is "On Even Page". After "Goto page FrontPage". No overflow.
What should happen is that on the front pages the item table is printed. If there are too many lines it should overflow to page number 3 then 5 etc. All the even pages should display the text.
What actually happens is that the item table also gets printed in the content area for the Condition text...
Also the "Conditions" are not printed on the last back page. But only once before it...

Fixed it... After a lot of creating, deleting, playing around with pagination and the inevitable cursing...
I have created 5 pages:
1. FirstPage
     - Odd/Even: Odd (Front) Pages
     - Placement: First page (In page set)
2. FrontPage (For Odd pages)
     - Odd/Even: Odd/Front Pages
     - Placement: Rest of Pages
3. BackPage (For Even pages)
     - Odd/Even: Even (Back) Pages
     - Placement: Rest of Pages
4. LastPage
     - Odd/Even: No Odd/Even Restrictions
     - Placement: Last page (In page set)
5. DummyPage
     - Odd/Even: Blank pages
The 'Terms and conditions' are located on the BackPage and LastPage (as a text).
The table that is printed is (of course) located on a normal page (flowed subform).
Pagination tab: Placement = Following previous, and After = "Continue filling parent". No overflow... Basically, it's all default.
The table lines will now start on the first page and if there are more lines than can be printed on this page, it will continue in the next content area. That will be on the FrontPage.
The trick is that each master page must have a content area (mandatory). Except for Blank pages, but these cannot be used... Blank pages would only be used once, after the first page.
What I discovered is that you can drag a content area away from the Master page and attach it to a different master page.
Logically, if there is no content area on a page, then data cannot be printed there. So, I created a Dummypage. On this page I dumped the content areas from the LastPage and the BackPage. As a result, content cannot be printed anymore on the back of pages. Only the standard text (a text field) is printed there. When the data from the table is overflowing, it will automatically overflow from the FirstPage to the next content area. Which is located on the FrontPages only.
The DummyPage is NOT used anywhere.
The result is that the records can only be printed on the content areas that exist on the First and Front pages. The back pages are now skipped.
Duplex printing is now working correctly, and the text is printed on the back of all the pages.

Need to display a field for every page

Hi All.
I am trying to display a field <?job_no?> for every page of that job.
I mean if I select job no from 1 to 10. for Job number 1 the data can be printed in one page or several pages.
But i need to show this Job number( which we show with BARCODE font) in every page of that job.
This job is under G_JOB group. In general I used like below

<?job_no?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?end for-each?>
This is getting printed in first page only. If I put it in header, of RTF file, it is ok if I selected only one job number. But if I select for n number of jobs it is not geting displayed.

Print total in last page,

Hello Everyone
In PLD i have a requirement whereby if the layout goes into more than a page says 2 pages,then the total should display "Continued in next page" in the 1st page and in the last page(in our case 2nd page) total should print the document total in the same area. How can this be done? How to achieve this if...then...else statement in PLD
if CurrentPage()!=TotalPages()
then "Continued in Next page"
else Doctotal

Dear Raghu,
If you would like to print certain fields on the last page only,
'TotalPages()' cannot be used in formula, therefore, please follow the
Workaround below.
As a Workaround create the following field:
   Field_Formula
   General Tab
   Untick visible
   Left = 0 / Width = 0 / Top = 0 / Height = 0
   Content Tab
   Source Type: Formula
   SystemString(ContinueNextPageNotice) ==''
And enter the ID of this field as the "Link to" for the Fields you
like to print on the last page only.

Text overflown is not getting printed in the next page in ADOBE

Hi Experts,
I have a text field, where the users can enter the comments. In this text field if the user enters more than a page, a scroll bar appears in the print preview where the users can view the complete text what they have entered, but while printing the text which exceeds more than a page is not getting printed in the next page.
I have set the subform properties as "Flowed" and the check box "Allow Page Break within content" is also been enabled, but still the extra contents is not getting printed in the next page.
Please help me regarding this.
