---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<Hi,
I need your help in producing report output to OS file and dowloading it on to client's machine. This is 9iAS and Reports 6i patch 15 on Windows 2000 server.
Output as PDF is stored in ...\Server\Cache, but output as Delimited or DelimitedData is un-traceable on server.
I have created a folder with changed rights to "Everyone" and directing output to the folder. The report server displays a message that report output has been created succefully, but the folder remains empty.
Please help!
TIA!

Hi,
did you chaeck with customer support (metalink.oracle.com) in case you are hitting a bug ?

  • Where is fndload output file located?

    Hi,
FNDLOAD generates a log and out file. The log file is generated in the current directory but I could not find the out file in the current directory as well as the output directory.
Can somebody please tell where is this output file located?
    Thanks in advance.

So just curious where in the world is this output file? :)I believe Dinesh has already answered this question (Isn't LDT files are output files for download process?).
When you run FNDLOAD, it will create a log file and LDT file (as the output file). I thought the LDT file is not created at all, and this is what I was trying to troubleshoot! I should have paid attention to your line above in this thread (the directory does not have any files other than the LDT and LOG files) :)

  • Report output file permission

We are running Reports on Solaris and the report output
files are owned by oracle. Is there any way we can set
up the Report Server to allow read/write permission of
the output files to specific users?
    Thanks,
    Alex

Not sure if this is what you want but you can set the umask property in the shell that the reports server is running in. This should set the appropriate permissions for all files created by the Reports Server process.

  • Crystal Report 2008 - File Locations

I'm running out of space on the OS partition (C drive) and want to change the default location(s) in Crystal Report so when reports are created and run,  they use space on the D drive.

    Hello,
Not exactly clear what you want? Save your reports to your D drive would be my first guess.... If you are referring to the \temp folder then change your system Environment Variable from the default to d:\temp and also change the TMP to d:\Tmp.
You could even set your Swap file to d drive also. I suggest you contact your IT department or search Microsoft's site on how to optimize hard drive space when it's limited. PLEASE back up everything first before making changes to your swap file location, if you don't do it right you may not be able to start windows.
    Thank you

  • Scheduling a report to FILE LOCATION

    Hello All,
One of the user is trying to schedule a report to the below file location.
However the report only keeps running without any error message  and does not complete .
    dbg.ads.db.com\nyc-ibops-g\xxx_xxxxxxx_xxx_xx_and_x_xx_and_xxx\GSI_GRP\xxxxxxx.xxxxx\DBFC\Client Service\xxxx\ScheduledReports "
Could anyone please help ? Is there any guideline to be followed for a directory name ?
Alternatively , we were planning to inform the users to generate the report into User's inbox and then send it to the above shared drive  but when we tried it at our end we get an error "This operation is not supported".
Is this not supported by BO ?
    Thanks,

    Hi Philippe,

    Hello,
You can use a Servlet Filter to add the HTTP header "Content-Disposition"

  • Merging Crystal Report output files (rpt) into 1 rpt file.

    Hi All,
Is there any way to merge output/result of multiple CR files into one output file (like .rpt)?  Or any technique you can advise as a workaround?
I want to do this for archiving purposes and batch printing or .rpt files.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Alvin

At least one of the 3rd-party Report Managers listed at http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html allows you to automate the process of exporting multiple reports to pdf and merging the output into a single pdf file (with optional bookmarks).  You can also generate page numbers and a table of content for the merged pdf file.

  • Dynamic report output file name

    Hi,
I am generating a report using web interface by sending http string with required parameters.
Each time I run this report I am appending current date & time (mmddyyhhmm) string to the output file name.
Successfully I am able to get the outputs.
    For example:
If report runs at 9:30am then MyReportOutput_0205040930.html
If report runs at 12:45pm then MyReportOutput_0205041245.html
But, I am facing the problem when I schedule the report. I want to append the report run date & time to the output file for scheduled runs.
    Is it possible?
    Please advise.
    Thank you,
    Prasad

    hi,
for that you will have to use reports distribution. in the distribution XML file you can specify data fields from the report for various attributes, including the output file name.
you will have to create a column in your datamodel that creates this timestamp and then add it to your report name.
see the distribution/bursting example here on OTN for further information. click onthe getting started link on the reports homepage and then navigate to the INDEX. there you will find an overview of all the examples available.
    thanks,

  • BIP Report Output File

    Hi,
Can a BIP report be automatically launched (PDF) from Siebel, after being generated from a workflow using the GenerateBIPReport Method of  the “XMLP Driver Service” BS.  OOTB the BS  saves the report in the Siebel file system and the user needs to navigate to my BIP and open the report.

  • URGENT: report output to spool

    hi experts,
i have a program and i want it to have the output as a spool order. how will i do this? for example the output of the report is a list:
    MATERIAL   PLANT   DESCRIPTION
    XXXXXXXXX   XXXX        XXXXXXXXX
    XXXXXXXXX   XXXX        XXXXXXXXX
once the program is executed, it should automatically create a spool depending on the material and plant entered in the selection screen. the list must be shown when checking the spool request in SP01. how will i do this?
please help me. thank you very much...
    -march

You can try with NEW-PAGE PRINT ON to send it to spool.
    Try like :
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      DO 10 TIMES.
        WRITE: / SY-ABCDE.
      ENDDO.
      DATA: PRINT_PARAMETERS TYPE PRI_PARAMS,
            VALID_FLAG(1) TYPE C.
      CALL FUNCTION 'GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS'
        IMPORTING
          OUT_PARAMETERS       = PRINT_PARAMETERS
          VALID                = VALID_FLAG
        EXCEPTIONS
          INVALID_PRINT_PARAMS = 2
          OTHERS               = 4.
      NEW-PAGE PRINT ON PARAMETERS PRINT_PARAMETERS
                          NO DIALOG.
    * call the same write data perform again
      DO 10 TIMES.
        WRITE: SY-ABCDE.
      ENDDO.
      NEW-PAGE PRINT OFF.

  • Output file location for batch printing

    Hi all,
We have a current implementation of Oracle Documaker for our LOB. What we do is run a .BAT file that runs the GEN* brothers (gentnw32, gendaw32, and genptw32). This then uses the XML defined in the DATA segment of the fsisys INI file. This prints out multiple PDFs for us depending on the contents of the XML.
This workspace is a hand-me-down and works as is but with the new requirements, I need to direct the PDFs to a specific directory. Currently, it places them in the root folder/PRINT. This setup is not found on any line in the fsisys or fsiuser files. Is there a configuration I can make to have Documaker place it someplace else? Thanks!
We are using Documaker Studio Version 12.2.0.21451 Build Aug 8 2013. The workspace however was created with an older version (uses an MRL files rather than an ODBC connection)

Your question about scripting was as follows:
Can someone give me a brief explanation of what the lines: "SetGVM("PrtName001" ,file_name ,,"C",254)", "HaveGVM("PRTName001")", and "GVM("PRTName001")" do? I am confused since a DAL script named PDF_NAME is run when I execute GenData but it is not called in any line in the INI file (where is it called). It sets the GVM seen above but it does not reflect immediately when GV1 script and GV2 script are called in GenPrint. However, they are reflected when GV1 is run after POSTTRANSDAL for Batch1. Sorry about the confusing question. These three lines are found in separate DAL scripts.
First, anytime you want a basic explanation for most DAL functions, I would point you to the help. If you have the script open in the Triggers/Script manager in DMStudio and click on the function name, you should see the help panel reflect the function you click. You can also simply press F1 and find all the DAL help and browse it at your leisure.
GVM means Global Variable Member (or something like that). These are variables created and used during the server process - GenTrn, GenData, and GenPrint. Each program is responsible for creating the GVMs that it will used and only live within that program. The only way for GVMs to get "passed" to the next program is if these were written to a file that is subsequently loaded by the next program. For instance, the Gendata step creates the Batch (BCH) files mentioned in the other post. The content written to each recipient record in the BCH file is (typically) taken from GVMs. Then when GenPrint loads a particular batch record, those column values are again turned into GVMs. You may not have needed that lesson, but I thought it might be helpful in explaining the DAL rules you questioned.
HAVEGVM() is used to query whether a GVM actually exists. If it doesn't exist, then there is certainly no way you can get a value from it.
SETGVM() is used to 1) assign a value to an existing GVM; and 2) optionally create a new GVM if it does not already exist. In your case, the parameters to the SetGVM would appear to be allowing the variable creation identifying that it will hold character ("C") content with a max length of 254 bytes.
GVM() is a function that returns the value currently assigned to the named GVM.
So you see that your DAL script is capable of creating a GVM if it does not already exist. From what information you have, I don't know whether that is needed or not. It really depends upon your implementation.
Your PORT= statements define to run an associated script and that ultimately must be returning the actual starting name to use for that output. Assuming this is coming from GVM values, there's not enough information here to say where they are coming from. These could be taken from a column defined in your BCH files; or could be determine by some field value hidden (or otherwise contained) in your transaction data; or might be queried or created by some other scripting method.

  • Rename oracle EBS report output file

    Hi,
I want to ask something about rename oracle EBS report. Is it possible to rename it from pl/sql statement?
    example : o1234.out -> to oXXGL.out
    Thanks
    Adree

Not sure if this is what you want but you can set the umask property in the shell that the reports server is running in. This should set the appropriate permissions for all files created by the Reports Server process.

  • EText output file location

    Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to specify the location that an eText file gets created in?
When the concurrent request is run in Oracle Apps the .ETEXT file is created in the same directory as the .out file. Is it possible to change this?
I can't see any documented parameters for this in the user guide.
    Thanks
    Paul

    Hi Paul
Im pretty certain the conc manager cannot be configured to place specific requests into specific directories.
You could add some post processing step to execute a script to find the file and move it to a directory ... you could set up a perl/unix script to act as a virtual print destination for this etext request that would move the file for you.
