Urgent! Traveling abroad and Excite 10 won't charge!

I have an adapter and converter...everything else charges fine except for my tablet and I can't understand why. I'm in Iceland now and will be heading to England on Wednesday... but I'm dwindling at 33% charge. it's going to be a long flight home next week if I can't get this charging...
any ideas what the problem is or how to even to about troubleshooting? thanks.

Hi AppleHater (ps love the screen name). I don't think that is entirely true. An fyi, I have been using the Toshiba cord, just not the plug base. I figured since that end was USB it would be universal.
I had two plug bases with me. When I got back to the states I tried these again - one did not charge the tablet but the other did. I also tried a third (which I did not have with me) and that charges the tablet as well. So I think it's safe to assume that it is not necessary to use the Toshiba plug base. However, if the one plug base worked at home then shouldn't it have worked abroad with the appropriate adaptor? A moderator messaged me and said I needed to use am adaptor that also steps down the voltage.
It was very upsetting to find all of this while I was alreayd on my trip. Wold be great if there was a way to test everything prior to traveling.

I'm so sorry your having issues. Unfortunately there isn't an email for global support. The only way way to reach them while traveling is to call them at 908-559-4899.

No. Not without access to a computer running iTunes. You do want to use your own computer so that you can restore from your backup and sync your own content back from iTunes.

Obviously not charging in not normal.
But iOS 7 checks to make sure that the lighting connector is certified by Apple. All Apple Lightning connectors and most Lightning connectors from recognized third parties are certified. But some third parties shortcut the certification process and these cables may not work with your phone.
If you are not using the original Lightning connector or a connector from Apple try that first.

You can try drying it out internally by wrapping the unit in a paper towel and putting it in a bag with a dessicant safe for electronics such as silica gel pellets, or failing that in a bag of dry, uncooked rice, for a few days. It's very probable that it's been permanently damaged, but it's possible that if you dry it out, it may then work. If after a few days in the bag it still has problems, then you'll need to pay to get it exchanged (by Apple) or repaired (by a third-party repair service) or buy a new iPhone.

i bought a brand new MBP like 6 months ago and now it won't charge. I tried using a friends MBP charger of the same year as my computer but it still says not charging at the top right corner of the computer screen where the charging symbol is. This problem just happened out of nowhere because it was working the day before then the next day it just stopped working saying it is not charging. I tired doing all of the suggested techniques to fix it but not luck.

As you can see where it is labeled "AC Charger information" it states that its connected but there is no Wattage and says its not charging .
What is wrong with my mac? Is it serious and does Apple Care cover it?

"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help, you may have to take the computer to the Apple store to have the computer and battery checked out.

Traveling abroad and want to use skype on my mobil...

I will be traveling abroad to Costa Rica and Nicaragua and taking my mobile phone with me. I will be able to use my phone to connect to the internet whenever wi-fi is available. I will not be able to use my phone for regular calling. So, I want to know if I can make calls through skype using my phone as long as I am connected to the internet through wi-fi? My calls will be to regular landlines or mobiles, not to skype numbers. I will therefore add skype credit once I know that I will be able to call.

I can understand how this might happen but I think you posted in the wrong forum...if you're planning on using free wifi sites. Skype wi-fi is to pay for service in hotspots where wifi isn't free. See this link for an explanation:

In any case, yes, if you have wifi service, free or paid, Skype on your phone, and credits available, you can call landlines or mobiles with Skype. The rate for the calls will depend on the country you're callling. You can see the rates here:

Hello Venusdom! We can definitely look into this for you! Caller ID is a carrier specific feature, and may not be available in all areas when travelling abroad. Are you in the same location you were yesterday? Where are you travelling?

I have a 4th gen Shuffle and when I try to charge it, a red light turns on and the Shuffle won't charge. How do I fix this?

So I haven't used my Shuffle in months and I don't remember how much battery was left when I stopped using it. When I connect my ipod to my laptop, a red light glows and my computer, nor my laptop will recogonize the ipod. It won't charge either. I've left it connected to an outlet and my laptop for hours but the red light won't go away. Help, please!

If you connected it to both your computer's USB port and a USB power adapter on a wall outlet, I think you've ruled out a problem with the power source. Since you at least get the red light, the USB docking cable is probably OK.
So, if it's not the USB port or the docking cable, the cause is likely to be on the shuffle. It may be the battery or a problem on the logic board. If it was just the battery, I think it would still appear in iTunes on the computer (or at least be recognized by the system).
(If this shuffle is less than one year from purchase date, it is under warranty.)
