Urgent: WAS 6.4 for BW, ESS and R/3 Integration

Hello Everyone,
We are trying to Install EP6 SR1 with WAS 6.40 and Oracle as database. We have to integrate to BW, ESS and R/3 system. So I went ahead and installed WAS 6.40 JAVA statck and not ABAP + JAVA one. So my question is that, will just WAS 6.40 JAVA stack will be enough? This is just a Test box, just to demonstrate the upper authorities if we want go with portal or not. Depending on their reply we might in future go and reinstall in the development boxes.

To access BW, we added the BW server to the Technical Landscape and create the BW System on the System Landscape in the portal.
As I understand its the same with ESS and R/3 as well though i havent tried them.

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. iOS 6 can be loaded without problem on the 3GS. Not all features are supported however.
With respect to your reading people are having trouble, what did you expect to see on this technical support forum? People don't write in to state they have a trouble-free upgrade.

No, sorry not a chance. The device must be powered on and connected to a data network for Apple's find my iPhone to work.

External Facing portal design for the ESS and MSS

Hello Portal Gurus!!!
I need your suggestions regarding implementing external facing portal for the ESS implementation.
What does it take to implement the external facing portal and what are the pros and cons of going for this external facing portal over just exposing the Portal with ESS over the internet?

[Common 17-345] A valid license was not found for feature 'Implementation' and/or device 'xc7z045'.

Theimplementation feature and the whole flow was working smoothly until recently wehtn the error popped up. When I checked the license status it is still valid. I tried returning the license (with the hope to generate a fresh one), this is not going through as I see "Invalid option specified" message. I realized that the trusted storage itself was having problems. The issue that I was facing was very much similar to what is explained in the below discussion:

I followed the steps as in above and could see trusted storage itself that was having problems. And followed the steps in the above discussion and could successfully run installanchorservice.exe
This should have solved the issue if the trust was broken due to anchoring. This however, did not solve my issue. On further reading, I came across the below AR:

Based on this I could see that there are 3 reasons for Trust getting broken.
Binding (tampering the system parameters)
Anchoring
Windback
My issue is with Binding. The NIC card got disabled for some issue and I had to run diagnostics and fix it. I strongly suspect that due to this trust is broken due to Binding.
Attached the logs.txt from the the following commands:
xlicclientmgr -v "format=long"
xlicclientmgr -l
I could not find any material on the web to restore the trust of it is broken due to binding issue. Any pointers will be really appreciated.

Yes that repaired the broken license. Than you very much for this.
For the benifit of others:
It was confirmed that in my case the trust was broken due to Binding. For this, you need to provide the files that you find in the discussion above and Xilinx support will provide a xml file with instructions, that you need to follow to repair the license.

I lost information recently on page I was working on for my website and want to retrieve it. I have no clue as to why 90% of the page was suddenly deleted.

I have a website. I was working on a post (not published) called "notes". I had a lot of very important information (about 90% of what I was working on) suddenly get deleted. I have no clue as to why. I did not press "delete", cancel or anything else. I probably just pressed a space bar and suddenly it was gone. Hours and hours of work vanished. I contacted my site host squarespace and they said they don't have access to it and to contact you. Is the previous information in a cache somewhere possibly? I don't know much about any of this. I will provide you with any information I can to possibly assist me in retrieving this important information I've worked for days and days on.

I'm assuming you were working on this on squarespace's website editor? Unfortunately there are no cached files that store what is being worked on in a text field. It's possible that what happened is this: You accidentally selected the text, pressed Enter, and that deleted it. You can try pressing Ctrl+Z when you are on a page to undo those sorts of changes, but if you've already left the page there is nothing that can be done to recover that text.

Bridge CC just stopped working on my MAC. Was working perfectly for a while and I haven't done anything different that I know of. When I try to load a folder it says " building criteria" and never does load. Please help!

I had to send my laptop in to get something fixed and when i got it back, everything on my itunes was gone except for a song and a movie. is there a way to get back everything i lost so that when i sync my ipod i won't lose anything i already have?

Right PAAS/Middleware for SAP HCM and SAP Cloud Integration ?

In 2013, SAP has lot of Focus on SAP Cloud and SAP HCM on premises integration elements following the hybrid model, I will like to know the direction from SAP on integration Middleware/PAAS which will reap great returns in terms of TCO to customers over next 4-5 years basis the SAP Integration Road map esp the exposing standard connectors ?
Please do keep in mind the the Middleware/PAAS should be able to support easy integration with Third Party Vendors like ADP/Hewitt etc

The SFAPI and OData API are exposed for any web service integration, including Dell Boomi AtomSphere. The OData API can handle delta changes.
HCI is an evolving platform and offers similar functionality to Boomi in terms of building integrations with a drag-and-drop interface, etc. There is a SuccessFactors connector provided for HCI and the Talent Hybrid integration content is available on HCI as well as PI. The Employee Central integration content currently available on Boomi should be available on HCI hopefully by the end of the year. The Talent Hybrid high-level roadmap can be found here:

Boomi is included in the Employee Central subscription, but is very expensive to license for other use cases (i.e. Talent Hybrid scenarios). HCI costs 7.5% of the SuccessFactors subscription. Since updating to iOS 5, my bluetooth and signal have been destroyed. Before the update, the phone worked perfectly, connecting to my bluetooth in car for both calls and music. Reception was also perfect. Now, my bluetooth doesnt work, and I cant be heard

Since I updated my iphone 4 software from 4.3.3/4.3.5 - bought brand new only 2 weeks before the update came out - to iOS 5, my bluetooth no longer works in me ford fiesta and when I ring people, they literally can not hear a word I say. It has nothing to do with poor signal areas as they are the same areas I was in with the same phone before the software update! i have even sent for a replacement phone and received a reconditioned phone (after paying excess charge - JOKE!) and the same problem occured when I updated again. I cannot believe there is no downgrade as this iOS 5 is a shambles and to be honest, I see very little difference in terms of apps and photos so i have no idea why apple are recommending this upgrade!
Is there anything I can do to improve the fact that nobody can hear me on the phone when I speak?!! Or are apple going to insist I keep a phone that is of no use to me if I can't actually use it as a PHONE!

Thanks! I forgot to add, I have debonded and rebonded the bluetooth in car and phone and have carried out 3 restores on the phone in my ITunes. All to no avail. I have also jsut spent £40 on a lead from Ford that has made no difference too! I went to them today to request a software upgrade on my car as I though perhaps the lack of connectivity in the car was down to the car being behind the iOS5 software but was informed there was no need for an upgrade and this problem is purely an apple problem! Is there any way around the downgrade? Or are apple gong to resolve this problem at all??

        This is suresh calling for clarifications and doubts in HCM...   see i'm new to portal, but my requirement is to configure ESS and MSS for HCM... i dont know actually wat needs to be done and the way of approach... these are the doubts,
1. Basic steps for Portal Configuration
2. I need some docs for configuring ESS and MSS...
3.   a) After configuring ESS and MSS, wat needs to be done.. suppose my client is asking for Leave Request in ESS, whether    i need to create that application in webdynpro java or webdynpro abap in backend and i've to call that application in portal throgh iview...
     b) or by doing the configuration of ESS, by default i will get all the aplications(e,g, Leave Request, Travel Managemetn ....) from that package and it will display in iview...

Ok. Here are the answers:
1. Basic steps for Portal Configuration
   > Download ESS/MSS Business Package, it has two parts Business Package for ERP 2005 (Contains iviews, Roles etc) and XSS 5.0 or 6.0 depending upon the version of the ECC.
> Make sure that you have SAP_HR and EA_HR component installed on your ECC box.
> Also make sure that there is no compatibility mismatch between version of SAP_HR, EA_HR and XSS.
> Configure the JCo Destinations, create required system definition and establish SSO between ECC and Portal.
> Assign the role to the users
> After doing these steps you can see the SAP provided iviews etc working PROVIDED configuration on HR side are already done. (This is just to get initial configuration work)
