URGENT - Web settings for 6270?

Hi All,
I am trying to enter web settings manually because my provivder cannot send setup sms on my mobile.
I did the following:
Settings>>Configuration>>Personal Config. Settings>>options>> Add New Web
Account Name: My Web
Home Page: nokia.com
Use preference access pt.: No
Proxy: Enabled
Proxy Address: my provider address
Proxy Port: my provider port number
Data Bearer: Packet data
packet access point: my provider access point name
authorization type: normal
When I am trying to connect the browser it expires and terminate application, any suggestions.
Thanks
Andreas

If your particular phone model isn't yet supported, you could try just ordering the settings from your operator for, e.g., a 6230i (or some other comparable model that they support) and see if that's enough (probably is).

  • This Verizon web settings for home phone is totally screwed up

I attempt to review/update my calling features.
From the main page (http://www22.verizon.com/ForYourHome/MyAccount/Protected/Overview/MyOverview.aspx), I do 'My Services' -> 'Home Phone' -> 'Home Phone Overview'. Then I click on 'Update Calling Features', and it comes up with
===== We are looking up your account information and checking for available services. This will only take a moment. =====
Then it shows some type of {please keep your posts courteous} order review. The web URL is https://www22.verizon.com/FORYOURHOME/GOFLOW/MyVerizonNew/ADDCHANGESERVICES.ASPX.
How screwed up is that? All I want to do is to review my calling features. This is totally screwed!

An update: This morning, I got a call from from Verizon support saying the problem had been fixed. I tried -- it wasn't fixed. So I gave tech support a call, I allowed them to remotely drive my PC so they could see for themselves that I still had the problem. After that, the tech support guy gave me a work-around for the problem; a new URL to bypass the verizon home page and go directly to the calling features settings. So, at least now, I can view/adjust the settings for my home phone. The tech support guy was helpful and at least now, I have a work around.

  • *** Best web settings for an HDV clip online

Okay, I usually export mpeg-4 but the settings are all different so I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can help me with!
Dimmensions of the clip. The footage was shot on a Sony Z1U in HDV. Normally with my 4:3 footage I select a frame size of 320x240. For HDV I was thinking if I took 1440x1080 and then divided it by 4 that it would look ok (giving me a size of 360x270. I exported it and it was too thin from top to bottom and too long and skinny from left to right.
Sound. These are all new to me so I'm not sure what to select in order to give the best quality sound but not the largest file size.
I need to publish the clip in as best quality as possible and I'm not overly concerned with file size, although I'd like to keep it to around 60 megs at the most if possible.
Can someone suggest settings that would help me achieve this goal?
    Thanks in advance!

Just took a look in Compressor and I have a few more questions about settings.
I'm assuming I should choose 1 of the 4 selections for "web download" but I'm not sure which one. My main need is high-quality footage that is accessible easily by either Mac or PC users. Do I choose web download QT 6 or 7? After choosing this, which settings are best to choose? Do I choose LAN or KBPS settings? I'm lost here.

  • (urgent) web cache for forms 10g

    Hi all,
We have application running on oracle 10g Aps resently migrated and we got couple of freequently used forms by default my webcache is on but i dont know how can i specifialy say that thease forms to be cached like if i see my webcache page i could see some of the gifs had cached but no specific forms how can i do this.
I shall be highly be obliged if one can clear my queries in the forum may wish to add to 2cents to my infinetly minimal knowledge of webcache.

Not really true. You could setup a rule to cache the JAR files for Forms. Additionally, you could cache the GIF files accessed by the applet, though it would be better to move those image files into a JAR file. Why?...
If you use a static HTML file to call your forms, that would be cached by default.
Because the client JVM caches the files. You can view this in the Java Console of JInitiator or your Java Plug-in. Additionally, you can see when the image files are served from the JAR files by looking in the Java Console as well. Change to level 5 trace in the Java Console window and look for GIF files with a path that includes http://server/forms/jave/filename.jar!/filename.gif. Notice the ! symbol. That shows a client JAR cache hit for that GIF file. Served locally, doesn't even make it to Web Cache!
The rest of the communication really isn't cacheable. Communication goes from the Applet (Client JVM) through Web Cache to the HTTP Server to the OC4J_BI_Forms container (OC4J JVM) that runs the Forms listener servlet which talks directly with the Forms Server runtime process running as a Unix process (C, not Java).
So, the only communication that goes between the applet and the Appliction Server is just the messages between the applet and Forms Server process telling the applet how to refresh the display on the client's applet screen and telling the Forms Server process what to do with the data and code being run. This communication is optimized by using message diffs, so it is relatively efficient. But an application not optimized for the web might use chatty functionality that slows things down a bit.
Anyway, xhomet is essentially right in that Web Cache doesn't do much of any significance besides load balancing. Caching JAR files might make sense for you though if you have a lot of users all getting this JAR or an updated JAR at the same time.
    Hopefully you foundthis interesting.

  • Save for web settings not holding (Mac)

I am trying out PE 9. When I use Save for the Web the settings are always at JPEG/Low. I use JPEG/High, but I cannot get PE to save the settings for other files. I tried deleting all Adobe preferences files, including the one for Save for Web, but it had no effect. Any suggestions?

Thanks Garry. I tried both methods without success. It works only for the same file, but not new files. I had looked for solutions to this issue in this forum and tried them all. If this is indeed a bug, it's appeared in earlier versions of PE. What I want to do is be able to set the Save for the Web settings for each new file I open in PE, just like I can do under Preferences for other elements. Any other suggestions?

    Hello All...
Back after a brief absence, things look a little bit different.
I'm trying to take a 16 minute mini dv video and compress it for use on the web. I'm interested in any suggestions you may have on settings for the video and audio tracks. I've tried using Sorenson 3 (15 frames, key frames set to automatic, 320 x 240) for video and IMA 4:1 (mono) for audio. The resulting video looked great but the file size came in at about 255 Mb.
    Thanks!

Thank you for the replies.  Everyone was correct about the jack, interface, and phasing problems.  I have been unplugging my motu audio interface and then using headphones at work.  I have not changed any detailed audio output settings in logic.  When I read that the jack might be a problem I tried switching headphones.  This actually helped.  I am using dre-beats headphones and they seem to be having issues with the mac/jack-(the phasing/panning problems.  I can use these headphones with other devices but not the mac.  I have to use ipod ear buds and the phasing seems fixed.  Hopefully this information is helpful to someone else.
If anyone knows how to correct this issue please let me know its difficult to know what my final mixes are going to sound like and I have had to keep bouncing everything into i-tunes- sync to ipod and then listen in my car radio.

The compression is reducing the number of pixels being shown in order to maintain the bitrate. So rapid motion, which requires nearly all of the pixels to be redrawn, causes things to stutter.
Compression is really, really hard to do. Really.

  • Best export settings for video for web

Can anyone give me some advice on the best export settings for a short video that is to be viewed on the web? I have some short, say 2 minute videos that need to be placed on a website and need a reasonable file size. What would the best Format and Preset options be in Premiere? Would it be helpful to utilize After Effects to reduce file size? Thank you in advance to anyone who has some advice!!

For now, it would be on my own website or a clients website. But there may
be another possibility, I have a client that already has some videos
available for viewing on their website, looks like they are YouTube videos
that play on their site, and there is an option to "Watch on YouTube". So I
guess I would love some recommended export settings for a straightforward
video clip on my website, and if I need to explore the YouTube preset in
Premiere, let me know. Thank you, I really appreciate your answers and
    help!!

  • CS4 - Save for Web settings

I'd be grateful for confirmation that I am using the correct Save for Web settings to achieve the colour effect I want.
I am using an sRGB workflow as my output is for the web. I am using a NEC 2690 LCD display which is wide colour gamut but I am using in its factory set sRGB (and non-calibratable) mode. I have calibrated the NEC using my Eye One display and this shows as the default monitor profile in the vga card's driver but what effect it is actually having I am not sure (OS is Vista 32bit). My CS4 colour management settings are based round the sRGB Working Space. Normally I convert to sRGB all images before saving them in Save for Web.
I am trying to ensure that the colours I see in images at the Save for Web stage preview are what I will see on the web and in other non colour managed environments. Specifically, I'd be grateful to know if the following settings seem right for what I am trying to achieve:
    Preset: JPEG High
    Quality: High
Optimize selected (but not Progressive or Embed Colour Profile)
    Convert to sRGB selected
    Preview: Use Document Profile
In the past (pre-CS4) I've had problems with images outside of CS3 looking over colour saturated and I want to avoid this now.
Thanks for any help with this.

That's good, though you you should still try to get the image filesize as small as possible without losing important image details. Many images can support a lower quality JPG setting so you should see how low you can go before you visually see a problem. No sense delivering a higher quality JPG if it's not needed. Higher quality = larger file sizes = longer download time for the webpage.
    > Optimize selected (but not Progressive or Embed Colour Profile)
I prefer 'Progressive' as that loads an image in 3 stages (low->med->fullRez) and looks better on webpages instead of having images load top-to-bottom like a window shade.
    > Convert to sRGB selected
Doesn't hurt to leave it on. Though you said you already converted them before saving for web.
    > Preview: Use Document Profile
I think that "Windows (No Color Management)" will display a better preview of what to expect when the image is displayed on a Windows computer (95% of your visitors) using a web browser that's not color managed (ie: 99% of the windows web browsers - are there any?).
    > In the past (pre-CS4) I've had problems with images outside of CS3 looking over colour saturated and I want to avoid this now.
The previous step should help with this in that you'll at least see what visitors using a decently calibrated monitor will see. But since there really is no standard that most of the world adheres to, you can only do your best to get things right at your end. You cannot control how the rest of the world adjusts or miss-adjusts their equipment.

  • Deleted default Photoshop CS5 Save for Web settings, but they return after a restart

How do I permanently delete the default Save for Web settings that come with Photoshop CS5? (Default Settings.iros, Background Image.iros, etc)
In CS4 you deleted them once, and they were gone. In CS5, if you delete them, they are recreated when you restart PS. Same goes for any Optimized Settings (GIF 32 Dithered.irs, JPEG Low.irs, etc), they simply can't be permanently removed, and I'm left scrolling through a long menu of things I'll never use.
I have no use for XHTML.iros, GIF 32 Dithered.irs, or any of these settings, just like I have no use for most of the stock presets in PS, why can't I customize these presets like I can customize everything else?

    BlowPurp wrote:

Yes, they are, how do I stop that?
I don't know that you can.
Ok, we have a way to save them, but not delete them, so what if I accidentally Save one I don't want? Or what if I Save one now, but later don't want it anymore. We're supposed to infer Adobe didn't intend us to ever Delete custom settings we Saved ourselves?!
I suppose there's an implication that you'll be given the defaults by Photoshop, but that anything you create yourself can be deleted by yourself.  I admit it's not a very clear interface.  For what it's worth, my own applications provide an explicit "Delete" capability, have defaults that don't manifest as actual files (and are always at the top of the list), and the app doesn't allow you to even try to delete the application-provided settings (Delete is grayed-out).  I thought the whole settings thing through and tried to make sure it was more clear than parts of the Photoshop interface:
    > Have you found some documentation from Adobe that states that you can effectively customize your installation by deleting these files?
    Yes, in the FAQ: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
Well, from what I can see that thread was written by someone other than an Adobe Employee, and it doesn't mention .iros files at all.
And what it seems to say is that you can reset your preferences to defaults (i.e., invoke auto-generation of a new prefs file) by deleting the old prefs file, which is what's happening for you.

  • Settings for web straeming

I need to get good settings for web streaming, and for seeking to work with mp4-files.
If I use Handbrake to encode video (H.264 MP4) and check the box "Web optimized" the seeking works, but if I use Meda Encoder settings it does not. ME has no "web optimized" as far as I can see - is it another setting in PP CC or ME CC I should use to get the same result? (In Handbrake the "web optimize"
places the container header at the start of the file, optimizing it for streaming across the web (fast-start))
Thanks in advance for any suiggestion!

From the CS5 user guide PDF
    Stream for best performance
You can stream FLV and F4V files to eliminate download time. FLV and F4V files also have deep interactivity and navigation capabilities when they are streamed. Streaming FLV and F4V files allow you to monitor quality of service. You can stream FLV and F4V files with the Flash Media Server. Alternatively, you can use a hosted service from one of the FLV/F4V Streaming Service partners available through the Adobe website. For more information, see "Delivering Flash Video: Understanding the Difference Between Progressive Download and Streaming Video" on the Flash Developer Center website.

  • Best "Publish Settings" for wmv web page video are ??

What are the bset settings for publishing a WMV video for playback on a web page?
I used the custom setup and...
    320 x 240
    15 frames per second
Are these the right numberes for a good quality video on the net... without making the file to big?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Time for the proverbial spanner in the works.
If you are in NTSC lands, and your source footage is HD at 24fps, you could always try encoding to the 24p MPEG-2-DVD setting.
This will put the progressive scan footage on the DVD at 24p, without degrading it to interlaced - and on an upscaling player you will get output at 24p.
If the disc is played on a non upscaling system, the player will automatically pull to 29.97, so you lose nothing and gain a lot.
The Adobe Media Encoder does a fine job of the 24p for DVD encoding as well - just remember to render out as elementary streams (.m2v and .WAV) - do not use the Dolby Digital encoder at this point (unless you need the SurCode 5.1 of course) and use LPCM - let Encore handle this.

  • Best settings for web streaming

I made an 11 minute film in imovie. I want to put it on my website. I am told that loading it into Quicktime Pro, and then exporting it will give me lots of choices for settings, to optimize the quality and the speed for web viewing. A friend told me to use mp4 at 30 frame at 640 X 480 for acceptable quality. Youtube seems to agree with that. Unfortunately, The resultant quicktime export was a 74 mB file. That seems awfully large for the web. I also tried saving it directly from imovie as an "email", which doesn't allow any tweaking, and that version was 18 mB, and a bit small for web viewing.
This morning, I've looked through many posts here, but I can't find one place that gives clear opinions for settings for streaming video over the web. I realize there's a lot of choices, so opinions will differ. Nonethless, , but I'd really be happy to have just two or three choices, with all the Quicktime Pro settings spelled out for me. Can someone do that?
And lastly, what size — both file size and screen size — should I be using for this 11 minute web viewable film?

I have a similar problem with excessively large files resulting from use of the "export for web" function.
I have a range of self-contained quicktime movies averaging about 20MB in size. They are all encoded in MPEG4 or H264.
Exporting for "desktop" results in some files being over 75MB in size.
