Urgent: Web Templates BI

HI,
I had inserted a logo which is there in the MIME repository in the BI web Templates in development. And transported the same to acceptance system. When executing the reports in Acceptance, the LOGO is not appaering then.
I am not able to access the mIME repository in Acceptance. Can the reason being the LOGO not there in Acceptance MIME Rep?
Kindly suggest.

If your transport are correct than i think you should be able to see the logo unless there is some access issue.
Why dont you take access to MIME repository in Acceptance and than try it once.
I have never faced an issue in this, they show up in WAD quite right.
Let me know if you still cannot access, i will check removing my access once.

Web template transport - Urgent

We are unable to save a web template (after making changes)and getting the following errors.
" THE OBJECT CANNOT BE PROCESSED DUE TO A TRANSPORT PROBLEM"
When we click Ok, then the following message is appearing:
"COULD NOT SAVE TEMPLATE"
There is no any other error messages and we are unable to find the solution. Please help urgently.

hi,
welcome to SDN ...
you need to create a bex reqeust, rsa1->transport connection-> icon truck with 'bex', assign with package as the web template when you transport.
(it seems you have ever transported the web template).
all your changes may be gone since you need to close WAD and open/login again. to save the changes you have done,
in WAD go to tab 'html' something ('design') and ctrl + A (to copy all the line) html to notepad or somewhere.
when open again the web template, paste back the codes/html.

Web Template can not be found in WAD - Urgent please....

I have activated a Web Template from business content. I have also included the same in a role.
I need to make some changes in this. I can not find this in WAD. I can not find the role in WAD. When I search this in Metadata repository, I can see the web template but surprinsingly it doesn't show the underline query name and role..
can anyone please tell me the reason for this. This is urgent please.

1. Display the role in PFCG. Do you see the web template listed?
2. Is the role assigned to your id?
3. Did you try searching (by using the binoculars) for the web template in WAD open window?

URGENT: Not seeing the variable Pop-up for Button , on web template in WAD

Hi gurus,
In IP I have a standard plan function for 'Copy', which has a few variables defined on the funciton itself (as to be changed):
Version from:
Version to:
Order from:
Order To:
Fiscal year from:
Fiscal year to:
All of the above variable are created with the following parameters:
Variable input: Optional (have also tried madantory)
Ready for input: is flagged.
Variable represents: Single value.
No default entry.
No personalized data.
Now in WAD, I create a button group for this function by selecting the Command, 'Executing Planning Function (simple)', manually entering my plan function technical name next to 'Command specific parameters', and selecting the dataprovider created for the filter I created in IP, and finally flagging the 'Display variable' button.
The problem is, on the web template the variable screen does not appear when I click on the function button. It executes the function in the background without giving me the pop-up for variable selection. And obviously since the variables have no default values, nothing is processesed.
I've tried this with planning sequence instead, and still wont give me the variable pop-up screen..
I've actually explicitlet entered the variables on the 'Parameters for Command screen', the same screen where you enter the filter for databinding and well as the function.
It still wont work (no variable pop-up screen).
Is this issue related to the support pack. We're on SP12 right now?
If not, do any of you gurus have any ideas? Big points will be rewarded for this.

In the parameterization of the command, there is an option 'show variable screen'. I am not sure if you have mentioned this clearly, but have you checked this option?

Urgent - Error when opening web template

Hello,
I was trying to open few CRM SAP standard web template in WAD. When I try to open the web template, getting the following error:
'The selected web template contains HTML fragments, non-supported web items or it is not designed to be edited with WAD. ......' Although I can execute templates and also can execute with 'RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN' in BWD.
I tried all the CRM web templates and getting same opening error. How can I solve this problem? I want to see the template in WAD. Is there any solution?

You can only view the template "HTML" (code) view with WAD for the problem you described. This can be done using RS_TEMPLATE_MAINTAIN or WAD. You cannot view the template using WAD to get the "Layout" graphical view (is this what you are trying to see?).
The only way to get around this is to strip out the HTML "fragments" from the HTML code, or to partition the templates into sub-templates.

URGENT!! Reporting Agent Web Template not filtering data on dataproviders

I am having problems with Reporting Agent web template settings. I have a query that uses a pre-query for MANAGER. I also have a query view for this query (I also tried using just the query in the web template). I created a reporting agent setting on the web template and used the pre-query as the control query. I have 80 MANAGER's, so I expect 80 dataproviders with each dataprovider having the data for 1 MANAGER. I get the 80 dataproviders, but each dataprovider has data for all 80 MANAGERs.
The dataproviders are then emailed using an ABAP program.
I would use Information Broadcaster, but the managers are not necessarily BW users and the manager list is fluent, so I don't want to create a separate setting for each manager.
We are on BW 3.5 SP18.

URGENT - BW Security for Web Templates

Hi All
I am relatively new to BW and am just putting my first major BW project live. I have just been told something by my colleague which seems strange to me, can anyone confirm or give me a workaround?
I have a number of Web Templates set up which use common Bex Queries as Data Providers (so two separate Web Templates may use the same query as Data Provider).
We are looking at Security settings, where one of these Web Templates is available to one user but not to another.
My colleague tells me that it's not possible to restrict authorization on webtemplates. Instead I have to duplicate my queries and have each web template using a different query so we can restrict security by query!!!!
Now that to me seems daft....it just increases the maintenance hugely because instead of changing a single query I now have to change multiple queries which are all copies of the same one.....just because BW can't handle security at Web Template level?
Is this true? Anybody got a workaround?

Actually I am not much aware of security in the area ow web templates.
But in general we dont need to hava separate query for the each user for restricting him/her to view some specific content. BW allows you to restrict the user access the data thats related to only specific parts of the hirarchy, or to only some part of the masterdata. for example we can restrict the user to access the data that related to the cost center he is responsible for or data that is belonging to his relavant customers. So even though user can acess the web template we can restrict the acess to the content that is visible to the user.As yóu have not given any specific details of the requirement like difference beetween templates and so on..i cant say how to set the authorizations.

Which Web Templates for printing and broadcasting

Hello,
we are running NW2004S SP10 with the Portal. We are using the web template 0AnalysisPattern and within this Web Template is a button called Send (for Broadcasting) and another called Print Version (for generating a PDF-Document which can be saved and or printed). This all works from a technical point of view good.
My question is now how I can change the layout of the PDF-File of the broadcasting PDF and also for the Print Version PDF? I do not know which Web Templates has to be changed. Could anybody please help me and give me this two Web Template names. Normally it should be possible to change within this templates the layout of the generated PDF-File, or am I wrong? I am very confused at the moment and need urgent help.

The big answer is one you wont like, I suspect, which is that it takes TIME to get to understand the way 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN works, and then to progress to understand how to change it. That process took me several weeks, I started by documenting how the different parts work, I can let you have this document if you like, that will save you about a week.
Moving on from that, specifically you need to understand how to access the EXPORT command from the Exel and PDF buttons, then you can see the Web TEmplate that is used to control the output. You know, I could tell you in detail (and if you search SDN you will find more detailed answers to your question) but there really is no short cut to understanding how it all works.

Not able to generate web Template

I have created a web template using a query , but when it comes to execution part in the explorer window its showing a error message as Page cannot be displayed.

Check out the serivces are activated or not?
U can check this Tcode SICF
Select Default host->sap->bw right clik and check if its in deactive mode then activate it and save.

I need a huge helps from you all as based on my requirement.
Is it possible to give a link from the web template to the BPS dialouge function where the user can enter the values?
When the user clicks the link it has to display the dialouge where the user can enter the values...
Also from the web template chart when i click on a particular plant will it give the detailed report in the next page of the particular plant automatically

Use web template to open a report from a menu

Hi all,
I have created one web template where I have a role menu that shows all reports that are available to the user. When the user clicks on one of these reports, the report displays in a new window. So far everything is working fine.
But, I have also created another web template and I want the report that is displayed in a new window to use this template. How do I do this? I have been looking at the settings for the Role menu, but can't find anywhere to put the template name...
Anyone have any ideas?

Hello,
yes you can use the publish function, but only to add new entries.
In Transaction pfcg (not in WAD or BEx) in SAP GUI and then select your role at the tab "Menu" you can add/remove/maintain/organize your menu.
just click on a menu entry and take sth.like edit.
Then you will see a link if you didn#t find the string &template_id= the system will take the standard template (Tranaction spro), and you can easily add or change this parameter.

Problem of Query in Portal (web template)

I have a problem with a query.
I'm working on BI7 (BI java patch 12 and BI abap pacth 14).
The query is good working in BEx Analyzer.
Bus when I execute it in a portal like a web template, it doesn't work. The following error occurs :

In the default values (= filter) I'm using a variable for a characteristic C. If I delete this default value in query designer, the query works in portal. If i put a filter (constant or variable) to this characteristic C, the query bugs in portal.
So I don't know why it doesn't work.

Error while executing a web template in browser

Hi experts,
I am facing an issue when I am creating copy of an existing web template and executing it.
As per the query inserted in the web template, it should show the 'variable entry' screen, but its showing a page with lots of junk characters (looks like chinese to me).
When I execute the already existing template, its showing the correct screen.
Can anyone help me in fixing this issue?
