Urgent Workflow

Hi everyone,
I have landed a job this Saturday however it is different to what i am use to, i will explain my requirements and hopefully someone here will have the best solution.
On Saturday I am going to a cheerleading comp and both myself and another photographer will be required to do the following -
1. One person takes shots, comes back to the stand and gives the other the memory card and goes back out shooting
2. The person at the desk then has to get look at the photos on the memory card, discard the crap shots and then import them with specific numbered titles (example first batch will be photo 1 - photo 80) From there one of us will then export the photos into a folder on the desktop
3. Those photos will then be placed through iwatermark to be marked and saved onto an external HDD.
4. The external HDD will then have the contents transferred onto one of two computers set up on plasma screens that will run a slideshow with that file name under them so on the day people can order the photos
My question is how do i do this efficiently through aperture at the start and number them as I import the photos remembering that there will be multiple imports through the day and they all need labeling?
Any help or advise is welcomed.

If it was me, I would create a folder in Aperture that will be used for all of the photos from the event. Then inside the folder, create a Project for each card you import. Do not worry about editing or renaming before you import. Get the photos into Aperture and then use Aperture's tools to edit out the bad shots. Then starting with the first Project, do this:
*A. RENAME THE FILES*
1. Select all of the photos in the Project.
2. From the menu, go to METADATA > BATCH RENAME
3. From the "Version Name Format" dropdown menu, select "Edit"
4. Now select "Custom Name With Counter"
5. Enter something like "Cheerleading" in the subject area and the number 1 in the increment counter. If you think you will have over 1000 photos for the event, I would use 4 for the number of digits.
6. Click OK for the File Naming dialog box and OK for the Batch Change dialog box.
7. All of the photos in the Project will be renamed like this: Cheerleader0001, Cheerleader0002 and so on.
*B. EXPORT PHOTOS*
If not selected, select all of the photos in the Project and export them to your designated location by going to FILE > EXPORT > VERSIONS and using "Version Name" as the name format.
*C. NEXT PROJECT*
For the next Project (which you created for the next card imported), go through the same process: import all photos, edit out bad ones, select all remaining in that Project, rename them and export. This time when renaming, be sure the increment counter starts where you left off in the previous project.
Clicking on each Project will show you just the photos in that Project. Clicking on the folder containing all of the Projects will show you all of the photos for the entire shoot. When doing that, select the sort order to be based on "Version Name" and you will see all of your photos in order.
