How long is "a long time" ... hours? days? weeks?
Since you are using Yahoo mail, and having the same problem on more-than-one computer... the 'error code 7' is very likely to be a Yahoo-generated message, not related to your browser.
(I suggest this because I have seen similar messages many times from Yahoo in the past two months... although typically error code 4 or 14, rather than 7... and "We're working on it" is, literally, one of Yahoo's standard responses. Several times, Yahoo blamed network issues, including a severed underwater cable, for the problem; I have not experienced the issue for a few weeks now.)

All video applications crash when loading a video. Including web browsers, vlc and quick time

Last night chrome started crashing when trying to load a youtube video. I tried on safari and then downloaded firefox but they crashed too blaming flash player. Then when i tried to play a video using vlc that crashed too and so did quick time. Nothing will play in any application.
I've tried reinstalling the browsers, uninstalling and reinstalling flash player, repairing disk permissions, starting in safe mode and installing avast to scan for malware but none of these have made any difference. I haven't installed any updates since the last time it was working

You don't have to disable any addons or extentions!!!You guys are not going to believe this I figured out the problem it's really dumb...ok here goes the attachment uploader loads seperate so I got to thinking it's a popup so I went to options content and under block pop ups there is an option exceptions click on that and in the box type firefox.com and hit allow pow its fixed!!!!! :-)

Cannot open grooveshark due to a supposed problem loading flash. (I have the latest version of both (Mozilla and Flash)

Everything with firefox works ok except Grooveshark. An error message appears saying: We had problems loading flash, you might have any blocker etc etc.
I don´t have any blocker and as a matter of fact i have the latest versions for both mozilla and flash. Neither version of flash test nor reinstallation process nor checking add ons or firewall settings solved my problem.

To double-check your Flash permissions for the site, you can click the globe or padlock icon to the left of the address, click More Information, then click the Permissions tab. The "Activate Plugins" section would be the one to check.
I understand you have checked your add-ons, but in case there is an unexpected interaction, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode just to confirm that extensions are not the problem? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

You, or someone using your computer, hacked the system to redirect certain URL's. The file modified is /etc/hosts.
The easiest way to fix the hosts file is to restore it from a backup that predates the modification, or to copy the unmodified file from another Mac. If you can't do that, then do as below. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data. This is a simple procedure, but if you don't follow the instructions exactly, you could be left with an unbootable system. In that case, you'll have to restore from a backup or reinstall OS X.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
open -a TextEdit /etc/hosts
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

I am looking for some hotels on mozilla and encountered a strange issue, the hotel ad for first slot is not aligned in knowledge panel.

I was looking for a hotel on mozilla and the first hotel exhibiting in the ad is not aligned with knowledge panel. However it is showing correct result on other browsers. You may have zoomed web page(s) by accident.
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

If you have made changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but to use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.

WRT610N URL Blocking

When I try to enable URL Blocking, it denies internet access entirely. Is it possible to deny access, just to a specific url? Seems like it should be, theirs fields for it.
I'm on latest firmware.

To block a particular website on your router, you need to login to your routers setup page, and click on Access Restrictions Tab, and under access restrictions tab under Website Blocking y URL Address you can input the website address which you want to block and click on Save Settings. Dont make any other changes on your router Under Access Restrictions tab.
Once you are done after this you can check if the website is been blocked on your router.

Are you also accessing an email account and SMTP server provided by SBCGlobal.net with either email client and if so, are you able to send messages with this account and SMTP server when connected to the internet via SBCGlobal.net at home?
And let me get this straight - both email clients work fine without any problems sending messages with your Office email account and SMTP server when connected to the internet at a friend's house that uses another ISP besides SBCGlobal.net but this is an Apple problem?
If an Apple problem, then you'd have problems sending messages with this account and SMTP server regardless whose network and ISP you are connected to.
Regardless what this more than likely under-trained or just unaware person at SBCGlobal.net told you, all ISPs have restrictions on using an SMTP server that is outside of their network or that isn't provided by the ISP used for connecting to the internet.
Some ISPs allow the use of an authenticated server only that is outside of their network but some block its use regardless.
Within the last year or so, SBCGlobal.net made a drastic change in regards to such restrictions and conveniently neglected to inform their customers beforehand. Those using an SMTP server that was outside of SBCGlobal.net's network regardless if the SMTP server was authenticated were required to "opt out" of Port 25 blocking with SBCGlobal.net in order to use an SMTP server that was outside of their network which was working fine before this change was made.

I am running Firefox 5, McAfee Site advisor is blocked. I contacted McAfee and they said it won't work with Firefox 5 and that I should use an ealier version of FF or use IE. Is there a patch coming to allow Site Advisor to work on FF 5?

As above McAfee apparently feels the fault is with FF. I will admit that under the latest 3 version it worked fine. I skipped version 4 because of some things a read about it. I did go with FF5.

The McAfee Site Advisor add-on is blocklisted by Mozilla due to that Site Advisor extension being the #2 cause of crashing the Firefox 5.0 betas. I like to use „URL Blocking“ with keywords in the firewall properties. When I activate this feauture, I get errors from the router certificate when I browsing to any site in the Internet.

You can´t block https sites in your router, if you want to do that, you could use a third party software such Protect link or Opendns, however if you already rebooted your router and configured manually twice and it still not working you, can you please reach out to our Small Business Support Center and open a Service Request to address this issue?
