URL Blue Bar but no Website

I downloaded Safari 1.2 successfully; however, when I type in a URL address or click on the preset pages no webpage appears.

I downloaded the upgrade to safari 1.2 (V125). It said successfully!
I am still not getting websites that I type in the URL box.
Safari works with "OSX software" in the finder and with "Sherlock" but only to the sites that are shown in the page bar immediately under the URL box. That is how I finally found the download. I used Safari for the download with OS9 turned off.
Very frustrating.
My internet explorer in OS9 still works.
I now have internet explorer 5.2.3 for OSX,
,JAVA 1.4.2 and the latest JAVA update for 10.3-10.3.8 and Safari 1.2 all on OSX 10.3.9.
There may be a problem with my finder.

I would select a link from the drop down on the address bar but the page would not open. I would select it again but the page does not open. I could only reach website by selecting google on most visited list.

After updating AVG anti-virus, I encountered a problem on Firefox. I would select a link from the drop down on the address bar but the page would not open after clicking on it. I would select it again, even double click, but the page does not open. I could only reach website by selecting google or yahoo from my dropdown on the most visited list and then click the website that I want to visit. I would like to do this in one step by just selecting a link from my history on the address bar and select a link instead of going to google and then writing the page I want to visit. What could be the problem? When going to the address bar to select a link to open, why does the site not open? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your response. I am not an experienced user of FC or other video editing software but if its that hit and miss I think I will go to the trouble of finding some better software - I have a busy enough life as is, I don;t want to get into second guessing what a software problem might be!
I have just successfully exported my video to a master file using one of the Apple codec options so it looks like it could be to do with the H.264 codec. I am wondering if Apples Compressor software would solve this problem - the only way to try this it to buy it, there is not trial for the compressor app. Any ideas?

Repeating your question in the post doesn't fully explain what the problem is. Are you saying that you installed the game and it is trying to install again?
Without knowing anymore than why you have posted ..... try rebooting the iPad and see if the installing resumes, the download disappears .....
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Your outgoing mail server is different than your incoming server. Usually the outgoing mail server will have smtp in it. I noticed yours said "cannot send message using the server mail.wavecable.com". That sounds like an incoming mail server. Try setting your outgoing mail server to smtp.wavecable.com

When clicking a link normally - a new tab would open, but in this version a new window opens and there are 2 blue bars - the bar at the top of the browser and on the left hand side is a orange firefox button - Next time i start firefox it crashes!!!

This window looks weird: there are 2 blue bars(the upper blue bar - normally there is 1, with the current page name and - Mozilla Firefox written in white inside of the bar) plus in the 2nd bar there is an orange firefox button, on the left hand side.
I have already asked this question and was adviced to start in safe mode - this did not help either.
Please help me quickliy, it is really annoying.

My location bar, tool bar (file, edit, tools, bookmarks, help) disappeared and cannot be restored. I have no back button, home button etc. the top of the screen is just an empty blue bar. Internet still works if I click on a hyperlink on the main page.

The problem started when I turned on the computer this morning. I tried to install Mozilla 4 from your website and that installed but I still have nothing on the top.

It may be due to Firebug. Seeing as how you're a web developer, it's very possible you have this installed. The latest version, 1.7X a10, appears to cause everything you described. I downgraded to "a8" and that seems to have fixed everything.
I also recreated a profile from scratch before trying this out, so I can't guarantee it's definitely Firebug.

When i open a new tab i get a tab with 2 blue bars, instead of one - the one on top of the site - and a little firefox dropdown - and when i start the next session firefox crashes???

When clicking a link - a new tab opens. But the new tab which opens looks wired: There are 2 blue bars - the one you get on each session(where the red x is which closes everything) - I don`t know how you call this. This 2nd blue bar is located directly under the "normal" one and has got - on the left hand side- a firefox dropdown menue(when you click it you get: New Tab, Start private browsing, edit, save page as and so on.
I can close the session as always but when i start the next session a view hours or a day later then firefox opens all the tabs from the session before as individual windows - and then it crashes. This happens 2 or 3 times - then i see a window where i am asked to either restore the old session(which doesn`t work - it always crashes again) or start a new session - which works.
This is very annoying. Please tell me what to do.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Powerbook G4 freezing at blue bar startup

Hi there
I have a Powerbook G4 Titanium (1Ghz processor) 1Gb RAM. For nearly 5 years it has given me no problems. I have Tiger 10.4.8 installed.
A week ago it suddenly started to get very slow and required restarting 3 or 4 times before the problem seemed to go away. Then a few days later the problem returned, this time much worse, so I ran Cache Out X, which seemed to help for a while. Then today it ground to a halt and when trying to restart it just froze.
In the last 10 hours I have tried the following:
Booted up from the Tiger install CD and successfully ran the Repair Disk Permissions in Disk Utility.
Booted up from the Apple Hardware Test CD and successfully ran the Extended Test, which passed everything okay.
However, I cannot Safe Boot (Startup with Shift) or reset the Pram (Restart with Command-Option-P-R), as in both cases it only ever gets as far as the grey Apple logo.
I also cannot re-install Tiger, as the 60Gb Hard Drive is 58Gb full and Tiger needs more space to install...but of course I can't free up space because I can't startup properly to access the files on the Hard Drive.
After trying all the above, if I start up normally now then the grey Apple logo and the grey startup animation stay on the screen for maybe 10 minutes, then the startup window appears and the blue bar takes around 2 minutes to reach the right hand side of the window, but then nothing. The blue bar stays full permanently, but OSX never gets to the desktop.
As a last ditch attempt I've opened up the Powerbok to try and locate the Pram and take out the battery, but I've been unable to do this.
It's worth noting that when booted up from the Tiger install CD I also tried to Repair Disk (rather than Repair Disk Permissions) and got an error message saying "Invalid sibling link. Volume check failed. First Aid failed. The underlying task reported failure on exit". I'm not sure what this means.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what to try next?

I am glad you were able to remove some of the information from the HDD. I suspect that you have some kind of hardware issue, maybe even the HDD, but we can't be sure until we do a bit more to be sure it is not software related. Next, then, try this:
Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it says anything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior

First time user. Instructions on how to use not clear. My problem is the message "Do you mean to switch apps? Reader is trying to open Internet Explorer?" suddenly appeared in blue bar. Occurs with I click on links in PDF. What caused this? How to fix? How to avoid it from happening again?
Same conflict with email links, just different message: "Do you mean to switch apps? Reader is trying to open mail?"
Goal: Do not want to switch apps and do not want to be asked this question.
Environment: Windows 8, file developed in Publisher 365, Reader 10 "I think"

Thank you for responding. I have recreated the error, but cannot figure out how to use Snipping Tool to get screenshot of a Windows 8 panel. Have the tool placed in the tool bar, but tool bar not accessible on the PDF display. Any suggestions?
