URL Button

Hi All,
I have a URL button that launches a webi document. Now, I want to pass parameters to the report Prompts.I have more than 2 prompts and say I want to pass cell A1 to Prompt1 and Cell A2 to Prompt2. What should my URl look like ?

Thanks for the Reply. I am not sure which syntax to use when there are spaces in the report name. is it '+' or '_'

B1 is the value for Prompt1 Through Date (I have to construct a time also format of which will look like 7/13/2009 12:00:00 AM).
B2 is the value for Prompt1 Enter Planning Family
I tried the above and it is still prompting with the Manually entered values. Does it auto-refesh the values and still promopt. or does it internally refresh the prompts and do not prompt ?

URL buttons not working in Powerpoint

Hi
I have just created an Xcelsuis report and exported this to Powerpoint.
Now it opens up fine in Powerpoint, but my URL buttons do not work (they do not open the excel files i want, i.e. My button is URL: C:\Test\Test.xls)
When exporting to a pdf format this URL button works fine.
Please can you advise how I can get this working for my Powerpoint.

When you export the SWF to your desktop or into a PPT it will not have permission to access external data by default (or call a URL).
You need to add C:\Program Files\...\PowerPoint.exe as to the list of trusted items using the Adobe Global Security Settings Manager, see the Xcelsius Release notes for more information about the Flash Player Security...

Suddenly, my custom url buttons disappeared from the navigation bar and I can no longer add new ones. FF22

I am using Firefox 22 (I like its features and do not want the features added in later version.) I have added a handful of custom URL buttons to the navigation bar that allow me to go instantly to websites I visit frequently. There was/is a function in Firefox for adding such buttons. This morning, after leaving my computer on all night, I found that the custom buttons had disappeared and I could no longer find the function for adding new ones. Can you tell me what has happened and how I can add custom URL buttons? I will appreciate your help. Thank you.

I solved my own problem. This function was added by Google Shortcuts, which somehow became disabled. After fussing ariound for a few minutes. I was able to restore it.

URL button doesn't work after export into ppt/word/pdf

Hi,
I am working in Xcelsius.
Lets say I have placed a URL button in the Canvas and mapped that to a path of the file(which is not actualy an URL),but any path of the file which is present in the local system
After exporting this dashboard into ppt(or word/pdf),when i click the button,its not redirecting me to a target.
But during Preview of dashboard,it works fine.But after exporting,the URL button not redirects me to the path specified.

Safari copy url button doesn't work

I just upgraded from an ipad2 to an iPad air 2. Before, if I wanted to copy and paste a url I'd use the copy button. Now,on the new iPad air 2, the copy button just wipes out whatever I've previously copied, and doesn't copy the url.

You tap and hold down in the URL field until you get the option to select all. Then you choose the option to select all. An option to Copy appears and you select that and then you should be able to paste that URL into a text field.
Safari copy url button doesn't work
I Realize that you must know the steps but I am just double checking. If that is not working for you, and you are not having copy and paste issues elsewhere in other apps, I would try clearing Safari, force close it and then reset your iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
Now force close Safari. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Survey - Generate URL button is grayed out

Hi,
I have created survey in UI but when I click on Generate URL and enter Get file/send file, I get Generate URL button grayed out.
Please suggest. I could able to generate URL for GUI but not in UI.

How can I format the URL Button?

I am using multiple URL buttons that point to cells of data that reflect numbers, such as %, $ and #,###. I have tried formating the excel spreadsheet directly, however, the format of the URL button isn't coming through?
Is there a solution to accomplish this?

What you want to do the url button,just create a URL and paste in excel sheet and link the cell to URL button.But you need to split the URL syntax and palce into 2 cells. one cell contains the server details and another one contains the prompt values and concatenate these two cells.use the concatenated cell as URL button destination cell.

#DEVICENAME# in URL button sends wrong device name

Hi All,
I'm trying to set up a service URL button that will allow users to logout of extension mobility without having to go into the Services button.
I setup the following Phone Logout service:
http://<IP Address>/emapp/EMAppServlet?doLogout=true&device=#DEVICENAME#
If I access this from the services button, it works, but if I hit the URL line key it fails.
I did an Ethereal trace, and found out it is sending the wrong device ID when it fails.
bad logout url: SEP00016CEADFF0
good logout url:SEP0013CED06212 (correct device name)
Any ideas what might cause this? This is CCM 4.1(3)sr3b

Check the registry entry of the Cisco CallManager Extension Mobility:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco SystemsInc.\DirectoryConfiguration\AppUsers\CCMSysUser.
Make sure that an entry for "Password" exists and that the "UserID" is "CCMSysUser"
If everything is set up correctly, perform a Stop and restart of Internet Information Service (IIS).

Missing "Generate URL" button

Hi folks.
We have recently upgraded our SolMan installation (3.20) to Support Package Level 16 in hopes of getting the "Generate URL" button under document attributes.
The strange thing is that the button doesn't show.
Do we have to do some configuration in SolMan for the button to be shown?

Hi Søren,
I know this feature only from release SolMan 4.0. There you had to activate three services in SICF:
/default_host/sap/bc/solman/SolManDocuments
/default_host/sap/bc/solman/defaultUser (and all activities below)
/default_host/sap/bc/contentserver
Then I could at least see the button. To access the documents you have to assign two profile parameters in addition:
login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1 (from default 0)
login/create_sso2_ticket = 2 (from default 0)

Create pop up box when URL button is clicked?

I would like to have a pop up box appear when a URL button is clicked. The URL button links to a Web Intelligence report that takes more than a minute to run. The pop up box will tell the user that the report will take more than one minute to run, and will give the user the option of running the report or cancelling the request. This functionality doesn't seem to exist, but am I missing something?

I'm trying to put an URL button among items, but it's not possible. The only places available are left, right, up and down region. Why?

Create your button selecting the option: Create a button displayed among this region's items. (the second choice)
This will create a button within the items of your region and not require you to pick Top, Bottom, Left, Right or the like.

Hello Everybody,
i have one question:
i open a document through the url-button, but everytime i am clicking on the url-button, xcelsius (swf) open a new instance of the document, is there a possibilty to set the focus on the document which is already open?

Xcelsius URL Button limitation

Hello,
We are using URL button to pass varibles from Xcelsius model to WAD templates but we have a problem, we are not able to pass more than five variables because it looks like there is a limitation in number of characteristics that can be passed using a URL Button.
Is it true if yes do we have any work around?

The length of the URL depends on what web browser and what server software you are using. Some information follows: IE 7 with Tomcat: limit of about 740 characters (because "Get" is used, and more characters are added onto the URL in processing causing IE to reach the max of @1083 characters). With IE7 and IIS, the url can be a lot more characters (I haven't found the limit yet). Also, with Firefox and Chrome and Tomcat, the url can be a lot more characters. Hope this is helpful. The main thing to do is use preview mode and save your snapshot as an excel file. Then you can open the excel file and copy and paste your url into a web browser in order to debug. Hope this is helpful.

[URL button] unable to "Open In This Window"

Hi,
I use an "URL button" and set the property to Open In This Window.
In the Preview mode, it just launches a new window.
After exporting to HTML, it's even worse. There is no reaction at all after pushing the button. It's not leading to a new homepage nor open a new window.
How can this be solved? BTW, I'm using Xcelsius 2008

Hello Sunny,
Once you deploy the html and swf files to a web server and view, does it work as you expect?
The restrictions you see should only be with preview and when you open the html as a file in a web browser.

Grafics as url button

Is the anyway of making at grafic work as a url button.

The hint on placing a letter “a” worked, so all together the procedure works like this:
URL button:
1 Create a shape rectangular
2 Fill it with an illustration
3 Dubble-click turns it into a text field
4 Insert right tab with the tab inspector
5 Move the tab all to the right
6 Dubble-click so all is chosen (left-right)
7 Chose a text size in the text palette so all is chosen (top to bottom)
8 Insert a letter “a”
9 Enable hyperlink in the inspector
10 Now the URL can be changed to what ever. The display underneath can be delated.
11 It does not delete the a in the button field. Here you have to make some spaces instead of the letter, so the the chosen area covers nearly all of the button.
12 Chose the bouton and cut paste it into the cell of the table, so it stays on the spot.
