URL for Eclipse mirror sites?

Does anyone have the URL for an Eclipse mirror download site? It appears that Eclipse have hosted the list of mirrors on their download site itself, which is not responding very quickly due to its current load of a gazillion hits per second...

AFAIK, there are no mirrors yet. The Eclipse team has
only announced that they are looking for sites
interested in becoming mirror sites.Only one duke for you, as I didn't like the answer!

Home page URL for a new site collection

Sorry for the kind of stupid question. I created a new site collection with Site Management menus. The home page has the URL like http://devtfs12/sites/corporate/_layouts/15/start.aspx#/ I expected that it should look like http://sharepoint.firm.lan/sites/corporate/SitePages/Home.aspx
e.g without "_layouts/15/start.aspx#" is there a way to change it? Is it possible to set up some sort of redirection so that http://sharepoint.firm.lan redirects to http://devtfs12/sites/corporate/_layouts/15/start.aspx#/ Thanks!

Hi,
You are noticing the URL with _layouts/15/start.aspx because the new feature Minimal Download Strategy is activated on your site.

If you don't want _layouts/15/start.aspx to be a part of your URL you need to deactivate Minimal Download Strategy feature available under Site Actions -> Manager Site Features
Note :Minimal Download Strategy is a new framework which is been written to increase the performance of the SharePoint site.

Use same URL for multiple SharePoint sites

Hi there,
Our requirement is to create multiple web applications in one Farm (which contains 1 Web Front End, 1 Application Server & 1 DB Server) using 80 port of Web Front End which is having single public IP.
There are number of ways of doing this - One way is to create new domain name for each web application (like www.abc.com; www.xyz.com); another way is to create multiple sub domains in a single domain name like www.sub1.abc.com; www.sub2.abc.com, etc.
However our requirement for URL naming convention for these web applications is "www.[Domain Name]/[Client Name]" (like www.abc.com/client1, www.abc.com/client2, etc)
In SharePoint we can achieve this if we create one Parent site and others as Child site. However we don't want to us this.
So, is their any way where we can form URL of these web applications as "www.[Domain Name]/[Client Name]"

Is there a reason for this? I would think subdomains would be ideal, but just curious on the reasoning. Also, do they need a full web application, or simply different site collections? If you just need site collections, and assuming you
don't have a massive number of them, you could use Managed Paths to explicitly allow a site collection immediately under the root url. Be careful, though, Managed Paths can cause a lot of overhead after you go over 10-15 if you're hardware isn't up for
it (I would assume you wouldn't put 10-15 web apps on the farm anyway, cause that's also not so great).
There really isn't a way to do what you are asking for a full Web Application, only at the site collection level(which should be good from my limited understanding of your scenario)
I am very curious why subdomains wouldn't work, though, as they can all point to the same IP and takes no additional purchasing of domains or anything.

Oracle Enterprise pack for eclipse in Spring STS

I installed Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse in Spring STS (Springsource Eclipse IDE). I want to use this for Oracle OSB development. After installing this I cannot find the options to create OSB project in STS.
Am I missing something?
I noticed that in Oracle Enterprise pack for eclipse IDE (the one installed with weblogic server) has Oracle Common Tools too. Do I need to install this one? If yes, where can I find the URL for eclipse update?

Mobile Url for a site gives an error

when i try to access the mobile site of a SharePoint 2010 site it gives me the following error:

According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you access the mobile URL for SharePoint site.
I recommend to append "?Mobile=1" to the end of the URL of the SharePoint site
to access the mobile view to see if the issue still occurs, such as
http://MyServer/MySite/default.aspx?Mobile=1.
If the error still occurs, I recommend to check if the mobile view is activated for SharePoint.

Site not Opening as it is saying Cannot make a cache safe URL for "1033/style library/lg/jquery-1.9.1.js

When try to open site it is giving this error

Solution 1 :Deploy your script files under Style Library of your site.
if it is not working try the below
Sometimes you will get the error as "Cannot make a cache safe URL for "1033/sp.debug.js", file not found. Please verify that the file exists under the layouts directory. " For this you can copy the sp.debug.js file and put it inside C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033.
- Another solution is you can add Localizable = false attribute to SharePoint:ScriptLink like below:

- Apart from this you can also give file path simply using script tag like below (provided file should be deployed inside StyleLibrary):

Root Site URL for crawling in case of HNSC

We have created a webapplication without a host header i.e
http://servername:port, for crawling i need to make the DNS entry for this root site following are my doubts:
1)Is it a best practise to give hardcoaded servername as a part of URL for dns entry?
2)Organization doesnt allow to register servername as DNS entry
3)AAM can be used for this?
Please suggest the best practise

- as the server is already in your domain, your DNS will already have an entry for your server name, so you dont need to create any other record in your DNS for server name.

- because it is already there

- you need to be more specific with this question, but if you have the URL http://servername:port in your AAM, you should be able to crawl it.

Hi Cameron, I believe the error message is indicating that our plugin is requiring a version of org.eclipse.ui 3.1.0 or higher. Does your current version of Eclipse have Crystal Reports for Eclipse already installed? If not, then it is likely you will need additional plugins from the Eclipse.org site which are not installed by default. I just tried this on my end and selected the Callisto Discovery Site as well as the Business Objects site. After selecting the latest version of CR4E, I expanded the Callisto Discovery Site and clicked the "Select Required" button. This allowed my download to go through. Can you confirm that you are following these steps? If you like I can upload a doc with a selection of screenshots demonstrating the steps I followed. Let me know and I will post it in a follow-up. Try the Firefox SafeMode.

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

Understood. Good question. You certainly won't be the last one to ask that. The short version is "I don't know", but the longer version is that it's possible to figure it out.
The contributor UI is set up so that you can override any element you want. You're going to want to figure out which session variable is set to hold the site id - it's probably "pubid". Then, create a dedicated CSElement/SiteEntry pair that is the URL that you redirect to. Then element does nothing but pre-set pubid to what you want, and then calls the "front door" the UI. At that point, the framework should pick up the newly set pubid and you're off to the races.
Caveat - I haven't tried this on the contributor UI yet but it works beautifully on the advanced UI to do all sorts of things - like creating a URL directly to an asset's edit screen etc.

Is there a way to get the RSS feed url for a blog using Safari? I'm currently using FF for this since it is very simple. But that's about the only reason I use FF. Would be nice not to need two tools.
I don't want to subscribe to the site in Safari. I have an RSS Reader app that I plug the url into. I just want to see the url.

For some reason they removed that handy feature from Safari. But, there is an Extension called RSS Menu, which will add a button on your toolbar, giving you that function back.

Being optimistic to get the proper help regarding the "Call Back" Url for twitter, I'm here. Actually I'm implementing
"TwitterAPIME-RIM-OAuthSample" for twitter. Here I am feeling helpless when callback url has been asked.
I read somewhere that call back url is not required for java me. But here after putting my credentials in web view, I can't return back to my app as I'm passing "" in callback url param(as I think).
How to handle this thing... please suggest me??

CallBack URL is the url where the twitter redirects after successful authentication. The callback url can be a webpage that builds in any web tech like php etc. for the application. Then the mobile app moves to that redirected page after successful authentication. We can set www.google.com as Callback Url. In that case we need to check the url in the onPageStarted method of the WebViewClient as to finish the webview otherwise it redirects it to www.google.com.
