URL for viewing local files
I'd been using Browserlab successfully today, viewing local files from Dreamweaver CS5. I logged out and then returned later in the day and am now having problems as the Browserlab window is failing to automatically load the local file's URL in the box at the top of Browserlab screen (the URL box just stays blank. Can I manually input the local address and if so can someone advise the general format. I assume something like http://localhost/.... Obviously I will need to input my own file names, but just need the root URL/general format for viewing local files.

Thank you for your interest in BrowserLab. Please check to see if you have the BrowserLab web site open in another browser or browser tab. You should only have one instance of BrowserLab open at a time. You might also try restarting your browser (all instances) and Dreamweaver and if that doesn't work, the OS.
BrowserLab currently only allows you to specify local or firewalled URLs from Dreamweaver. Directly inputting a URL into the BrowserLab testing interface will test the page from the perspective of a person elsewhere on the Internet. Open the site you want to test in Dreamweaver LiveView, select "Local" in the BrowserLab Panel in Dreamweaver and click the Preview button.

How to treat URL as a local file

I am working on an existing piece of code. The whole code has been designed in such a way that all the methods take file as the argument. for example getMiMeType(File F) ........However, now my function is to add streaming capabilities so that lets say i can run the file http://www.xyz.com/ix.mpg and use the existing methods instead of writing new ones, how can i do that. Help Appreciated.Fair enough, these are basically media files that will be read and then played. At the moment the application is stand alone so all the functions take arguments as files. Now however, if I want to add a file which is on lets say at some webserver, then i have got the problem. Because i cant find a way to treat the URL as a local file. However, the idea of extending the java.io.FIle is good but still too long.

Service for delete local files in Business Connector
I have used the "get" service for copy the files in the Business connector, does anybody know if there is any service for delete local files, i have seen the service for delete remote files with ftp, but i don´t know how to delete the copied files in my server.

For this issue the best choice is create your own Java Service. I attach you the Java code:
Put this code in a new Java Service

Before, you must to create an input parameter in the new service where you must to save the file path. Change Filename with the input parameter variable.

Open a url and view the files with it's timestamp
Hi guys,
I need to create a flow service in SAP BC to connect to a server by it's url and display it's files with it's timestamps.
I have never done this b4, and usinf SAP BC makes it harder for me.. Mostly I need to know how to access the server and view the files with their timestamp.
Any guidance for me will be much appreciated.

It's like this. I will connect to an FTP server. Then I need to view the files it the server or folder i specify with their respective timestamps.
I am using SAP BC and it's webMethods to create the JAVA flow service. I am only now familiarising myself with SAP BC.
Moreover I have never done a coding to access a server and list it's file. I can do it o view in a local directory using JFrame aand stuff... But SAP BC doesn't support those..
So If u can give me some guidelines to follow.. i would appreciate it.

Error - In generating URL for a Excel File in WebDynpro Project

In my WebDynpro Application, i have a EXCEL file ("Test.xls") and it is kept in the below mentioned location.
Project->src->mimes->Components-><my component>
This is the code i have used to generate URL.

i have assigned the URL to context element which in turn is assigned to LinkToURL UI element.
I always get this error "Invalid URL=/webdynpro/resources/local/RigsOnMove/Components/ndc.maintain_rigmove.MaintainRigMoveComp/Test.xls".
Please let me know your solution(s) to the above mentioned issue/problem.

your code seems to be correct! Probabily your file is test.xls (NOT Test.xls with the first letter in uppercase).
Try to write:

Download a PDF from an URL to a local file
Hi all,
we are trying to get a pdf file from the internet with FM HTTP_GET, and after that download to a local file with WS_DOWNLOAD.
Our problem is that we do not know wich type of table to use in order to retrieve the RESPONSE_ENTITY_BODY from HTTP_GET.
Sometimes the PDF have 4000 of length sometimes 1200.
Could you please help us?

I want to execute this procedure.
When I clok on the link I get this error message : "You don't have permission to access /pls/apex/SIVOA.dl_file on this server."

I have a big problem trying to download a local file to an internal table. I have lines with more than 8000 positions, and i've tried to use WS_UPLOAD, GUI_UPLOAD and SO_OBJECT_UPLOAD, but all of them show me this messages:
- Unable to satisfy send request: 8001 bytes.
¿Do you know any function module (i think it could be OO) that allows me to load this file?

Wrong metadata shown for some local files
As shown in the first attachment, I have some mp3s for a japanese artist, and one of the tracks spotify wrongly associates it with a completely different track. the title of the track isn't even the same (it is "Please Please", all other details are the same as the surrounding tracks). This I could put up with no problem as it still plays the mp3, the annoying thing for me is that it scrobbles the wrong track to last.fm when i listen to it. The 2nd attachment shows another smaller issue, as they actually match to the correct tracks (even though the spotify linked ones are singles rather than the album) but also provides the same scrobbiling issue since the artist and album names are in english rather than japanese like I have in the id3 tags. An advanced option to prefer local file metadata over spotify metadata would be king here!
Some files when imported into the timeline were shown shorter, because the frame rate that was deduced from the file was way too high. The fix targets this scenario.In fact, there could be cases where the frame rate displayed could be as absurd as 500 fps from a mobile phone camera which is not capable of capturing at that high rate.
So if someone has reported such issues, they could benefit from this. The fix is for both Windows and MAC -
What is the URL for an uploaded file?
Hi guys, Muse has a feature: File > Add file for upload. Adobe blog describes it here. But leaves us dead when it comes to then finding the URL for uploaded files. Any clues? I'm trying to add an image URL to meta data so my blog post is not blank when sharing on Facebook. Be great if future Muse upgrades could allow us to elect an image or video to typify a page when it comes to sharing.

I gave the image the snappy title of 819A8983. Having republished the site, I see it as an upload in the assets panel. I assume to follow your instructions I put the website address up front, but when I enter http://www.bonne-app.com/assets/8I9A8983.jpg I get the a white screen and text: /*Not found*//*Not found*/
Having floating files associated with the URL would be useful in future, but I'll certainly go ahead with a plug-in for now.

URL for viewing current month calendar
We are using iCal to publish and view our school calendar. We have a mixed computer environment of Macs and PC. The principal has a Mac and creates calendar events in iCal and it is automatically uploaded to our .Mac account and published as a web page.
The PC's have active desktop set to the school's calendar web page. This allows them to view the web page (the school's calendar) generated by iCal right on the desktop. The Macs automatically launch iCal which has subscribed to the school's Calendar.
My question has to do with the URL which I should set up for the PC's. If I use the default URL (http://ical.mac.com/dberg/argyle) the calendar is viewed in weekly view. We want it to view in monthly view so instead last month we set it to http://ical.mac.com/WebObjects/iCal.woa/wa/default?d=1&u=dberg&v=1&y=2005&m=8&n= argyle.ics which views the month. Then the month changed but the calendar didn't so we experimented with the URL and deleted the &m=8 value and that worked. It seems to now always display the current month. Then we noticed that the year value is still in the URL (&y=2005) so we are going to delete that value as well. My question is should we also delete the "d=1&" value as well? It seems to work without it but I don't really know wha that d value is all about. We noticed that if &v=1 is removed it goes back to week view so we want to leave that in.
Any other hints as to what URL values to use so that no matter what year or month it is it will always show the current year?Dave,
when you switch to Preferences, you'll see 2 sections: "Page View" and "Calendar View". Directly written under Calendar View you should see "Default calendar:" and a list field (sorry, I don't know the exact English term). HTTP Streaming + AES Encryption : Put key URL for segment local to device?
I am creating an HTTP live stream, and I would like to encrypt the segments using
AES 128 encryption. The apple docs describe one encryption method: storing the 16 byte key on disk, and providing the URL to this file in the index file.
Can I make this URL local to the device, of the form file:///PATH/TO/KEY ?
Rationale: I am using in app purchase to allow users to purchase access to my video content. I would like to provide the key when the user purchases the content. Then I would store the key to disk on the device. I can't store the key on the server because it does not support https.

Firefox uses this format to access shared files on a local network... file://///host/path eg file://///computername/sharename/MyDocs/filename.txt.
This format is different from the standard form file://host/path that is used on other browsers eg Windows, Chrome.
This means that Firefox does not give me access to shared files when I have coded the standard format URI into my local HTML documents. Why is Firefox different or non-standard.hello seebee, apparently file://///host/path is the standard form for a unc path:

Once you find the doc, you can invoke winword with a product from neava.com called coroutine.
