URL in yellow box

Whenever I have my mouse pointer on a link on a web page, the url of that link appears in a yellow box. It is sometimes usefull, but most of the time annoying!
I know there is a way to turn off that feature, but I don't remember how...
Can someone help me?

The yellow box seems to be tooltip.

How can I turn off the annoying yellow boxes that have started appearing?

It seems that recently I have started having annoying yellow boxes appearing when I hover over thing in the finder window. This is something that I didn't have going on in the previous 3 versions of Mac OS X.

This appears to be a third party extention of some sort with the bright yellow background? Start there if you modified.

Why can't yellow box appear on year beyond 2 years?

I create many events in 2014 in iCal. When I select list, it show only up to 2 years? Same thing with yellow box mark on each month didn't show beyond 2 years. Is there I can set up?

Something with your installation? I have played full lenght (90-120min) movies on my Mac, in Linux and on Windows and never encountered any problems.
Sometimes you may run into a codec problem on an older Windows installation? Or there are a ton of freeware and shareware players for Windows, but not all of them are equally good, so the player program may be at fault.
Also on windows, depending on what security and/or AV software you use, it can interfer with display of large files.
At work I have to use a quad-core Windows 7 Pro (64bit) machines, but I've streamed large video's just fine (training programs or previously recorded webinars and such). With the right software and setup, Windows has no problems with large videos.

I want to print edited Pages documents with Comments written in margins, not yellow boxes

Can anyone tell me a way to use Track Changes to edit a Pages document so my comments are printed in margins, not hidden in yellow boxes. I was able to do this on Word documents, but my students are now using Pages. Neither they nor I can see all comments unless we click to open them one at a time in Pages. We would like to see comments in the printed document as well as a line crossing out words I suggest as deletions.

You are using the wrong application.
Use Pages '09. Or continue using Word.

Yellow Boxes around type in normal view mode but not in preview?

There are these yellow boxes that appear around type when in normal view mode, but when in preview mode it disappears.....any idea of what I can do to alleviate this issue? Here is an image of the problem....

Under Tools ... Options ... Workspace, there is an option "Display Object Name Tool Tips While Pointing".
Try clearing that.

How do I get rid of this yellow box with my name/address that is stuck at top of my screen?

I have this annoying yellow box at the top of my screen. I am guessing my baby girl was typing on the computer and hit some combination because now I have this yellow box on the top of the screen with my name and address in it and I can't move it or make it disappear. Any ideas?

Re the yellow box, have you tried restarting?
If you click on the box, what application name is displayed for the app menu (that's the first menu to the right of the Apple menu)?
Re defragmenting your Mac, such is usually not needed with OS X. OS X usually takes care of that itself, on the fly. What causes you to think it may be necessary to defragment the drive?

How do I get rid of an annoying yellow box displaying file data?

Within the last couple of days a yellow box displaying details of any graphic file beneath the cursor has started to appear when I switch spaces. It stays on screen for ten seconds then disappears. Clicking the mouse also removes it. It is very irritating. I recall something like this happening some time ago and was told how to remove it, but don't remember how. I would welcome suggestions.

I'm not seeing anything like that. Did you install anything lately that might be causing that?

Yellow box around rewind

I have created a custom simulation with the Rewind box
checked in Skin. When I publish the simulation and play it back,
sometimes a yellow box briefly surrounds the rewind icon in the
lower left corner. Sometimes it happens randomly. Other times it
happens only when I enter text and then press the tab key on my
keyboard. I have set up the tab key (instead of Enter) to accept
data input.
Any suggestions on how I can stop this?

I'm doubtful that you will be able to overcome it. Here's the
deal. Normally the highlight moves from selectable item to
selectable item on the page. Usually when one presses the tab key,
as you have seen.
There is no way I'm aware of to prevent it. Nor is there any
way to change the color from yellow to a more desirable shade.

"Breaking" the yellow box in Page Thumbnails?

I received a large, 26 page Pages document. I want to insert more pages between the current pages, but am unable to.
In the Page Thumbnails many of the pages are "locked" together in a yellow box. Not sure how to "break" it?

The yellow box around the pages when using Word Processing

I am somewhat new to the Mac, work with "Pages" to do newsletters. The first time I chose to use the Word Processing. Next I tried Pages layout.
It was when clicked on "View thumbnails" in Word Processing newsletter that I noticed the yellow box all around the pages. If I tried to delete a page, they all went. Luckily there is an "undo delete" button. (o:
I have since read the difference between layout and Word Processing from one of the posts. Is there any way to delete the yellow box?

There is one yellow box for each Section of the document. When you delete a Thumbnail, you delete the entire Section, however many pages are in that section. In Page Layout, each Page is a Section, so it may be deleted without affecting other pages.
To delete one page out of a Section in a Word Processing document, the easiest way is to highlight all its content and hit the Delete key.

Yellow boxes behind all caps text

I had a Quark 6 Mac file converted to ID CS3 Win using Q2ID and when I opened it I replaced the fonts with our own, however wherever the text had the all caps feature used in Quark (I guess) there are yellow boxes behind the letters. I can get rid of them only by selected the text and clicking off the All caps (TT button).
Is there another easier way to keep them as all caps and get rid of yellow boxes?
