URL opening in wrong extension

Hi,
I am using C_DESK_DOC_GET_URL to get the URL for an attached document in DMS.However though the attachment is docx the link provided opens the document in doc. The transaction CV02n opens the attachment in office 2007.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Papiya

Hi Papiya
As of now only three characters can be maintained in file suffix. I think *.docx format might be missing in the workstation application.
That might be the problem i your case.
Thanks & regards

• Wrong extension save

I think I already asked this but I got no feedback so I will do it again:
When I save a file, no matter the format, photoshop (cs5 extended) attaches the wrong extension to the filename and if close the tab with the image, it doesn't seem to remember I saved it alredy so it's asking me again if I want to save it before closing. For example, if I choose to save a image as JPG, I type a name and choose the extension accordingly, click save and choose quality level. In explorer the image is seen as an PSD file and if I open it with IrfanView it recognises that the extension is wrong and asks me if I want to correct it. How can this be solved?

It would have been good to be able to see your image as well, since you are apparently saving an image that must be saved "as a copy" (note the grayed out and checked [ ] As a Copy indication).  This can be because your file has layers, for example.  Since Photoshop wants you to preserve your work in a file format that has all the capabilities to save all the complexities of your file, saving as a copy doesn't satisfy it and it wants you to save your work in a .psd file on exit.  Hence the "file has changed" on exit.
The very first thing you need to do is (assuming you're using XP) go to Windows Explorer, Tools - Folder Options, View tab, and uncheck the [ ] Hide extensions for known file types box.  Then there will be no ambiguity about what file extension is being saved.
Then, when you are saving a JPEG, make sure it has the .jpg extension.

before using for all entries in, u need to check whether the driver internal table is empty, if it is empty, u should not enter into select statement.
if u wont use this check means, when the driver internal table is empty, the second select will take all the entires from the tables.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
*In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
*In previous Firefox versions, click on the Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window and click on Help (or click on Help in the Menu bar, if you don't have a Firefox button) then click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode <br>(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".<br>

I have iPhone 4s, and using latest iOS. When I try to open any link from Twitter or Facebook, it goes to open some wrong webpage. My iphone seems to be infected or suffering from some spyware or malware. How can I remove this wrong link opening ? Please help me to resolve...

I think the McAfee suite will do the trick when I pay them a one-time fee of $69 or $179 for a year for unlimited support.
Your call of course but IMO a waste of money. Please read this first:
There are many forms of ‘Malware’ that can affect a computer system, of which ‘a virus’ is but one type, ‘trojans’ another. Using the strict definition of a computer virus, no viruses that can attack OS X have so far been detected 'in the wild', i.e. in anything other than laboratory conditions. The same is not true of other forms of malware, such as Trojans. Whilst it is a fairly safe bet that your Mac has NOT been infected by a virus, it may have another security-related problem, but more likely a technical problem unrelated to any malware threat.
You may find this User Tip on Viruses, Trojan Detection and Removal, as well as general Internet Security and Privacy, useful:
https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2435
The User Tip (which you are welcome to print out and retain for future reference) seeks to offer guidance on the main security threats and how to avoid them.

• Apple's Firewall opens the wrong ports!

This is a follow up question to a problem posted in another forum here. There are a couple of screenshots in the last post that illustrate the problem.
In System Preferences > Sharing > Firewall, checking Apple Remote Desktop opens TCP and UDP ports 3238. The problem is that Apple Remote Desktop needs ports 3283 (not 3238 - note the last two digits are transposed) and 5900. I've already worked around this issue by creating a new firewall entry that opens the correct ports, but I'd really like to get my Sharing Preferences corrected. Plus it bothers me that I can't block port 3238 by unchecking Apple Remote Desktop since that will prevent ARD from working, even though it opens the wrong ports.
This isn't really an Apple Remote Desktop problem, it's something wrong with the firewall in this system's version of OS X. Any idea how I can fix it, other than the ugly workaround I'm using, and short of reinstalling OS X?

Editing the .plist file is easy with xcode's Property List Editor, which I just installed. However, before I did that I simply copied a "correct" /Library/Preferences/com.apple.sharing.firewall.plist file from another computer. That was even easier

• Update on question for parameters in URL opening a BSP iview

Hi again gurus.
I wanted to do an update on this thread: How do you create a URL with parameters for a BSP iview? but choose to do the update as this new question instead.
Well, in order to open a BSP iview from an external page shown in an Application Integrator iview in our portal AND FILL IN A FIELD, a link of this type is used on the external page:
http://<server:port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/z_purchase_req/process.htm?System=ABG_R3_ARD&mnr%3D9780198603641
If you read the other thread you will see that I couldn't use a link of the following type since it opened up something like the stuff found under "System Administration > Support > SAP Application" and there asked for BSP application and start page!
http://<server:port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.bwc.BSP?System=ABG_R3_ARD&SAP_TCode=Z_PURCHASE_REQ&STARTPAGE=process.htm
But the first link works so far as it opens up the correct transaction BUT the parameter won't get into the field. Does anyone know how to "format" the parameter correctly? When you open an iview of Transactional type you can use a URL like this (and it works also with writing parameter into a field):
http://<server:port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.bwc.Transaction?System=ABG_R3_ARD&SAP_TCode=ZARTS2&SAP_Dynp_Params=S_MATNR-LOW%3D9789146212720
It's the part ...&SAP_Dynp_Params=... that is of interest here. Should it also be used when working with URLs opening BSP iviews or not? Or should something similar be used instead? The name of the field "mnr" is correct in the BSP URL, at least I think so, I found it in the Web Application Builder under tab "Page Attributes". I have tried both "=" and "%3D" in the URL but neither works.
Any suggestions about the parameter format for this link or another completely different but working URL format would be extremely appreciated!
Best regards
Benny Lange

the Appintegrator Documentation says you can use something like <User.[AttributeName]>, so <User.email> and <User.company> (not sure about capital letters) should work.
Hope that helps.

• Launching Microsoft Access from Internet Explorer to view a downloaded MDB file opens the wrong file (not a problem if I use Firefox)

When clicking on a link (in Internet Explorer 9) to download an Access MDB file and then choosing to open the file directly in Microsoft Access (2007) instead of saving it, the file is copied to Temporary Internet Files but Microsoft Access tries to open
a different file and displays an (Unrecognized database format) error.
When I click on the option to open the file, the MDB file is copied to Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 but instead of that file, Access tries to open a different (incorrect) file located in Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO (e.g. in the above error
message, NativeView.do is an XML file containing an error message).
I don't see this problem with Word, Excel or PowerPoint files. When opening a Word file (without saving) the Word file is copied to Content.IE5 but an identical .tmp file is created in Content.MSO which when opened in Microsoft Word displayed the required file
correctly. The same happens for Excel files. PowerPoint appears to be handled a little differently (no .tmp file created in Content.MSO but the required file is still copied to Content.IE5) but the PPT file is still opened correctly in Microsoft PowerPoint.
I think the Content-Type "application/msaccess" is fine because Internet Explorer does launch Microsoft Access. It just tries to open the wrong file (or so I think). However, it looks like the file type is not being determined. Here is what I noticed
when trying to open different Microsoft Office files using Internet Explorer:
The last one is the MDB file. As you can see, only for this type of file, the "Type" (Microsoft Office Access 2007?) is not displayed in this Open/Save dialog box.
On Firefox, I don't see this problem. When I tried clicking on the link to the MDB file in Firefox, Microsoft Access was launched and the file was opened correctly. Is there something I can do so the MDB file is opened properly using IE? I can add/change headers
in the HTTP response that writes this file to the output stream (on disk) if that helps.
Thanks for your time!

Sounds like a problem symptom to be discussed in either an IE forum or an Access forum, not here.  How did you come to post here?  ForumsRedesign.  That might be an on-topic issue for this forum.  <eg>
Can you find your way to either of those other forums easily from here?  Another on-topic question for here I think.   ; )

How to detect the HTML extension window close in In-design? Does the In-design throws any event on opening/closing of extensions?
I have a HTML extension running in In-design CC 2014 version.
I want to perform some required set of actions before my extension window is closed(by clicking on the cross button on top right corner).
Does In-design throws any event for it? Or can we capture it using C++ plugin in some way?

Naah.......haven't got any event for that yet.
Although, since HTML extensions are using chromium browser,  as a workaround, u can attach listener to HTML onClose event, but it won't solve any purpose if you
are looking to logout session or do some business login in your code.

• Right click to open new firefox window opens in wrong workspace

Right click in Mac Dock to open new firefox window opens in wrong workspace.
When a user is in another workspace than the Firefox window, right clicking the Firefox icon in the dock and pressing New Window, should create a new window in the current workspace, Not the work space firefox is already running in.

To be absolutely honest, I can't ever remember a time where this worked in Firefox. I don't think the issue is related to the issue you mentioned, unless this particular issue only occurs if you have a dual-monitor-setup (I do have dual-monitors).
Firefox currently behaves differently to all native Mac apps + most Mac apps that support multiple windows.

• Using external editor (PSE12), sometimes photos open on wrong desktop

Using external editor (PSE12), sometimes photos open on wrong desktop. This is annoying and only happens 10-20% of the time. I then have to drag the photos to the desktop PSE is running in. Unfortunately I cannot find any pattern s to when this will happen. Has anyone else experienced this behavior?

Workflow-
iPhoto 9.5.1 open in desktop 1
PSE 12 open in desktop 2
In iPhoto I select 4 photos, rt click on one of the photos, select edit external editor
Most of the time the photos open in desktop 2, but 10-20% of the time they will open in desktop 1. I then show all the desktops (F3) and drag the photos to desktop 2.
I can see there is going to be a lot of finger pointing (iPhoto vs OSX vs PSE) as to which piece of the operation is dropping the ball. iPhoto finds the 4 photos, opens them in PSE, but someone lost the desktop information. With that said, I think the iPhoto programers need to talk to the OSX programers to determine if the desktop information is being correctly passed. (I would guess that PSE assumes all PSE windows will be on the same desktop)
As an aside, I can perform most of my PSE operations in desktop 1 using keyboard shortcuts.

• Contact in CUPC shows wrong extension

We have CUPS integrated with Active Directory and I have the correct extension on the user in Active Directory and the correct fields mapped (other users are correct), but when I hover over a contact in CUPC or double click the contact and dial them it has the wrong extension. I've looked everywhere I know to look, but something is not getting updated.
If it makes any difference the users I'm experiencing the problem with have been moved to a different extension or had the wrong extension initially.
Any ideas?

So what you are saying is, you use an LDAP profile in CUPC and you have changed the phone details in AD for a particular user. but then when you search for that user in CUPC, it finds that user, but does not reflect the change you have just made?
what attribute are you changing in AD, and what attribute is used in CUPS to display the phone number?

• URL Opens only the first Project in an Area

Hello All,
RoboHelp Server 8 & RoboHelp 8
I am getting ready to have our developers redirect our online help to RH Server instead of where it is currently housed.  I am interested in using the shortened URL:
http://<server-name>/robohelp/server?prj=<project-name>&area=<area-name>
I have two projects in each area.  When I test the URL for the first project in an area, it works successfully.  However, when I test the URL for the second project in the same area, it only re-opens the first project.  For example:
http://help.acme.com/robohelp/server?prj=Project1&area=Area1
http://help.acme.com/robohelp/server?prj=Project2&area=Area1
So when I click the Project1, it opens and is correctly pulling the right help.  Clicking the second URL, opens up Project1 instead of Project2 as it is supposed to.
It is like it only reads the first project in an area.  Is it cacheing somewhere?  Flushing DNS and clearing history doesn't do anything.
Someone please tell me the obvious mistake I am sure I am making.
Thanks in advance.
Julie

OK I think I have a solution to your problem. It appears that the issue is with the underscores in your project names. If you remove them you'll be OK to host both projects in the same area. Just rename your projects in RoboHelp and republish. You'll have to delete the old projects from the Web Administrator though.
If this works, and I've tested it myself so it should, may I ask you to submit a bug report to Adobe using the link below:

• Safari Opens to Wrong URL

Ever since I downloaded the latest Mac Office 2011 Service Pack, no matter what URL I list as my Home Page preference in Safari, it opens to another page that I never selected. Over 26,000 people have viewed/commented on this issue with no viable answers. What is going on here?

You may have installed the "Downlite" or "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the support article, you may also need to remove this item in the same way:
~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
The article refers to removing Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This malware is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
if it's not already checked.
