URL Reporting connecting to SAP R/3
Hello,
We have Crystal Reports that connect to ABAP Function Modules in our R/3 4.7 system as the data source. To minimize the number of user prompts, we use URL Reporting to pass all the required parameters for the report. The one thing we have not been able to do is specify data connection information in the URL. We currently get around this by setting the data connection information (SAP server, system #, client #, etc.) in the Database Configuration for the report in the CMC. The downside to this is that the report is now limited to running against a single SAP client.
Is there a way to specify the SAP connection information (server, system #, client #, etc) in the URL Reporting string? I know it can be done for SQL data sources through the USER- and PASSWORD- commands on the URL, but is there a similar way to specify SAP connection information?
Our reporting environment is BOBJ Enteprise XI 3.1, reports are developed in Crystal Reports 2008.
Thanks,
Byron Clairoux
Hi,
that is not possible. the connection is part of the report.

SAP Crystal Reports connection to SAP R/3
Hello Everybody,
I install SAP BO Enterprise Edition XI 3.1
SBOP Rich Client Tools XI 3.1
SBOP Integration Tool Kit XI 3.1
Java Connector
Crystal Reports 2011
I configured all the integration and it works fine, i can log on the Infoview with SAP ID.
I work with SAP R/3 4.6C
The problem is when i connect to the R/3, Crystal show me the system that i have in the saplogon.ini, and then i used a user that i have to test, whenn i tried to logon, an error occurs...
Logon failed.
Details: You do not have the necessary rights to design reports against the SAP system. Please check with your system administrator.
And when i used the user sap*
Logon failed.
Details: Name or password is incorrect. Please re-enter.
So... what do i need to pass that rights to my user??? or do i need to do some kind of customizing in the SAP R/3 system???
Thanks!
Edited by: Erick Fernando Nicolas Fernandez on Aug 10, 2011 3:55 AMThere is a specific set of authorizations that you need to provide to your SAP user to be able to create CR reports against SAP data source. Check in the "SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Integration for SAP Solutions Installation and Administration Guide" chapter 13 called "Authorization".
You can download this guide in the following URL: ht[http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700000559912010E/xi31_sp3_bip_sap_inst_en.pdf|http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700000559912010E/xi31_sp3_bip_sap_inst_en.pdf]

Getting No rights error in Crystal Reports connection with SAP ECC 6
I am ABAP/BI developer and would like to work in Crystal Reports 2011. Currently, We have SAP ECC 6 and BI 7 set up. I have installed trial version of Crystal Reports 2011.
I am getting error while trying to create blank report in Crystal Reports:
Create New Connection -> SAP Tables.. -> entered SAP Development server user id and password -> following error message :
LOGON failed
Details : You do not have necessary rights to design reports against the SAP system. Please check with your system administrator.
My user id has all rights in development server. So, is any special rights require? OR do we have to install any patch for Crystal Reports at SAP level?
Please guide me.Hi,
To be able to report off an SAP data source in Crystal Reports, request the SAP Administrator to set the appropriate authorizations for the user.
For a list of authorizations that are necessary for each type of SAP connection, consult the document:
BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Installation Guide
In the "Authorizations" chapter, there is a description of each authorizations needed for each type of connection and actions.
( The document is attached to this SAP Knowledge Base Article in the attachment section )
In addition to the authorizations specified in the SAP Integration Kit Installation Guide, the following authorizations are required:
For Authorization object: S_RFC with Field name: RFC_Name. According to the installation guide the values should be: SYST, /CRYSTAL/OPENSQL
Additionally you will need the value: SUSR as well.
For Authorization object: ZSEGREPORT with field name: ACTVT. According to the installation guide the value is: 02 (Change)
Additionally you will need the value: 01 (Create or generate) as well.
Thank you. -

SAP & Crystal reports connectivity
Hi SAP Gurus,
I'm facing a problem while connecting ABAP query & infoset from crystal reports.
I've installed crystal reports 8.5 and also SAP crystal report enterprise add on.
when i want to connect to sap system from crystal reports, it aunthenticate my username and password, but when i want to retrieve sap infoset or query, it stops me and show the message
R/3 Error
SYSTEM_FAILURE

Please help me, it's urgent.
Thanks,
Salahuddin.Ingo,
I've downloaded V 10 and installed it. But it does not display 'SAP' in 'other datasources', when i start creating report from crystal reports using other datasources.
When i downloaded V 8.5 addon, i 've installed crystal report v 8.5 and then installed v 8.5 AddOn. This atleast shows SAP menu in it. but when i start creating report from it, it displays same missing function module problem.
So in both version, I'm having problem. In V 10 SAP menu is not appearing and in V 8.5 SAP menu appears but missin function module problem. Is there any Addon for V 10.
Please guide me.
Thanks,
Salahuddin. -

GaneshHi
please ask your network admins if there is a firewall between your CR Designer installation and your SAP R/3 system.
I assume that you have imported the necessary trsansports in your SAP R/3 system.
Which kind of driver do you use for the connection to SAP R/3?

Unable to connect to "SAP Table, Cluster, or Function" in Crystal reports.
I cannot connect to "SAP Table, Cluster, or Function" in Crystal reports. The system gives such an error: Database Conection Error: Functional module "/CRYSTAL/GET_OSQL_OBJECT_LIST" not found.
Did anyone get this error? What can't be wrong with my system?Hi Sergey,
you must import some transports in your SAP R/3 system before you can access its tables. Have a look at the documentation of the int.KIT for SAP.
The transports are normally to be found in the install directory of your server installation of the BOBJ int.KIT for SAP. In the documentation is easy to identify those which must be imported depending on the system's type and version.

XL Reporter error Unable to Connect to SAP Business One DI API
Hi Experts,
Im getting this error on one of our clients' workstations.
They have SAPB1 2005A PL 31.
We've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the DIAPI and the whole client application as well. Same error.
It als gives an error after the initial error that says:
"Security Settings in Microsoft Excel prohibit XL Reporter from running."
Any suggestions?
Thanks!hi jairus,
To fix this XLR error 'unable to connect to SAP Business One DI API', do the following:
1. Go to control panel and uninstall SAP DI API
2. Run %temp%
3. Rename the folder SM_OBS_DLL
4. Go to the patch level package of the patch level you are using and install DI API. If you get a message that the installation already exists, ignore the message and proceed to install DI API.
XLR should work properly.
Best Regards,

Crystal Reports 2008 sp3 hangs while connecting to SAP BW
I've got CR 2008 12.3.0.601 connecting to SAP BW Netweaver 7.0 EPH 1 with a BOBJ Enterprise XI version 12.3.0.601 and when I try to connect / use the SAP open a query (integration kit portion of CR) I can see the querries but once I try to open a query CR hangs / the hour glass stays forever?
Any suggestions please.Make sure you have winrar installed on the machine and choose to extract the .exe contents in a directory (use the context menu). The transports are located under the Transports subfolder.
Use the Unicode version and check the documentation ( transports.txt ) to find out which transports you need to import ( for SAP BW you should import 9 transports).

Connecting Crystal Reports 2008 to SAP BI 7.0
Post Author: Anton Sack
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
Hi there, I tried to connect the trial version of CrystalReports 2008 to a SAP BI 7.0 system. So I have chosen "Login to Server" / "OLE DB Provider" and "SAP BW OLE DB Provider". Unfortunately, there are no settings to be made for servername and system number, but database and datasource. I do not know this information and I assume, that this is not the right way to connect. Do I need additional integration kit or something? Where can I doenload this? Thanks for any help! Best regards,AntonPost Author: R Dandu
