URL Scheme of Content Viewer Tablet

I'm looking for the URL Scheme of the public Content Viewer on the iPad. This because I want to link from one folio to another within the Content Viewer (trainings, demonstrations...). Is there a possibility to get this URL?

Adobe Content Viewer URL scheme

Hello,
Does anybody knows Adobe Content Viewer URL scheme?
We're working on a "proof of concept" for one of our customers, and we have to show what inter-folio links look like!
At this time, we use unpublished folios (they're only available in ACV) and would like to link ones to others using Bob Bringhurst advanced linking magic tips.
But we need ACV url scheme to do it...

You're right. We have a Pro DPS account and we can build as many dev apps as we want, of course. That's (unfortunately) not the point. We're working on a huge set of publications for one of our customer (it could count several hundreds of folios in a near future) but we're still in "beta phase". Testing features and deployment abilities is for us a crucial point. We have many points to be checked (interfolio linking is just one of them), and it would have been more comfortable for me to work on the whole stuff in ACV, that is more easyly usable "all over the world" for our customer and his partners (from USA to Singapore, through Europa) than a custom viewer...
But maybe it's what we'll have to do anyway...

How to open Viewer from other apps? - App 'URL Scheme' has disappeared from Viewer Builder!

The 'URL Scheme' option in the Viewer Builder did let me to specify a url that made other apps open my viewer. But this option has disappeared from the newer version of Viewer Builder. So. How do I do now to let other apps open my viewer?

Is there a spacial reason that the URL scheme option was taken away from ordinary Multi-issue viewers? It was there in earlier version. I'll explain our situation:
Our client want to publish corporate information; annual reports etc, with DPS. Not really magazines or newspapers you subscribe to.
We are making another app where they publish news articles, videos etc. In that app, we want to have a link which opens the viewer with their publications.
To make this simple thing work, we have to create a 'subscription' to content which is not relly good for subscribing (it is free and announced with push anyway). We also have to tell the client to create Privacy Policys etc for this. A lot of hassle for something we do not really want.
Any chance that this option will come back in v19?

URLs to specific articles in Web Content Viewer

I'm placing the Web Content Viewer on a custom site for free viewing of all articles in the folio. Is it possible to get a URL of individual articles that be links sent to people? So if there is an email blast, can there be a URL that will lead a reader to a certain article in that online folio? Thanks.

i have this informations :
my applicationName
my accountID
my publication Name
and my articleName (even if for this i'm not sure)
All my articles are free, my folio is published...
For information my folio is in PDF format with the resolution 1024x768
Have you one idea why it's doesn't work ?

Rather than cobbling together the individual parts of the URL, create a development app with social sharing enabled and at least one article set to free. When you share the article of the published folio, you'll see your web viewer URL.

URL scheme for an Windows viewer app?

Before sending this pos, I found a thread about URL schemes for Android and Windows apps.
Can I set a URL scheme for an Android viewer app?
Unfortunately, there was at that time (August) no plans from Adobe about adding this features.
Is there any change about that ? Could it be a gift for Christmas?

So this is doable assuming you have access to the native Android code in the app you are linking from. You can use the package name for your DPS Android application to launch it. You won't be able to use deep linking or anything like that, but you will be able to launch to the Library.
See the following github project as a reference for a Cordova / Phonegap plugin that does this for you (if you are not using Cordova / Phonegap, then I linked to the source as well). The Cordova Launcher plugin will let you determine if the device is able to launch an app via package. You can then decide whether you want to launch the app w/ the package or you want to push the user to the app store to download the application. Both of these options can be handled w/ the Launcher plugin.
If you want to push the user to the app store then use something like : market://details?id=[package name]

Opening a page of a Folio in a Multi-viewer app is possible by URL Scheme

I set URL Scheme on Multi-App by Viewer Builder.
It launches well by tapping the URL Scheme button on Web page.
Is it possible to open a page of a folio in a Multi-viewer app is possible by URL Scheme?

if you can find your app's actual URLscheme in the info.plist file inside the viewer, you can deep link into your articles (you also need the internal names of your folio and the articles), I find out here:

How to change account login in Adobe Content Viewer on Win8 Tablet?

Can you please tell me how I can change the account in Adobe Content Viewer.
At the right upper corner it states : Account: [email protected] but I cannot find how I can signout and login with another mail address.
We use another account to preview test presentations,
I hope anyone can help ;-)

Indeed , If I swipe from the right the Adobe content Viewer Settings tab appears and I can log out easily.

Content Viewer won't update file on tablet

Hello. My content viewer on my Nexus 7 won't update all the way. What I mean is, the app comes up fine, and I've refreshed/archived it several times. The logo/picture in the content viewer next to the file updates, the viewer number updates, but the file itself is still showing the original version.
Any ideas how I can fix this or what is going on? I'm working on InDesign CS5.5 and just recently installed the Content Viewer on my Nexus 7.

I am having the same issue in CS6 Indesign. I try to preview using the desktop viewer and nothing happens, it silently fails.
I have uninstalled Indesign CS6 (including preferences), Uninstalled adobe Air 3.3. Uninstalled the content viewer.
rebooted, reinstalled air rebooted, reinstalled Indesign CS6 rebooted...
And it still doesn't work!
I think it may be to do with AIR rather than InDesign because it goes through the progressbars in InDesign and I have previously a BETA version of AIR that caused an issue else where, even though this is now uninstalled and the latest release of AIR is installed it still is failing to comunicate with AIR.
Any ideas...

Custom URL Scheme not working? (as supposed)

I went into investigate about the "optional URL scheme" setting you can set up during building an app in the viewer builder.
Quote from the Viewer Builder help:

Specify the custom URL scheme that launches the viewer app from Safari and other apps. […]For example, suppose you specify “com.sportspub.kayaking” as the URL scheme. If you embed a “com.sportspub.kayaking://” link on your webpage, clicking the link from the mobile browser opens the viewer app. […]
The possibility sounds good, to link to the app from any web page you view on the iPad.
But during testing this, I found out it's not that easy and/or not working as documented.
Bob set the URL scheme for his app supposedly to
com.dpstips.may5
a link with
<a href="com.dpstips.may5://">
will not open Bob's app on the iPad ("invalid URL").
I looked into the compiled app from the viewer builder and found out the actual URL scheme used is completly different, it is
dps.7f80a0ffed3a4ff08734bc905aac4a29
and the correct link would be
<a href="dps.7f80a0ffed3a4ff08734bc905aac4a29://">
that will open Bob's app (you can try it here if you are on an iPad).
And if you know your interal folio and article names, you can even deep link into one article from a specific folio:

you see these links in the landing page of the web viewer on the iPad.

Unfortunately, you cannot find out your real URL scheme without extracting your .ipa file and investigate the content's of the viewer, it is listed in the info.plist file.
Is this supposed to work this way or is this currently a bug that might be fixed soon?

Felipe, I suspect you have some basic knowledge about nerdy stuff, follow
the pink rabbit:
(extract your developerviewer.ipa on a mac using extractor or sth.)

Android Content Viewer Errors

I am having a very hard time trying to get one of my apps onto the Android Content Viewer. Over the past two days, I have used two tablets (Samsung Galaxy and Nexus 7) to try and download my folio in the content viewer. It takes over an hour to download the issue and freezes or crashes as soon as it is about to install the folio. Out of nine attempts I have only successfully downloaded the folio twice.
Once the folio is downloaded it is extremely slow on the Android devices.
I am also having difficulties viewing attached PDFs on the Android. I originally have some PDFs in my HTMLResources with a URL button directing to the files (HTMLResources/file.pdf). In this instance the button opens to show a blank white screen instead of the PDF. I read on the forums that Android cannot work with PDF folios and PDFs in the HTMLResources. To fix this, I uploaded my PDFs to a server online and had buttons directing to the URLs, but once it is on the Android I still only get the blank white screen. All of my PDFs are multiple pages, so I can't make them into PNGs. I've tested all my buttons using the Folio Overlays Preview on my computer and know they all work.
I am extremly frustrated with the poor quality of apps for Android using DPS. I can't think of any solutions to my issues and my client wants thier app on the Android.
Please Help!

PDF currently isn't supported on Android devices, but it's planned for an upcoming release. Wait a couple of weeks and try your PDFs again.

Help! Slideshow Autoplay does not work on ipad content viewer.

I created a dps app using Adobe Creative Cloud on a PC running Windows 8. It has a multi-state object of text to fade in and out. It works properly on a windows tablet but not on my ipad. I'm aware this question has been asked before and I tried all of the suggested fixes and none have worked for me. Are there anymore bug fixes.

Darn, I was hoping you could read my mind, lol. The problem is I created an article in DPS that has 4 multi-state objects on one page. 3 of the multi-state objects (button-like icons that change color when you tap/swipe them) are set to tap to play, the 4th multi-state object, a slideshow with 7 states each containing text that's supposed fade in and out 1 by 1 on a loop, is set to Autoplay upon article opening. This all works great on the desktop preview and once its downloaded to Adobe Content Viewer on my Windows Tablet. However, when I download it to the Adobe Content View on my iPad and try to run the same app the 3 tap to play icon buttons work fine but the multi-state text Slideshow will not autoplay. It will only show the first state (which is a text box). I'm using Adobe Creative Cloud Indesign to create the article on a pc running Windows 8. I recently ran updates on my adobe software. Any insight???

Content Viewer won't update the library

Hey guys!
Big trouble here.
After I last updated an uploaded folio, the Content Viewer on the iPad out of the sudden was not recognizing any update on that folio anymore.
So I deleted the folio from the iPad and updated the library. What happened? The folio wasn't even there to download anymore. And yes, it appears on the Folio Producer and it is active.
It's quite a big folio (+100 mb) and I have even uploaded it again with another name and still the Viewer won't show it on the library.
I have tried to upload smaller folios and it worked just fine.
Have no idea what's the problem neither the solution.
Anyone with the same problem?

Problem resolved, with a bit of help from Adobe Support. It was Websense, our organizations web content filter. This is what I got from Adobe Support, which I sent to the IT guys.
In order for the content viewer on the iPad to work and bypass the network, make sure this two Adobe domain/url is allowed through the network.

Is it possible to open an folio at a specific page from external link using URL scheme?

We want to link into a folio from another app we are creating. We can open the Viewer app with the URL scheme we define in the app (e.g. com.name.app ). However this always opens the app on the home screen.
Ideally we'd like to link into a specific folio or even page within the folio. Is this possible by using some sort of querystring/identifier/anchor on the end of the URL scheme?

Can't log in Adobe Content Viewer on iPad only

Hello,
We made a folio and shared it with a client via digitalpublishing.acrobat.com.
The client created an Adobe ID, received an email from adobe and clicked on the link to check the validity of the email address.
He accepted the conditions on the Adobe site.
On an iPad, he can't connect to the Adobe Content Viewer.
But... it works very well on an Android tablet.
I asked the client to go to digitalpublishing.acrobat.com and accept the conditions, but it still does not work.
How can I solve this problem?
Adobe Content Viewer serves as our showcase for potential new customers that we are capable of doing. If I can't show it... I can't get new customers.
