URL with initial caps?

HI,
Published my website : www.sowecreate.com and the urls to the pages have an initial capital letter.
E.g : www.sowecreate.com/UK/Think.html
I cant seem to change this to lowercase and if I type the same url in lower case it comes with the following server error (xxxx is where the name of my hosting company goes) :
*Internal Server Error*
*The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.*
*Please contact the server administrator, xxxxxxxx and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.*
*More information about this error may be available in the server error log.*
*Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.*
Any ideas?
Cheers
Pete Burrows

This is one of iWeb's little quirks.
You can get rid of names by typing a completely different one, saving and then reverting to the original with the changes but your way sounds a lot quicker and easier!

  • Help with an initial cap issue

    I'm working along with iBooks Author and found something in my way. I have an unusual font I am using for a very large initial cap at the start of each new chapter. The font is .otf and with a color box under it to make the rest of the text move "off" everything is fine.
    Except....
    The font looks just like it's supposed to in landscape view, but when I check it in portrait it is not there at all. The first word of the chapter has no first letter at all in portrait view.
    Is there some way around this?
    THanks for any suggestions.
    Attaching image of how it does work fine in landscape.

    Hey Duane,
    So basically I guess my Linksys Wireless adapter that is in the upstairs computer is compatible with the AirPort Extreme Base and I dont need to get something to replace it because it is IEEE 802.11b or 802.11g standar. So it would work with the Base if I even got rid of the Linksys Router too? My dad wants to get rid of the router because he feels the hunk of junk is a waste of space and it is constantly cutting off our connection.
    I looked into what might cause interferences and we have a Microwave in the kitched (a floor above the computer) and other objects like Metal filing cabinets, and Refigerators to worry about. I guess they are somehow causing us to lose the frequencey.
    So I guess I am good to go with the Linksys Wireless PCI Adapter I have upstairs. I'll go and check the box it came in and hopefully it is WiFi certified (because apparently you need a WiFi Certified card in the computers in order for the connection to be strong).
    Hopefully the AirPort will work fine, and it would be better for the MacBook when I get it. Linksys is giving us problems and we want it fixed HAHA.
    Thanks again,
    Danny

    I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
    Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
    I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
    So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in  mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
    are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.
    I am starting to believe that Apple is Satan.

    I'm being shown an error pop-up message periodically saying "There was a problem connecting to the server. URLs with the type 'file:' are not supported." I have a brand new MacBook Pro, and at no time am I actually having trouble connecting to the server, but this message continues to pop-up several times a day at random intervals. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or is my computer just having a glitch? Other than that, and a mildly sticking caps lock button, it's working perfectly.
    Thank you!

    Alright it didn't solve it. Any other suggestions?
    I haven't suggested a solution yet. I want to know whether you still get the messages while Time Machine is disabled. Do you? If so, try any or all of the solutions proposed in this thread:

  • RRI: BEX query to webadress(is SRM ITS base URL with passing value to it)

    Dear friends,
    I am doing RRI from query to webaddress,
    i have defined jump(report type: webaddress and reicver report as url) from shopping cart bex query(SRM ) to webaddres.
    here url is SRM ITS base link for monitoring shoppingcart(http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN).
    jump is working from portal(from bex query ivew).
    but i want to pass value(shopping cart value) to above url and want to skip first screen.
    i have maintained assignment detail by assigning field name against shopping cart infoobject with type url parameter, but its not directly call reciver url with given input field.
    i tried the diffrent combination of url and field assignment as like below:
    1: web address url:http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN
    assigned field: GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID
    but when we call reciver url from portal bex ivew, only initial screen come with page url as below:
    http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN?GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID='selected number value'
    2: web address url:http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap(cz1TSUQlM2FBTk9OJTNhc3JtZGV2X0lTRF8wMCUzYUdxdFNqdWdMS2xyTEFEelFTNFlWTnJXRjEzdy05UnhTWXl4TW03c3AtQVRU)/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc/~flNUQVRFPTgzMTcuMDAyLjAxLjAx====#jump_to_selected_sc
    assigned field: flNUQVRFPTgzMTcuMDAyLjAxLjAx
    but when we call reciver url from portal bex ivew, only initial screen come with page url as below:
    http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap(cz1TSUQlM2FBTk9OJTNhc3JtZGV2X0lTRF8wMCUzYUdxdFNqdWdMS2xyTEFEelFTNFlWTnJXRjEzdy05UnhTWXl4TW03c3AtQVRU)/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc/~flNUQVRFPTgzMTcuMDAyLjAxLjAx====#jump_to_selected_sc?flNUQVRFPTgzMTcuMDAyLjAxLjAx='selected number value'
    I have seen the source code of that url(inital screen and after entring the value to that screen) too.
    how to call webadress(SRM ITS base shopping cart URL) with passing the one of field value of that url screen?
    Thanks and regards,
    Dushyant.

    Hi,
    i have replied wrong,
    i mean that
    when i am trying this,
    http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN&GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID='selected number value'
    with field assignment: shopping cart number = GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID (for drill down on particular field, i.e. open the URL with this field value entred from sender query's field shopping cart number)
    result is coming: http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN&GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID='selected number value'&GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID=10000456
    and when try this:
    http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN
    with field assignment: shopping cart number = GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID
    result is coming: http://(hostname):(SRM port)/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbp_mon_sc?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN&GS_HEADER-OBJECT_ID=10000456
    but not skiping the initial screen.
    Thanks.

  • Initial caps still missing. No, system preferences/keyboards doesn't fix the issue.

    This is getting old. When will Apple fix this issue?

    Agree with fruhulda and Peter.
    The hooks are in OS X to provide an Initial caps service via System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services > Text. When tied to a unique key combination, it fails to show up in Pages v5.0.1 Services menu. I suspect that this is because Apple did not include the AppleScript Text Suite dictionary and this inhibits any specific text item functionality at this time. Not too brilliant IMHO.

  • Why is initial caps gone from Pages 5?

    I just spoke with a senior Apple tech: he told me, "Mail Merge and Initial Caps are gone." He said he was told by the developers that "if enough people want those features back, they may do so."
    Am I the only one that thinks this is crazy?
    Come on, Apple. You can do better than this. We are talking about basic functionality here.

    That is such a broad question.
    What are you doing in your business?
    The major requirement for any business however is that you do not lose access to your documents or have them damaged.
    The answer to that question is without a shadow of a doubt: DO NOT USE APPLE FORMATS*.
    Not only are they proprietary, but Apple has on multiple occassions trashed not just formats but the files that use them. WITHOUT NOTICE or APOLOGY.
    Also all the new iCloud compatible file formats are bloated, fail to transfer via 3rd party servers and are in such a convoluted compressed package that to extract anything from them in an emergency is impossible.
    Apple has virtually no sense, or even consideration, of continuity or awareness of their customers' needs.
    Apple is extremely self centred and it is very difficult to get it to think of anyone else except as some abstract theoretical consumer who only exists in that fabled land outside Cupertino, where no-one actually goes, except on short vacations.

  • Why do I have to append URL with /index.htm on one KB?

    I have 7 different KBs I maintain on my webserver. I am using RoboHelp 7. For one of them, I have to append the URL with /index.htm, or it does not show the correct information. Examples of two of the KBs, and what happens with & without the index.htm appendeden
    I will happily provide any other information. I've been wondering about this for a long time, and it's finally driven me batty enough to ask. Thanks so much for any assistance. Greatly appreciate your input, this is a wonderful resource.
    http://wpa10suppliertest.am.mot-mobility.com/ opens a training KB for supplier information. See screenshot of the WebHelp Primary Layout:
    However, for http://wpa10user.am.mot-mobility.com/ if I do not append with http://wpa10user.am.mot-mobility.com/index.htm, I get no content, and the first skin I tried out. The settings are the same:
    http://wpa10user.am.mot-mobility.com/:
    http://wpa10user.am.mot-mobility.com/index.htm:

    Hi William,
    That makes sense - but I had looked at my IIS setups and they appear the same for all KBs, again here are settings for WPA Supplier & User. I created both the same day, the same way, and have compared all tabs which are identical. I can double check on how the DNS aliases that were set up, but they should have been identical as well

  • Printing different URL with javascript

    I am trying to print a URL using javascript but i do not want to print the current page. I have searched google, this forum and a javascript book and can not seem to figure it out. To exlplain in it generic terms i want to be on one page and tell it to print another. Reason being, I am looking at an overview page and want to print a report made in Oracle reports, (Yes I could load the report and print it but i want to print multiple reports from one button)(The reports do work and are valid) Here is a rundown of what I am doing.
    From a button i am calling a 'url' with the following code:
    javascript:V_PRINT('P50_CUSTOMER_ID','P50_YEAR');
    And then in the html header i have the code: (printing same page twice, just an example)
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function V_PRINT (formItem1,formItem2) {
    var formVal1 = document.getElementById(formItem1).value;
    var formVal2 = document.getElementById(formItem2).value;
    var url1;
    var url2;
    url1 = 'http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=' + formVal1 + '+' + formVal2;
    url2 = 'http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=' + formVal1 + '+' + formVal2;
    url1 = print();
    url2 = print();
    </script>
    This code just prints the current page. I know I am calling print incorrectly and thats where i need the help. Of course I might just be approaching it all wrong. Either way I hope someone with javascript knowledge can help.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    To print a page it has to be open in the browser since all it does it call the browsers print dialog.
    Here is one solution http://www.irt.org/script/508.htm and you can also try a iframe instead of a regular frame.
    If it's crossdomain request like your example here that might cause problems as well. There might be additional problems.

  • HT4901 I have HughesNet with a capped amount of Internet capacity. How can I use iCloud but adjust the time it is on to conserve my Internet allowance and not have to backup my information all the time????

    I have HughesNet satellite for an ISP with a capped amount of Internet capacity. How can I use iCloud but adjust the time it is on to conserve my Internet allowance and not have to back up my information all the time?

    Thanks Roger W1,
    Yes, I was using iTunes to sync over cable without problems since orinigal purchase in 2011 and using 10.6 w/o problem. There was an "update" in Nov 2012 that crashed the sync service. I went to the Apple Store and reviewed the problem with the Geniuses there. It was discovered at that time that the update included mandated use of iCloud but enough of the un-updated code remained that he was able to patch functions to allow Microsoft Office to still sync over iTunes.
    This March (+/-) there was another "update" to 10.6 that totally destroyed the patch that was in place so there was no sync service available between Microsoft and iTunes what-so-ever. Then recently, because of some unknown process, all my notes, contacts, and calendars were erased in both my Apple utilities and Microsoft utilities.
    After many hours of frustration I was able to recover most of the information to the Apple utilities only, but those were unstable. At my visit to the Apple store it was suggested that an upgrade to 10.8 might solve the stability problem. That it did but being connected to the iCloud all the time keeps using up all my Internet time and I have nothing left to check emails or do research.
    This, to me, is not my problem but one created by Apple. I have searched the Internet and support groups and there doesn't seem to be a solution.
    The "aircraft mode" turns off all other communication functions and is not acceptable. Neither is disconnecting/turning off Airport on my MBP.
    Thanks,
    Jay

  • How to read the param in an URL with an applet???

    Hi
    What you can do is, just get that URL in the web page. Like as we can get in the ASP. Store the required information in the variables and pass this information as parameters to the applet.
    Hope this helps!

    pretty sad

    ... this same name and password doesn't work as an administrators password when i want to download or change things.
    It's probably that your Keychain password is not the same as your login password. If you configured your computer to log you in automatically, you may not have used your login password in so long you forgot it.
    There is no way to retrieve the "login" Keychain password, but you can reset the Keychain from the Preferences menu: select it in the Keychain Access menu and select "Reset My Default Keychain". This will create a new, empty Keychain but the old one will be saved should you ever remember its password.
    The result of this is that you will have to supply passwords for everything that requires it, since without your Keychain they will no longer automatically fill themselves. However, once you supply them and store them in your new Keychain, they will be remembered.

    i have a new macbook pro 13" and every 6 minutes or so it pops up a window that says "there was a problem connecting to the server. URLS with the type 'file' are not supported". it never seems to cause any problems but is supremely annoying. how can i make this come to an end?

    I tried someone's solution of taking another external disc and plugging it in, then when it showed up and time machine asked if I wanted to use it or that someone might be trying to trick me, I chose not use it.  Then I  shut down my computer, plugged in the original Lacie, and rebooted the computer and all seems to work fine now-- the Lacie appears on my desktop and all seeems to be in working order. Who knows why or anything else,- as weird as it gets- but for now things seemed fixed--- maybe others can try this too-- it worked for me so far.
