Urxvtc not saving my history

If I press the up arrow in a spawned urxvtc terminal, it only shows the commands I used in the tty console, but never any that I used in the GUI (xorg)
It's really annoying.

Possible (temporary?) workaround here

My Mozilla 10.0.1 Is not saving the history of more that two days

Make sure that you do not use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the <i>Browsing History</i>.
*Tools > Options > Privacy: History: [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Clear+Recent+History
If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then check the settings for the Firefox application.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • Lync 2011 for Mac not saving conversation history on outlook 2011

I have MS Office 2011 on my MAC. I have noticed the conversation history is saved on the MS Lync History folder on the MAC. However the outlook mailbox folder called " conversation history "  is not updated with this info. Any idea what could
    be happening ?

    Hi,
For Office 2011 on MAC, the Conversation History isn’t stored in Outlook.
The conversation history is stored in the path: /Users/<username>/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Microsoft Lync History

  • Firefox is not saving my history at all - why?

In drop-down menu, it shows the last 10 places I've visited, but if I go to "Show all history", there's nothing there.
I can search for specific things in the history dialogue box, and then they come up, but I can't see where I went today, yesterday, etc.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • Mozilla is not saving my browsing history beyond the last 7 days.

On one of my 2 computers, Mozilla is not saving browsing history beyond the last seven days. On my other computer, it saves all my browsing history.
Is there a setting I need to change? Is there some other reason for the abbreviated history?

  • Safari History not saving recent searches

My Safari is not saving recent history. A few days ago my trackpad wasn't opening programs and now it seems to be fine. Now my preferences change every time I restart. Similarly, every time I reopen Safari, the newest history that shows is a few days old. For a few days now it's shown Friday the 17th (it's Monday now). I cleared the history and when I restart the application the history shows up like as if I never cleared it.
Any help would be great, thanks.

Repair Disk actions from the Install DVD
Did Disk Utility report that the disk, "appears to be ok" ?? The instructions at that link were to check the startup disk for problems, not repair permissions.
I didn't know how else to get to the user accounts
Open System Preferences / Accounts. You can access non admin accounts there.
If you haven't set one up, follow the instructions here.
Creating a new user account: 10.5
The reason we ask that users try another user account is to "test" Safari there. If you have the same "history" problems there with Safari, that's why you need to check the startup disk.

  • Firefox is not saving history even with remember history preference turned on.

Firefox is not saving history even with remember history preference turned on. I have tried reinstalling Firefox but this has not solved the issue. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

    * Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the Browsing History.
    * Make sure that the History is set to at least 1 day: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > History: "Remember visited pages for at least"
    * Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode (Tools > Stop Private Browsing is grayed, see [[Private Browsing]])
    * To see History and Cookie settings in Firefox > Preferences > Privacy, choose the setting "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history"
You can look at these prefs on the about:config page to make sure that you keep history.

  • Recently migrated to new laptop, backuped with FEBE. Bookmarks, History not saving anything since then

About a month ago I backed up my full profile and bookmarks from my old computer and restored/imported them into the new one using FEBE and the "Import and backup" tab, respectively. Both have the latest (18) version of Firefox. I followed all the steps to restore the old full profile into a new one, and then imported the bookmarks. So far so good.
At the beginning it was all fine, but about a week ago I realised I can't bookmark, nor see any history saved in the corresponding log windows. When I press Ctrl+D I don't get any window asking for confirmation to save the bookmark. When I try to make Firefox Show All History, I get a completely blank page. Nothing at all. I've tried disabling all the extensions to no avail. Still the same problem. I've tried closing and reopening Firefox, restarting the computer, same. I also checked the places.sqlite file, it's fine.
By the way, all the "Ctrl+Shift+B", "Ctrl+D", "Ctrl+Shift+H", "Ctrl+Shift+Del" options are in light grey, as if they had been disabled. On the contrary, the "Show All Bookmarks", "Bookmark This Page", "Show All History" and "Clear Recent History" ones are in black, as normal.
I've tried a few tentative solutions, none has worked so far. Please help. Thank you very much for any comments or observations.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

  • Firefox is not saving history what to do to save history?

firefox is not saving history even when remember history is selected and im not using any cleaning tools.
Only history visible is in recent closed tabs. So what to do?

    Hi
Please try setting the history to Use Custom settings for history and verify if the following are checked as per the image.

  • Texture attributes not saving with an Art History brush tool preset.

I am sure that in the past Texture settings saved when I loaded a saved Art History Brush tool preset.  But suddenly, the Texture setting - specifically Depth, is not being remembered.  In other words - I have saved an Art History Brush as a Tool Preset. I have then used some other brushes and experimented with texture including the Depth setting.  When I go back to the saved tool preset, the Texture Depth setting has changed to whatever it was when I last used it - not its saved value.  I thought the point of Tool Presets is that they save all brush characteristics.  Maybe I have got this wrong.
Help or info would be much appreciated.  I'm using CS6.
...this is weird.  The tool presets and their Texture attributes work fine in CS5.  Maybe I need to reinstall CS6.

...I reinstalled CS6 and imported old preferences.  The problem of reluctant attributes persisted after installation.  The answer appears to have been to reset the preferences.  Texture settings now behaving themselves.   I should have tried this first.  Oh well.

  • How can I re-open the restore pane that had my saved open windows after a crash? these are not in the history section

After a "unexpected closure", firefox saves the windows you are using.
This window did not re-open after an update/re-start (usually, all open firefox windows open after any restart).
My question is, how can I get this window open again? The visits are not in the history section. I have many, many windows that were marking work, so I need to have that list.

'''aj34977:''' While it is nice of you to make this comment, you might want to read my first post again. The answer you suggest is actually mentioned there, in my list of things that did not fix the problem.
This is not to diminish the fact that this worked for you (and no doubt many others) but there are already several posts about that particular solution and -- as stated -- this was about what to do when that (and several other proposed fixes) did not work.

  • Website addresses are not saved anymore in safari history. why?

Maybe after one the updates it happened that the addresses in safari are not kept in history anymore and I have write it down every time. Why?

Do you have Private browsing turned on? In Safari, tap the new page icon at lower right (looks like 2 overlapping pages). If in Private mode the word Private will appear in a white rectangle at lower left; if Private mode is off there will be no white rectangle around the word. The search/url bar is also darker grey in Private mode.
