US-122--can't seem to detect in Logic Pro

Hello All,
thank you in advance for any help you can give me. I'm having trouble having my Tascam US-122 work with Logic Pro. I've load the drivers and all but not sure what to do...any ideas.

you need to download the UB drivers from tascam:
http://tascam.com/Products/US-122/us122osx_3_40.dmg
this link will give you the correct driver.
install the driver without the tascam connected. then restart the computer. when your computer start to boot. plug the tascam in. you will see the lights on the tascam come on if it is recognized. when the light come on you will need to go into the audio midi preferences and change the all out puts and inputs to the tascam if you want your osx sounds and itunes to play through the tascam.
in logic select preferences/audio and change the driver to the tascam.
that is it in a nutshell...

It's either that Logic 8 is looking for the Rosetta emulation program or that Logic 8 was previously installed on this OS, in which case you will have to remove some preference files and install receipt.
I think the Rosetta emulation is downloadable for SL.

Alas, poor Logic, I knew him well.
Recording wise, It will be much the same as Garageband but you will need to read manuals as Logic doesn't set things up for you. You must choose input and output devices, create the correct tracks. Logic was designed for professional use so it expects users to be somewhat familiar with recording/editing techniques, in other words, won't hold your hand or be nearly as easy to use.

If you still have the receipt or other proof of purchase, you can ask Apple to send you the serial. Otherwise, bad luck mate.. Good news is, you can now buy Logic Pro 9 from App Store for just 199 USD

Where Can I download another copy of Logic Pro 9 for reinstallation?

Where can I download a copy of Logic Pro 9 so that I can reinstall it. I'm having so many problems with Logic I can not use it since I loaded Maverick. I tried to go to the App Store and then to Purchases and download it from there, but the message I got back was: "This Product is not available in US store."
Is there something that I am doing wrong?

You must sign in to the App Store application using the same Apple ID you used to purchase the AppStore version of Logic Pro 9 in the first place.
Then go to the Purchase tab and you will find it there.....
If you get such a message, when you click the download/install button on the far right of the LP9 entry under the purchase tab... sign out of the App Store within the Mac App Store aplication.. and sign back in again.. You probably missed signing one of the new Terms and Coditions... or you need to sign into a different server which happens automatically once you sign out and sign in again, from the App Store...

Virtual Game question ....can't seem to play on macbook pro

I can't seem to play a virtual game on my laptop, I got this laptop for my college. This virtual world game runs fine on my parents iMac and the iMac was a late 2009 24" 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo. 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3. My laptop specs are:
15.4 Macbook Pro 2010
Intel Core i5
4GB Memory
320GB hard drive1
SD card slot
Built-in battery (8-9 hour)b
Intel HD Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with 256MB
And the game requirements is:
Download for Mac OS X
vSide Mac OS X Client

I think those numbers are wrong ? but if correct this cause be a serious performance issue, a hard drive needs at least 10% free space left on it for normal function ... are you sure you're not reading the RAM figures ? Open a Finder window and at the bottom will be 'xxxGB Available'
SSD are very fast and quiet but they are expensive and offer lower capacity than normal internal drives. You can upgrade what you have to 500GB or if the right model/space to 650GB. If your drive is getting full I suggest you look at something like the Seagate 500GB 7200rpm kit from OWC for only $148

Can't find East West in Logic Pro 9

Hi guys!
I just bought Logic Pro 9 and a mac computer. I have never used a mac before. I have the complete composers addition of East West but can't seem to open any of the instrument in logic.
I have gone to the audio units manager and the engine play is in there. I've even clicked on reset and rescan' but when I go to insert an instrument it does not display any of the East West libraries.
Please help!!!!

You are probably running Logic in 64bit mode. All (new) plugins must be validated in 32bit mode before they will be available in 64bit.
Go to the Applications folder, and (with Logic NOT running) select the Logic Pro application. Press CMD i (Get Info) and check the 32bit box

Since logic express is discontinued, can i get the updates from logic pro for free?

logic pro was recently priced at 199, effectively replacing logic express. it seems as though apple should allow logic express users to get the additional functionality of logic pro withought buying the entire product again.

@Blueberry - lol I wonder if you'll sing the same tune if they discontinue logic pro and then force you to buy "logic studio" for $500 (current price 2012). See this guy's comment on the product page of the online store:

I had to do this as there is no version of LP9 that works properly in any operating system after SL.
OS 10.6.8 + Logic 9.1.6/7 is the most stable combo that will run on intel based Mac. Trust me.. I tried the rest. I would prefer to go back to logic pro 7 but once again No reverse compatibility.
Hopefully the 2software developers... Yes two... still working on logic will at least make it stable again so we can finish our mixes and move to another software manufacturer.

Can't Connect Snowball Mike to Logic Pro 8

I know I am not the first to post on this, but can anyone tell me what I need to be doing in order to use my Snowball mike in Logic Pro 8?
It automatically shows up in Garageband, however, Logic Pro 8 doesn't see any sign of it. I HAVE gone into Audio Midi Setup and have set up the Snowball as an aggregate device, but then how do I get logic to recognize it? When I launch logic pro, the Snowball doesn't show up anywhere in the Midi/Audio preferences windows...

Noone at apple or here seems to know the answer, so consider this abandoned...

Can jampack sounds be played in logic pro 8?

I upgraded to logic studio from logic pro 6 and now all my jam pack sounds are in garageband, but not in logic. I installed the jam packs to an external drive. Can the jam pack sounds be played in logic or do I have to play them in garage band?

seems like your instrument library folder for garageband has to be on your system drive, loops however can be on an external drive, but software instruments can not. I moveed the instrument library from my external drive back to the system drive into HD/library/application support/garageband

Hello there.
Is the upgrade from logic pro 7.1.1 to 7.2 still available out there somewhere? I know I'm a bit behind the rest of the world but financially I'm taking the 'do the best with what you can' route!
Never used logic before, moving up from garageband and cubase sx cos everyone says it's a better program.

If I remember correctly, the 7.2 update was a "Paid for" update, with a new dvd.... so you are most likely out of luck.
The good news is that Logic Pro is pretty cheap on the Appstore

Can't use .mid file with Logic Pro 9

I've been given a .mid file from someone I know but I'm not having any success trying to access the file in Logic.
The file should just contain a piano piece he had written.
When I first downloaded the file it automatically opened with QuickTime Player. I closed this then tried various ways of getting it into Logic. Firstly I went to File > Open, and chose the .mid file. This was the result:
"Damaged project or not a Logic Pro project!
"Search for fragments?
"Damaged projects might create problems and crashes!"
'Search' or 'Cancel'
When I click 'Search' I'm told:
"Read error!
"This is not a Logic Pro project!
"No tracks found"
'Continue'
So, is the file empty (no tracks found)?
Or, because it was not created in Logic, it can't be opened in Logic. (I think he is using a PC, not confirmed yet - I also don't know what DAW he's using, yet)
That's ridiculous though, I thought MIDI was a universal language?
I also tried dragging the file straight into a Logic project, which tells me:
"No tracks found"

Two ideas, have your friend check and make sure the mid file plays on his/her system.

If the mid file checks out good on his/her system have them compress (ZIP) the file and resend as it could have become corrupted during transfer. It can happen.
Your description of the file (zero length) sounds like it missed the last few bytes.

Can't import audio files into Logic Pro

I have some original compositions previously recorded on a Windows PC that I want to work on in Logic Pro. However, despite converting them to .raw, mp3, apple tiff and having the original file as. Wav, Logic Pro doesn’t recognise them; they’re all greyed out when I try to import or open, even though they play ok in I-tunes? How can I resolve this?

.raw is not recognized by Apple. What format is this? Is this an audio file format?
.mp3... well, if you like that kind of degraded sound...
.tiff is an IMAGE file format. Whatever made you think this would work?
I think you have renamed the file extensions one too many times...and the Apple machine is confused. Try starting over.
Also, try to look at the info pane for each file, and make SURE it is seen as a .wav file AND that the file is set to read / write, not locked.

Can't download a previously bought Logic Pro 9 from mac app store

I have just bought a new Mac mini, and I tried to download LP9 from the appstore (I had already bought it), but I can't find it in the "Purchases" tab.
I tried to get it from https://www.apple.com/fr/logicpro/ but when it launchs the mac app store says it's not avaible in my country...
I payed for it, so I'd really like to use it.
As I need it for tomorrow, a little help would be appreciate!

Can't download additional content in logic pro 9

I just recently purchased logic pro 9 and wanted to use the indie live kit. i found out that the indie live kit was missing and that all i needed to do was to download the additional content in logic. when i clicked download everything would download but at the end it would say failed to complete download. all i want is the indie live kit so if anyone knows how to do this it would be a big help:)

What version of Logic Pro 9 are you running? I ask because the latest version 9.1.8, has a fix for one version of this issue... that affected some people.. but not all by a long way.
Other than that possibility.. there is another reason found, that can cause this..
Quite a few of these problems with downloading the additional content (once Apple fixed another issue relating to this in 9.1.8 ) have been found to be caused by the user's ISP limiting the max size of any given single file being downloaded.... causing the Download file to 'timeout' or 'end' before downloading was complete. BT in the UK.... and Comcast, Time Warner and Verizon FIOS in the USA have all be reported as placing this limitation on some users accounts.. (and there are probably more ISPs that do this.. to apparently "prevent large download abuse.. " (whatever that might mean??)) and a call to them, asking for the max limit to be raised to at least 8GB has resolved this issue for everyone who has tried,...
Note: It did take a couple of Users... several tries to get through to the 'right' knowledgable support person, to get this issue fixed... normally only after their issue was raised with a Tier 2 tech... as the Tier 1 techs didn't know about the limits imposed on certain users and certain accounts..
