US Creative Music Store now in b

I just got my email announcing the beta launch of the US Creative Music Store. (Check your spam traps, folks; I had to fish mine out of there. Soundbuzz.com isn't exactly a known site to most US spam filters.)
It's largely as expected--backed by Soundbuzz (as are the existing Asia-Pacific stores), purchased files only, the usual 99c per track/$9.99 per album. The big news, of course, is that it's built into the current edition of MediaSource Organizer; just click on "Music Store" under Sources. (If it's not there and you're in the US or most Asia-Pacific countries, upgrade to the latest MediaSource.) It also makes a big deal of having "International and Asian songs"--as you might expect from a Singapore-based site, of course. (Yes, it's targeted at the US and sells in US dollars, but Soundbuzz, like Creative, is based in Singapore.)

Hi daniel, are you a new mod here?
I love asian songs (mostely anime and video games ones) Hopefully creative has some good ones in there store (hopefully i can check it out soon )

  • Music Store now a download, not a website??

What is going on with the Nokia Music Store?
It used to be a website where one could buy and download music. Now it is trying to force me to download and install a 70 Mb program to use it.
There is no help or contact details on the site anymore. Anything I do seems to keep coming back to a page forcing me to download this file.
I'm a bit upset about this because I have money in my account, now I can't spend it without installing something on my computer that I don't want.
The reason I used Nokia in the first place was because I didn't want a load of rubbish installed on my PC like iTunes.
Well, I'm going to use a normal website like Tesco.com to download music. Nokia have gone mad.

..Unfortuntaely there is, as this installation killed my windows media player and installed WMP11 runtime which I was purposely avoiding. Even setting a restore point and trying a rollback didn't avoid the upgrade, so I now have to reinstall windows.
    Don't say you weren't warned!

  • Music Store in iPhone 2.0

Because the App store will be available in Edge and Wifi, will the music store now also be available in Edge?

There is no indication that this is the case. Apple has long indicated that audio and video content synchronization will be available only via USB, and not via Bluetooth, WiFi or over-the-air carrier conduits such as EDGE. The special Starbucks iTunes Music Store is obviously an exception to this general policy.
In general terms, the Terms of Use of Apple Discussions prohibit any discussions which speculate about unannounced or unreleased products.

  • Moving and No Music store there

Hi. I'm moving from Denmark to Iceland and in Iceland there is no music store now. What can I do to still access all my songs that I've bought on Music Store. Last time I was upthere I noticed that I can't listen to those songs. I get this frame to log on and then I just get the box that says "can't access Music Store" Is this just lost money or what.

Your computer should remain authorized, but even if it's become deauthorized (or you have a different one), you should be able to still log on and access the Danish iTMS from Iceland. If you can't access the Danish iTMS, most likely it's a firewall problem, either on your system or on your Internet connection.
Note that if you no longer have a Danish credit card, you won't be able to purchase any new tracks. But your old ones still should work.

  • Downloaded Update, now cannot access Music Store

We've been able to use the s/w without incident. Today, we were prompted to download your update. We did.
Now when we attempt to access the Music Store, we get a popup with the following:
iTunes could not connect to the Music Store.
Make sure your network connection is active and try again.
MY NETWORK CONNECTION IS JUST FINE - IT'S YOUR DOWNLOAD THAT'S THE PROBLEM. IF I UNINSTALL YOUR S/W AND REINSTALL USING THE CD-ROM, WILL WE LOSE THE MUSIC WE HAVE PURCHASED THUS FAR?

If you have any probs with getting into you music store after downloading a new version of itunes you have to configure your personal firewall in Norton. To do this - Open you Norton Internet Security, click on Status & Settings, go down to Personal Firewall and click on Configure...Click on the Programs tab at the top, in Manual Program Control, scroll down until you see itunes, click on the arrow next to it (it might say BLOCK ALL right now)...Change this to PERMIT ALL... and you should be good to go!! good luck all!

  • Want to access iTunes music store but not in a 'valid' country

Hi, I'd really appreciate any help anyone can offer. I want to be able to buy music and videos for my new iPod and I have registered online. When I go to buy something with my credit card from the iTunes store, apparently you have to have an address for your credit card and a list of country's excluding Australia comes up. The problem is there is only about a dozen countries on the list and mine is not one of them so I can't pay by credit card. What can I do???

I really wish I was informed when I bought my ipod, that Itunes music store is not available in NZ and we don’t know when or IF it is going to be. Am feeling totally ripped off as one of the reasons I bought my ipod on Sunday was so I could download Audio books off itunes for when I am travelling. Now I go online and find out that I cant even download a measly single let alone a audio book.
Was feeling so excited about having my ipod and now just feel ripped off and extremely disappointed with Apple and the Apple salespeople. You are told how great itunes is and how you can download video, songs, books etc (when you are buying your Ipod) then once you have paid you $579+ (just for the ipod, let alone another $300 on accessories and warranty) you find out you can't download anything from itunes. Am pretty disgusted really! I researched my purchase, was going to go for a CREATIVE merely so could access NZ download sites, but was talked out of it by the sales person who showed me itunes and how great it is and I do think the IPOD itself is fantastic but wish I had of bought that CREATIVE so at least then I could have downloaded songs; books etc immediately. Bad Form from Apple, particularly given the amount of money I just spent :(((

  • Can't see TV shows purchased from Music Store in Full Screen Mode

Prior to the release of iTunes 7.0, I had been purchasing episodes of LOST from the iTunes Music Store and watching the episodes on my Mac in Full Screen viewing mode.
Since downloading iTunes 7.0, I have been unable to watch any television shows purchased from the Music Store from that date forward in Full Screen mode. When I select iTunes>View>Full Screen I can hear the audio, but I cannot see the image. Instead, my monitor goes totally black. If I select iTunes>View>Fit to Screen, I am able to see the video, however, the video does not fill up my screen...instead, I have about two inches of desktop showing on either side of the image. Does anyone know how to solve this problem so that I can once again watch purchased television shows in Full Screen mode?
By the way, I am now running iTunes 7.0.2.
Power Mac G4 Tower   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Alan, I just checked and I don't see a section for TV shows in the Canadian store. As the initial deal was made with ABC, I doubt that there is any content available yet for you. I do see the pixar section and the music video section, however.
Similarly, a visit to the Apple Canada site shows no mention of being able to download TV shows.
As with the music, it is going to take a separate lisence to bring TV content to each store. If and when that is going to happen, no one around here would be able to say.

  • OVI Music and Nokia Music store login issues

    Hi,
Yesterday Nokia rebranded Nokia Music store to OVI Music in India. Earlier I had Nokia Music Store account as OVI login was not supported in Nokia Music store.
So my Nokia Music account and OVI login were different.
Now when login to music.ovi.com and select India as country , I am asked to login.
I can login with my OVI id but then dont see remaining tracks and download history.
I login with my older Nokia Music account and I can see remaining tracks and History.
Some of my friends report that in their case , their Nokia Music and OVI account are merged and tracks and history details are still there. But this has not happened in my case.
Please let me know when Nokia will be able to merge 2 accounts for me. or is there any way I can do it myself? I know that similar thing happened for OVI share and Sports Tracker accounts but they were eventually merged with single OVI account.
    Best Regards,
    Suyog

I have replied this in other thread too-
"Me too having same issue, i got an email from nokia music that our older usernames have been changed with OVI at the end of old username and password remaining the same. As soon as you receive this email u can see your download history of earlier . and i tried to login by my friends account too by putting OVI at the end of username, the balance of tracks was there but download history is not there. So i think we all have to wait for that email to come from nokia music care to confirm about our account being updated with download history."

  • Access to ITunes Home Page and Music Stores in Other Countries

In the past two days, I haven't been able to access any
other ITunes music store except the US and only when I press
music and not the little house (home) symbol.
As I am an independent musician and my tracks sell on ITunes
in US and abroad, I've been checking on how my tracks,
particularly, Senza Fine, are doing in other countries
(which top songs are currently posted on my Itunes webpage).
But in two days I can't seem to access the home pages of
countries other than the US, and I'm wondering why the
"Could Not complete the Music Store Request--the Store
may be busy" BOX keeps coming up. My internet connections
    seem fine.
Other than that, I think ITunes is the best. I'm also happy to see the Starbucks connection and availablity of dvd's.
    Thank you for any input,
    Elyse O

I just fixed it, thanks to another poster's info. I had to
uninstall my old ITunes and 70.2 Quicktime and install the

access to all files, all countries.

Also, some software that you install on your computer can affect the way your computer sends and receives information from the Internet. A few examples of this software are:
    * Firewalls
    * Internet security software
    * Privacy filters
    * Web accelerators
    * Ad filters
If you cannot use the iTunes Music Store, try disabling this software temporarily to identify the culprit. Then, please refer to the documentation that came with the software to allow the iTunes Music Store to connect to the Internet. For your reference, these domains need to be permitted to send and receive data from the Internet:
    phobos.apple.com
    phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net

Thank you for your response. I am curious to know why if iTunes does not
answer non technical questions, why I received information when I replied to this
email. Listed below are the previous threads providing technical information.
Furthermore, if this is email is for billing disputes, I would like to have
my Mastercard credited $25.87 for a "gift this purchase/tv show" that I
purchased for my uncle on Christmas Day. I purchased the full first season of Monk.
I previously sent an email requesting credit on approximately January 2,
2006, and failed to receive a response. He never received the gift, or any
instructions about how to download the tv show, and I do not show a credit
appearing on my credit card. I would like to have credit for services not received.
Please credit the following card #XXXX

    Dear Emily,
Thank you for contacting the iTunes Music Store. Use the steps in the
following article to troubleshoot your connection problem.
I have been unable to connect for more than 24 hours on Windows.
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Music Store for more than a
day—and other customers on our discussion boards aren't experiencing similar
issues—a software or ISP configuration issue may be blocking your access to
    the iTunes Music Store.
    • Your copy of the iTunes application may be out of date.
    • If iTunes is out of date, it will not be able to connect to the
iTunes Music Store. You can download the latest version of iTunes from our
    website: ?http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    • You installed a third-party anti-virus or personal firewall
    application.
    • You will need to configure your software to allow iTunes to access
the Music Store. You can contact the software manufacturer if you have
questions regarding configuration. Click here for more information.
    • You upgraded to Windows XP Service Pack 2.
    • Windows XP Service Pack 2, by default, enables the Windows Firewall.
As with a third-party firewall, you will need to configure Windows Firewall
to allow iTunes to access the Music Store. Read this document for more
information. If you have further questions about configuring the Windows Firewall,
    contact Microsoft's Service Pack 2 hotline at (888) SP2-HELP.
    • You upgraded to a high-speed or wireless Internet connection.
    • A new DSL or cable modem, or even a router, could be the culprit.
These devices allow your computer to access the Internet at a much higher speed,
or route your connection to multiple computers. However, they can also expose
your computer to hackers. To help prevent this, manufacturers of these
products often install firewalls to prevent hackers and viruses from compromising
your system. Although this layer of protection is beneficial, there are
occasions when a device may determine that the iTunes Music Store is a threat to the
computer. If this is the case, you will need to configure these devices to
allow iTunes to access the Music Store. Contact your ISP or the device
manufacturer if you need help configuring your device.
    • You switched to a new ISP.
    • If you didn't install new networking hardware, your ISP may be
blocking access to the iTunes Music Store. Let your ISP know about this document
which can help your them configure their servers to allow iTunes Music Store
    traffic through.
    Sincerely,
    The iTunes Music Store team

The error message I am receiving is "iTunes cound not connect to the Music

connect to the music store for at least 3-4 days. I have been using iTunes
since last October, successfully. I checked all my network connections & they
are fine. I am able to connect to AOL. I even uninstalled and reinstalled
iTunes several times, all successfully, but I am still encountering a problem.

Nice, effective customer service. I'm at my wit's end. I field customer service calls, and answer emails at work, and the general responses from the iTunes response library are ridiculous. Especially, after emailing me twice technical support emails, they tell me they do not handle technical support questions...
Any help or suggestions as to how I should respond to the next email is helpful...
I also forgot to mention I have been able to connect to iTunes since October 2005, and have been unable to connect for almost 2 weeks now. And, yes, I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes. I was advised over the phone to upgrade to XP Service Pack 2, but it looks like SP2 has issues. ANd, no, I did not download SP2, because the customer support rep admitted he knew nothing to very little about iTunes.
    Emily

    Emily,
thanks for your posting, it just reflects my experience (although I didn't contact the helpdesk, but after what you wrote I think I can skip that part). I am livin in China and buy from the German MS, worked fine until about a week ago when the download of an album stopped just after 5 songs. I have never been able to connect to the shop ever since.
The interesting thing is, that I get a response from their server in the domain phobos.apple.com (phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/storeFront) which I would interpret that there can't be a problem which they always list (Antivirus, Firewall etc...)
So will there ever be somebody from Apple who is going to give a better explanation how to solve the problem ? Or are there already too many people buying iPods and music ???

  • Help - I can't connect to the Music Store anymore

Today I have had the message "iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was reset." This was after it tried for a few minutes. Everything else - playlists, accessing Gracenote CDDB for CDs, playing my songs - seems to be working fine. (It's iTunes 6.0.4).
It's seems to be suggesting I have an internet connection problem, but I don't! Safari, Mail, limewire, they're all working fine.
It all happened after I pressed the 'See All' arrow next to the 'Just For You' selection on the front page (which I've never tried before). Earlier today I had a problem with one CD which wouldn't read one track properly which meant I had to 'force quit' iTunes, but I was able to access the Music Store when I relaunched, or at least the front page anyway.
Since then I have repaired permissions, restarted, but the problem is still there. I have tried other user accounts and the problem is in all accounts. I have had a look in /Library for Preferences or Application Support folders at the System level that might be the problem, but there aren't any. What do I do now - reinstall iTunes 6 (if I still have the DVD)? What happens to all my playlists and songs and purchases and previews etc if I do that?
    iMac G5 17" 1.5Gb RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Ok, this is an update and then I'm going off to bed, so if anyone has any bright ideas I will see them first thing.
I now wonder if limewire may be the problem, even though it is 'listening' currently on port 33782 which is nowhere near to iTunes or anything else for OS X. Why? Because up until today, I could only connect to limewire during the daytime - evenings and weekends it wouldn't connect and discussion forums suggest that tiscali (my ISP) is one of the worst offenders for blocking UDP traffic at peak times and may be specifically targeting limewire. Today, when I have had the problem with iTunes Music Store, I have been able to connect to limewire all day and all evening, no problems.
However the problem with this theory is that when I could connect previously to limewire only during the day, I could still connect to the Music Store as well at the same time. So it may be irrelevant.
I have checked everything else from the article - the discussion boards, keychain access, firewall, it all checks out. So if anyone has any ideas about this, I'd be very happy.

  • 2nd Gen (Touch Wheel) won't play audio book from iTunes Music Store

    I have a 10GB Touch Wheel iPod (2nd Gen). Software version 1.5.
I recently purchased the unabridged version of The DaVinci Code from the iTunes Music Store. The 7-part audio book plays just fine on my iBook and on my daughters' Nanos but it does not play on my older iPod.
What happens when I choose the first part on my older iPod is that you can see it cycle through parts 1-7 without playing anything and then returns to the main menu.
I don't have problems with other music or previously purchased audio books.
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

I figured it out on my own... somehow my device got switched to "shuffle" mode. I have no idea how that happened, but there you go. Since I never use it in that mode, it never occurred to me to check that. Sigh. I switched it back to 'play in order' mode and now it is just fine.

  • Can no longer connect to music store

I'm not sure what happened. After I did a clean install of WinXP, I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and connected to music store and bought some music. I couldn't burn it onto a CD. I uninstalled everything, re-installed the original iTunes from the mini CD, and now it won't connect to the music library anymore.
Does anyone have any idea what the heck happened?
    Please help,
    Thanks
    Nancy

Nancy, welcome to discussions! Since this is a connection issue with the store & not a problem with your mini, I would suggest you re-post in the iTunes for Windows forum, under the sub-section "using iTunes music store".
