US firmware on european

Did someone try to load the new US firmware on the European Zen?I've read that in the European firmware there is a big volume restriction not present in the US firmware!

I have a ZVP, and you can change firmware between US/EU/Asia versions. There is no restriction.
In order to remove the EU volume restriction, you have to delete the existing EU firmware before upgrading, otherwise the (e) does not go away. I guess it is stored in a different part of flash which is only cleared when you delete the firmware, rather than just running the upgrade executable file.
***WARNING***
DO NOT delete your firmware unless you can successfully update the firmware without deleting. Try it first and make sure it works BEFORE you delete the firmware. Otherwise you could end up with a ZVP shaped paperweight...

  • Zen V Plus: Software barrier against installing US firmware on european devic

Well well... After the "display darkening devil" caught me, I just decided to buy a new player because I need this thing frequently when I'm on the road. Now I've got a Zen V Plus but there is a DIFFERENCE. "Sure, the FM Radio!" True, but there is another one. I was able to use US Firmware (the one without the 'e' at the end) on my Zen V (without PLUS) when the display was still functional. But now I get "Upgrade Failed!" error - so am I right that the PLUS version checks for EU devices and denies installation of US firmware (NB: The US version lets you make the thing a bit louder, because it does not have to comply with brain-dead EU rules system.)

  • Firmware for N

Hi, I am new there and I need a little help. I already read discussions on this forum but I couldn't find solution to my problem.
I have mp3 player Creative MuVo N200, bought in Europe. The version of firmware is .2.0 and I am looking for a better and newer firmware. Should I upgrade it to newer version? Which version of firmware do you recommend for N200 (pros. and cons.)? I tried to download newer US firmware (because European has loud limiter) from nomadworld.com, but I couldn't find it in support list. Which country should I choose then? And the last question: is there any chance to reload previous firmware, if newer one doesn't work good?
    Thanks for help,
KrnekiMessage Edited by krneki on 0-28-2005 0:8 PM

Versions .5.0 and .6.02 both have support for 3 levels of sub-folders so the player can sync with WMP 0 - this is good!
They also both change the volume scale from -40 to -25 with the of the new scale being equivalent to the 5 of the old scale - this is bad as the player is too loud at the lowest volume setting for listening at night in a quiet room!
Version .6.02 also adds support for Thai characters but I doubt if you'll need this!
If you don't need 3 levels fo sub-folders I would stick to .2.0 as it doesn't need the player to be put into Recovery Mode which is causing problems for some people.
Don't download from NomadWorld - use the US version of .2.0 to get round the European volume limiting.
You can reload earlier firmware but you might need to use Recovery Mode to do it if going back from .5.0 or .6.02.

  • N80 Gallery Bug introduced in firmare 5.0719.0.2

In case you guys from Nokia didnt notice it yet ...
There was a new bug introduced into the Gallery application of the Nokia N80 with Firmware 5.0719.0.2.
    The bug looks as following:
If you open the Picture Gallery there simply wont be any pictures or videos shown (from both internal memory and memory card). All one can see are the two weblinks in the gallery.
Only thing that help to bring the Gallery back to normal condition is to reboot the phone.
Several people who have upgraded to 5.0719.0.2 have this problem. And it definitely was not there before in any other Firmware Version 3.x or 4.x.
Is Nokia already aware of this bug and will fix it in a future firmware release? It really annoys me a lot. So much that i already think of buying a new phone from another manufacturer.
Besides ... Why doesnt Nokia release the 5.0725.0.1 firmware for European N80s? Maybe the bug is already corrected in this newer firmware...

    Hey
To tell the truth this is one of the most common most annoying and of course older bug from N73, N80, N91.
Later nokia introduced new gallery in N93, N93i and N91 8GB.

You will need to contact Creative Customer Support regarding the old firmware (unless the guy that once posted it himself still has it). The original non-MTP firmware on European Sleeks was one-of-a-kind; the only Sleek firmware Creative has ever released for download is the current MTP version (2.0.03), which requires the updated applications you installed.
Alternati'vely, Customer Support could help you with the current software and firmware. Unfortunately, there's not many reports of organizer sync problems. (The only items I've put into my Micro's organizer were ones I hand-keyed myself from the software; they transferred properly.)

  • Megaview 566 European Version - Newer Firmware

    hello,
i´ve got a Megaview 566 in Germany where i live. Its called "Medion MD96000", "Medion MDVID 120" or "Micromaxx MDVID 120" here.
After some websearch i found out that it is the MSI Megaview 566 but with a different firmware. The latest firmware on the MSI-server is 1.261t.42 but the one i bought in Germany has firmware-version 1.274m.44 but you can change it with the original MSI firmware and back. It has support for languages like german, english, french, dutch and italian and looks quite differrent (menu-structure, loading-screen) from the original MSI firmware/software. So my question is, WHO programmed this firmware and is there a chance to get an even newer one from the company which made this (european)version (f.ex. with DIVX6 support a.s.o.)? The support of the german vendor is just lousy, there isn´t even this product on their website and the german MSI-Company does not sell the original Megaview 566 in Germany.

Please give me your email address, I will send the email to you with MS-5566 European edition!!
MS-5566 didn’t support DivX6 format, you can go to MSI website to view spec description!!

  • 1.1.3 firmware and low volume (European model)??

Anyone know what happened to the max volume for the iPod-part of the iPhone since 1.1.3? The volume is so low, the iPod is pretty much unusable.... Checked all max vol settings and stuff, it just got a LOT quieter... this *****. Anyone knows a way around this, or whether this is been worked on?
    Thanks,
    i.

Try a Reset first by pressing and holding the Home key and Sleep/Wake or On/Off key simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so. This does not affect any data or settings.
If no change try a Restore.

  • When are you planning to release a new firmware fo...

When are you planning to release a new firmware for the N95 NAM?
I am tired of waiting for the automatic screen rotation on the N95NAM. This feature is aleady available in the european version.
I switched from an iPhone to this nokia, and now i have second thoughts. Nokia seems to be the same as apple.
Do you guys know anything about a new firmware?

No one from Apple will respond. We're all just fellow users here. And all that Apple has announced thus far can be found in the press release:
    http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2012/03/07Apple-Launches-New-iPad.html
Beyond that, no one here knows anything about future release dates.

  • Help! I installed the wrong firmware and now can't access the camera to change it back!

I have done something silly and wonder if you can help to get me out of a fix. Yesterday I upgraded the firmware of my camera and I can no longer see the camera on the network, even when it is connected by a wired connection. I have tried a hard reset but that has not helped.
I now realise that I have upgraded with firmware via a link from the US website and it is a different firmware version to the UK site. It is also designated as a  RoSh version (although I do not understand the significance of this). Presumably US networks are set up differently to EU ones?
I upgraded the firmware from version 1.10 to version 1.25 (RoSh). The European firmware upgrade is designated as version 1.21.
The only way forward that I can see is to find a network that will recognise the camera and then change the firmware back to the European one.  Any ideas?

Whats the Model number of your Camera. As you have uploaded the wrong firmware of your Camera. I think you can download the Latest firmware from the European website and upgrade the firmware of your Camera using TFTP tool utility.
Go to ftp.linksys.com/pub/network... and download TFTP.exe File on your computer. Once done connect your camera to the Computer and provide a Static IP to your computer.
Double click the tftp.exe file and click run :
For Server- Enter the IP Address of the router that you assigned.  By default, the router is 192.168.1.115...
For Password- Enter the password you assigned the camera. By default, the camera’s password is “admin”.
For File- Click the triple “…” button and browse for the .bin firmware file...Click Upgrade button to start upgrading.  A progress bar should show up to show the progress.
Once the Upgrade is done press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your camera, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your camera...

  • How to get more volume on european ZEN mic

    Hi folks,
I am using an european ZEN micro which has a quite low max volume. It's hard to listen to it in the tram filled with school kids :smileysurprised:
I heard that the max volume of the EU iPod is limited due to some special laws. Is that also true for the ZEN? And is there any possibility to get rid of this limiter?
    DuffyDuck

I was really pleased with my ZMP which I have had for about 6 weeks now. However I made a train journey recently and found that the volume was not sufficient to overcome the background noise on the train. I also found I need to turn up the volume on my car stereo whe using my cassette adaptor.
I found a few posts on this forum regarding the European firmware, and the belief that it is volume-limited. I downloaded the US firmware from the Creative website and flashed the ZMP. I can confirm that there is a considerable volume increase with this firmware, and I recommend it to any European users who are looking for a boost to the volume on their player. The usual caveat applies about upgrading firmware at your own risk. Make sure you know what you're doing before you begin.
Now, I don't need the ZMP above about 4 when listening in a quiet environment, (max volume is 25), and it is now balanced with the radio volume in my car when using the cassette adaptor, so no more blasting of the radio when I eject the cassette adaptor, since the ZMP is driving the adaptor at a better level.

  • Satellite A210 - can't write DVD-DL - need firmware for LG GSA-T20N

I have problem with my DVD drive... I can't write DVD-DL discs (DVD+DL too).
I'm looking for a firmware for my drive.
On Toshiba Support I can find only firmware for Pioneer and Toshiba (TSSTCorp) drives.
Lg says that Toshiba should have newest firmware.

    Hi
I checked the Toshiba European driver page and found tree different firmware updates for TS-L632H, TS-L632 and TS-L632P but there is no update for LG GSA-T20N.
If you are not able to burn the data on some double layer disks then you should try different brands.
As far as I know your user manual should contains some details and information about the supported and compatible disks.
    Check it!

  • Problems with Time Capsule after upgrade to 10.7.5 & firmware on Time Capsule

I got a software update to 10.7.5.   There was also a firmware update to Time capsule.  It won't work now.  I get the error message of (-1).  They tell me it's a Western Digital software driver.  I never had a western digital drive, but must have migrated the driver from an older computer.      I did have an Iomega drive on that computer, but no Western Digital.
Support has not been able to help me.    Any suggestions?

I've worked on this over the weekend with Apple Support.   I'm now on my fourth advisor, who is a tier 3 resource. Over the weekend I've downloaded the patch, erased the Time Capsule, reset it to factory settings, plugged it into ethernet, renamed the Time Capsule, the airport network & my computer and still don't have a functioning Time Capsule after a very 'Microsoft' weekend of waiting for several backups to bomb.
The only reason I'm on Lion is that I was a MobileMe customer and wanted to keep my email address.   I'm now thinking of getting a personal domain email, i.e. [email protected], dumping iCloud which really doesn't have any value to me, and in fact has less functionality that I need than MobileMe had, and reloading Snow Leopard.
That, or I can stop trying to fix Time Capsule, use third-party local drives until Apple gets around to fixing Lion.
Another 'feature' I've also discovered is that I can no longer take a Pages document and send a Mail message converting the document to PDF reliably.   It now works some of the time.
I've been one of 'the faithful' who's had Apple products since 1987 and loved them.   I stuck with Apple through the 'Soda Jerk' years and that european dude.   I'm hoping that Lion is some weird product anomaly and that Apple will improve it's product quality to where it used to be.    Also, not force people into product upgrades by not restricting features on new releases like Mountain Lion to machines less than 3 years old.   There really will not be any place else to go unless Google gets into hardware.

  • How do I get the international firmware for my Vibe x2 CU

Guys, I've bought the Vibe X2 in china to use in Brazil... The cel only works in 3g.
I'd like to try to install the european or international firmware to test if it work.
Do you know if it is possible to install this new image? Where can I find this firmware?

There are similar issues of posts and  complains about current version 1.0.04. I think Linksys does listen to all of this . So , my question to Linksys support is why you keep insist users to use the new version and did not try to dig in & understand & solve this problem. At least , Linksys should provide the last 3 recent versions for people to try .

i got some questions about the .0.03 firmware.

    and the
    ZenMicro_PCFW_US__0_03_PDE.exe ,8 MB 08 Dec 04 ?
Does "US" means that this is the north american version ?
    So what is LB ?
    2) I've got the "ZenMicro_PCFW_US__0_03_PDE.exe ,8 MB 08 Dec 04". Is there any use of upgrading to the one from 8 Feb 05 ?
    3) ZenMicro_PCFW_US__0_03_PDE.exe
Does the "E" at the end means "european", so the loudness is reduced ? Must be something different because it's also included in the firmware from the american site.Message Edited by Baron on 02-20-2005 09:0 AM

From what I've picked up elsewhere in the forum, the LB version of the .0.03 firmware just includes MORE LANGUAGES (for the user interface, i.e. menus) than the US version of that same firmware. see : http://forums.creative.com/creativel...essage.id=2374 ... which, really, you should have found using the search function, before posting. --Fred.

  • Zen Micro 2.20.05 (Audible) firmware has "battery drain" f

Since nobody responded to my questions about whether or not the "Audible firmware" for the Zen Micro (2.20.05) also applied the long-awaited "battery drain" fix for MTP/Janus users, I decided to test it myself by upgrading the firmware (even though I'm not an Audible user), then shutting it down and waiting 4 hours. I'm happy to report that my Micro "cold-booted" from the Creative copyright screen, just like ..0. So those of us that need subscription support (or Audible support, for that matter) no longer have to deal with the "battery drain" problem!!!
Since Creative still hasn't posted this firmware here, I'm reposting the link to it on the Audible site (as posted in an earlier thread):
    http://download.audible.com/creative...le_2_20_05.zip
Download the file, then connect your Micro, open the file, and run the EXE file inside.
Audible users should also download and install the latest AudibleManager, as described in this thread (this step isn't necessary for non-Audible users):
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=88333
Since I have a third-party charger, I'll test it with my Micro later on to see if ..0's "locked charging" feature works with 2.20.05 as well. (It won't work right now because my Micro is fully charged.) I may also test to make sure it doesn't have the "super-drain" problem .0.02 had.Message Edited by RBBrittain on 09-9-2005 07: AM

A big Thank You!!! for letting us know about the firmware upgrade for the Zen Micro. I just downloaded the firmware upgrade and upgraded my Audible Manager. No problems. It warned me that all my music would be wiped out, but it is all still there. Playing great. Wonder why Creative didn't announce it here before Audible did?
    luvmyrescuedogs
I think the warning is for upgrading from .x firmware in general. Changing between the .x and 2.x families wipes out the hard dri've; minor upgrades within each family don't. (I didn't lose any of my music while going from 2..02 to 2.20.05 either.)
It's hard to say why Audible beat Creative to the punch; my best guess is that Creative is applying EU volume limits to the European version before releasing it anywhere. (Audible's UK site doesn't list the Micro yet.)
