Usage Monitor not updated since 23:59 11/01/2013

Opening a new thread to reflect the new date and my problem detailed below - also does this happen a lot and when can I expect an usage update?
I ask because I have just gone over to fibre and was monitoring my download speed when I noticed that it had gone down and was much lower than expected. On checking I had an unknown device on my network.
I have changed my router password and key and that seems to have fixed the problem, however it possible the unknown machine could have been on for a couple of days which worries me of how much he/she/it may have used of my limit.

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
It is actually extremely unlikely for someone to have latched onto your system, unless you have given them a wireless key or somehow left the key visible in a window.
It is sometimes tricky to understand what may be connected, as every device has an ID - for example powerplugs, switches, TVs etc, however they should be listed as wireless, ethernet, usb etc.
What was the unknown device connected as ?
You can easily see if the unknown machine was using the connection, by looking at the hub stats and checking the usage values by refreshing the page - as long as nothing else you know about is turned off etc.

  • BT Infinity Usage Monitor not updating.....hmmm???

This happens at the end of every month.  I'm starting to think it is an actual ploy from BT to stop users from knowing how much broadband usage they have left?  The usage monitor normally starts acting up around the 25th of every month....then you get an odd day where it works then it then it stops updating completely.  This leaves a BT user in a vunerable position.
A, Scared of using Internet - Not wanting a penalty charge by going over your limit!
B, Not allowing the BT user to use their full amount of data that they are paying for = saving BT money = ripping us off!!!
SORT IT OUT BT.......IT'S JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

A lot more in this thread regarding the usage monitor,

  • Re: Usage monitor not updating.

All I get is a message saying it's down for maintenance. All this is very interesting, as my allocation should have been topped up on the 1st. It wasn't topped up until the 2nd, after which it showed 3 days worth of usage, at my typical rate, accompanied by a message telling me that based on current usage I would exceed my limit and should upgrade to unlimited. This would be OK if they had ANY evidence, but I've only had it for 1 month, and my usage was well under. After this, the monitor stopped working and has been "down for maintenance" since yesterday, therby preventing me from seeing my actual usage. Ist it Me, or is there some kind of game going on? If I think I'm being gamed, then ALL BT services will be out of this house PDQ and OFCOM informed.

I average 4.6 gb a month, and am on the 10 gb / month tariff.  Nothing has changed in the setup here, but on 2nd July I  get an email to say I'm near my July monthly limit, and on the 3rd I get an email to say I'm over the limit.  As at the 4th the usage monitor says I have now used 20 gb - i.e 4 month's worth in 4 days.
I even turn the router off overnight and when I'm at work.
This is racking up a large bill.  After spending an hour on the phone BT insist their figures are correct.  Someone in India tried to change my wireless key 3 times, then gave up and said he can't do it, and he is off home as his shift has ended.  He suggests I try sorting it out myself, and to phone him back on Sunday.
Talk about banging your head against a wall.  I'll cancel the direct debit and they can take a run and jump when they send a big invoice through.

iPhoto will not update since downloading Yosemite--any help?

Cancel the updates. Delete the apps. Redownload them from the Purchases tab in the App Store.

  • Calendars not updating since getting iphone5

My calendars not updating since getting iphone5
Used to work OK  before I upgraded, but I can't see why it's not happening.
Other device is my wifes ipad and iphone

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

  • Iphone 5s mails not updated since monday. Checks and then says updated Monday. All settings checked and deleted and reinstated account....no change

My iPhone 5s mail has not updated since Monday; I can see mails on iMac.  Checks for mail but nothing new appears.    I have checked all settings and deleted and reinstated mail box but no luck. Can anyone help please.

If the mail provider is a pop mail account, that could be why, because the iMac may have downloaded them already.
If you go to mail > preferences > accounts, it'll tell you there if it is pop or imap.
Let me know and i'll assist you further

Sounds like yours could be an iPad 1.
If so... iOS 5.1.1 is as far as it goes.

  • I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation that I have not updated since purchase.  I have downloaded music from iTunes from an old computer that I can no longer access, and my "old" music in not currently on my new computer.  Will I lose my music if I update?

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation and have not updated the software since I purchased it.  When I first purchased the iPod Touch, I synced it with an old computer and an older version of iTunes.  I no longer have access to the old computer and no access to the older music I downloaded onto the old computer.  If I update the software for my iPod, will I lose all of my music that is currently on the iPod?

    iOS 6.1.3 Software Update
iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Since your updating from iOS 4 to iOS 6, you will most likely lose your songs, but if songs were purchased from iTunes, you can try this:
Downloading past purchases from App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
You can redownload from iTunes on your iTouch, if running iOS 5 or better.

  • Can not update since you have not owned the major version of software.

The forums have multiple posts regarding the error "You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software."
Apple's solution is to archive the message without any comment or solution. Some people mention that Apple does not want people to have multiple accounts. We have multiple devices, why would we not have multiple accounts. I do not want all of my sons games on my phone. Could someone please offer a solution without deleting my post like last time.

  • IPhoto PhotoStream not updating since new iMac purchase

I purchased a new iMac and transferred old iMac info.  PhotoStream has not updated in iPhoto since the transition.  Works on iPhones/iPads, but not iPhoto.  Tried turning PhotoStream off/on in both iPhoto and Settings.  Did not work. Any help?
    Cheers,
    Scott

Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Stream preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

  • "Recently Added" has not updated since I upgraded

My "Recently Added" playlist hasn't updated since I upgraded Friday afternoon. I cannot find any user setting that allows you to change this or set up your own.
I find the "Recently Added" section an easy way to play together the most recently downloaded podcasts. Now, nothing updates.

i've had the exact same problem since i upgraded. Not just the Recently Added not working, but none of the new music I download will import or add to the library.

  • Homescreen icon not updating since 1.1.3

When I get a new email and the homescreen icon shows a "1" in the circle, after I read the email, the homescreen icon still shows the 1. It does not update until I restart the iPhone.
I'm using gmail set as IMAP and have had no other issues prior to 1.1.3.
Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to help.

    *New info:*
This irritating bug kept coming and going, but this morning I discovered what may have been causing it.
There was an old gMail POP account on my phone that got auto-converted to IMAP when I upgraded to 1.1.3. But it was shut off in Mail prefs because I never used it, so I figured it would have no influence on an active account and forgot all about it.
All of my attempted fixes were focused on the active gMail IMAP account.
Well, apparently OFF is not really off on the iPhone (sigh). Deleting the rogue account fixed three things: gMail IMAP is now FAST; stubborn messages that sometimes refused to fully load don't hang any more; the Home screen unread messages flag works properly.

  • Apps will not update since ios5 on 4s

Existing apps are not updating. Verizon unsuccessful as well. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Re-sign in the phone to your iTunes Store account:
Settings > Store > tap ID > sign out (even if it appears correct) > sign in with correct ID and billing info > restart phone.
