Usage of CATT scripts in Sap FI/CO module

Please explain the usage of CATT scripts in FI/CO module .
and is there any specifications for using this CATT script in month end FI/Co activities.

Dear Chandra,
CATT is a SAP tool for testing certain procedures. It could act like a macro-recorder in Excel. That is, you record your actions for certain transaction via CATT and then replay it for the data that you store in an ASCII file. Some people use CATT for uploading the initial master data as well (e.g. cost centres, internal orders, etc.) instead of other SAP tools (LSMW, IDOC).
Bottom line, there is no activity of using CATT in FI-CO; nor in the routine maintenance, neither in end-period procedures. Someone has mislead you on this point. However, if you'd like to use CATT, you can look at the following link:

choose type as "Function module test" (if you are in release less than 6.4 abap) after entering into t.code SCAT.

HI Thanks for every one who gave me the reponse to my previous thread. Now i can run both CATT and ECATT scripts.
But can any one clearly tell me the differences or advantages of ECATT scripts over CATT Scripts.

I obsereved the follwing differences btw CATT and eCATT
1. By using CATT you can test transaction in R/3 system. Where as by using eCATT you can test SAPGUI for Windows and SAP GUI for Java (As it works with SAP Web Application Server 6.20)
2. In eCATT you can write any ABAP login you want, and you can also call RFC,BAPI in the script itself.
3. By using eCATT you can test the web interfaces as well
4. Using eCATT you can have the functionality of other testing tools in the market. like QTP.
5. eCATT provides an interface for external tools. This allows companies to perform automated tests from an SAP system in a complete IT solution landscape across system boundaries. These new options enable complete automation of solution landscapes under standard Windows and Web-based user interfaces- resulting in low-cost operation of an IT Solution.
i think we can consider the above all points as advanteages over CATT tool.

I have had the same problem in the past but I didn't investigate too far.
What I prefer to do is have 2 scripts.
1. User Creation using SU01
2. Role assignment using SU10

The process in SAP as per credit card usage starts from the interface you have to built with the card service provider/Bank, as they are the one's who are providing that facility so to built that abapers will be required as per SD point of view you have to configure the settings in SPRO --> Sales & Distribution --> Billing -->Payment Cards , then define & assign accordingly.
In the SO, you can see entering the payment card option.

HACMP Clustering Script for SAP ECC 6.0 (SR1) - Automatic Failover-Oracle10

I have installed the SAP ECC 6.0 (SR1) under AIX 5.3 / Oracle 10g with HACMP Clustering environment. Manual Failover is working fine. ASCS and Database instances are loaded in share drive with Virtual IP and Virtual name. Central Instance and Dialog Instance are loaded locally in Node A and Node B. I want to get HACMP Clustering script(automatic failover script) for Automation. Please help me if you have.

Hello, I'm doing a "Plant ECC6 to do a test disatre / Recovery.
During the installation, I would use the same <sidadm> existing as it is in the PRD.
If I tell you to install it during the same <sidadm> it will overwrite what already exists, or do I just enter the password of existing <sidadm>?

hi,
     the reboot of a system can be of broadly two types.
1) done by the user
2) abrupt shutdown say due to power failure.
   if you closely look at the file inittab under /etc/ you will find different files are executed for different run levels. For powerfailure also there is a script called powerfail under /etc/init.d/. with different options.
under init.d directory you can find all the scripts for different run levlels starting from rc0-rc6, halt named script , and reboot named script.
. So to solve your problem you can write a script and execute it under this files. Changing all these files are not at all recommended as any mistake can lead to a system halt state. But still we can make the changes if we know what are we doing and definitely you can try if are having a test system with you.
the logic will go something like this:-->
1) for shutdown
    respawn a new shell
    login as <sid>adm
    execute the command i.e stopsap
    exit from that user
same goes for startup also.
now only you have to run this script in the appropriate files at appropriate places(most important).
but the main problem comes when system goes down as sap system takes time to stop so you have to make your OS wait uptill that which may be a tedious task.
. the above discussion was keeping SUSE linux enterprise server in mind.
Please do not make any changes in the above mentioned file if you are running a crucial
system on that OS. try only on a test system.

Ran CATT Script for the role assignment to users

Hi All,
I have ran ECATT script for doing role assignment in QAS and completed successfully. I did this through CUA. What is the next step after running catt script? Do I need to doing anything with PFUD in each child system? Because I checked in the child systems many derived single roles are not generated in QAS.(RED). Is it because of running catt script or it might have came like that only from development? Please advise..

Hi,
I have told you why the error message is there. What do you not understand about the resolution? Your parent roles are out of sync with the child roles so you need to re-sync them. An example of how do do this is to "adjust derived" from the master role. Only when you have done this will your roles be in sync again.

It seems there there is no problem with my FireFox 7.0.1 on my Mac OSX 10.7.2. So, maybe you can solve the problem by updating your OS. The only minor problem here is that Firefox doesn't display in the Tibetan fonts that you choose, it always display in Kailas font for Tibetan.

Chinese characters printing in Scripts in SAP

I would like to print Chinese characters in the scripts in SAP Unicode system.
We are trying thru SAP but unable to print. If anyone already done this please help me to solve this.

there are various factors like printers, script language settings influencing printing the chinese characters.First you can try to print the hardcoded chinese characters using <b>locl</b> instead of network printers. for this u need to copy the chinese characters and paste in the script using the native login (not nesscary to login to SAP in chinese login). If this works then u need to check the printer model supported by SAP for printing double byte characters. For more information pls post this Q in SCRIPT section of SDN. Also there are couple of notes availbale for troubleshooting this issue.
