Usage of Sampling Procedure with Inspection Points

Hi Experts,
Does any one have an idea whether we can use sampling procedure with free inspection points apart from In-Process Quality Inspection (Inspection Type 03)?
Thanks in Advance,
Arun

i need to do goods receipt inspection with inspection points

i given paddy to the miller as a subcontarcting
iam getting rice as out put

ie while processing from paddy to rice i will made timely inspection points and want to capture the result
and for final rice also i need to do inspection
    how to achive this

For my proposal you use 04 inspection lot with early creation of the inspection lot.
Create an inspection plan with the proper usage for inspection type 04.
Select free inspection points in the header of the inspection plan.
Assign your characteristics.  Release the plan.
Create and release your order.  You should find an 04 inspection lot for it.
Select the lot, most work list will give a pop-up showing the two operations.  Double click on the first one.  Then you should get a pop-up asking for the inspection point identification.  Enter in what ever you've set it up to require.
Record the results.  Repeat previous step as often as you need to.

You define the use of the inspection points in the inspection plan.  You must use "inspection with plan" in the material master set up and use an appropriate plan.  Then you should get inpsection points with 04 inspection.

  • How come inspection points with DESTRUCTIVE MICs don't affect sample size?

    Hi guys,
i have a case i tried on IDES and i need an explanation for it if you can.
@ the beginning we have an in-process inspection with inspection points and non-destructive MICs, the interval of 10 mins (of the inspection point) generated 3 inspections, and my sampling procedure led to a sample size of 1 PC, in the inspection lot display the sample size is "1", which is normal and i understand this.
    here comes the problem
we will change one of the MICs and make it destructive. Now we have our 3 inspections. The normal logic says that I'm having 3 inspections and there is on of the MICs DESTRUCTIVE, therefore I'm must get 3 samples, one for each inspection, which means that when we check the sample size in the inspection lot we must get a size of 3, but when i tried this i got a size of 1 again....and this is not logical because my sample will be destructed in the first inspection so how can I carry on the remaining 2 inspections ???
so i need to know how come I'm getting a size of 1 and is that right or wrong ???
i hope i made it clear and wish you can help
    Regards,
    Mahmoud Osama

    Hi Amol,
i'm sorry i don't understand what do you mean by operation confirmation quality  ???
and about stock posting, i know as you said that it is not possible with in-process inspection, as the lot is not stock relevant, but whether it is stock relevant or not has nothing to do with the sample size calculation, my problem is that the logic says that i must get 3 samples because with each inspection i'll destruct my sample, but SAP calculations give only one sample !!!!
i hope you can help with that, thanks for you concern.

  • Discussion: The usage of Inspection Points

    Hi Experts,
Talking about the INSPECTION POINTS, what kind of usage could it be ?
In some occasions,  it can be used as an sign that distinguish each delivery from the production line to the QM dept.
How about any other way to use it?

An inspection point is an identifiable record of inspection results that is assigned to a work or inspection operation. Several inspection points can be assigned to an inspection operation.
With inspection points, you can have several inspections and can record multiple sets of characteristic results for an operation.
Inspection Points for Inspections During Production
If you inspect during production using routings, rate routings or master recipes and you want to record inspection results in specific intervals, choose the inspection point type Free inspection points in production. You can define your own field combinations for this inspection type in Customizing.
    Inspection Points in Goods Receipt
If you carry out goods receipt inspections with inspection points, choose the inspection point type Free inspection points in production. You can create your own field combinations for this inspection type in Customizing.
    Inspection Points in Plant Maintenance
If you carry out calibration inspections and want to record inspection results for equipment or functional locations, choose the inspection point type for Equipment or Functional location. You can create your own field combinations for these inspection types in Customizing. However, the field Equipment or Functional location must exist in the field combination.
    Inspection Points in Sample Management
If you use the sample management functions in a goods receipt inspection, or inspection during production with planned physical samples, each sample number is uniquely identified by an inspection point. Choose the inspection point type Physical sample. You can create your own field combinations for this inspection type in Customizing. However, the field Sample must exist in the field combination.

  • Sample management with in-process inspection

i need to know why must we assign inspection points when we use sample management in an in-process inspection ?

    Hi,
[Kindly refer the link herewith|Inspection point] wherein the importance of inspection point is mentioned.
In simple words, inspection point determines what system should do to proceed the inspection.
I mean if you will enter 100 (STD SAP), system will plan the inspection, UD , Quality score procedure etc etc according to the freely defined inspection points.
Now say if you enter 200 (STD SAP) there, then system will go in the direction of Samples, means will generate Physical Sample (Numbers), Samples size, will fetch these data to UD and stock posting screen also, then calculate the Quality score, etc etc.
If you will enter it time based inspection point then system will drive the entire inspection lot accordingly.
Now these is the straight and written explanation to your answer.
Means If there is inspection point as 200--->there will be need  of SDP, Sampling procedure, etc
But in same manner it is applicable in reverse order also, i.e. If you wanna go with SDP,Sampling procedure (SAMPLE Mgmt) then, inspection point there must be maintained accordingly.

  • How to use sampling procedure

    Hello Friends,
I have to map the following scenario. Please advise the config & master data.
    1) My sample size should change if my acceptance & rejecetion level changes.
    2) If rejection increases then the sample size in the next lot should increase & the vice versa.
    Regards

    Hello Sir,
Thanks for your valuable reply. I have progressed on this. I need some more help.
Let us park DMR for a while. DMR is working fine. But I have some issues in results recording.
Let us only work only with sampling procedure with sampling scheme.
I have taken one inspection characteristic. It is quantitavie characteristic. It has lower limit as 10% & upper limit as 15%.
    what I have done
    1)
I have created one sampling scheme = ABC
Valuation parameter = variable inspection by S method
    sampling table = severity/AQL
For normal inpsection (4) I have taken AQL as 2.
    Lot size = 100
    Sample size = 15
    K-Factor = 3
    2)
I created one sampling procedure = XYZ
Sampling type = Use sampling scheme
Valuation mode = Variable inpscetion S - Method (two limits)
    without inpsection points
    assigned sampling scheme = ABC
    No multiple samples
    Inspection severity   4
    AQL value             2.000
    3)
I assigned the sampling procedure in the plan with the characteristic.
    4)
I did GR for 100 & sample of 15 generated.
    why I have done
    1)
    In sampling scheme
valuation parameter = variable inspection by S method (because my characteristic is quantitative)
    2)
    In sampling procedure
Valuation mode = Variable inpscetion S - Method (two limits) (because my characteristic is quantitative with lower & upper limit )
    My issues:
    1) Is my settings for a quantitative characteristic with lower & upper limit correct?
    2) During results recording system is asking to enter StdDev. What is standard deviation?
    3) How characteristic is accepted & rejected? I am not getting any pop up to select accept or reject?

  • Pop-up screen does not appear for inspection point- In-process inspection

    Hi,
We havs set up inspection points( time-based) in the master recipe. In that inspection point , we have defined date, time and inspector name as 3 fields to be maintained , before the results recording can start for each characteristic.
Even though the inepction point is assigned in the header QM data of recipe , system does not give the pop-up at all to record the date , time and inspector's name.
Please let me know what settings might be missing to get this pop-up screen to record the inspection date, time and inspector's name.
    Regards,
    Manohar

The Sampling procedure with free inspection points radio button is chosen. However, we are not getting the pop-up screen of QE11.
What we are trying to get in QA32 , is when we click on "results recording" push button , we want to get QE11 screen to pop-up so that the inspector's name and date and time are recorded , before the results recording screen comes.
Please suggest whether this is a personal setting or master data setting or config setting or some exit to be used.
    Regards,

  • Three Physical Samples withdraw from inspection lot 04  and then result record for all three

    Dear Gurus,
We have 3 quality labs and each lab is sent a separate samples to inspect certain characteristics once we receive material from production. I have created an inspection plan and mapped these three labs as  work center in operation and then assigned MICs under each operation to inspect.
Now my issue is how to map separate 3 samples to inspection lot generated from production  ( type-4) and also how to configure that to inspection plan.
I have to result record for all these three physical sample as withdrawn from Lot based upon inspection plan as mentioned above.
I can mention sample drawing procedure in inspection plan but how to map actual sample there.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Satish

    Hi Satish
You are creating three operation for depicting three testing Labs.
Against each lab (operation) you had assigned MICs as per your requirement.
Now you have to assign a SDP along with inspection point type 200 for physical sample in task list.
After prod confirmation system will create inspection lot along with a sample by default for 1st operation.
For other operations you have to create samples manually referring the same inspection lot (QPR6).Remember to click ' Create Insp points' and mention operation.
    Release the samples in QPR4.
Now when you go for result recording system would ask first for operation, so select the operation , then system will ask for insp point (sample no). There click on assign insp point , so system will provide the Sample no which were created in QPR6 for that particular operation.
Please follow the steps and revert.

  • Reg: Sampling procedure .

    Dear friends,
Currently we are implementing QM for process industry.
I need your valuable inputs on Sampling procedure. what exactly meant by sampling procedure.
How to configure for sampling procedure.
    Thanks in Advance.

You acn get many threads & Input if you go through the sdn but I will try to explaain you & give you some input for sampling procedure for process industry............
Sampling procedure simply means how samples are going to determine the a char & a Inspction lot.......
sampling procedure has sampling type like "percentage ,100% ,fixed sampling or with sampling procedure......which has valuation type like manual ,attribute or variable depending upon the mic used.
In Process industry sampling procedure can be used with Inspection point or without inspection points.
QPV1 is t code for sampling procedure. Mianly customization related to sampling procedure is by default available in SAP QM.

  • 100% Sampling Procedure is not functioning for Prod. Order - Insp.Type:03

    Hi Experts,
We have a number of material as  SPARE PARTS.
We are creating Production Order for these Spare Parts.
Inspection Type 03 is used for it.
Customization -> Define Default Values for Inspection Type
Sample  100 % Inspection Check Box is activated
Skips Allowed Check Box is activated.
    Material Number : 571113211
    QM View
    Inspection Type 03 is assigned
100 % Inspection Check box is activated (By Customization Setting)
Skips Allowed Check Box is activated (By Customization Setting)
Routing is created for this material .
For the operation 10,  Two MIC are assigned.
For Each MIC the 100% SAMPLING PROCEDURE IS ASSIGNED
Production Order is created with Qty. : 80.
    System generates the Inspection Lot.
The result recording screen  the u201CINSPECT FIELD  SOLLSTPUMF IS 1 ONLY.
    It must be 80.
I am able to record only one entry.
As 100 % SAMPLING PROCEDURE IS ASSIGNED TO THE MIC,
THE LOT SIZE OF THE PRODUCTION ORDER MUST BE THE SAME OF SAMPLING SIZE.
For the manual Inspection type, I just assigned the sampling procedure to the MIC in Inspection Plan.
When I created the Inspection lot the Sampling size  with Inspection Lot qty of 80,
I am able to enter the result for the specified MIC 80 times.
 It is working fine for manual Insp. Type  89.
    With Best Regards,
    Raghu Sharma

    Hi Rajaram,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
    The issue is solved.
This is the requirement of Inprocess Inspection.
I am assigning the MIC in Routing.
Hence I need the Inspection lot as soon as Production Order is released.
In Material Master QM View, Inspection Type 03.
I have deactivated the 100% Inspection Check Box.
    The issue is solved.

  • QM Inspection Points

    Gurus
I require that inspection points should be created automatically for inspection lots when i view QA32
To do so i have done settings in SPRO > QM > Quality Planning > Inspection Planning > General > Define identifier.
Here i kept 2 under field Time for field combination 150 assuming system will create inspection points every 2 hours automatically but i cannot see inspection points created
Where am i missing? Please reply
    Regards

    Dear,
Have have to assigned inspection characteristics in routing that will be your in process inspection
When you Release the order the inspection lots will be generated.
Please maintain the Quality management Inspection point on the operation details and select time related. For Inspection point completion select Quantity, Valuation and Confirmation(Production).
mention the time as 1 and unit a HR (Hour).
You can record the results for every hour.
But if you are not doing inprocess inspection & inspection with GR in that case you have to create insepction plan for material assign inspection type as 04 in material master
Now for hourly analysis this you can enter by selecting scope not fixed & single value in master inspection characteristics
You can enter time & other deatils of sample by using inspection point in inspection plan.
Or else QAPP_CUST_IP_CREATE for generation of automatic inspection points.
Then it will work for you.

  • Make Draw Procedure and Sampling Procedure Quantities Match?

I need to set up an inspection plan where one item is taken from each container and combined into 1 pooled sample. The items in the containers are in eaches and the number may vary from container to container. Think 5 buckets filled with pebbles. I want to end up with a pooled sample that is a total quantity of 5, total containers to sample is 5 and sample size per container is 1.
On my inspection plan, my Sampling Procedure is set for a fixed sample size of 1.
The number of buckets may vary from shipment to shipment, so my Draw Procedure is set to have the number of primary samples be P2. However, when I set the number of pooled samples to 1, I end up with sampling instructions that say to take 0.2 pebbles from each of 5 buckets.
I can set up the Draw Procedure to only have Primary Samples and my sampling instructions will show 5 primary samples but it will not indicate that they should be taken 1 per container.
Setting my fixed sample size to 5 solves this particular problem but as my material may arrive in 6 containers next time, it is not a long term solution.
It seems to me that I need to be able to set my sample size to also vary based on the number of containers. I can't do that using a pebble to bucket conversion, as this is not a constant number. Ideally I would like a Sampling Procedure with a sample size of P2.
Is there a way to create a Sampling Procedure that varies based on the number of containers received? Or is there another option?
    Thanks,
    Deb

You can achieve this by using Sampling Determination "300-Sample schema" If require modify Function Module "QDRS_SAMPLING_PLAN_SAMPLE"
    Thanx!!

  • Inspection Point table

    Dear All,
we are in the process of automating the results recording process using a Z program. For the results recording i have used Inspection points. What i mainly want to do is from several characteristics, Initially record results for one inspection characteristic and later record results for a different inspection characteristic. In the STD  SAP this allows to do. What i want to know is since i use the Inspection points, what are the tables that will be used?

  • No Sampling Procedures in In-Process Quality Inspection (origin 03, insp. points 100)

    Hi
I am facing a problem while attaching master inspection characteristics etc. in a master recipe (C202). I first specify inspection points as 100 in the recipe header (quality data section) and then I go to the operations section, select a phase and go into the area where I can attach MICs, methods and procedures. Now, no matter what kind of MICs I add there ( ones that require a sampling procedure, of course, as it is my need) it does not let me browse (F4) on the mandatory sampling procedure field. I have created all kinds of sampling procedures (freely defined inspection points, without inspection points, manual valuation, spc, fixed, 100% - all combinations) but the mandatory sampling procedure field does not let me browse for sampling procedures. If I directly type a name, it says that the procedure is not suitable for inspection points (100 that I defined) despite the sampling procedure being a freely defined inspection points one or any other. This is only in the case of inspection points/in-process/master recipe. otherwise normal GR usage 5 plans are working fine. Any help? It's urgent. Thank you!
    Regards,
    Bilal

No, I'm using 100 inspection points, freely defined (both in my master recipe header and sampling procedure)
And yes, the sampling procedure does have the radio button selected for freely defined inspection points, manual valuation and fixed sample.
Like I said above I did get half of it working by making a setting in SPRO in the section that says Inspection for manufacturing order. In the process order section, I selected something related to production order in one of the tabs. That now enables me to assign a sampling procedure to a characteristic (SP with freely defined insp points) but it still doesn't let me browse (F4) for a sampling procedure eventhough there are 3-4 suitable procedures. I directly have to type them and press enter. Cannot F4/browse procedures.
