Usb 2.0 connectors - jusb1

hey just wondering my msi P67a GD55 B3 only comes with 1 on board usb 2.0 connector (internal I/O connector) but i have 4 usb hubs on my front panel and only 1 slot for the two cables needed.
not sure if that makes sense but just in case;
4 front usb connectors each 2 usb has 1 jusb1 cable, so in total 2 cables
the mobo has one usb 2.0 and one usb 3.0 (internal I/O connectors)
is it possible to get around this? like a 2-1 adapter or a usb 3.0 to usb 2.0 internal I/O connector?
thanks!

I believe there are gender changers available that will do that.

  • IDEA: add a USB Standard-B connector to use any laptop as an external hard disk

    Hello Lenovo,
Here is an idea for you:
Add to your laptops a USB Standard-B connector with the following functionality:
When the power of the laptop is OFF,
you can connect the laptop to another laptop using this connector,
and use the internal harddisk of the laptop as an external harddisk for the other laptop.
    Regards
    Bogdan

From a normal external drive, no, it's not possible. The only device that would approximate this sort of functionality that I've heard of would be the Seagate GoFlex Satellite:

  • HP Omni 10 5600US - Is there a USB to barrel connector charging cable?

As we all know, the power cable for the Omni10 5600US leaves much to be desired.
    Barrel connector. Fine
Cant use the USB port to charge. Fine
BUT...Is there a USB to barrel connector charging cable? Arent USB cables just basically wires arranged in a certain sequence so it should be possible yes? I do not want to carry around the little mini power brick around with my tablet and the option to be able to charge from a portable battery, my laptop, a usb cigarette lighter, or even a buddies phone charger where the USB cord can break away would really make quite a difference.
Even if I did bring my power brick to work , its still isnt long enough to plug into my power strip and up through the desks cable management.

Yes you can.  You'll need to purchase a USB OTG (on-the-go) cable.  I recommend using a drive that has its own power supply but I've successfully used small USB powered drives also.

If you have not done so, try exiting the Photo app (and maybe more apps if you have a lot open) from the Open Apps List and see if a discount/reconnect opens the app. If that does not work, try powering down the iPad and test. If it is still not working try a hard reset by pressing both Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time until the Apple graphic appears, ignoring the Slide to Power Off button.

  • I want to buy a cheap usb/sd card connector

I want to buy a cheap usb/sd card connector for my iPad for the very rare occasions when I may need it so don't want to spend any more than I have to - any recommendations please ? Roger

Hi, this one may be what you need: http://www.pickegg.com/wholesale/5-in-1-sd-tf-ms-m2-mmc-flash-card-reader-usb-ca mera-connector-kit-for-ipad-white.html.
    Hope it helps.

  • USB 3.0 connector

I just purchased a MSI P67A-C43 B3 mainboard and a MSI NightHawk ATX Black Mid Tower Case.  Does the usb 3.0
connector on the case also connect the top usb 2.0 ports?

If the USB 3.0 case connector is like the one on my Lian-Li, yes, it has a splitter built into it that connects to the mainboard USB 3.0 header & it enables one USB 3.0 & one USB 2.0 case port.

  • Freezing MBP when inserting USB or Thunderbolt connector

I have quite new MBP Retina, it was working very well in the beginning but now, without any reason, it is not working that well. When I connect any USB connector (printer or external HDD), thunderbolt with ethernet adapter etc. - the cursor freezes for 5-10 sec (just now when connecting the ethernet adapter, the computer has frozen completely and I had to do a force restart). The same when opening the lid - it often takes quite long time before the laptop awakes (there is a grey and then light blue screen) and often the cursor freezes too for some time.
This is very strange and unwelcome and certainly not as I would expect "the best Mac ever" to behave - for such a price. As I said - it was not doing like that from the beginning, but was spoilt like this some time ago. What can be the reason and how to bring it back to normal functioning ?

It's new and it seems as if you are having hardware problems - take your machine to your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them diagnose and fix the problems. Could be logic board related since it's happening with both ports.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • IPod Hack? AirClick USB + iPod Camera Connector.

Im thinking of buying Griffins AirClick USB to control my Mac (iTunes, QuickTime etc). I also have Apples iPod Camera Connector, and im wondering, if i plug the AirClick reciever into the camera connector, and plug that into my iPod, could i control my iPod?
Its just im sick of waiting for the new AirClick for dock connecting iPod, and the remotes for both devices are exactly the same.
    *nathan

lol, OK. To be fair, i was thinking of a post to make, in order to test the 'missing post' issue. There's no issue for me
I guess i'll be waiting for the dock connecting AirClick then...

  • Syncing iPad & iPod...  device USB port cable connector question

I have an iPad & iPod 4th gen.... both syncing cables look identical..no identity markings on either. I'm not sure now which came with which device.
QUESTION: Are the syncing/charging ( know I can't charge iPad off USB port) cables given with purchase interchangable for these 2 devices?
    Thanks!

Yes, the cables work the same. It is an Apple proprietary 30 pin connector.
The chargers are different. The iPhone/iPod charger is 5 watt. The iPad charger is 10 watt. But you can use the iPad charger with iPhones/iPods because it is self limiting.

  • Best UK iPad 3 case supplier w/Bluetooth v3 rechargeable keyboard that uses standard Apple USB-30 pin connector to charge

    Hi
I know this has been the subject of some debate but I am getting a new iPad 3rd Gen today so have been researching iPad 3 cases w/keyboard over the last 3 days and I cannot seem to find a UK dealer / distributor for a (White pref.) iPad 3 case with an integrated bluetooth v3 rechargeable keyboard that DOESNT use micro USB to charge but DOES use the standard Apple 30-pin to USB cable. Is anyone using such a specific thing or know of anyone who makes such a thing and is UK based. Or someone that ships to the UK? I feel something like this shouldnt be expensive (i.e. >£75/$110)
    Thank you

Was about to ask whether anyone tried this with their Stream 7/8, I hope you don't mind me putting this here since our goals are the same. So did anyone try this? I might do it soon, but I just bought an OTG cable, so maybe next time. It just requires a microusb Y cable and a female adapter, no dismantling/cutting/soldering necessary.

  • When I connect my digital camera to my iPad it will only download the stills, not the videos. How can I download the videos? I have the USB and HDMI connectors for the iPad.

When I connect my Leica digital camera to my iPad it will only download the photos not the videos. How can I download the videos anyone please?

If your camera has an SD memory card, use the camera connection kit & the SD card to download to the iPad. That's what I do.
Another way that will work. Download the video(s) to your computer. Then you can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
First, Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie file into the folder. The movie file must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie file should appear & you can import.

  • With the new MacBook having only a USB Type C connector, does that mean Thunderbolt is already antiquated?

I'm curious since their own new dongle doesn't support Thunderbolt either.  Does anyone know?
What are people's thoughts on this?

What are people's thoughts on this?
With only one port. We went from one USB port on the first MBA, to two, and now we are down to one port, period. Not even a headphone jack! And now the user must carry around an adapter. What's the point of a beautiful laptop if you have an octopus of adapters hanging out of its single port?

  • Can I connect iPod (with dock connector) with just a USB connector?

My mother-in-law gave my daughter her old iPod (with dock connector). It was supposed to come with an adapter that converts the 6-pin firewire cable to a USB cable (you are supposed to plug the 6-pin into the dock connector to charge it, then use the adapter to connect to your computer). We never got The adapter, so I just used USB connector from my own iPod nano to connect the old iPod into the computer. All kinds of error messages. I've now restored the iPod and it seems to be working, but I'm afraid to plug it back in using just the USB cable. Is it possible to connect the USB cable directly from the iPod to the computer without the adapter? Or could the problem be that I have also use my iPod nano on this computer? Thanks for any help you can provide.

A 15GB iPod would have to be a 3rd gen iPod.  It has a touch (not click) wheel with four touch buttons in a row that glow orange during use, correct?  That model needs to be connected using FireWire, because it cannot charge over USB.
If your new Mac has a Thunderbolt port, you can get an adapter for FireWire
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD464ZM/A/apple-thunderbolt-to-firewire-adapte r
plus an adapter for FireWire 800 to FireWire 400
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/FIR1369AD/
Another way, if you have the square white FireWire power adapter that came with your iPod, is to get a special docking cable that Apple used to sell a long time ago.  It has both USB and FireWire connectors.  Here's a listing for a third-party version on eBay
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Vanco-iPod-Dock-Connector-to-1-USB-1-FireWire-Cable-/2 71074766489?pt=US_MP3_Player_Chargers_Cradles&hash=item3f1d50ae99
(Search on "FireWire USB iPod docking cable" to see other listings.)
What you do with this thing is plug the USB connector to your Mac's USB port, the FireWire connector to the FireWire power adapter, and the dock connector to the iPod.  iPod can then sync over USB while getting power over FireWire.
I would go with that special cable, to avoid using a series of adapters (which adds complexity and unreliability) and tying up the valuable Thunderbolt port for just your iPod.
