The fix is a new logic board. It might be tempting to turn off the computer and start poking around inside to fix it yourself but you risk separating the port from the logic board and doing even more damage.

After my last update with Firefox, my right-hand scroll bar no longer has up and down arrows. I really need to get them back. I'm using a Mac laptop.
So the whole button is missing. I have no idea how to fix the default theme, since it is inside omni.ja, which is not accessible from just any archive handler, and I have not found any way to open it. My problems were with third party themes, and I managed to fix those by editing parts of the themes.
Maybe you could set up scrollbars yourself by using a userChrome.css file plus images. You could get some tips by opening third party themes and looking at their scrollbars.css files.

There was a picture connected to the right side of my toolbar. I deleted it and now a question mark sits in its place. How do I access this and correct it?
The question mark is an orphaned alias. Cmd-drag it off and poof it!

My Macbook Pro Retina's USB port on the right side not working at all

I received my macbook pro 15inch with retina display a week ago, but not until today had I got the chance to use the USB port on the right side, only to find out that it is not connecting to anything at all. I have tried to use my iPhone 4 and iPad 3 with two different cables, my USB thumb drive, and my Blackberry 9900, none of them are charging nor shown in iTunes/Finder. All of above works on the left and on other windows machines too.
I'm also not able to charge my Blackberry with the usb port on the left side, thought it would pop up a message saying "charging not supported" on the phone.
For you information, I have applied both updates including the one released few days ago. I have also tried to reset the PRAM. Also, I have migrated from my old late 2008 13inch unibody Macbook using Migration Assistant, not sure if this would affect anything.
I'm aware that there have been reports and discussions regarding the USB port not been able to run devices on 3.0 speed, but I wonder if anyone else have the same problem with me, where the port simply not connecting to anything at all?I also have a problem with the USB port on the right side of my Retina MBP. The USB3.0 port on the left side works fine, even with high speed external SSD enclosures, like the OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G which enables me to copy large files at a sustained rate of 160-170MB/sec. Wow USB3.0 and the Mercury SSD is a FAAAAST combination connected to the Retina MBP.
However, like the forum entries about the USB3.0 ports in general on the new Retina MBP, the USB3.0 port on the RIGHT side is plagued with dropping intermittently, disconnecting my external hard drives while copying large files AS WELL AS disconnecting while just sitting there connected to an external hard drive and doing nothing.
Therefore, since I don't feel like returning my Retina MBP and waiting weeks for a replacement, I have chosen to only use the left side USB3.0 port for now.
I have my suspicions about why the right side USB port might be more problematic than the left side one. I found this older post on the internet about how "Not all USB ports are created equal on MacBooks..." that talks about how on older models of MacBooks one of the USB ports shares a USB hub with multiple other devices like the iSight camera etc. therefore making it less tolerant of heavy traffic or something like that. Therefore, I wonder if the right side USB port is sharing a USB internal hub where-as the left side one is more 'dedicated' and therefore in my case able to handle the high speed transfers/traffic I am throwing at it with my external SSDs.
I have also read that USB3.0 in general, on non-Macs, has had trouble for years. For instance, some forum entries on Apple Support Communities and other non-Apple forums has made mention that 'they' are not surprised at the problems encountered on USB3.0 external hard drives connected to the Retina MBP because Windows laptops have had a lot of flakey problems with USB3.0 for 'years'.
Also, I have recently purchased a "Buffalo" external Thunderbolt 1TB drive from OWC and have been doing Clones onto that drive for several weeks. I use SuperDuper to clone >600GB of data on my 768GB Retina MBP several times a week. And, I have (knock on wood) not had any problems with the stability of my externally connected Thunderbolt drive.
So, in my case, I am racking it up to high-speed stresses on the USB3.0 ports at least in part...and perhaps the possibility that the LEFT side USB port on the Retina MBP is more dependable and/or a more dedicated USB port than the right side one.
This doesn't really solve your problem, but it may at least help you feel like you are not alone. -
In previous versions of i Tunes I could highlight a song in my library and a genious list would show on the right side of the screen listing songs that were like the one highlighted. Now I do not get that list. Is there a way to get that back?

When I receive an email the page often has a certificate that I would like to print. Using the print function at the top of the page brings up the email as a page as it looks in my web email. When I hit the print button on that page there is always a 1 inch margin added to the printed page cutting off the right side of the desired page to be printed.
My printer accepts what ever I send it from word, pdf files as they appear on the screen, Why doe Firefox not send the same images as is displayed to the printer?
This seems to occur whenever the screen shows an image that is almost border to border and not text. When a margin is part of the email message or it is text this doesn't seem to occur.
HELP Please. I really need to be able to print what is displayed to print the proper document.

Sonoran Consulting & Finance, LLCSome pages add their own margin to the minimum margin set in Page Setup. First you might reduce the margin here:
Alt+f (displays the classic File menu) > Page Setup > Margins & Header/Footer tab
Second, you could try using Shrink to Fit. However, if the image is a background image rather than part of the content of the page, that might not have any effect. -
I want to make groups/ i made 1 group of 1/I went back & I had that group but couldnt make more/ I saw was page that hadnt been pinned yet as group/all other tab were shown on the right sid/I tried to pin the page that was shown in the tab group/then the one group(of 1) no longer showed up/Now I have a blank box with all the icons on the far right side.

I'm not going to be of much use regarding answers but I sure am going to watching this post like a hawk for any replies. My package is a slightly diluted version of this and I do find the BBtalk and data limits hard to make the most of as well.
If nothing else this totally highlights how complicated BT have managed to make their packages.

How do you change a brush tool color in Photoshop13. The color chart that has always been on the right side of the screen is gone and I cannot find out how to turn it on

I had on my desk top PC (a vista OS) a version of FireFox that the book marks where listed in the book tool bar tab and the "book tool" was able to show all my favs and there was a scroll bar on the right side of the top right side. I would like very much to turn it on in the Laptop I just bought and am having a fit trying to figure out all the differences,.I very much like this function; however, I am now using win 7 which in and of itself is difficult to figure out troubles when they occur such as if the MSN Bing program opens a video window while I am playing, the media center will lock up, or if I am listening to BBradio.org and click on lestening to one of the pastors the laptop will show static on the screen and all you hear is static like you just went to the twilight zone.

How do I find the to do list that seemed to have disappeared on the right side of my weekly iCal?
I use the weekly page for my iCal as I am a nail tech. I remember a while ago there was a little part on the right side that had a to do list. I can't find it now. All the responses to inquiries about this were a couple of years ago and don't apply to the updated version as of today 5/23/14. There is no "to do" in view or "make a new reminder" or the little thumb tack. Help!

The bookmark tab went from the right side to the left side. I did not change that. what cause the change from the right side to the left side? Also the the Mozilla Firefox tab on the upper left hand corner changed.

There were some recent ui changes around the downloads manager. What version where you on before? Anyway, you can customize things in Firefox really easily. Take a look at [[Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars|this article on customizing Firefox]] for details. Should be a piece of cake to move the bookmarks button.
As for the color of the button, you might be in [[Private Browsing - Browse the web without saving information about the sites you visit|Private Browsing]] mode. That changes the color of the button from orange to a purplish color.
