Yes it's possible to connect a USB 3.0 ExpressCard adapter if you have the G555 with expresscard slot. You may also want to check this review as it list PRO's and CON's of using this type of adapter.

Extra software for lenovo g555

Hi, I recently wiped my harddrive by accident without a backup of the drivers. I've re installed Windows 7 32 bit and all the basic drivers' video, USB, bios, etc) the only ones I'm missing are audio drivers and the veriface software. For audio drivers I downloaded the recommended ones and it stats an error that (plugin not found). For veriface, ive tried version 3 for xp in compatability. This dosent run on startup and is the wrong version to the original. Any help would be excellent, thanks Rob.

Satellite Pro L300 - Cannot install software for USB 3.0 Expresscard

I am trying to install an AKE USB 3.0 expresscard to a Toshiba Pro L300 running Windows 7. The laptop recognises the expresscard but the software does not install correctly so the unit will not work.
Have tried the NEC & Fresco drivers supplied with the unit and also tried other drivers for AKE downloaded fron internet but still no joy.
Has anyone ever loaded in software for a USB3.0 expresscard successfully? Will the laptop take USB 3.0?
Any help would be much appreciated.

If the software doesnt install correctly try to contact card manufacturer and ask for help.

please help me very fast...I have a iso file of win8.1 that i copied it in my usb disk.and i set the priority of boot in usb.but when i power on and select boot menu and then select usb...the windows 7 start normally.(my laptop:G500).what's the problem?

How did you prep your flash drive? If you're booting in legacy (not UEFI) mode, it should be NTFS (for Win 7 anyway, haven't tested Win 8) with the active flag set. If you're booting in UEFI mode it should be FAT32.

Lenovo G555 0873 Insyde BIOS before NAWA1110.exe

Hi,
I've got a Lenovo G555 - 2gb - AMD M320 cpu - HD4200 gfx - 500gb and was wondering if there were any savvy owners (unlike me) who figured out how to backup their BIOS before upgrading it. I upgraded the BIOS, and crashes became unbearable, recovery attempts fail with blue screen or justs hangs after progress bar in the beginning. I even tried installing fresh with new windows 7 disks which also failed, either blue screen during start. The funny thing is hirens windows mini-xp works without a problem, and can run memory diagnostics all night (no problems reported, by the way)
I believe it may be because it doesn't load drivers and/or rely on advance hardware features that normal operating systems check for. I must add even linux fails soon after/during checking of PCI features since you can see linux boot process in text form.
Sorry to throw out a lot of assumptions but if anyone does have a copy of the BIOS before the one listed on Lenovo website it would be worth trying. (can I even flash in windows in a windows live CD?)

Lenovo g555 BIOS Corruption

Tried to turn on my Lenovo G555 this morning, but all i got was the sound of the cpu fan for about 3 seconds and no display.
From reading this forum i suspect the problem is with the CMOS and BIOS. I believe if i could reset the cmos the laptop would boot up. Any Suggestions ???
P.S I have tried removing all hardware ie. Ram, Hdd, Wlan card ect...

Am sorry to hear about the issue that you’re facing,
And I’d like to advise you to turn off the machine and connect the charger and unplug the battery,
Then please press and hold on the power button for 10 seconds and after that you can plug in in the battery and turn on the machine and then check the display,
If still the same please connect an external monitor back and check the display on the external monitor. (FN+F3 to change the display to the external monitor)

Lenovo G555 Wifi card replace

hello from greece.
i have bought lenovo g555 with amd ati 4550 gpu card and i need to change my wifi card adapter.
as i know the bios is locked and i can't put other wifi card than the lenovo has put on.
what i can do to unlock the bios and put a better wifi card than broadcom.??

can someone tell me what i have to do?
i need the laptop to work and the external usb wifi isn't they way i want to use on the laptop.....what kind of card may i have to use ?????

Cannot install NEC USB 3.0 Driver for Windows 7 - Now no USB 3.0

I was trying to update the usb 3.0 driver on my G770 - connecting a USB 3.0 portable drive (or USB 3.0 flash) would slow down Windows and browsing from folder to folder would hang.
I downloaded the latest driver from the site...
NEC USB 3.0 Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - Lenovo G770 Notebook (IN5CAR01WW5.exe)
and it asks for Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver disk during the installation.
Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver for Windows XP exists but the driver for Windows 7 is NEC USB 3.0 Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)
What to do?

If you are using Windows Vista go to All Programs/Palm and click on the folder and select Hot Sync Manager and then try to sync with the USB cable. If you are using the Windows XP go to Start/Programs/Palm/Hot Sync Manager and then try to sync. If you don’t have the palm folder at all on your PC you have to install it. Default Partitions for lenovo Twist s230u

I have a Lenovo Twist (s230u) and need to do a system recovery. Unfortunately, neither the F11 option is working nor recovering from win 8 itself. I do not have a win8 disk (wasn't supply with the computer) !
The only option I guess is to get a win8 drive and do a clean install. Before I do this and reformat the drive, can someone tell me what to do with the different partition on the HDD and the SDD ? I see the disk is divided into multiple partitions... Even if I do a clean win 8 installation, what should I do about the 260 Mb, 1000Mb and 7 Gb partitions (EFI, recovery and recovery respectively) Are they necessary ?
What about the SSD ? Technically I guess since it is separated, it shouldn't affected.

Easiest - if your drive stays alive long enough - is to make a recovery flash drive and use that to restore to a new drive.
Methodology to create Recovery Media and reload a Lenovo system with Microsoft Windows 8 preload
If you have a MS Win 8 install DVD of the matching version you can just copy the contents to a FAT32-formatted flash drive and use that for a clean install. The license is in BIOS and shoud be picked up. (CAVEAT: I've done installs from flash, but not verified that the license is picked up.)
Note that the copy-to-flash install works for MS media but not for Lenovo recovery DVDs.
Worst case: use a USB DVD drive. Worst, worst case: purchase recovery DVDs from Lenovo support _and_ use an external drive.

Lenovo G555 XP drivers

Simply put, I'm looking for drivers for XP for the Lenovo G555 model.
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find this model listed in the list of models that Lenovo supports.
Can anyone help here and direct me to a link where I can get these drivers?

ExpressCard for MacBook

Is there any way to get ExpressCard for MacBook?
I really need it.

MacBooks do not have an ExpressCard slot. There are USB based devices into which you can install a PCMCIA card.

Another solution is Sprint, I use the PPC 6700. The laptop Connects to the Internet Via DUN/Bluetooth. There is a timeout that's set VERY short, so the connection to the net drops if inactive for more that 15 seconds. Thats a real pain, but a simple solution is This little piece of free software...
Internet Connection Keeper from http://alphaomega.software.free.fr/ I set it to keep alive every 10 seconds.. works like a charm. I have had the connection active for the last 4 hours without a hitch. Your of course limited to the speed of Blue tooth, In real world these mean Im downloading files at about 1.5 meg a minute. So it very usable. Unfortunatly, this phone does not have drivers for Mac, So you can not currently use the USB to make the internet connection (That I have found yet) Maybe theres a hack out there. One nice thing is that the USB DOES work as the phone charger, so I USB the phone to the MBP, keeping the phone charged, and use the bluetooth for the access, this way I stay online all the time without worry of the phones batterys. One thing to note, Make sure your using the latest updates on the phone itself. My current ROM version is 2.06.00 WWE Radio version 1.12.00 If you try this using older versions, the phone WILL lockup all the time requiring a hard reboot. I pay about 100 bucks for 2 phone lines and unlimited Evdo Plus I get unlimited texting, 1 thousand minutes, free nights and weekends. Net speed is fast enought that I have canceled my Cable modem. Which saves me another 50 bucks a month.

Lenovo G555 will only start 1 in 10 times

Good day all
I have a Lenovo G555 that will only start about 1 in every 10 attempts and is slowly getting worse.
When it does come on, it seems like I have to hold the power button for 15 seconds and when I release it - and if I'm lucky - it may start.
Does anyone have some ideas on what the cause might be? When it does turn on, are there some diagnostics that I can run to pin point the problem.

I’m sorry to hear that the issue persists even after performing Flee-Power troubleshooting step in your G555, the only available option to check the issue is to turn ON the Laptop using AC Adapter only without the Battery connected and if the issue persists, performing OSRI (Operating System Re-Install) will confirm that the issue is Hardware related.
To perform OSRI click on OKR (One Key Recovery) button in the computer, below is the link to download the User Guide for the steps to perform OSRI and refer page no. 1 to locate the OKR button and page no. 22 for the steps to perform OKR.
NOTE: Please backup the data in the computer before performing OSRI, as the data will be completely erased.

Configuring the Touchpad on Lenovo G555

I got my new G555 yesterday and love it except for one thing: I have no way to configure the **bleep** touchpad. If I look under Mouse, there is nothing. I've even downloaded drivers from the 3000 V100 (which is the laptop I had before this one), but that was a handicapped version of its usual self. I need to adjust its sensitivity, as my thumb always hits it while I type and destroys whatever I'm writing. I can't even just turn on the click function on it. I can't do anything.
Does anyone have a solution? The drivers for the G555 are useless.

I HATE tap to click but I deleted all of the Lenovo stuff first thing after I turned the computer on. I found this page that had people looking for something like I was so I figured I would share the solution that worked for me.
I found an Alps Pointing Device driver on Cnet's website. There are three drivers in the pack, two for Synapsis and one for Alps. I used the Alps one and the mouse settings now display options for configuring tap to click as well as enabling/disabling scrolling on the touch pad. Good luck.
